I was very excited to try these authentic tacos so I came here for the first time because my friends recommended it, I ordered the steak tacos carne enchilada and chorizo taco. I also ordered a small spicy beef soup with an horchata. The soup was too salty for my likings would've been good if it had less salt. The horchata again wasn't the best it lacked flavor. I was underwhelmed by all 3 tacos and felt like they forgot to add salt to the carne enchilada one. My friend said that they tasted different than the times she's been there before and could've be because we came when their were a lot of people, so I will be giving it another try. I like this spot a lot. Their food is definitely filling and worth the price. They give you so much meat for their tacos. One complaint I do have is the wait time for their food. Which is why I'm only giving 3 stars. Doesn't matter if it's a full house or during slow time, the minimum time I've had to wait is 15 mins. So I usually order take out and then pick up. And I still had to wait at the restaurant for another 5-10 mins for the food to be ready. The kitchen people would bring out the food and then the FOH would pack it. But it would be sitting there for a few minutes before it's packed. Sometimes I see about 4 people behind the counter just standing there on their phones and not working. This is a local family restaurant, I'll continue to support it. But the wait time needs to improve. This spot has been open for more than 2 years. Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Secaucus, if not the area. I have been going to La Casa de Los Tacos since their opening and have not been disappointed. Their lunch specials range from $10-$12 and their $10/3 tacos cannot be beat (and you can mix and match!) Here are some recommended dishes (although I'm sure what they offer on the menu and not listed here is also very good) - Guac and Chips: The chips are nice and crunchy and the guac is SO FRESH. You get a nice hint of lime and the overall flavor is to balanced. The difference between their small and large order with chips is $2 and it is worth it because you get a nice helping of chips on the side. - Flautas: I am a sucker for ordering flautas when I order Mexican food and the ones you get here are probably one of the best. Nicely filled and crispy, they are worth the calories consumed. - Al Pastor Tacos: Confession - al pastor tacos hold a special place in my heart, not sure if its because, when done right, it is a sweet symphony of tangy pork with sweet pineapple. The ones you can get at La Casa de Los Tacos are definitely done right and topped with onion, you cannot go wrong in trying these. If you are in the area, run - don't walk to La Casa de Los Tacos. They offer some outdoor seating and you can also order online for pick-up. Cute new place located in the back of Secaucus. The only issue I had, was when I walked in and sat down, one of the girls came over and said we don't serve, you have to order at the counter. Ok so why so many chairs? Luckily the food was good! The corn chowder soup was so fresh and so creamy it made me forget all about her comment. I also had a burrito platter. Steak and a wonderfully seasoned shrimp over grilled veggies. It was super filing! My fiancé had shrimp tacos and they were very authentic. Plenty of space and parking. Just wish they would give you a cup with ice or something. Not just a straw with a warm can of soda. If I have one complaint....there were no radishes with my tacos. That stupid, small complaint, honestly irrelevant point aside, their food is amazing. I had four tacos, Al Pastor, Pibil, Pollo, and Lengua. All four were incredible and some of the best I've tasted since I was in the southwest. My fiance had their veggie quesadilla and she was such a fan that she had her office order them for lunch the following day. I would highly recommend them for their food alone. However...the people that run this establishment are very nice. However the second time today, service was fast and good. The breakfast for $5.25 is a good deal and comes with coffee. The corn soup, which I mix with their tortilla soup is yummy. Why do I mix it? Because the corn soup is too sweet and the tortilla is missing acid or sweetness so if you mix it together it's perfect in my eyes. Separately it needed work ( less sugar in corn and more flavor in tortilla) but that's just me. The breakfast is ok to good. I'm waiting fir my order as I write this. Today I got the chiq. One which egg over fried corn tortillas with cheese and beans. You can add meat for an extra charge. Last time I got eggs with beans. It was fine- just needed more hot sauce and salt but that because I like this in full bloom ( seasoned well). Overall, I did return today since it's by the post office and it's nice to get home made soup and breakfast. But it takes 10 minutes or more as they get a lot of call in orders. Believe it or night, they pack the breakfast well- it stayed warm until my 50 minute commute! Overall I suggest you try it if you're in the neighborhood. Decor is cute for a cafe in Secaucus. If I could given this place a zero then I would have given them a negative zero. My office place a large order, about six orders, mine was specific because I'm allergic to avocado. When they delivered the food, of course I paid for it.....then realized out of all orders mine had to be the one messed up. We told the delivery lady that was the incorrect order and took the order back with a pissed off face. NOT MY PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ORDERS CORRECTLY!! THEN, when she came back to redeliver the correct order, she was rude by saying I never paid her and wanted to argue with me. Delivery member was rude and messed up our orders then has a temper tantrum because she had to take one meal back because it was completely incorrect. This is actually a cute little spot hidden away. There's about 5 parking spots, but I believe you can also park in the street. I came here on a Friday night and there were plenty of tables open. Lots of foot traffic but I believe most people take their orders to go. The set up here mirrors a few chains such as Panera bread. You order at the counter, pay, someone brings your food out, you bring your plates to the trash/ dish bins. The tacos are good in flavor; the guac was also good and a decent size too.
