This was absolutely one of the worst restaurants I have come across. The beans literally tasted like dirt, the enchiladas tasted like rotting carcass that was tossed through a wood chipper. Super expensive for a basic meal, the decor and service wasn't that great either, service was worse. The waitresses and servers acted mentally incompetent, as if they couldn't perform the basics of human function, I really don't know how else to put it any more eloquently. Passing through on the way to Los Angeles. Family style Mexican. Super nice folks. Had the beef fajitas for one and it was plenty for two people. Large portions! While visiting my mother back in my hometown, I was excited to see that a new place had opened up to bring some life to an otherwise pretty dead restaurant scene in Overton. While I was a little hesitant to try La Fonda, it surely did not disappoint! The restaurant has a very mom and pop shop feel and the service was outstanding. I figured I was going to be pretty satisfied when the first test was passed, the chips and salsa. Any great Mexican restaurant is supported by great chips and salsa and I was impressed by the offerings at La Fonda. The chips were fresh and warm, not greasy, and clearly homemade. Two salsas, one mild and one hot, were served and I enjoyed both (though I practically drank through several bowls of the 'hot' variety). For food, I ordered a lunch special recommended by our waiter, the zapatas (I think this was the name, it was two steak burritos, #7 on the lunch menu). First of all, the portions are HUGE! My meal was flavorful and delicious, especially the accompanying pinto beans. Others at the table ordered the taco salad and a taco/enchilada combo plate and all were very happy. Bottom line, I am pretty stoked about La Fonda now being in Overton. I look forward to checking out more of the menu (especially the breakfast!) and really hope the place doesn't go under like so many attempts at business in Overton do. read more

We go to this restaurant quite a bit. My favorite entree is the number 26 which is a tamali and a cheese enchilada. It is so good. A friend of ours ordered the incredible burrito and he thought it was so delicious.. He could also have it for lunch and probably dinner the next day haha. read more

Lived in Vegas my whole life and never knew this place existed. It's so good I wouldn't even mind the drive here every time to come here and get this delicious Mexican food. We came in and we're seated right away. Our friends who live here in Overton said they were pretty busy and most tables taken! We received drinks and free chips and salsa. Served with a runny bean dip. Pretty tasty! They have lots of choices. Combo plates, sizzling fajitas, huge burritos! I chose a burrito with Chile Colorado with rice and beans. My fiancé had Caldo de res and our friends also had burritos. One seafood burrito and a chili verde burrito. The caldo de res had huge chunks of beef and fresh veggies. Handmade tortillas were delicious! My burrito was so delicious. The rice and beans were perfectly delicious but I didn't even need the beans and rice on the side because The burrito was so huge. I couldn't even one quarter. Only thing next time is I would ask for a bit more cheese because it would have made it perfect but still amazing. The seafood burrito came smothered in a creamy sauce with shrimp and lobster I believe. It really is such a great restaurant serving huge portions of delicious food! If you want delicious homemade Mexican food this place is seriously the best I've ever had. Would definitely want to support this family run business! Only regret is I didn't get pics! Great Mexican restaurant to visit after the Valley of Fire and before the ride to Zion. It took a while to get our orders in but once they were, service and food was great. We sat in 'the room' and enjoyed the privacy for our small group. The fajitas were amazing and a huge amount for two people. The tacos and burritos were excellent and fresh. We are locals and we have had their food a number of times now and it's always good. During early COVID we picked up at their window and enjoyed a picnic. Visiting friends in the area for the Pomegranite Festival. They enthusiastically said LA FONDA is "true Tex-Mex" so I was very excited. Very clean but small serving area. I think it may be family run. The portions are massive, and the raspberry ice tea was divine but I felt the food was mediocre, certainly not "true Tex-Mex" and the water brought one of our party the wrong order number so if you go, ask the waiter to read the order back to you. I would go again when in the area but don't expect true Tex-Mex ... do try the hot salsa though ... it was the best part of my meal. read more

So pleasantly surprised! The spot is very of the beaten path & I only found it because of Yelp! (YAY Yelp!) The very first thing I noticed was it was very nice & clean, nicely lit & we were immediately greeted by a friendly smile. We were brought 2 salsas (both delicious) one hotter than the other and some watery retried beans... but very tasty! I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and SO Glad I did, they were two FAT delicious chicken enchiladas, the sauce was delicious & the chicken was juicy & seasoned! Nothing worse than ordering a chicken dish with bland, flavorless chicken. It came with Spanish red rice (decent) and refried beans that were very yummy! Their portions were so large I was not able to finish my second enchilada... so sad because it truly was so delicious! Also! Loved the the selection of authentic Mexican sodas, my favorite being the Sangria, I always ask for a glass with ice and limes... the BEST! What an amazing find! And just outside of Red Rock State Park. My husband and I stopped in just after a long day of waking and hiking. Such good food! We had the Camarones a la Fonda (shrimp wrapped in bacon with rice beans green peppers onions and tortillas) and Botana Estilo Sergio (deep fried tilapia, shrimp quesadillas, and mex grill shrimp octopus and scallops) look on the back of the menu under Other Seafood Plates . Horrible service. I ordered cheese enchiladas and they gave me chicken. The waittress took them back to the kitchen and said she'd replace them. As soon as she came out of the kitchen I told her, by the way I'm a vegetarian I don't eat meat or broth (which is why I sent them back). She said that there was broth in the enchilada sauce but that the chef already started making the cheese enchiladas. At her recommendation I changed my order to the vegetarian burrito. After that the manager (an older woman) came out and said the chef is rushing to make anything for me because they threw out two dishes already. If she had asked me to pay for the cheese enchiladas and served me something else, that would have been fine. I should have mentioned that I don't eat meat up front but to refuse to make anything is terrible service. read more

We went here for the first time a couple of months ago. The enchilada and the sauce was really good but the rice and beans had absolutely no flavor. Also someone in our party ordered a taco salad which was just like hamburger with no salt and pepper or any kind of seasoning on it. She could only eat a few bites. The service was slow. Well we decided to go back again since there isn't many options in Logandale. We decided not to order a combo since we knew the rice and beans were bad so we ordered a Carna Asada burrito enchilada style. It was a huge plate and it was delicious. It was barely warm though and not hot at all. They give you just a small cup of the mild salsa so we had to ask for some more, there is maybe only like a 1/4 of a cup. When we received our bill they charged us for the salsa. The service is not good again and as we were leaving we noticed that there was a C rating from the health department. I sure wish I would've saw that before I had eaten. I really had high hopes for this place since it is the only Mexican food in Logandale. Thank goodness we do not live in logandale because I need me some good Mexican food. I just hope that they will read this review and clean up the place and add some spices to their food. read more
