We went to La Fondue to celebrate Mother's Day. It's been a long time since the last time we dined here. New location, new menu and I am sure under new management. The decor was different, dark and gothic. We had reservations and were seated immediately. There was a gold silk rose on the table for me. It took a while for our server to come to our table. We learned that Mother's Day is their busiest day of the year. The food was good and we enjoyed our experience. I think they were under staffed. So be sure to plan enough time. Our lunch was over 3 hours long.

Le freak is what we ordered! Our first visit to Le Papillon Fondue House in Saratoga was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday! The ambiance was beautiful, with dim lighting that created the perfect setting for a romantic date night. We ordered the Le Freak, and it was my first time trying so many exotic meats. To my surprise, the alligator ended up being my favorite! The best part of the experience was the interactive dining. My husband and I loved cooking our meal together, making it such a fun and memorable way to celebrate. We also enjoyed delicious espresso martinis, and the dessert was incredible--cream puffs filled with ice cream and dipped in chocolate. Every bite was amazing. We had a wonderful first experience. Shout out to our waitress she just explained everything in detail and helped us ultimately decide what route to go. Her service was amazing and she really helped us!

Overall, this place was very unique and definitely an experience! The service was amazing and the waiters were very helpful with recommendations, processes, and cooking tips for the grill. The food itself was tasty and it was fun dipping different toppings into the fondue! The interior was definitely interesting with the decorations and dim lighting, this place would be good for special occasions and fine dining (it was very pricy!) My favorite part was the chocolate fondue at the end where we got to dip so many different toppings into the chocolate, so definitely save your appetite for this!

This restaurant is definitely a fun experience. I loved the dim lighting and the service here was great! The food was deliciouss and worth the try but prepare to spend a dime.

I put my partner in charge of organizing the festivities for a combination 22 year anniversary and birthday weekend. He got us a reservation at La Fondue! Ambiance: the visual vibes are perfect! Very swanky, great decor, perfect mood lighting. And downtown Saratoga is lovely. However -- it smelled quite strongly of fish when we arrived. The whole entry area. Wasn't great and clashed with how cool the place looked. Parking: Easy peasy. There was a big lot out back and plenty of street parking, but we're also early birds and went at about 5:30 pm on a Thursday. Service: Friendly, helpful, and great at helping us figure out what to do next, since fondue definitely involves cooking your own stuff. They also so sweetly gave us free bubbly beverages with maraschino cherries to help celebrate our anniversary. Food: Unfortunately, the salads were kind of blah (felt very cafeteria-style pile of vegetables, as opposed to well composed dishes where flavors and textures were purposefully chosen), and the grilled meats (we went with the Romantique) were just ok. All of the flavor came from the sauce, the cooking medium and butter didn't seem to add much. The best part was -- unsurprisingly -- the chocolate fondue dessert. No notes on that one, it was decadent and wonderful.

We had an amazing time! Food is incredible! Many different choices and meats from all over the country. All fresh and tasty! Juan made our experience even more memorable with his attentiveness and knowledge of the menu. Thank you Juan for making this birthday dinner that much more special!

I was really excited to come here with my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary but I won't be coming back. My boyfriend ordered the $65 dozen roses when making the reservation. The roses were ready at our table with a red ribbon upon our arrival. My initial excitement was later dimmed when I realized the roses were already in bad condition and it only came with 10 roses instead of 12. One of the roses was crooked and hanging downwards like the emoji . The lighting is inconsistent throughout the restaurant: some tables had good lighting while our table was so dark that we couldn't read the menu or see our food while cooking. My photos appear brighter than reality due to my camera's night mode feature. We got 4 course fondue tasting menu for 2. We got both the chef salad and spinach salad. The salads are nothing special. The dressing comes in a sauce boat. You can pour as much as you need. For the entree, we ordered the La Romantique and Fruit de Mer. The $108 La Romantique includes: Chicken Japonaise, Teriyaki Sirloin, Black Tiger Shrimp, Filet Mignon & Lobster Tails The $126 Fruit De Mer includes: Mahi, Swordfish, Tuna Saku, Day Boat Scallops, Pacific White Shrimp, Black Tiger Shrimp, Shrimp Japonaise, Colossal Shrimp, Lobster Tails & Snow Crab The portion sizes of the fish and meats were small. The shrimps and lobster tail were the biggest things. The cuts themselves were okay but nothing too crazy. The taste was okay. We cooked it ourselves but had difficulty seeing the doneness due to how dark our table was. The wild mushroom fondue originally wasn't enjoyable since it had a strong alcohol taste but became enjoyable as the alcohol cooked out. Our server was great but the food wasn't worth it.

It was a great experience! Came here for my boyfriend and my anniversary and it was a wonderful time. Shoutout to our server Julian for the awesome recommendations! Our server was also very kind and polite, was a total delight. Food wise, we had Le Freak, with a four cheese mushroom fondue and the tortoise chocolate fondue. Both were super yummy! The Le Freak was a great experience, and gave us some ideas of what to get the next time we go (hopefully soon!) The restaurant itself is pretty big, with a dark and cool ambiance. Parking, like others have said, is a pretty rough time. The lot behind the restaurant is a bit small, but if you drive around you can definitely find parking, you just have to walk a bit. Overall a great and yummy time! Can't wait to go again :)

What happened to La Fondue?? I visited yesterday evening with my two young daughters. The food we ordered was missing a number of our typical favorites, and we couldn't manage to get anyone to bring us what we were requesting. Service was extremely painfully SLOW and terrible with multiple errors, and our server might have been on his first shift ever (which is totally okay--everyone needs to start somewhere). What wasn't okay was requesting things over and over and never receiving them when the restaurant was relatively empty. What wasn't okay was leaving us standing near our table for ages when I requested the check from multiple employees, and then our server finally leaving with my phone in hand to go and make the payment elsewhere in the restaurant. I still tipped well, of course. But what came next was very upsetting. I had parked in the back parking lot because there was no signage indicating that it wasn't a lot for customers. I was eventually told by the valet outside of the Plumed Horse that the signage blew away long ago in storms and was never replaced, so people park there all the time. It just looks like a regular parking lot! When I brought my little girls out to leave after an unbelievable 2.5+ hours in the restaurant, they were very cold and tired. Someone had double parked and was blocking us in. I called the restaurant and kindly explained the situation. The hostess stunned me to my core by being immediately rude and then hanging up on me. I saw a kitchen employee out back and he mentioned something about the valet. I proceeded to remove my poor kids from the car and take them into the restaurant. Again, a hostess (I didn't get her name, but she had blonde hair) shocked me with her viciousness. I asked where the valet was, and she was smug and cruel. She kept coming back at every question with a smug smile and narrowed eyes, letting me know that La Fondue has nothing to do with any parking lot (untrue), and that La Fondue has no valet (true, but Plumed Horse with the same owner DOES). As a hostess representing La Fondue, it was her duty to inform me that there's a valet right across the street rather than repeatedly implying that there is no valet around at all. She had a small audience of other employees (server and another host), so I'm sure that was a contributing factor to her behavior. I genuinely pity this young human for being someone who would act this way. I was a hostess (and then a server) once upon a time too, and the very heart of my job was to be warm, welcoming, responsive, and helpful--all of which I loved. This individual needs to be fired, or at least written up. I do not say this lightly. No one should be treated the way she treated us. I left with no information and searched for the valet, who I found across the street (again, dragging my exhausted and cold little girls with me). The guy over there was truly exceptional!!! He was so kind, and immediately took us across the street to the back parking lot and had the La Fondue employee move her vehicle from the spot that was blocking me. We won't be back unless something major changes, which is a shame because we loved La Fondue before. I can totally understand issues with service and wouldn't have even bothered to update my previous review if it was just the service, but I have zero tolerance for being treated like garbage, that too in front of my two little girls, after spending hundreds of dollars on a meal!

Welcome Le Freak....12oz of meat and seafood.

When you first walk in, you see a the lobby. However, as you are being taken to your table, the decor becomes very interesting. For me, it gave me "mobster" feel. We were a party of six and they sat us at a booth like table where it was completely uncomfortable and I felt that we were squashed together. I went to speak with the hostess to see if they can add a chair, but she told me I had to ask our waiter. I'm surprised she couldn't make that decision or figure out another solution. We did ask our waiter and he moved us to a very spacious table, which made it all better. We were even in an area by ourselves, which gave us private party feel! We went with the Le Freak menu, which came with a bottle of wine (Cabernet) and 12oz of a variety of meat and seafood. There was so much food that you really have to pace yourself. You first get the cheese fondue where you can dip bread, apples, and other things. We chose to go with the four cheese and cheddar & beer blend. Super yummy! Then, comes the salad, but don't fill yourself up too much with that. Finally, after the salad, the meat comes out. We choose to cook the meat rather than boil. The server went over the types of meat and seafood, but too much to remember. I wish they had name cards. We just cooked and cooked and ate as we went. Sooo much food! I was food drunk! Lol But it doesn't end there, because the chocolate fondue was next. Chocotastic and milk chocolate is what we went with. Super, super yummy!!!! I'm sure going with a significant other is fun, but going as a group was a blast!

Great experience as always at La Fondue! I took my mom here for another birthday dinner and the La Romantique deal was really worth it. It comes with the regular four course meal with the La Romantique meats plus sparkling wine for each person and a rose. I think it's only valid on Thursdays and Fridays or something like that. Our server was Jocelyn and she was very attentive. She explained each dipping sauce for the meats and which pairs best with the type of meat. The suggestions were spot on and we really enjoyed it. To begin, my go to salad is the chef's salad but my tip is to directly pack it to go since it makes you super full. We got our favorite pesto cheese fondue and got super full on all the bread and cheese. The meats for the grilling part were fresh and there was ample olive oil and garlic butter provided. Delicious even without the dipping sauces. The veggies were fun to stir fry. We tried a new chocolate fondue this time which had hazelnut mousse and mascarpone. The hazelnut flavor wasn't very strong but still delicious. Usually we go for the Flaming Tortoise because you can roast marshmallows with the flambe. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they were so nice to give an extra glass of sparkling wine! I think it's a brut champagne and I enjoy sweeter wines, but I found out that eating a grape before taking a sip really brought out some more flavor and sweetness. Overall, can't wait to be back again for whatever special occasion we celebrate next!

This is a restaurant you have to visit at least once to experience the authentic fondue experience. La Fondue means the melted. It is a well known Swiss or French cuisine. I would recommend the first timer to try the 4-course fondue experience. Minimum 2 people. Dinner starts at 4 pm when they open. They will politely ask you to finish your meal in 2.5-3 hours. I was a bit surprised by that request as Europeans take their time for dinner. Perhaps they need to fulfill the next reservation at 7 pm. I brought my own wine, the corkage fee is $30. It is worth it if you bring a nice bottle which restaurant usually charge 2-3 times higher. The 4-course starter was spinach or chef salad with many choices of dressings. I had chef salad with sweet and sour with blue cheese crumbles. The hand mixing fresh cheese fondue is delight experience (see my video). The mushrooms cheese with truffle oil was divine! Then came the main entree. We had filet mignon, chicken and Australian lamb, seafood with lobster, variety of shrimps and fish filets, scallop. Quite a feast. Chocolate fondue as the grand finale! I ordered Chocotastics! Dark chocolate with hazelnut and mascarpone cheese. Fruits, pastries to dip. Total experience was $160pp. A fine dining that was memorable for a special occasion.

Ask the Community - La Fondue

Is the outdoor seating just a handful of 2 person rod iron chairs and tables (as seen in the photos)?

There's a mix of nicer seating/booths, but there's also a bunch of plastic chairs, surprisingly!

How much is corkage? Not sure if the rate has changed? Also, is there a corkage free day? Thank you in advance.

Our corkage fee is $30 per 750ml bottle and is currently waived on Mondays and Tuesdays for a limited time. Please check https://www.lafondue.com/experiences/ for all current promotions.

How is the menu on holidays like mother's day , valentines, how are the prices for two . Would the Groupon cupón work on these days?

Groupon won't work on Prefix holiday menu. please check https://www.lafondue.com/experiences/ for all the current promotions, reserve Le Freak directly on our reservation page. Thanks!

Is there a dress code? Or is jeans and a T-shirt ok?

Smart Casual, Jeans and a T-shirt is very fine.

How much is the Le Freak per person?

$175 per person on weekends. $179 for 2 people Monday-Thursday

Is it okay to take a baby , toddler to this place?

Absolutely NOT!! This is a romantic restaurant and the last thing others want is to listen to your crying baby!!!

If we buy the Groupon for $179 what additional costs are added onto our bill?

If you pay $179 for the groupon and give a 20% tip if you purchase nothing else you are looking at $430 value and figure (20% service charge, 20% tip, about 10% in sales tax) it comes to about $179 + $215 = $394 for two people.

    What is the Corkage fee?

    30 dollars

    Is outdoor dining available?

We seating available on our front and side terraces. The terraces are fully enclosed and temperature controlled.

Is the a la carts menu priced to 2 people?

Yes! All of our prices are priced for two people.

I read that La Fondue is charging a service fee of $50. Is that true?

The menu states "a 20% service charge will be applied to all items". This is not in lieu of the tip to your server, that is separate! If you look up reviews under La Fondue and go to photos, you can find some pictures of the most recent menu(s).…

Why is the website broken? I have group in coupon and trying to reach them to make reservation, but not reachable. What is the best way to reach them?

    Open Table for reservations.

I notice that it is not kid friendly. How about a 17 year old?

Why do you think this is not kid friendly? I literally saw 3 kids eating there last week, age around 12

Are prices for two, or per person?

The four course tasting menu price listed is for 2 people.

Do they allow just dessert? And is there a certain time?

Yes, you may go in and just order a round of their chocolate fondue. Or just the meat, or just the cheese fondue, you aren't limited to the full-course. It's just cheaper to do the courses if you plan on having a full meal. Anytime should be…

Is the La Fondue 4-course tasting menu price for 2 people or for each person?

The listed price is for 2 people.

    Do they allow only dessert?

Yes, you can do desert only, but a reservation is still recommended.

Has anyone with a nut and peanut allergy dined here ? What sort of oil do they use? How about the chocolate fondue - any added almond essence, for example? Thanks

I'm not exactly sure what oil they use. My boyfriend has a pine nut allergy. We just notified our server prior to ordering and they made sure the chef didn't include anything with that.

I am quite confused with menu, how does the pricing actually work?

There's a pre-fixe style menu, but you can also order a la carte. The combinations are like the pre-fixe price which includes 4 courses, salad, cheese fondue, entree, and dessert. Whatever the price for the entree, is the price for all 4 courses.…

Do you offer vegan options? Ie. Soy cheese fondue?

    Nope! No vegan cheese.

We wanted to sit outdoors to enjoy the warm weather, and after maybe ten minutes, we were seated. I really enjoy the setup of the restaurant. The interior feels like a classic Italian spot, and the exterior is romantic and inviting. The food was okay but not life changing. We started out with warm bread and an interesting cheese sauce that kind of tasted like spray cheese in a spreadable format. The pastas were good, but I prefer a more al dente texture, and their pasta is extremely well-cooked. So expect a soft, almost mushy pasta. The tagliatelle bolognese had a delicious, flavorful sauce. The linguine pescatore featured a creamy sauce and plenty of well-seasoned seafood. The gnocchi margherita was extremely okay - the taste of the dough overpowered any semblance of sauce. I will mention the portions were definitely controlled - it wasn't a particularly filling meal, and the prices weren't cheap. The general ambiance of this restaurant was the highlight, and the food wasn't bad either.

Last night we had dinner (about 20 people) at Be.Steak. And, it absolutely live up to its Michelin designation. The location is bright. It is in Campbell at the premier shopping center. Both exterior and interior aspects were strategically and carefully designed to match its quality of service, quality of food and its high-end pricing. I am not very much into fusion food, and I don't think Be.Steak is a fusion restaurant. The dishes are original, but very well seasoned. The flavors have a lot of sharpness, but there is always not lighter and more subtle aspect of every dish. I don't want to be technical here, but whoever designed these dishes gave a very careful and creative thought on how each and diners will enjoy every dish. I am certain that these creations were technically tested to ensure that all the flavors are very natural. "World Class" -Be.Steak. Thank you for the awesome food and service last night. We were welcomed with a chicken bone broth which was full of umami flavor. Got the Hokkaido scallops and classic wedge as a starter, the cheese was a bit too salty for my taste and was overpowering the entire thing. For my main I got the prime rib which was huge, can definitely split it between two - very tender. For desert, the sticky toffee pudding which comes with a table show - I think this was the MVP of the night. The Ramos Gon Fizz is a must in my opinion.

Last time we were here was about 10-20 years ago and I rememver having a good expeiance and the food being very good. Walked and hoped for a table as we did not have any reservations. We were lucky and got seated right away. We were here a bit before the dinner crowd wich helped. We were seated right away and looked over the menu. Our server Joel was efficient and checked on us to make sure we had evrything we needed for a positive dinning experience. The bus boy who was not a boy but a man was very friendly and helpful. He gave good insight on the popular entrees and drinks. So what did we order? Drinks Testa PINOT $23.00 1glass BLACKBERRY LEMON DROP $17.00 Ketel vodka, fresh lemon, muddled blackberries, triple, blackberry simple Enjoyed this drink very much. They did not skimp on the vodka, but the sugar balanced it out. BLOOD ORANGE MARTINI $17.00 Hanger one orange blossom vodka, blood orange puree, triple, fresh lime, dehydrated orange Enjoyed this drink to, didn't skimp on the vodka and the blood orange gave it a good fruity flavor APPETIZER STEAMED MUSSELS & CLAMS $26.00 traditional style broth with tomatoes, garlic, onion, white wine, clam nectar, scallions and butter SALAD ROASTED BEET & GOAT CHEESE SALAD $22.00 baby spinach tossed with sherry vinaigrette, toasted hazelnuts and red onion paired with warm beets and goat cheese drizzled with aged balsamic reduction Bread Basket $4.00 I thought bread was complementary, but obviously NOT ENTRÉES SEAFOOD LINGUINE $37.00 Fresh Dungeness crab, prawns, scallions, lemon confit, roasted peppers, grilled asparagus, shaved parmesan, garlic-butter sauce This entrée was very flavorful however, I did not see any scallions on my plate, and the dungeon is crab was almost nonexistent. There were three prawns, which were really good. I just wish this entrée came with more seafood versus pasta. I also felt it was a bit pricey for the amount of seafood that was in the entrée. CHICKEN PARMESAN $33.00 The chicken Parmesan was very good and well prepared. It came on top of pasta and it was seasoned well. DESSERT MIXED BERRY PUFF PASTRY $12.00 Fresh strawberry, blackberry & blueberry compote sandwiched between a crisp puff pastry with fresh whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Compote was just ok, I expected a thicker rich compote. FYI A 3.5% convenience fee will be applied to all credit cards so remember to bring cash to avoid this fee.

He gave me all the pros for each spot. If I wanted music from the band outside, I could sit near the entrance and if I wanted more quiet, he offered me the back or the window. I love this! I ordered a Moscow Mule off menu and they were able to accommodate me! Every item off the menu was absolutely DELICIOUS! I didn't want it to end. We got the Brussels sprouts to start. They were perfectly cooked, moist, and tasty. I'd 100% recommend. Then we got the surf and turf spring rolls! They were amazing! The poke rice cakes were amazing and the fried mushrooms were delicious. The sauce they were served on was a perfect dip. Lastly, we got a tofu spaghetti dish. I'm not sure what it was called! It was also yum! Overall, the experience was immaculate. Our server, Sean, was the kindest. He brought us a purse holder for everyone, got down to our level to give recommendations, and cared! The highlight dish for us were the savory waffles. Amazing flavor, airy and crisp. The butter that came with it was also SO GOOD on the waffle. Like who knew waffles could be so goooooood, and savory waffles...5/5 probably the best savory waffles I have ever had. Drinks! I almost forgot. My friend and I got the mango margs and they were so delicious! The cups they came in were refreshing the rim was lined with tajin.

For $18.99, you get your choice of two proteins, rice, salad, and miso soup, which is a pretty generous meal for the price. We all upgraded to the premium proteins for an extra $6 each. We tried both the short ribs and the ribeye. While the short ribs were good, I actually preferred the thinly sliced ribeye--it cooked quickly, stayed tender, and had great flavor. One pleasant surprise was the salad. It wasn't just an afterthought; it was fresh, well dressed, and honestly as good as the side salads served at many Japanese restaurants. The miso soup was also solid and rounded out the meal nicely. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the s'mores dessert. At $3, you get one small rectangle of Hershey's chocolate, one marshmallow, and two graham crackers. The portions are tiny, and if you have kids, they'll almost certainly want more than one. By the time you order enough to make everyone happy, it doesn't feel like much of a value. Overall, this isn't the best Japanese BBQ I've had, but that's not really the point. It's a consistently good, affordable meal with quality ingredients and generous portions for the price. If you're looking for a satisfying lunch that won't break the bank, Kura's lunch special is an easy five-star value.
