My friends and I went to La Fondue earlier this month as a birthday dinner. The restaurant has a very eclectic interior design style, with bold wallpaper in the check in area, and large statues throughout the dining area. We booked a reservation and arrived about 5 minutes before our reservation time, however we were not seated until almost 20 minutes after our reservation had started. If you go to La Fondue, I would plan for about 2 hours for your meal if you choose one of the coursed meals. While the restaurant was slow to seat us, the team was attentive once we were seated. Most of us ordered the fondue feast, and since we were a party of 8 we got the choice of 2 types of cheeses. We chose the stinking rose and four cheese, both of which were delicious. A selection of bread, potatoes, pickles, and fruits are brought out to dip in the cheese, and the staff will bring out more on request. Most of our party got the fondue feast, so there was lots of variety in the types of meats we were served. Some of the standouts were the duck and the boar. The spatulas given were a little difficult to use when flipping the meats, but other than that our grilling experience went smoothly. Our meal ended with chocolate fondue, served with a wide variety of desserts to dip in it. We chose the decadent one and chocotastic flavors, both of which were delicious. My favorites to dip in the fondue were the fruits, but they offer everything from strawberries to pound cake to cream puffs to cookie dough bites! Overall, I would definitely come back, but likely during a less busy time to avoid waiting so long before being seated. read more

Debated about posting this review I've lived in Saratoga my whole life and have always been curious about La Fondue, so my boyfriend surprised me with a visit for our anniversary. The restaurant's website and the billboard outside advertise the "La Freak" option for $98, so I decided to order it, while my boyfriend got the Fondue Feast and a couple of drinks. But it was false advertisement! When the bill came, we were charged full price for the La Freak. When we brought it up with our server, Daniel, he told us it wasn't a mistake that the whole party needed to order La Freak to get the advertised price. We paid, but on our way out, I noticed the sign still didn't mention this requirement anywhere. We went back in to clarify, and Daniel said this happens often and that he had checked with the manager before, but there was nothing he could do. If this pricing policy is common, it really should be clearly stated ahead of time. It was disappointing to have such confusion on what was meant to be a special anniversary treat. Truthfully, I believe this is fraud and hope this review will help the next person. Disclaimer: I did call afterwards to speak with a manager and they said they would call me back. We went to La Fondue to celebrate Mother's Day. It's been a long time since the last time we dined here. New location, new menu and I am sure under new management. The decor was different, dark and gothic. We had reservations and were seated immediately. There was a gold silk rose on the table for me. It took a while for our server to come to our table. We learned that Mother's Day is their busiest day of the year. The food was good and we enjoyed our experience. I think they were under staffed. So be sure to plan enough time. I put my partner in charge of organizing the festivities for a combination 22 year anniversary and birthday weekend. He got us a reservation at La Fondue! Ambiance: the visual vibes are perfect! Very swanky, great decor, perfect mood lighting. And downtown Saratoga is lovely. However -- it smelled quite strongly of fish when we arrived. The whole entry area. Wasn't great and clashed with how cool the place looked. Parking: Easy peasy. There was a big lot out back and plenty of street parking, but we're also early birds and went at about 5:30 pm on a Thursday. Service: Friendly, helpful, and great at helping us figure out what to do next, since fondue definitely involves cooking your own stuff. They also so sweetly gave us free bubbly beverages with maraschino cherries to help celebrate our anniversary. Food: Unfortunately, the salads were kind of blah (felt very cafeteria-style pile of vegetables, as opposed to well composed dishes where flavors and textures were purposefully chosen), and the grilled meats (we went with the Romantique) were just ok. All of the flavor came from the sauce, the cooking medium and butter didn't seem to add much. The best part was -- unsurprisingly -- the chocolate fondue dessert. I was really excited to come here with my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary but I won't be coming back. My boyfriend ordered the $65 dozen roses when making the reservation. The roses were ready at our table with a red ribbon upon our arrival. My initial excitement was later dimmed when I realized the roses were already in bad condition and it only came with 10 roses instead of 12. One of the roses was crooked and hanging downwards like the emoji . The lighting is inconsistent throughout the restaurant: some tables had good lighting while our table was so dark that we couldn't read the menu or see our food while cooking. My photos appear brighter than reality due to my camera's night mode feature. We got 4 course fondue tasting menu for 2. We got both the chef salad and spinach salad. The salads are nothing special. The dressing comes in a sauce boat. You can pour as much as you need. For the entree, we ordered the La Romantique and Fruit de Mer. The $108 La Romantique includes: Chicken Japonaise, Teriyaki Sirloin, Black Tiger Shrimp, Filet Mignon & Lobster Tails The $126 Fruit De Mer includes: Mahi, Swordfish, Tuna Saku, Day Boat Scallops, Pacific White Shrimp, Black Tiger Shrimp, Shrimp Japonaise, Colossal Shrimp, Lobster Tails & Snow Crab The portion sizes of the fish and meats were small. The shrimps and lobster tail were the biggest things. The cuts themselves were okay but nothing too crazy. The taste was okay. We cooked it ourselves but had difficulty seeing the doneness due to how dark our table was. It was a great experience! Came here for my boyfriend and my anniversary and it was a wonderful time. Shoutout to our server Julian for the awesome recommendations! Our server was also very kind and polite, was a total delight. Food wise, we had Le Freak, with a four cheese mushroom fondue and the tortoise chocolate fondue. Both were super yummy! The Le Freak was a great experience, and gave us some ideas of what to get the next time we go (hopefully soon!) The restaurant itself is pretty big, with a dark and cool ambiance. What happened to La Fondue?? I visited yesterday evening with my two young daughters. The food we ordered was missing a number of our typical favorites, and we couldn't manage to get anyone to bring us what we were requesting. Service was extremely painfully SLOW and terrible with multiple errors, and our server might have been on his first shift ever (which is totally okay--everyone needs to start somewhere). What wasn't okay was requesting things over and over and never receiving them when the restaurant was relatively empty. What wasn't okay was leaving us standing near our table for ages when I requested the check from multiple employees, and then our server finally leaving with my phone in hand to go and make the payment elsewhere in the restaurant. I still tipped well, of course. But what came next was very upsetting. I had parked in the back parking lot because there was no signage indicating that it wasn't a lot for customers. I was eventually told by the valet outside of the Plumed Horse that the signage blew away long ago in storms and was never replaced, so people park there all the time. It just looks like a regular parking lot! When I brought my little girls out to leave after an unbelievable 2.5+ hours in the restaurant, they were very cold and tired. Someone had double parked and was blocking us in. I called the restaurant and kindly explained the situation. The hostess stunned me to my core by being immediately rude and then hanging up on me. I saw a kitchen employee out back and he mentioned something about the valet. I proceeded to remove my poor kids from the car and take them into the restaurant. Again, a hostess (I didn't get her name, but she had blonde hair) shocked me with her viciousness. I asked where the valet was, and she was smug and cruel. She kept coming back at every question with a smug smile and narrowed eyes, letting me know that La Fondue has nothing to do with any parking lot (untrue), and that La Fondue has no valet (true, but Plumed Horse with the same owner DOES). As a hostess representing La Fondue, it was her duty to inform me that there's a valet right across the street rather than repeatedly implying that there is no valet around at all. She had a small audience of other employees (server and another host), so I'm sure that was a contributing factor to her behavior. I genuinely pity this young human for being someone who would act this way. I was a hostess (and then a server) once upon a time too, and the very heart of my job was to be warm, welcoming, responsive, and helpful--all of which I loved. This individual needs to be fired, or at least written up. I do not say this lightly. No one should be treated the way she treated us. I left with no information and searched for the valet, who I found across the street (again, dragging my exhausted and cold little girls with me). The guy over there was truly exceptional!!! He was so kind, and immediately took us across the street to the back parking lot and had the La Fondue employee move her vehicle from the spot that was blocking me. We won't be back unless something major changes, which is a shame because we loved La Fondue before. I can totally understand issues with service and wouldn't have even bothered to update my previous review if it was just the service, but I have zero tolerance for being treated like garbage, that too in front of my two little girls, after spending hundreds of dollars on a meal! read more

When you first walk in, you see a the lobby. However, as you are being taken to your table, the decor becomes very interesting. For me, it gave me "mobster" feel. We were a party of six and they sat us at a booth like table where it was completely uncomfortable and I felt that we were squashed together. I went to speak with the hostess to see if they can add a chair, but she told me I had to ask our waiter. I'm surprised she couldn't make that decision or figure out another solution. We did ask our waiter and he moved us to a very spacious table, which made it all better. We were even in an area by ourselves, which gave us private party feel! We went with the Le Freak menu, which came with a bottle of wine (Cabernet) and 12oz of a variety of meat and seafood. There was so much food that you really have to pace yourself. You first get the cheese fondue where you can dip bread, apples, and other things. We chose to go with the four cheese and cheddar & beer blend. Super yummy! Then, comes the salad, but don't fill yourself up too much with that. Finally, after the salad, the meat comes out. We choose to cook the meat rather than boil. The server went over the types of meat and seafood, but too much to remember. I wish they had name cards. We just cooked and cooked and ate as we went. Sooo much food! I was food drunk! Great experience as always at La Fondue! I took my mom here for another birthday dinner and the La Romantique deal was really worth it. It comes with the regular four course meal with the La Romantique meats plus sparkling wine for each person and a rose. I think it's only valid on Thursdays and Fridays or something like that. Our server was Jocelyn and she was very attentive. She explained each dipping sauce for the meats and which pairs best with the type of meat. The suggestions were spot on and we really enjoyed it. To begin, my go to salad is the chef's salad but my tip is to directly pack it to go since it makes you super full. We got our favorite pesto cheese fondue and got super full on all the bread and cheese. The meats for the grilling part were fresh and there was ample olive oil and garlic butter provided. Delicious even without the dipping sauces. The veggies were fun to stir fry. We tried a new chocolate fondue this time which had hazelnut mousse and mascarpone. The hazelnut flavor wasn't very strong but still delicious. Usually we go for the Flaming Tortoise because you can roast marshmallows with the flambe. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they were so nice to give an extra glass of sparkling wine! I think it's a brut champagne and I enjoy sweeter wines, but I found out that eating a grape before taking a sip really brought out some more flavor and sweetness. This is a restaurant you have to visit at least once to experience the authentic fondue experience. La Fondue means the melted. It is a well known Swiss or French cuisine. I would recommend the first timer to try the 4-course fondue experience. Minimum 2 people. Dinner starts at 4 pm when they open. They will politely ask you to finish your meal in 2.5-3 hours. I was a bit surprised by that request as Europeans take their time for dinner. Perhaps they need to fulfill the next reservation at 7 pm. I brought my own wine, the corkage fee is $30. It is worth it if you bring a nice bottle which restaurant usually charge 2-3 times higher. The 4-course starter was spinach or chef salad with many choices of dressings. I had chef salad with sweet and sour with blue cheese crumbles. The hand mixing fresh cheese fondue is delight experience (see my video). The mushrooms cheese with truffle oil was divine! Then came the main entree. We had filet mignon, chicken and Australian lamb, seafood with lobster, variety of shrimps and fish filets, scallop. Quite a feast. Chocolate fondue as the grand finale! A spontaneous trip on a weekday after a long month. Walked in with a party of 2 without a reservation and was greeted and sat immediately. This restaurant has great ambiance. Our server Jillian was stellar. Great recommendations, very kind and always was checking in with us to make sure we had what we needed for a great experience. Food was good (chocolate fondue & surf & turf) were great. Food and service get a 5 star for me. I will say, inside is very hot and smoky and really killed the 5 star experience. My friends and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We had a reservation, so we were seated soon after arrival. La Fondue has dim lighting (but not too dim that you cannot see the fondue or the hot plate in front of you) and has darker decor elements. Food: My friends and I did the Le Freak Taste of Everything. This was a way for my friend who does not have a wide palette to try a variety of different protein. We opted to do the grill to cook the entree. I didn't eat most of the entrees since I am vegetarian, but my friends enjoyed their food. The sauces that came with the entree with pretty good. For the salad, I tried both the spinach salad and the chef salad. Both are pretty good salads. For the cheese, we did the classic cheddar and the four cheese. Both were good. I preferred the four cheese. For dessert, we did the create your own with milk chocolate and oreo bits. The chocolate fondue is my favorite parts, and this time did not disappoint. Service: Service was pretty good. Our salads came out quickly. There was some wait between the cheese and entree. It doesn't start filling up until 7pm and after. The ambiance is interesting. Lots of popart-like wallpaper and the mood was moody. It was dark inside by design. We got the Le Freak tasting menu which came with 1) salad of your choice with dressing of choice. I chose the Chef salad with honey mustard, the salad alone was huge and quite filling. 2) you choose two cheese fondues. It comes with bread pieces, pickled vegetables and raw vegetables. Honestly both cheeses including the garlic forward one was so bland - we had to ask for hot sauce which they only had cayenne pepper 3) mixed proteins. most were marinated. We chose to cook it in the broth which takes 3-4 minutes for each skewer of meat to cook. The meats were average, not the best quality and were definitely masked by the marinade flavors. You also get an array of dipping sauces like chimichurri, bbq, and teriyaki etc 4) chocolate fondue you get two flavors. It came with an assortment of rice crispy treats, strawberries, bananas, cookies and cheesecake bites. The entire meal lasted 4 hours so it's definitely one you will want to pace car not race car. Overall it was fun, but not something I'd opt to do regularly. I felt so unbelievably full after that it was hard ot breathe. You could probably opt for just the cheese or just the meat fondue and call it a night. While it was fun, the foot itself wasn't memorable in the sense that it lacked flavor. read more

We got the four cheese Fondue and it left a really bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Not sure if this is usual, but can't say I enjoyed it. We celebrated a birthday here, and it was a lot of fun. The food was amazing, but it's really the whole experience that makes this place a must-visit. Come hungry - you'll leave absolutely stuffed but so satisfied! You start with a fresh individual salad and then they prepare your choice of cheese fondue tableside, complete with plenty of bites for dipping. By the time the meats arrived, we were already getting full, but there's something so fun about grilling your own selection and tasting everything exactly how you like it. (Some of the furniture is starting to be worn out. ) The food is delicious, and I appreciate that they continue to modify their recipes of sauces, salad dressing, and cheeses. The three stars is for the lack of value. At $176 for 2 ppl, their portions continue to be smaller over the years. Yes, you can ask for refills on bread and treats for the chocolate and cheese, but little changes are noticeable. Mushrooms are cut in half now, you get one piece of broccoli, and lots of pepper strips. The amount of cheese and chocolate is less than half the pot. (No point in asking for refills if you have nothing to dip in!) The most noticeable scream of "we're trimming " is that since we celebrate all birthdays here, we noticed that instead of bringing a glass of apple cider for all parties to toast and celebrate, only the birthday guest was given a glass. My boyfriend and I had a 6:00 reservation, but the evening got off to a rocky start. When we arrived, the two hosts at the front seemed either new or in training, and we were told there would be a wait because they didn't have a server available yet. While we waited, we noticed other groups--including larger parties who arrived after us--were being seated first. After about 15 minutes of being overlooked, I finally spoke up, and only then were we shown to a table. Unfortunately, we were seated in a dark corner without so much as a word from the host, which made the experience feel awkward and frustrating. To make matters worse, our waiter seemed far more attentive and friendly to other tables that were seated after us, and even gave us a noticeable side glance that didn't sit well. At that point, we asked to be relocated, as the experience already felt tainted. Thankfully, once we moved to a brighter area, things improved. A new server took over, service was much better, and we were even offered complimentary drinks as a way to make up for the rocky start. While the evening ended on a better note, the beginning was disappointing and not what I'd expect from such a long-standing Saratoga restaurant. For a place with La Fondue's reputation, I expected more professionalism from the hosts and better hospitality at the start. We came on a weekday night, early around 5:45; there were barely any people in the store, but by the time we left around three hours later, it was crowded and the air was smoky. I was thinking we would cook the meats and then dip it in the cheese, but that's not the case. What's included with this deal was a bottle of bubbles, a big salad, and then you choose your own fondue, which comes with a lot of things to dip it in like bread and vegetables. Next comes the meat which is cooked separately. Lastly you get dessert fondue with chocolate! The champagne was a nice start. The bubbles got us in the mood for food. The chef's salads that came out were enormous. I went with a sweet and sour dressing but they gave way too much and I did not like it. We chose a cajun garlic cheddar cheese combo from the suggestion of our server. I feel like it's a crowd pleaser, but I would be interested in trying the more bitter cheeses. The menu does a good job of explaining the flavors. We waited around for a while with our fondue because we thought the meat and the cheese were supposed to be eaten together. You're actually supposed to wait until you're done with the cheese in order to move onto the meat. I wish this was explained to us. They gave us an array of meats with the rundown, and I highly suggest recording or writing down the meats somewhere because we forgot what everything was after our waiter left. We cooked what seemed obvious to us. It comes with butters and various dipping sauces. I think everything tastes great when it is cooked in garlic butter. It got busy, so it was hard to flag our server down. I think we were able to see him every 25 minutes. The other server was helpful but she got increasingly stressed thorughout our time there. I can't recall much of the specific exotic meats because of all the other circumstances going on during our meal which I'm a bit sad about. When I paid the bill, they initially forgot our Groupon. They did a re-charge and the waiter explained the situation as I was signing things, but when I checked my statement, they overcharged me by like $20 lol. Had a disappointing dinner experience. Went for a birthday celebration. Ordered la Mer something :) and surf and turf. We were unfortunately seated next to a very loud ( obnoxious loud) group. That took away the one thing the place had going for it - ambience. The waitress was nice but service seemed really slow. Took us 3 hours to conplete the meal. Some of the food was ok, most of it wasnt great. Just not to my taste. My wife enjoyed the dessert. I would expect a lot more polish in the wait staff at this price point. I would like to see more thought given to dealing with a clearly VERY LOUD party, and how other patrons may feel about that. I am unlikely to ever return. read more

Fondue is expensive, so this is a 'special occasion' spot for us. Since we no longer live in the area, we don't have many opportunities to visit but when we do, we enjoy it. Ambience is nice. They keep the lighting to a minimum. So minimum that you'll have to pull out your phone light to read the menu. We noticed every other table did the same thing so we didn't feel so bad. You can choose to go with their tasting menu or get items a la carte. On 'special occasion' night we have always gone with the tasting menu cause you get a salad, a cheese fondue, a grill entree selection, and a chocolate fondue. It's always a great experience. My wife used to come with a friend for just dessert which is great for the a la carte experience. Salads (3): The salads are always good and refreshing. We both got the chef salad with different dressings. I got the Lemon Tarragon which was light and citrusy. Wife got the sweet and sour with blue cheese crumbles. Cheese Fondue (5): We chose the Breaking Blue this visit. I was sort of afraid of the blue cheese being too powerful but it wasn't. It was very mild and the cheese overall was a good blend for all the dippers. Our favorite dippers were the fruit and veggies. You can ask for more of any dippers you like. Grill Entree (4): This last visit we chose the 'Wild Thing' and 'La Fondue' for our entrees. With the 'Wild Thing' I got to try Alligator, Buffalo, Wild Duck, Ostrich, Wild Boar, and Venison! I honestly lost track of each meat I was trying cause the lighting was so low and they all sort of blended together. I clearly identified the Buffalo though since its the closest to beef. All was good and fun to try. The 'La Fondue' was more tame with Chicken Japonaise, Polynesian Chicken, Swiss Chicken, Japanese Kurabota Pork, Teriyaki Sirloin, and Wild Turkey. The main differences for these I felt were the sauces and marinades. Chocolate Fondue (5): And the grand finale! Everyone loves chocolate fondue and you get a choice of a number of fun varieties to try. We went with the 'choctastic' on our last visit. My wife felt the consistency wasn't that great. It wasn't runny or creamy. She said there must've been too much moisture to clump it up or something. I'm not an expert and just kept dipping. I don't think you can go wrong with any combo. Some are flambe though so you'll get a flame show with your dessert! Overall we always enjoy our time here and will likely come back if we're in the area for our next special occasion. read more

It had been over 20 YEARS since I came to La Fondue, but my sisters were coming for a weekend and I decided we needed to go here. My partner doesn't eat cheese, so I cannot come with him, so this was going to be perfect. Spoiler alert - it was PERFECT! The interior has changed a ton in the past 20 years, but it still has great atmosphere, I love that they keep it dark and intimate. Our server was FANTASTIC. She made solid recommendations, shared her knowledge and advice as we were debating on what to get. We are all not huge eaters, so we weren't sure we needed all the courses. So, we opted for salad, cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. We skipped the meat portion completely. We were impressed that the wine list was affordable - probably because the food is on the pricy side. After our salads, which were really good, we had the 4 cheese fondue, which we practically licked the bowl clean. OMG - it was heavenly. We recently dined at La Fondue in Saratoga and had a mixed experience. We started with the Breaking Bleu Cheese fondue, which was good. The complementary accompaniments--bread, carrots, pickles, onions, potatoes, broccoli, and grapes--were a nice touch. They gave us a lot of grapes, which was honestly FIRE. For the salad course, we ordered the spinach salad with vinaigrette. I personally wish the dressing had been sweeter--it leaned sour, which wasn't to my liking. Unfortunately, the Riesling we ordered by the bottle didn't arrive until after our salad, which was frustrating and disrupted the meal's flow. For the main course, we got La Feast and the Surf and Turf: * La Feast: I chose the Japanese Kurabuta, which had good seasoning but was tough. The teriyaki sirloin was WAY too salty, and the scallops were just mid. * Surf and Turf: The lobster was fantastic, and we substituted the shrimp for scallops, which were alright but nothing special. The sirloin, though, was incredibly juicy and flavorful--a clear highlight. One odd moment was when a waiter randomly asked us if we needed a to-go container in the middle of our meal, which felt strange and interrupted the experience. For dessert, we went with the Decadent Chocolate fondue with crème espresso, which was an excellent choice. A sweet and indulgent way to finish the meal! The atmosphere was a bit chaotic at first--it was super loud because of a family seated next to us. Once they left, it was much better. The space was also oddly dark, which wasn't bad but not something I'd typically choose. However, it didn't bother us too much. On the bright side, we were seated rather quickly (we had a reservation), and our server, Jocelyn, was fantastic--attentive, kind, and professional. Even though there were some difficult guests in her section, she handled it all gracefully and didn't let it affect her service. I wish I had her level of patience! Overall, while some aspects of the meal were enjoyable (shoutout to the lobster, sirloin, and chocolate fondue), the inconsistencies in food quality, timing, and the initial noise level left us feeling a bit disappointed. read more

The ambiance was dark , moody and romantic. Me and a girlfriend came in for early dinner and were promptly seated in this beautiful & chic space . Service was friendly , but our server had a couple of spills from our fondue pot while whipping the melting cheese and the chocolate. I'm not sure if that's okay wrt fondue etiquette.. as this seemed like a high end place with specifically trained staff. Went with the flaming tortoise for chocolate fondue and it was grand ! Loved the hazelnuts in the chocolate and the pairings .. special mention to cold custard buns in warm gooey chocolate .decadent and incredibly heavy. I was disappointed by the Cajun cheese blend though. Base of beer.. cheddar mix with siracha sauce and maybe 3 shrimp? I would have downed the calories happily if it was worth the taste. . Unfortunately I didn't like the bread or any of the base pairings of pickles or veggies that cheese fondue came with. Basically because the cheese base itself wasn't very good. We had dinner with friends here. Nice area to stroll. The restraint was clean and the front desk was very sweet. They don't have a bar to sit and have a drink while you wait. Our experience was a good one. Very expensive for what you get. Good for special occasions. We had the surf and turf and fondue feast. You cook all your food. The smoke was killin me. The spinach salad was GOOD. Very tasty. The food was tasty. Our waiter rarely came by (they were not busy) but his assistant was very attentive. I wish I got her name - she was so chatty and funny. I suggest that Management take a look at how the hostess' dress. Young lady (tall, white and blonde) had the shortest skirt on the when she bent over the table to put down the SILVERWARE and menus we got a good look at ALL her business - thong left nothing to the imagination. Prices are definitely a bit steep as expected, but the fondues are so tasty and if you're a cheese/chocolate lover this is the place for you. I really liked the dimly lit ambience. It honestly made the place so much more classy and cozy. What I really like about this place is that they start you off with salad and each person gets their own plate. It's a really good portion size and honestly I feel like you could get decently full just eating that. Also makes you feel less guilty about eating all that cheese n choccie! Their drinks are wonderful too, and pretty strong so you definitely get your money's worth. If it's a special occasion, they usually give you a champagne glass on the house! So thoughtful of them! After you choose your cheese blend, they whip it right over the stove in front of you! So so cool. Ours was nice and garlicky (the stinking rose), and they give you a bunch of bread and veggies to dip into it. You can also ask them for dipping item refills whenever! I would *definitely* not skip out on the chocolate fondue, but again, these portions are huge so don't be surprised if it's too much for 2 people! (well maybe the cheese.....we did finish that somehow LOL) The flaming tortoise (chocolate flambé) fondue was so good and they gave us sooo many things to dip, from cheesecake bites, pirouette cookies, apples, strawberries, brownies, toffee, and more! My partner and I recently went here to celebrate our anniversary and the service was amazing. Our waitress checked up on us pretty often and was very attentive. They gave us a complimentary champagne toast but our waitress noticed I didn't drink alcohol and gave me one with apple cider instead. As someone that works in the food industry, I appreciate it. The food was amazing. I wish I took more pictures. Sure the price may scare you away but the food AND experience will have you say it's worth it. read more

Visited this place with our friends and we opted in for the 4 course tasting menu. We got to try both the available salads, went for the 'la fondue' and 'la romantique' for the entrees and tried two of the cheese and dessert fondues. Overall it was a good experience, and it was interesting to see what kind of combinations pair well with cheese and chocolate fondue. The meat is not seasoned well, but there is a garlic butter you can use to cook the meat. They don't typically do grill changes so expect the butter to burn while cooking the meat. Food is a lot but great! We did the Le freak with $80 champagne, the champagne was more like $20 bucks or so, but we wanted to try the spot for the experience. First of all, there is street parking and neat entrance to the Resturant. You check In and they seat you closer to your reserved time They bring out the menu, we had picked Le freak where you get to try everything they have You pick the salads - spinach or the chef's choice. I loved the dressing, we tried the lime and the blue cheese dressing, it was delicious Then comes out the cheese fondue, we chose the stinking rose - it has Swiss cheese blend with garlic (we love garlic) and it was blended in white wine. The cheese was delicious and yes it was the most cheese I have ever had- it was good. I loved the bread dipped in it but tried a bit of everything After you finish with the cheese fondue they clear the table and bring out the grill- for cooking the meat. By this time I was full, even though I tried to save room for more items haha The meat was unique - le freak has wild stuff - literally, such as alligator, boar, buffalo, deer, etc etc I loved the shrimp and lobster, they were great! Some of the red meats just tasted the same, and even the waygu beef was chewy and not good but it is what it is After they clear the meat, then comes the desert. I know, it's a whole experience!! We had picked Choctastic - it was so much sugar but delicious. By this time I was stuffed so I could barely eat any, but I did try it with strawberries. Excellent customer service, they are friendly. The interior is interesting, dark and nice, but it can get loud and you walk out smelling like grease from the cooked food! Again it's an experience and that's part of it After my meal, I went to the Restroom before driving home and the restroom was the gruesome, worst bathroom I have ever seen. It was filled with crap literally. So I wanted to give this place 3 or even stars because of it but keeping it 4 stars for the excellent customer service! But seriously you all need to clean your bathroom! Also my fiancé mentioned that the men's bathroom had a very slippery floor, he slipped 3 times but thankfully didn't fall- imagine someone elderly falling. Came to La Fondue to celebrate our anniversary. Booked some roses and champagne and a place in their rose room. As we entered, we could smell the food right away and it was fabulous. The room itself was larger (and less exclusive) than the reservation page made it seem. Still, it was very pretty and my fiancee really enjoyed the decor. The menu is daunting for a first timer but our server helped us out, and we were soon on our way to dip things in melted cheese. The food was a but heavy but tasty. Not for the faint of heart. Overall, a great experience. The salad bowl was great and probably carried the evening for my health-conscious fiancee. read more
