I was excited to try this place out because I had heard a lot of great stuff. We walked during lunch time and it wasn't busy. We were seated at a super sticky table and the server came right on over. She wasn't very friendly and totally did not want us there after we asked her to wipe it down. I ordered a bowl of menudo along with some sopes. The food had no flavor. Great local spot. In town for a baseball tournament from SoCal and was craving tacos and found this spot across the street from a QT. I drove by and saw it was very busy for a Friday evening, and they were advertising suadero tacos so that was a must. Ordered some asada and suadero tacos to go, and the meats were great for the price. Came with a medium jalapeño avocado salsa, and a small packet of chips with a red salsa. I definitely like the hometown feel of the place. If you speak a bit of Spanish it does help, but the staff were all nice and explained the menu. This place is adorable. The margarita was perfect. Big glass, lots of lime and salted rim. The service was excellent. All the food the five of us got was delicious. Everyone loved what they ordered, our table had guacamole-which was chunky and creamy and delicious, chips were fresh and hot. Enchiladas-excellent beef obviously slow cooked and seasoned with skill. Huevos rancheros- the eggs were exactly as ordered and I was told this will be their go to place for that dish from now on. I can't recall the name of the slow cooked pig dish that was ordered but I did get to eat some and I'll order it on my next trip there! It was phenomenal. The place used to be a Wiener schnitzel I think ... so it isn't a fancy place, so just throw on your Jean shorts and flip flops and head over for great drinks and excellent Mexican cooking. read more

I've been coming here for, years now for late-night cravings to birthday parties. I love the tacos from here, especially the chili it comes with it's super SPICY! The enchiladas are also a great option too with the portions being significant but also my opinion they have the best horchata I have ever had with it not being too sweet or cinnamon. Finally found a menudo I love.... Generous portions, spicy, and YUM! Husband and children loved their burritos and tacos. Everything was delicious and big enough to share because we had no room for dessert. Hubby saw a dessert he wanted but we will try next time. Oh what a great find that is open late at night! Mesa doesn't seem to have many options for food after 9:30 pm on a Saturday night unless you want fast food. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after a concert, I ordered some tacos and enjoyed each one. It was a little awkward that they seemed to think our order was to go, but we were sitting down to eat. The tacos are fantastic and I would definitely would come here again if I lived nearby. Service was pretty slow and food seemed to take some time to get out to us. A couple sat after us, got their food far before we did and also got chips and salsa, which we did not. Maybe the confusion of our food being put in as to go? Regardless, go get tacos. read more

OWNER CALLED POLICE ON ME! I purchased a $15 gift voucher off restaurants.com for this place. The voucher had no expiration date but when I attempted to use it the manager/owner claimed "he lost too much money off of those vouchers" and not only refused to accept it, but refused to apply any discount to my meal at all. When I tried to explain to him that it's not really fair that I was being double charged having bought the voucher in the first place and being charged full price for the meal he said "well that's not my problem, call the company you bought the voucher from." I attempted to call restaurants.com but their customer service department was closed. When I told him I couldn't get a hold of anyone from restaurants.com he once again told me "that's not my problem.". For some reason he thought I wasn't going to pay and called the cops to the restaurant. Ironically, they showed up as he was processing my card. I can't remember the last time I've dealt with customer service that bad. It's unfortunate because the food was good and I would have happily been a return customer. Now, I will never go there again and will encourage anyone else NOT to eat there. read more

Came in looking for some Mexican City food, and they got it! I ordered the Huarache with Al Pastor which was huge AND delicious. The inside was real simple, but i go to a restaurant for the food so i didnt really care.
