We love to find local places to support when we visit different cities. This place we found on Yelp and needless to say, it did NOT disappoint!!! As you can see from the pictures, the portions are great!! We had three different meals and each was delicious! I had the wet burrito and crushed it. So full of flavor with the carne asada, rice, and beans. The service was amazing as well!! They answered every question we had. They got us everything we needed and were quick. We didn't have to wait very long for our food at all. It was quiet and ducked off in a shopping center. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my meal and would go back in a heartbeat to try another dish on their menu!!

So glad I found this place! We walked past by and was so hungry so we decided to try and boy we glad we did! Now it's become one of my favorite spot for shrimp tacos!!! This is the only place that I found got the tastes very close to the one tacos I had in TJ. With that said I got the shrimps tacos with rice and bean and it hit the spot! The portion is very generous and the shrimp tacos is on point! Their rice is also amazing! I also got the rice togo! That's how good it is!!! There is parking and down street parking so parking wouldn't be a problem. I normally just walked here from work it's walk but good exercise after that big plate of food. Overall, would definitely Come back whenever I'm craving for it!

I don't come down in this area often but had to take care of some business at the Mexican Consulate, I did a quick Yelp search for tacos and this place was nearby and a 4 Star average so decided to come check them out. Corona times so they did have some seating outdoors or you can take your food ToGo, I ordered some tacos, paid and had a seat outside where food was brought out to me. Tacos https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=D2MJT8rqCFRNVS6bf9r-AQ First off did someone have a sale on Cilantro! Carne Asada https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=O3ZNwV_vrxZ3jm2zrovE9A Had a couple large pieces of gristle, you can see one in the photo on left, and lacking flavor, the house made corn tortillas were very thick and undercooked. so, I don't have to keep repeating myself ALL the hand made corn tortillas were undercooked! 2-Stars Al Pastor https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=eaClgljAiu7i45sbW3h53g Pretty dry and lacking flavor. 2-Stars Carnitas https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=gLSfQyg5BFgnhHWW_eje1Q Now this was just some waste of piggy, had an odd taste. 1-Star Lengua https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=9LutxERU-4IZCEI_kE_lFw This was the ONLY taco on the plate worth eating, the lengua was lean with very good flavor, too bad the tortilla was not up to par. 4-Stars Salsa - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=_uzRB0adbgm5wQ66QCTmIQ Both were good.

Great local mom and pop shop to support. Reasonably priced for amount of food with each meal. My first time stopping by I ordered Carne Asada meal for $8 bucks it was delicious and favorable. I noticed the meat must have been marinated because it was seasoned well and very juicy. The tacos were a nice size they definitely pack in the meat and give you extra tortillas. Staff friendly and good offering suggestions. They don't have taco Tuesday but it's worth it to try there tacos any day of the week. Plenty of onsite parking Covid-19 restrictions enforced Social distant and hand sanitizer offered I will be back hope you also get to try Enjoy!

It was empty when we walked in on a Monday night. I imagine it's more in-demand during lunchtime. It's located in a strip mall so they have a private parking lot but it's pretty small. Portions are pretty big. I ordered the enchiladas de mole ($9) and their corn truffle ($8), but could only finish the enchiladas. I was kind of confused by the chopped lettuce sitting on top of the four enchiladas. The food is good but there's nothing that really screams "crave me!" That being said, I haven't tried the corn truffle plate, so I might have to update my review for that one if it turns out to be a game-changer.

Beats hospital food any damn day of the week. I vaguely remember really liking these tacos. Tiny place, friendly employees and tasty ass tacos. Walking distance from Good Sammaritan hospital. My buddy got some plain tacos and she seemed to like em all just fine. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=4k3UkljrBGdWRCLo8161-g#_Q79Unfyhxhqf5Ao7kbTxw I got mine dressed up with some onions and cilantro and threw on the hot sauce after I snapped the pic. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/la-guadalupana-los-angeles-3?select=_Q79Unfyhxhqf5Ao7kbTxw#4RjZJXi49FCJ7b6IulH0Yw Really good tongue chopped up into big tender cubes, carnitas was well cooked and a lil crispy, the al pastor had a good flavor and it was all super cheap. I hate hospitals and hope anyone reading this never has to go to one unwillingly..... but if you're at Good Sammaritan....I'll come by and visit you with a big bag full of tacos...cuz I'm a caring bastard like that.

Carne Asada quesadilla with hand made tortilla
    Celine L.

Surprisingly really good Mexican food at this hole in the wall!! Came here as I was craving quesadillas and we ordered the al pastor & carne asada tacos as well as the hand made tortilla quesadilla with carne asada. Also got a side of horchata, and total was around $15. Food came out within minutes, and we were extremely impressed how good everything was! The al pastor taco was DELICIOUS, and the carne asada taco was also really good. The tortilla of the quesadilla has a lot thicker consistency than regular tortillas, and I really enjoyed it as the quesadilla was nice and thick. It also comes with a side of rice and beans, and the rice was very flavorful. I also added a side of sour cream and avocado, which was a nice complement. The horchata was too sweet and milky, I wouldn't order it again. This spot is definitely a great find for quick Mexican food. I'm glad I stopped by here, and I will be returning again!

Wow, am I glad I stopped by this little gem. I'm driving to work on 6th street toward downtown thinking "mexican food mexican food mexican food, damn, I shoulda stopped at that last taco truck" and then I see this strip mall with a mexican restaurant that's open. The sign was for "Metro Deli #2" which was on the corner, but after parking, a sign on the window of Guadalupana catches my eye "tortillas hecha de mano" - hand made tortillas! I thought of Guisados that I've had bookmarked for weeks and start salivating. (Metro Deli #2 also has that "hand made" sign and I went in there once and had the most ridiculuosly bad experience ever. I would review, but it would be a major rant so I won't... but trust me, do not go there, go here instead right next door.) This strip mall looks like its owned by mexicans, run by mexicans for mexican customers. when i walk into guadalupana, the lady behind the counter looks at me as if i'm lost. she doen't speak the slightest bit of english so i had to bust out my rusty-ass espanol. I ordered "un burrito con chorizo con huevos, uno taco de asada y un taco de carnitas por favor" and she smiles and says "bueno" - super sweet lady with a ton of smiles. Then she grabs a handful of some type of dough and starts tossing it back and forth in her hands and pounding it on the prep table that I can't see below the counter. Holy shit, these are hand made tortillas MADE TO ORDER! YES!!!! As I patiently wait I browse at the menu and see "handmade corn quesadillas" and the choices are pumpkin flower, chipotle chicken, mushroom, corn truffle and mixed. Wow. Now there's something new. I definietely have to come back and try those! I'm sure Guisados will be good when I try it, but the tacos here were un-freaking-beleivable. So so good. Don't let the 'hood sketch you out, it's all good. Just come try these tacos and corn quesadillas.

Two carne asadas and one tripa $6
    Monte A.

It was Ok. The tacos were gorgeous and inexpensive but the flavor was flat. Meat tasted like it had been cooked a lot earlier in the day and was stale. Corn tortillas were good but fell apart right away. Adding more salsa made the flavor better but that's not optimal. Probably wouldn't come back at 5pm again.

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.

The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. One of the reasons I recommended Mirate is because it's known for being a highly rated modern Mexican restaurant with exceptional service and knowledgeable staff, especially when it comes to tequila and mezcal. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at all. Before ordering food, I asked our server about the differences between the mezcals and which flight they would recommend. The only explanation I received was, "It's just different families, so I'd go with the higher quality one." There was no real information or guidance, and it was obvious they didn't know much about the mezcal selection. I ended up choosing one based solely on what sounded best. We were then informed that the menu had recently changed and is now mostly tapas. That's perfectly fine, but I noticed several items from my previous visit were still available, so I figured I'd order a few favorites along with some new dishes. Most of the food was actually great. The ribeye tacos, tostada, and buñuelitos were all delicious. However, the carne asada was extremely disappointing. We only sent back one plate because I felt bad sending both, and that's when a manager (the gentleman with the man bun) came over. He explained that they have a new chef from Oaxaca, but what confused me was that they were serving Argentinian-style steaks as their carne asada. Instead of a traditional Mexican-style cut, it was thin, flat, and honestly looked like a breakfast steak. For a restaurant that prides itself on being a modern Mexican restaurant, serving Argentinian steak as carne asada just didn't make sense to me. To his credit, he removed both carne asada plates from our bill, which I genuinely appreciated. After that, he asked if there was anything else we'd like. I personally said no, but someone else at the table asked for one more ribeye taco. The manager replied, "You know what? I'll bring you one, and I'll bring them another too." Naturally, I assumed he was offering the extra taco as a goodwill gesture since I hadn't ordered anything else. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the bill and realized both tacos had been added to our tab. I wasn't going to argue over the price of a taco, but it was frustrating because I never asked for it. In fact, I ended up giving that taco away to my friends. If it wasn't complimentary, it shouldn't have been presented as if it were. Another thing worth mentioning is that while the carne asada portion has clearly gotten much smaller, the price remains exactly the same, which doesn't seem justified. Overall, my biggest disappointment is that there was no indication when making the reservation that this was essentially an experimental period with a new chef introducing major menu changes. Had I known beforehand, I never would have recommended Mirate for our dinner, and to be completely honest, I probably wouldn't have made a reservation at all. I only get two days off each month, so this was supposed to be something I could really enjoy. Instead, it honestly felt like a waste of my time and money. I'm sorry to say that while there were a few good moments, they faded very quickly. Unfortunately, the negative parts are what have stayed with me, and that's what I'll remember most about the experience. It's disappointing because I know how great Mirate can be since I experienced it just a few weeks ago. I truly hope they can regain the quality of food, service, and overall experience that made me recommend it in the first place . ( for the picture of the flat carne asada the full steak has 2 more strips added but we had tried it before taking a picture however that's MOST of the "carne asada" portion in the picture )
