Following our Dodgers to SF for the weekend we stayed in Oakland. We were getting back into the area of our hotel a little late and this restaurant was open and fairly busy. The service was good, and from what I could see the drinks looked good. We didn't get into the drink menu since we were pretty hungry. I ordered the Arroz con Marisco and my wife ordered the Lomo Saltado. The marisco dish was delicious, plenty of seafood, tasty, and a nice portion. The Lomo Saltado had so much flavor. The sauce, the onions, the steak and the papas, all delicious. It's pretty obvious we were sharing both dishes. Definitely a place if you like Peruvian food or if you've never had it a nice spot to try it out. Again, service was very good. Not only was our server paying plenty of attention the bartender even stopped by a couple of times to see how we were doing. Nice Oakland surprise.

Great restaurant and experience although on the pricy side! Interior music and dining atmosphere was nice and casual. Awesome empanadas, and lomo Saltado. Server was clearly new hire but was attentive and great service. Server provided us a complimentary soup with our order which was also exceptional. Parking is tricky especially in the rough neighborhood of Oakland where your car is never safe.

I always walk by here and finally decided to give it a try , and man was I glad I did. I came in at 3pm on a Saturday, expecting it to be busy but it was completely empty. The employee quickly greeted me, and provided me with a menu when I told her I would be ordering takeout. They conveniently have two menus one vegetarian menu and one regular menu. I'd seen plenty of reviews on the anticuchos, aka the beef heart skewers, and I thought I would live a little and give it a try. I also ordered the lomo saltado, which is thinly cut steak served with vegetables rice and French fries. While I was waiting for my food, I could not help but appreciate the interior of this restaurant. This place is designed exceptionally well. This would be a perfect atmosphere for a lunch/dinner date or to meet friends. I was utterly amazed at the interior and ambiance of this restaurant. The food was prepared in about 10 minutes, and the entire time I could smell the delicious and mesmerizing aromas coming from the kitchen. I regretted getting my food to go because those savory scents made me want to dig into the food as soon as it came out. Once I finally got enjoy the food, my only two regrets were: 1. Why didn't I order more menu items ? 2. Why haven't I tried this place earlier? The anticuchos was marinated and cooked to perfection. Beef heart is not something you see on a menu often and a lot of places that serve it tend to overcook it which causes it to be overly tough and chewy. You only get one skewer for this order, but there is a good amount of beef on that one skewer. This dish is served with sliced potatoes that added a nice textural balance to the dish. The sauce they serve it with is a bit spicy, so test it out first before bathing your food in it. The anticuchos is probably not for everyone, as beef heart has a slight iron like taste to it that some people might not like if they are not accustomed to it. The lomo saltado was pretty tasty, however I thought there was far too much rice and not enough steak and vegetables compared to most places I've gotten this dish in the past. The rice was your typical white rice, nothing special. But the beef and vegetables were seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection. Price wise, this restaurant is not cheap but not overly expensive. For the two dishes I got, it came out to around $42 not including gratuity. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Peruvian food and/or is looking for a place with a nice ambiance to enjoy a meal alone, a dare, or friends/family. I will definitely be returning and checking out some of their other menu items.

Arroz con pollo - rice was salty & comforting, chicken was good!

We loved the ceviche -comes with crispy corn kernels, so yucca, and is so flavorful (not too spicy). The drinks are great, the decor is well thought out, they bring out this delicious broth as an appetizer with bread (I don't eat gluten, but I love the broth!). LIVE LATIN MUSIC on Friday nights! We get to eat and take little breaks to dance between tables in between. Service is good, no complaints!

    Lunch special, lomo saltado.

Food was good. Price was reasonable. I ordered the lunch special; beef lomo saltado..it was ok but I think they overdid it with the vinegar..it was not overwhelming but you could definitely taste it. My sister had the Aji gallina.... I didn't I will definitely go back and try their ceviches! The place was clean. The service was very good and friendly.

Looking for lunch after 2pm yesterday - a Sunday - I strolled on in. Upon walking in I liked the decor of the restaurant. It's not too bright and it's not too dark, but the light is dim. My waiter was sweet, and recommended the beef empanada. It was really good, and the bread was thick and sweet as though it were baked in honey. It was more like a sweet empanada that I would have for breakfast as there was some egg in it. It was served with a tangy orange sauce. The sauce was okay, but i prefer a cilantro sauce with it. I've had pollo Saltado before but I really wanted to try the empanada and it didnt disappoint. I'll definitely be back. I received attentive service and I am excited about the rest of the menu. Also, there are vegetarian options. That's always a plus.

From live music on the weekends…read moreto an amazing lomo saltado and any kind of sauce you can imagine, this place is amazing. Their flan is to die for, and the owner is pretty nice. Now, the only gripes that I have with this place are: - Sometimes there are certain staff members that are less than friendly. If it wasn't for the amazing food and the integrity I've known the owner to have, that would have completely ruined my experience. - I don't know what it is, but sometimes it takes a little longer to get my order, so I wouldn't come here if you're absolutely starving. - Lastly, I wish I could place an order on the phone. It would save a lot of time. Overall, though, this place still deserves a 5 star because the food is absolutely amazing, and the vibes make you feel amazing.

We stumbled onto this place after a killer mid-morning walk by the Bay. We had skipped breakfast,…read moreso we were totally starving and needed a quick bite before our next appointment. Luckily for us, while most of the stalls at the Public Market weren't even open yet, Paradita was ready to save the day! We ordered the grilled pork belly on salad, the mushroom empanadas, and a passion fruit drink to wash it all down. Side note: their cocktails sounded incredible, but at 10 AM, we figured it was a tad too early to start day-drinking, lol! The food was absolutely stellar: The Grilled Pork Belly: Incredible. Super tender, not overly fatty, and packed with flavor. It sits on a tasty vinaigrette salad, and the potatoes on the side were executed perfectly--nice and fluffy on the inside with a perfectly roasted skin. The Mushroom Empanadas: These were unique! Instead of the typical heavy, deep-fried style, they use a flaky puff pastry for the shell. The filling was savory and so delicious. Prices were reasonable, and the owner was helpful and friendly while we ordered. If you're at the Public Market, I highly recommend checking this spot out! They totally crushed it.
