The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but the food and drink were disappointing. They did not meet my expectations.

I wasn't a huge fan of anything about this place. Prices were decent, so I suppose there's that. We had reservations for a table for dinner but at 11 pm were promptly kicked out and told that it was now for bottle service only (even though no one had reserved the table for bottle service and it went empty for the rest of the evening). When my friend found a hair in his drink, there was a very awkward showdown with the server who insisted on seeing it and refused to do anything without seeing it first. This encounter went on for several minutes before he gave her the drink and said it was fine, he just wouldn't drink it. I was pretty appalled by the whole encounter and even though I know service in NYC is supposed to be rude, this was next level. For food, I had the fries and burger, both which were just okay. Not sure the fries were worth the calories - a bit cardboardy if you know what I mean. It suddenly turned into a "dance club" later in the evening it was insanely packed by 20 somethings which might be your jam, but it is definitely not mine. Probably won't be back. read more

I was so excited to visit this place for dinner and drinks on a Friday. I made reservations a couple days in advance... when we got to the door the extremely rude and homophobic bouncer stiffened up and gave us all dirty looks. I told him I had a reservation and he looked around all skeptical as if this place was some fancy establishment and then looked at my friend (who is gay and dressed in a mesh tank top and pants) and said "sorry we have a dress code and I DONT like your outfit" my friend apologized and said "well what is the dress code" and the bouncer said "no tank tops no sweatpants". He wasn't wearing sweatpants. I felt like the bouncer was targeting my friend because the three girls I was with were wearing skirts and tube tops and tank tops and he said absolutely nothing to them. He told us our IDs were fake too (we are all 23 24) and didn't let us in. To have a bouncer at 8 pm when the place is still doing dinner and not the club scene (we were there for dinner....) is a bit ridiculous. Why can't the server just ask for an ID if we ordered drinks. It made it extremely difficult for us to find another place too since this place is in such a dead area. Whew.. I really try not leaving bad reviews and rather give benefit of the doubt it was just a bad night, but this place BLOWS. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because of the ambiance and I do believe the servers try but are just understaffed.. I came on a Friday night as a party of two around 8... It was NOT packed, lol. Far from it.. They had many empty tables. After being seated at the table for 25+ minutes, I manually went up to the bar to at least order us drinks. I then proceeded to have to do that about 3x more through the course of the ~90 minutes max we spent here as there was no server in sight, then it kept changing who would eventually come up to the table after having to keep going to the bar to just place an order... Theres no other way to say it- the food is horrible. It was cold too. Taco Bell would've been better. Luckily this place isn't that expensive so it wasn't a total L, but hard pass! Unless you're really dying to be the cave-like ambiance I guess? Then idk. Check it out if you wish. YMMV. By NYC nightlife standards, this ain't it all around. read more

BEWARE: They charge you 20% "service charge" on all orders, and never disclose this. There is also a line for "tip" which most people inadvertently fill in. It's a dark, loud, packed dive bar, so it is hard to see what you are signing. They also don't provide a copy of the receipt. My visit was great , warm greeting from the bartenders, it was nice and cool , the ambiance totally set that dark cave experience. We had the guacamole and a burger , delicious . Bouncers ruined the vibe :( For some reason the bouncers were constantly cutting through the dance floor, plowing through people and blinding guests with their flashlights. It would have been one thing if they needed to remove a rude guest or if there was an emergency, but this was not the case. It seemed like every 5 minutes a pushy bouncer was deliberately hitting my retina's with a high powered strobe as they shoved me aside for seemingly unimportant reasons. One time it was so a worker in an apron could spot mop a completely dry area... it was 1:30AM and the dance floor was full. Overall it's a cool bar, had a great DJ, and awesome atmosphere but I won't be going back anytime soon unless I have dark sunglasses and football pads on. read more

We came in & were able to get a table, drinks we all stuck to beer Stella was my choice, great beer can't go wrong. Very cool looking place the whole cave thing, they have a decent set up with tables & seating not too bad & some open space for dancing. The vibes are great - cute "cenote" aesthetic which is interesting and fun. They have a Thursday marg deal but you need to drink at least 3+ margs to make it worth it. Their staff is super attentive and lovely. For a lounge this was probably the most attentive waitresses/waiters I've ever met lol. Your water will never run out lol. My biggest gripes with the place is really on three major points. 1. Food - it's Fine but they charge you a lot for very small portions and only decent tasting food - nothing to write home about. 2. Prices - again the price of food is ridiculous and just not worth it. But prices for drinks is actually pretty standard - maybe even a little cheaper than other IG featured locations and 3. My biggest pet peeve - they included a gratuity tax - ie. They tack on their own tip and didn't let me put my own. Maybe you like that maybe you don't but be sure to check your check to make sure you're not over tipping and I always feel a certain type of way when people force a tip - I tip good and I just feel it's kind of insulting? Lol - that could just be me though. Overall, this is like a pre-game / looking to get drunk on margs place. Not really a sit down to eat place.
