My first time here! We had a party of 11 and had made a reservation! We had no problems being seated and service was fantastic from a waiter named Zach! The bread they bring to your table is Fantastic! My only complaint is they brought one small basket for 11 people we eventually got some more but still just 1 small basket! I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana which was delicious the marinara sauce is Awesome as well! I love that they don't gauge you on Tea prices by charges $2.50! I totally recommend this place! Made a reservation for my son's birthday 24 hours ahead of time. Given the absolute worst table. Literally steps at the exit of the kitchen. I did ask to be moved. But they started to move us. Then we waited an 20 minutes prior to any wait staff approach the table and an hour for our food. Our food was delicious we ordered an Alfredo dish and sea bass special with the caprese salad for an appetizer. The hostess was gracious and capable of handling a busy phone and seating us down. The garlic bread they bring out before the meal was so good and warm. They were extremely busy so the waiter did the best he could keeping up with all of the tables. We have eaten at La Gondola twice now and not impressed either time. But this last time takes the cake. We ordered crème brûlée for desert and it was vanilla flavored scrambled eggs. I have made crème brûlée many times at home and I am not a chef, but clearly they did not temper the egg yolks and hot cream properly. It turned into scrambled eggs! It's was not even edible. The one star is for the chicken Parmesan which was pretty good. I will add though if you get anything with Alfredo sauce I would suggest doctoring it up with lots of parm and salt and pepper. This is our go to spot in Mansfield. Great house salad with Italian dressing that comes with your meal. Bread is so good which is also included. Personal favorites, cCrab Cakes, Spaghetti and Meatballs and Eggplant Parmesan. Wine selection is okay but if you like and Expresso Martini, this is your place. read more

It first registered with me when one of my daughters ate my cold leftovers and couldn't quit talking about the roasted potatoes that came with the Chicken Limone. I wrote a review about 2 months ago and gave it 5 stars. Last time we went on a Saturday. Today is Tuesday and they had a new chef. We sent the steak back 3 times bc it was raw! We each had roast potatoes and they were blah and quite al dente. We were sent home with a lasagna (that was comped) and it was very greasy! I had the halibut and it was rather tasteless with an over powering taste of lemon. Overall it was a dismal experience. read more

We had them cater for an event we did and the food was wonderful. We didn't anticipate the food to be so much quantity wise so the staff really made it work with the space they were given. We ordered the penne with pink sauce, sausage, chicken piccata, salad, and bread. The catering portions are very generous with such reasonable prices! And the staff was wonderful! Fast and efficient setup and the food was great. We had alot of great feedback from many of our guests. Pattie helped me from the start when I first inquired about catering and is great at communicating. They do not drop the ball here and make you feel valued as a customer. We have gotten the food here to go many times. My favorite dishes are eggplant parm, veal, and the spaghetti with meat sauce. I really like the spaghetti with their pink sauce which is marinara and alfredo. It is so good with the spaghetti. Their bread here is so freaking good. Its has the perfect amount of butter and herbs. The calamari here was just okay. It was overcooked and rubbery. The veal with the prosciutto is really great but can be a little on the salty side. The tiramisu here is just okay as well. I definitely will come here for the spaghetti and meat sauce. It is really good. read more

Definitely one of the best places in Mansfield, which has very few "upscale" restaurants. This place goes above and beyond to provide a classy atmosphere with live music and great service. Their sauces and salad dressing and desserts all have a very fresh homemade taste. I love all of their steaks. The Steak Diane has a wonderful Worcestershire brandy cream sauce with mushrooms. The filet mignon is cooked perfectly and very tender. They always have dinner specials so be sure and ask for those. Last night they had a 16 ounce bone in veal chop. Salads were a bad afterthought with discolored lettuce and Calamari Fritti was so tough it was inedible. Entrees were good as always, but what a disappointment. Ordered delivery today thinking my food would be very satisfying since I've heard good things about this establishment and for the most part everything was pretty tasty. I ordered the shrimp scampi and crab cakes...no complaints there. However, the French roll I received was burnt and not just a little. I'm peeved because I know if I was dining in they would have never brought that to the table! After spending $40 dollars for two items (that aren't large portions to begin with) and to have garlic bread that you can't eat was very disappointing! I've been craving to go to La Gondola since moving to Mansfield last year, I could not find the time. I finally got the opportunity, I didn't get to sit down inside like I planned however I was able order to-go. I called in an order of Calamari Fritti, Linguine Shrimp Scampi, & Gamberi alla Parmigiana. The Calamari was completely overdone, literally Calamari chips. They were so hard and crispy I was really looking forward to having this dish. I am hoping this was just a bad batch, I am willing to try it again while eating inside. The Gamberi & Scampi was delicious!! I will be getting it again. Service was super nice and helpful when ordering over the phone. I will be back & willing to give the Calamari another shot. read more
