Based on reviews we had to try. Greeted immediately and seated. That was the best of the experience. The carpeting was dirty and sticky and the table was sticky too. The bathroom questionable. We both ordered the Breakfast Sampler EGGS Soft scramble. Came out dry. Sunnyside up. Yolks cooked hard. BACON, HAM, SAUSAGE PATTY, SAUSAGE LINK Apparently pre-cooked and left on the griddle. All overdone, brittle, dry and tasteless HOMEFRIES Also pre-cooked and sitting on griddle. Cold. TOAST Cold and an upcharge for Texas Toast. COFFEE Hot, good and with refills Charged for two cups in error. The charge was pleasantly removed. The food was truly lackluster. Ate less than 1/2 and was asked if we wanted a to go box. The server never asked how the meal was nor thanked me. Very disappointing experience and it's doubtful I'll give them a second chance. read more

Filet and eggs, grits, toast simple, cooked properly (filet could have been a bit more cooked, but I'll take under for over any day) and seasoned well. Nothing fancy. I ordered the hangover which is a gigantic 3 egg omelette stuffed with homemade not too salty, corned beef hash dripping with hollandaise. Whoever thought to put corned beef hash inside am omelette = genius. I can't believe I have waited so many years, So many orders of corned beef hash, even Grandpa's homemade and never had it in an omelette smothered in rich sauce (I get mine on the side to control the dip). This long time St. Pete restaurant is fresh and newly beautifully renovated and the under new ownership -the most charming owner ever! This new French restaurant meets beach casual and it is a MUST visit. The menu is new and looks decadent in person. It offers real French quiche, homemade chocolate croissants, holandaise over poached eggs and hand cut French friend potatoes are only the beginning. You can taste the real cream in the true French delicious quiche (kills the store bought) baked in light, fluffy pastry. The French owner is completely charming along with her wonderful, hard working and smiling staff. What a pleasure to eat here not once but twice during our vacation week. Not sure how this place has a 4 star average. Went here this morning for breakfast and it was by far the worse breakfast ever paid for. First of all a tourist trap pricing. Bacon deep fat fried hard and way to crispy. Home fries are terrible. The place had a strange smell to it. The only positive was the great staff. This was our first time and also last. This place was so charming and delicious. We brought my mother-in-law here when she was in town visiting because she adores breakfast. The omelette I had was good and the home fries were especially delicious. The star, of course, was the croissant. It was literally melt in your mouth, very light, incredibly buttery and delicious. Great breakfast joint! I live three blocks from here and go often. Everything is made fresh in house as far as I know, and they're pretty good. They import their butter from France to make their croissants and hollandaise which are delicious. The vibe is great, just old school diner feels. The servers are fantastic and on the ball. I always get the Paris express. It has hash browns in the bottom, then it has sausage, followed by Swiss cheese, 2 eggs after that and the. Topped with hollandaise. It's so good! What a CUTE little ma and pa place here at Beverly's. The entire restaurant is probably the size of a larger living room, but the do open an additional room on weekends. Came here on a Saturday and was seated immediately even with them being busy. They have a solid menu for good prices with the amount of food you get! I got the Leftover Omelette which is one of their more popular breakfast menu items, it was as you'd imagine, ALL the veggies put into an omelette along with bacon and ham and a THICK layer of cheese on top for your delight. Their home fries were well seasoned and rye bread was solid. I could only eat half and was STUFFED. I think the omelette was about $10 but worth it. They do offer coffee as soon as you walk in, do note it is $2.5 but they come around and refill all day long. Nothing fancy here, just good home cooking. read more

Perfect, creamy filling and a light flakey crust. Our son had the hangover omelet. Croissants were delicious. Grits were wonderful. Highly recommend. My last visit here at least 3 years ago, it was Beverly's and my 2015 review is for Beverly's. It is now La Croisette, still French and still some of Beverly's recipes. (I see a "Bev's" is opening up south of here, may be same gal?) I visited La Croisette this week and give it a mixed review. First it does not appear handicapped accessible with a first step into the restaurant (not needed in 2015 so not noticed). it wasn't raining so I chose outdoor seating and waitress Tina popped out and said they do take orders outside (it was empty then). She brought menu and disappeared for a long 10 minutes. Finally ordered a beverage and she disappeared another 10+ minutes. She came back and delivered what she called a Diet Coke and disappeared again. It was a Coke Zero-def not drinkable by my palate. Need to be as transparent about this difference as people are about Coke vs Pepsi. bleh. It should also not take 30 minutes and disappearing acts to get in an order and wait. Many people came after me and were served before me. I realize my server never stopped moving but either improve efficiency or higher another server. The rushing was impersonal. I ordered Croissant French toast. Had she allowed a moment to breathe, or asked, I'd have added bananas or pecans. or both. The 2 croissants were $11. They came plain. syrup on the table. Also got a scrambled egg, delivered on a separate plate ( a little silly). There was a little Asian man (server? host?) shoo-ing people out to sign in at a podium and wait outside the premises. This got people out of order by people who knew to sign in and were served ahead. Horrifyingly rude, inefficient. Long wait for the check. Food was fine, nothing fabulous. For the chaos, I ate elsewhere the rest of my week in town. Two other breakfast spots nearby. I'm sure the food would've tasted better had there not been all the zooming, crowding and waits going on around me. It's rare that ambiance & service brings the rating down lower than the food quality. Eat at your own risk. read more

We had breakfast there and for us, it totally missed the mark. We are fans of savory stuff so we didn't try any of the sweets or their staff-recommended croissants. The Florida omelet was small, flat and rubbery - as if the eggs hadn't been whipped. The avocados in it were brown and unappealing. The home fries were mushy and had a strange, stale taste as if they were old. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage. It came with cut up "discs" of breakfast sausage links that tasted sweet as if they were possibly maple flavored. And it was covered in some kind of bland "cheesy gravy." The grits were watery and also totally flavorless - plus the tiny portion was probably 2-3 tablespoons. The coffee was bitter. The best thing on either of our plates was the rye toast that came with the omelet. But it wasn't even a typical rye - more like a "rye-flavored white bread." The staff was very nice and the place itself is clean and attractive. Parking was plentiful and easy. The service was prompt and friendly. No complaints whatsoever. Unfortunately, the prices were quite high for the quality of the food, so the whole experience ended up being an expensive disappointment. read more

Sometimes it pays to reflect on the reasons why I take the time to write a review of the places where I chose to spend my dollars and tastebud experiences. I guess it largely boils down to the fact that I am a traveler, and as such I personally rely on online reviews of the establishments in any area to determine where to go in order to maximize my chances of having a good experience. I live near La Croisette. It was one of the first cafes I frequented when I moved to the area. I was relieved to find it after experiencing too many bad overpriced breakfasts to count around St. Pete St. Pete Beach. Service can suck in a resort area as places are often seasonally crowded and staff can be overwhelmed. It takes a very steady hand to manage a wait staff and kitchen crew through this, not to mention Covid, supply chain issues, etc. La Croisette exists in some kind of charmed dimension where ALL THAT is going on, but it rarely impacts the great service, and never impacts the marvelous food that reaches your table. Breakfast here! Everything on the menu is great - some of it, like the quiche, may be the very best in the area. Pancakes are light and fluffy, breakfast burritos are stuffed to bursting, Benedict has an actual honest-to-god homemade hollandaise sauce, croissants and light as an angels kiss with just the right amount of flaky buttery encapsulation. Breakfast here will re-assure you that all is right with the world - at least the breakfast world! Prices are fair and service is charming and efficient. Love you, La C! read more

Pretty disappointing. Read the reviews and was excited for breakfast but it was more like a diner then upscale restaurant. Asked for a mocha latte and the waitress seemed put aback. Someone else tried to serve me regular coffee and I asked again for a mocha latte. The end result was a fairly good mocha. My friend ordered the French toast. It was not Texas toast style as they proclaimed and it didn't smell too appetizing. I ordered the Florida omelet with home fries. The home fries were interesting but not great and "famous" as they proclaimed. The omelet was a bit below average. I couldn't eat much of it. We won't return. There are too many other breakfast places that are great here. read more
