    Al Pastor tacos
    Stephanie C.

I came here for lunch recently with my coworkers. We shared the plato fiesta (nacho plate) and I had the al pastor tacos. The plato fiesta was more than enough for four people. We picked steak, chicken, and al pastor as our protein. The steak was the star! It was well seasoned and flavorful! The platter had a generous portion of everything. I would order it again. I didn't really care for my tacos. They were bland and lacking flavor. Next time I'll get the steak tacos. There was plenty of seating available. You place your order at the counter and the food is brought out to you once ready. The parking lot is very small.

My job loves this place, we order from here all the time. They deliver or you can pick up! There is also dining inside and outside. Where we are located they don't normally deliver, but since we always have a large order they make an exception. Very friendly and always fast delivery. Food is great! Everything I've tried is always delicious. Thanks for always providing quality service with amazing food! Some new pics added

You know what bugs me most about restaurant hours? When they publish the hours on their website and then are closed 40 minutes before said time. That's what happened to me at Hal Yamashita. Finding the doors locked and then a cook shaking his head. I walked down the street to find a new Casa Del Taco locale opened up. Now 8.20pm maybe late for some folks on a weeknight but for a culturally Spaniard eater that I am 10.30pm is normal. So showing up 40 min before closing should have been good. Luckily I literally passed the truck on the way over. Had a handful of tacos and a coke and kicked it solo in front of the truck. Folks working were friendly and the food was solid. It was just an unexpected turn from the Japanese food I was expecting. Tacos to the rescue...

Yes, this place is great. Full 5 stars good. Prices are fair, the food is incredible, service is fast, ingredients were fresh and the portions were proper. I can't wait to go back.

Good food.Portions are huge.Delivery is very late. Chicken enchiladas and shrimp tacos are my favorite.

The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The service was friendly. Food is all homemade. Therefore, there is a little wait. If you're ordering food for lunch while working, be sure to place your order ahead of time so you're not late heading back to work! I had the enchiladas with chicken with beans and rice. Although the chicken inside the enchiladas wasn't seasoned, the green sauce made up for it. Their salsas are great with lots of flavor. My goto Mexican restaurant from New Jersey!

This place was on my list of places to try so took a ride up there. I seen the pictures of the shrimp tacos and wanted to try it. I called in the order and the lady told me it would take about 15 minutes. When I arrived I thought the place looked so cute outside. I parked in their private parking lot. I was greeted by a super nice lady and waited a bit because she had a call coming in. I asked the lady how much the homemade juices were and she said $4, so I passed on that. I paid a little over $15 for the tacos with my credit card and left. I got home and dug in. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. They were cut into small pieces with some onions. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the type of tortilla that was used. All in all I had a good experience.

    Enchiladas suizas

It didn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in, the place is so cute and colorful. I ordered the tacos special and got 2 chicken tacos and 1 veggie. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas suizas. The enchiladas came with rice and beans on the side. For the most part the food was delicious but I wish the chicken had more flavor and spice, I had to put a lot of the verde salsa to improve the taste. My boyfriend said the same for the enchiladas sauce. However I would definitely come back and try other items off the menu.

The slowest taco restaurant I've ever seen. A carne asada burrito took a year on a very regular Tuesday to be prepared. Plus rude staff.

The decor was really colorful and the seating was comfortable. For drinks (not pictured), my husband had the margarita and I had the freshly squeezed lemonade. Both were really good. I ordered the Mexican pork ribs, which the waiter recommended. My son had the kids meal. The Mexican pork ribs had pork ribs sautéed in tomatillo sauce, which added nice acidity to the dish. It was also served with rice, beans, and corn tortillas. The kids plate had chicken with rice and beans. He absolutely loved it, I had some of his chicken it was juicy. This place is the definition of home style meal. It just tasted like something your grandmother would make. It was super satisfying and filling. We also took churros to go. They were very crispy and came with chocolate and a light dulce de leche sauce. The restaurant was clean and the waiter was very nice and attentive. Everything came out quickly. I didn't see the bathroom. Prices were reasonable, I think for the plate size, it was a good price. We're really excited to try their brunch menu!

Authentic Mexican food is more than tacos and salsa. The Garden State is hailed as one of the most diverse states when it comes to food, hosting some of the best Mexican restaurants on the East Coast. Whether one desires a quick taco or a full-course meal, my friends and I were craving rich and bold tastes from Mexico and decided on this family-owned establishment for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner. The reservation was easily made by calling Mariachi Grill, located on Ridge Road in Lyndhurst. Upon arrival at this popular spot to locals, with its cozy and casual interior decked out in traditional Mexican vibes, we were greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the entrance, but they also have outdoor dining, weather permitting. The menu selection is much smaller than at other restaurants. We decided on the Cheese Enchiladas, Beef Enchiladas, California Burrito, Beef Burrito, Chicken Fries with Fries, and Shrimp Fajitas. Some meals are accompanied with a small portion of rice and black beans. Complimentary house chips and salsa started our meal. As the restaurant is working on their liquor license, it's BYOB. One can bring your own tequila or wine, and the staff will mix it with their sangria or margarita mixes. We washed our meal down with a pitcher of sangria. The presentation was very good. The food was made incredibly fresh, well seasoned, deliciously tasty, and generous. The price was very reasonable for the area. Our server Lisa with her outgoing personality and her desire to make our visit enjoyable, which we didn't feel rushed. Good experience overall, which we can recommend.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ Elote - DELICIOUS. Whole corn was perfectly grilled and each and every bite was addictively tasty with the chili powder, queso fresco and mayo mixed in. + Guacomole & Salsa - Verrry, verrry good. Possibly some of the BEST guacamole we've ever had. It wasn't super thick and was so smooth, which made it easy to dip the chips in. Unfortunately, we had a surplus of chips compared to guac so we definitely could have used a larger serving. + Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla - Perfect for our kids. Quesadilla was simple, but delicious and hot right off the grill. Plenty of chicken inside too. + Shrimp Fajitas - Delicious. There was a lot of ingredients mixed in - roasted peppers, onions and lots of melted cheese on top. Only knock was that there were just 2 large tortillas. We could have used 1 more large one or a bunch of smaller ones. + 3 Tacos - Chorizo, Carne al Pastor and Bistec tacos were all excellent! There was sooooo much meat pouring out from each one, so to say the amount of meat in the order was generous is understating it. ==== The Chorizo was actually sliced pieces of sausage, which was good, but I do love the ground version more. Nevertheless, still super flavorful. ==== If you love a good kick, the Carne al Pastor is for you. A bit too spicy for me, where it overpowered the flavor of the meat. ==== The steak actually wasn't really seasoned, which was a surprise. However, in a strange way, it worked considering all of the ingredients mixed in - onions, scallions. BUT, if you were to just eat the steak outside of the taco, you might find it disappointing. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Waiter was friendly, however, he always seemed very busy, so it was tough flagging him down when we needed him sometimes. + Despite it being very busy on a Saturday evening, food arrived very quickly after we ordered, THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Located right in the heart of the Rutherford downtown area where there are plenty of other restaurants. + No private parking lot, so street parking is your only option. + Spacious restaurant and beautifully decorated inside, especially in the back half where the tables and chairs have designs on them. + Music was constantly blaring, some traditional Mexican music, but they also mixed in reggaeton, which was interesting considering that it was a Mexican restaurant. + Relatively clean interior. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- + Was busy on a Saturday evening at 6 PM and as early diners left, more folks just kept coming in, so we KNEW we made the right decision coming to dine here.

It looks like they make their tortillas fresh in house which you can taste the authenticity and they did something interesting with the onions where they weren't chopped rather sliced and slightly grilled. In addition, the flautas were a little questionable at a glance if your visual eater because the lettuce did have carrots, the cream had a bit of a pink tint, and the chicken wasn't grilled rather finally shredded.
