    Tripe stew

Second time coming here but first time coming here with a group and was amazed at the variety of food items here. I may be a little biased since whenever I do go to an Argentine restaurant its usually in a party of two and Ill usually just order an Argentine grill, but with a larger group I was able to explore more varieties this time around. Ordered the shrimp avocado salad, cow tongue, tripe soup, grilled provolone with prosciutto along with a standard Argentine grill and can honestly say everything was a hit here. Everything was tender, flavored with a heaping of garlic and oil and was decently priced as well. Friendly attentive staff and a nice cozy old school ambiance, this place is a gem that hits on all marks for large groups

I'm usually not in the area, as parking can be difficult. We carpooled, knowing it could be tough to find a spot. We got lucky with a spot a couple blocks away, but I would recommend carpooling or taking public transit. We had a reservation, since we were a big group. It wasn't too crowded when we got there on a Friday evening, but it definitely got more crowded later on. We were seated in the back, which was great for us to eat and chill. The complimentary bread, butter and chimichurri was fantastic. They were so good, that we got a couple more baskets of bread. The service was friendly and attentive. The Grilled Provolone with Prosciutto was perfectly cheesy and salty, which went great on the complimentary bread. Definitely eat this hot. The Calf Tongue had great texture, sliced at a nice thickness. Flavor-wise it was garlic heavy, so make sure you like garlic! The Shrimp and Avocado Salad (Small) was fresh with a great balance of ingredients. The small was more than enough to go around, so if you're a smaller group, I'd stick to the small. The Cazuela De Mondongo was flavorful with tender meat. I only had a bite, but the general consensus was the same. It comes with rice, so make sure to soak up all that stew! We got the Argentinian Grill, which served 3-4 people (we got x2, which meant 4 total sides): -Skirt Steak: was the best cut overall. It was well cooked at medium rare -Sweet Bread: I hadn't had this before and I enjoyed the texture and flavor. It is very tender. -Short Ribs: was too chewy, as I couldn't bite through it. Maybe it got a bit overcooked, since it was sitting at the bottom of the pile of meats. -Flank Steak: was a bit overdone. I added some chimichurri and onions for more flavor. -Blood Sausage: nice crumbly texture. The flavor is not too strong. -Sausage: decent snap, on the salty side, but still tasty -French Fires Provencal: perfectly crispy. Had a good amount of parsley, but could use more garlic (though there was so much garlic elsewhere, we didn't really need more) -Sauteed Onions: went well with the meats, as it added extra flavor -Sauteed Spinach: typical sauteed spinach -Sauteed Broccoli: typical sauteed broccoli Although the grill combo is good to try out the meats, it's better to pick and choose the meats you actually enjoyed. It definitely feeds 4 people (if you get a couple appetizers, feeds 3 otherwise). We were all full and had a little leftovers. I also tried a sip of the Red Sangria, and it was good. Mellow in flavor, which I enjoyed. Overall, a cozy spot for some Argentinian food if you're in the area.

I wanted to celebrate a late valentine's dinner with my boyfriend and he was in the mood for skirt steak so decided to stop here. It has a very old school feel once you step inside, the walls are covered with pictures of the owner with celebrities, food blogger reviews and other historical pieces of the restaurant. The restaurant is very small but it feels very comforting and cozy. Our server was polite and not overly nice which is great when you are trying to enjoy a romantic meal with your partner. He came around to take our order and bring bread. We ordered a small of sangria, fried calamari, skirt steak and shrimp franceses with a side of sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. The sangria was sweet but not overly sweet and I loved that the jar was not filled to the rim with ice. The fried calamari was pretty good; not the best I have ever had but still good. The shrimp franceses was very tasty, had a good amount of citrus and the shrimp was huge. The spinach was a bit overpowering, definitely good for someone who is a spinach lover. I tried a piece of the skirt steak and it was cooked a perfect medium rare with the most tender texture. The mashed potatoes were good but again not the best I have had. The perfect end to our meal was a piece of tres leches; it was sweet and moist. I fell in love with this place and will be bringing my family next time so they can also enjoy this delicious Argentine cuisine.

Got our Argentinian fix on for a group get together. Staff and service was great and spot on. They did forgot 2 items we ordered but since the portions were so large they weren't needed. Highlights are definitely the chimichuri dipping sauce, the skirt steak and the shrimp avocado salad. All were made well and made a great dinner. The restaurant doesn't wow or stand out but it makes a great meal.

This restaurant is one of the best I have ever tried. The food delicioso! And the service was great everyone was super friendly. They speak English and Spanish, and there were guitarist playing and taking requests. You have to go here, definitely part of the NY experience. The ambiance was really good, 100% family friendly.

Food was very good and fresh. Wine was great. Service was ok. The heat was on very high making it very uncomfortable. I don't recommend their flan for dessert. It was rubbery and too sweet.

One of my buddies invited me to have dinner at LA Fusta on Saturday night and since it had been a while since I came, I accepted. The parking in this area has always been challenging, but the meal that awaits you here is certainly worth looking for parking! As I mentioned before, I had not been here for a while but there was a sense of familiarity walking in the front. This place has been a staple of the neighborhood for decades and still did not disappoint. The owner recognized both my buddy and I and greeted us which is very nice of her. The waiter who has been here for decades also recognized us and gave us a warm family style welcome. We were both not having any alcohol because of lent and they understood immediately. The waiter quickly made a ginger ale and cranberry juice which was quite refreshing. I ordered it 2 more times during the meal. Normally a pitcher of red sangria would have been in the table! I will certainly do that next time I return. They are known for their delicious empanadas! They are so delish. Instead, we ordered a shrimp cocktail and the watercress / Shrimp salad. This salad consists of quite a few shrimps, watercress, red onions, tomatoes, lime beans, avocado in a vinaigrette base. It just tasted so fresh and good. Perfect to start the meal. We both ordered the skirt steak, fries and spinach. There could not have been a more satisfying meal for that night than this! The fries were golden crisp and the spinach was sauteed perfectly for me. If we were not so full, we would have finished with the desserts they offer. Maybe order dessert on another night. I am actually looking forward to coming back to dine here again!

    parrillada americana
    Hansel B.

A good Argentinian bbq place with huge portions. Lots of meat. We ordered some empanadas for apps and then straight to the main attraction, the Parillada. The two main variations of parrillada are the Argentinian and the American. The only difference is that they swap out a couple of the meats on the american (it has chicken and pork chop). The sides are a little weak and wish they had other options, but you can't go wrong with all the meats dipped in some chimichurri sauce. I highly recommend sharing a plate when you come here, other wise you'll need a nap right away!

Cuisine: 8 Service: 6 Decor: 6 Value: 8 Overall: 7 My friends and I have been coming here for over a decade. It's a solid place when you are looking for some good Argentinian cuisine. On this night, two of us were in the mood for their tender Tripe Stew, vinegary Calf Tongue, and juicy Skirt Steak. Unfortunately, they didn't have two out of the three items, but the meal was still delicious. Beef Empanada - the skin could be a bit more crispy, but the filling was tasty, though I wished it was a bit more moist. Not bad. Cream of Shrimp Soup - more like a creamy chicken soup with pieces of shrimp, but still pretty yummy. Grilled Provolone w/ Prosciutto - cheesiness galore, which mozzarella covering pieces of prosciutto sitting on top of pieces of provolone. Grilled Skirt Steak (large) - pièce de résistance of our meal. Never fails to be amazing. So good I don't even need their flavorful house made chimichurrri. If you're looking for a fantastic piece of beef ly goodness without going to the fancy steak houses in Manhattan, just pop in here for a bite. Grilled Short Ribs are quite mouth watering as well. Enjoy!

    Eterna T.

Really delicious Argentinian skirt steak. The lunch special is a good deal ($15) even if the steak portion is a bit smaller because it comes with a filling side and a huge bowl of really fresh tasting salad plus soft hot bread with butter and chimichurri sauce! All of it was good. I ordered medium rare because I was afraid they might overcook the steak but they didn't (it was truly a medium rare) so next time I might level up a bit to medium even though I thought it was also fine as is. Apparently the short ribs were also pretty good. Would definitely return!

Chorizo for appetizer great tasting but u may not need it they start u off w some warm bread & cheese, salami app very good depending on how hungry u are I'd say u can skip the appetizer. Main dishes Milanesa à la napolitana this was good, way too many onions but good comes with rice & beans. I had the Pechuga de pollo la provenzal, yumm this was delicious the sauce is so tasty, I got it w tostones great since dipping into the sauce. Next time, Ice tea & Sprite for drinks not bad, no apps since they start u off w that bread. I had the Meat special #4 , This comes with 2 pieces of steak & chorizo , got it w tostones the meat was very flavorful, cooked just right , comes w a chimichurri sauce so good. We also had the Pollo Provenzal again, man that sauce is amazing got it w fried yuca, it was very good. This place is a one stop shop, butcher style Meats for sale, some Argentinian desserts, candy & merchandise they seem to have a little bit of everything. Good size location, decent decor & service. Prices are seasonable since they do give u a good portion size. Good neighborhood spot, this place was a good find & chances are we will continue to visit from time to time.

That was enough for us to decide we will not be returning. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years. The food has generally been good, which is why my family continued returning and recommending it to others. Our history with the restaurant has not been without issues. Years ago, we stopped coming after a Mother's Day incident involving my grandmother. We had been seated in the upstairs dining room (when it was still open), only to later be told by the owner that we did not have a reservation and that we had to leave. After several years, we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and eventually started coming back again. Unfortunately, today confirmed that the earlier incident was not simply bad luck. I was dining with my parents. We ordered two steaks, two appetizers, three sides, a bottle of wine and later a second bottle (of which we only drank half), along with four after-dinner drinks, cappuccino, and dessert. It was clearly a very busy day, and service was slower than usual. Because of the restaurant's pace, our meal ended up lasting a little over three hours. We were patient the entire time and never complained. After we finished eating and were simply finishing our drinks, the owner, Marcelo, approached our table and remarked that we had been there for three hours and were now only drinking alcohol, indirectly suggesting that his establishment was not a bar but a place for dining. Considering that we had just spent several hundred dollars and have been customers for decades, the comment was unnecessary and unprofessional. We immediately asked for the check and left. For context, I am a physician and understand the pressures of demanding work environments. However, professionalism and respect toward customers should always come first. Over the years, my family has typically spent between $300 and $500 per visit here. Unfortunately, after this experience, this will be the last time we come. There are many excellent Argentinian and Uruguayan steakhouses where customers are treated with appreciation and respect, and that is where we will be going moving forward.

Excellent shrimp in garlic as well. I went to this Argentine spot a couple of days ago with 6 others, having previously been to their long-running Corona location a good while ago. This new location, by comparison, has only been open for a few months. The spot is casual, and the staff is friendly. Before the rest arrived, a few people ordered drinks, including some Mexican beers and, for me, a Quilmes. As with their other location, they gave us some toasted bread and sausages to begin with, which were tasty. There was a nice fragrant chimichurri sauce on the table. We started with two appetizers. The better app was an obligatory one for Argentine parilladas, Provoleta, or Provolone a la Parrilla, listed as grilled provolone in oregano sauce for $11.90. There were also some olives and some yellow pickled peppers, and it was standard and tasty, with a mild oregano flavor. The other one was the $12.90 Ensalada de Aguacate, or in other words, an avocado salad, with some red wine vinegar, olive oil, and Italian dressing on the side. There was plenty of very good quality avocado in there, but the salad otherwise was boring, with mostly lettuce along with some sliced tomatoes, onions, and some cucumber. The main dishes, of course, consisted of two of their parillada, a mixed grill platter, with both of them being ordered medium rare. The first one was their standard Parillada Para Dos o Tres Personas with skirt steak, short rib, sweetbread, tripe, kidney, and two sausages; black and Argentine. For the 2/3 person portion, it was $65.90, and it came with two sides. The Skirt Steak/Entraña on both this and the other mixed platter was wonderful, being tender and juicy with plenty of beef flavor. The Short Ribs/Costillas were flavorful, though a tad fatty. In terms of the achuras, or offal, my favorite of the bunch was the Sweetbreads/Mollejas, being perfectly cooked with a soft texture. I also loved the Tripe/Tripa, which more resembled intestines, which were clearly cleaned very well, as they lacked any gamey flavor. The texture otherwise was nice, and this was most of the others' favorite offal. The Kidney/Riñón was most of the other people's least favorite, with the strongest flavor, but as someone who likes liver, I still enjoyed it to an extent. In terms of sausages, the Argentine Sausage/Chorizo had a mild flavor, and the Morcilla/black sausage was excellent with a snappy casing and a very mild iron flavor. Compared to last time, this was even better. The more expensive of the mixed grills we got was the Parillada Especial Para Dos o Tres Personas, with more skirt steak, along with Flat Steak, flat rib, short rib, shell steak, and sirloin steak. This was $80.90 with 2 sides, and was also excellent. My least favorite, as before, was the short ribs, with the rest of the steaks having a mix of textures, with my probable favorites being the Flat/Vacio and the Sirloin/Cuadril. It was a ton of perfectly cooked meat, but it felt a bit boring by comparison this time, with the offal being so good on the other platter, compared to the other location. Our only other main dish was the $25.90 Camarones al Ajillo, or shrimp sauteed in garlic sauce, which was also served with one side. For a steak place, the shrimp here were better than most steakhouses, being plump and juicy. The delicious garlic sauce paired wonderfully and was especially good with the various sides. This was an expected hit and a necessary bite between all the various meats. For the free sides, we got two of the Plátanos Maduros, along with Arroz con Habichuelas, Ensalada Rusa, and Papas a la Provencal. Our favorites were the sweet plantains and the rice, especially with the meat juices or garlic sauce added. The Russian potato salad reminded me of a thicker version of salad Olivier, with plenty of mayo. The papas were the plainest, and I presume the Papas Frita/French Fries were better, but we chose not to order them. As we were already very full with a bit of leftovers, the postres/dessert was Panqueques Con Dulce De Leche for $9.90. These consist of crepes filled with milk caramel, and they were rich and tasty. It was great to share, and it was a good ending to the meal. We gave a generous tip, got leftovers, and still spent around $38 a person for some excellent food. Would recommend heavily, just like their other location. Rounding up to 5, or rather cinco estrellas.

For one thing, everyone who works there is so welcoming and friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. I was there with my husband and brother, and we shared the ham croquette appetizer and one of their meat platters that came with two sides (we opted for the potato salad and roasted potatoes). We also shared a bottle of Malbec. The croquettes were perfectly salty and crispy, and the filling had a nice texture. The meats were so tender and well seasoned, and the sauces they provided (chimichurri and two different hot sauces) took the meats to another level. The potato salad was nice and creamy, and the carrots and peas added a nice touch. The roasted potatoes were delicious as well. I will definitely be back soon to try more dishes!
