My family and I have been ordering from La Conversation for over 15 years. It's great they have a storefront again in LA making it easier to pick up desserts. They have a small seating area. The pear tart and Milanese cupcakes are my family's go-to for desserts. I also like the macadamia hearts. Customer service is always great. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The CUTEST little bakery with such nice staff. I highly highly recommend stopping here, the prices are so affordable. This is a true gem!

Super cute cafe, the food was delish. Had an omelette with fresh fruit, did not disappoint! Super friendly service as well, will definitely come back

I ordered a delicious club sandwich, to eat there and some cookies to take home .

Fantastic cafe / bakery ! Nice staff , delicious food and amazing baked goods. I've been 3 times in 4 weeks!!

Absolutely beautiful space, the pastries even better, and the staff are even friendlier. It felt like I was stopping by an auntie's house, and she turned around holding a freshly baked croissant. I went home with the macadamia hearts (delightful), chocolate and almond croissant (filled to the brim), fruit tarts (fresh), and pear tart, all as good as the one before. Not a place to sleep on, and I can't wait to come back!

Welcoming -- wonderful staff- fresh array of pastries-- croissants -tarts. Creative and beautiful. Great coffees/lattes. You can also order cakes and pies. Soon they will be expanding their breakfast menu and light lunch. This is a new location for La Conversation - they had been on Doheny , off Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood for years!! Same Bakers and some the original staff! How amazing to see them again!!

My favorite veggie croissants and pastries! Love this place. Super cute Parisian style bakery. Service is amazing!

Such a beautiful cake with succulents to match my bouquet and my husband's boutonniere.

I've tried various cakes, pastries, and other goodies from this bakery and each time they've been delicious and presented beautifully. We were lucky enough to have La Conversation make our wedding cake this last May and we were blown away. I had seamless communication with them regarding the cake flavor options, design ideas, and about set-up/delivery for the big day so it was a relief to know they were proactive in thinking of all the details. We decided on a chocolate cake with buttercream icing. I mentioned we had succulents in my bouquet/boutonniere and they were able to incorporate them onto the cake! We got so many compliments from our family and friends on the appearance and taste. Easiest and best decision we could have made!

I liked this place so much. How could they close forever? No goodbye. No other location... wow. I'm so sad.

If you're looking for many of the same baked goods, the manager and head baker have continued to provide and even deliver! Contact Nubia Cruz at (323) 377-5549.

Does anyone know if they plan to reopen this? I was going to go with my boyfriend today and really bummed to see it's closed.

I'm afraid that Steve sold the business and is enjoying retirement. I believe he's headed to Greece this week.

Anyone know of a recipe for their delicious macadamia hearts? I'm gonna miss those.

    What happened to this restaurant?

They closed quietly on Jan 20

Ok? Sooooo we didn't know it closed..?? How come ?? What happened ?? I need answers 😭

The new owner of the property wants to demolish the current building and build a new one. ☹️

    Closed for good?

    Yes !!!

When do they stop serving breakfast?

    Breakfast all day!

Where is the best place to park? That area has become parking hell...

They have their own parking in the back of the restaurant. It can get a little competitive but there is some times a parking attendant across the street who helps the businesses on the block.

Personally, I don't like that style, I was hoping the original would change that for me! Long story short, I didn't like the Walnut Chocolate Chip. I personally just don't like that style still, so I'll chalk it up as a "me" problem. The cooked part was good. The Rocky Road was cooked through. It was an amazing baked good with good flavor and add-ins. Between the roasted almond slices and fudgey chocolate chips, I was enjoying it immensely. A highlight of my day for sure. Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

The ham is rolled up and in the center of the croissant, so make sure you bite into it lengthwise to get the ham and cheese all together. Fantastically savory!!! It's like a fancy filet o fish without the soggy bun, packed with amazing fried fish and tarter sauce. Downside is that I first tried the fish panini years ago and it was a bit better then, but it's still good currently. Other pastries I've tried here have been pretty good. They had some various buns with mochi inside, and those were great. Another one of my fave is their mentaiko salt bun. Great flavor, though I wish they would stuff the thing with more mentaiko. Their curry breads are good too. I took my daughter here and she got one with cute emoji drawn on, and she said the custard filling and the bread was tasty as well. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
