This place is expensive, yes, but it has so many flavors of ice cream I've never seen anywhere else and they're all incredible. And they give you a generous scoop size. My current favorite is guanábana (soursop); it comes with big chunks of the fruit and a few large seeds which are easy enough to eat around. They also have a huge selection of paletas, and even a few hot food options. The inside is bright and cheerful, with clean white tables and pretty fake flower arrangements. Service is prompt and friendly. I wish I could afford to eat here every day, haha! read more

This is a wonderful ice cream place. They have both water made ice cream and cream/milk ice cream. It is often very crowded on those hot summer days but the people do their best to make sure every customer is taken care of. There is usually 2-3 workers helping customers making shakes and yogurt and fresh fruit creations. Many of the ice cream flavors are Hispanic but they usually have an English translation. Very good and definitely worth trying for some very unusual flavors. read more

Great place to visit after dinner or during a very hot day. Take your time to look around as the employees may not know what you like or want. Friendly enough people that work there as well as other locations. I would visit again when I ever get a chance to come back down that direction. Cons: Limited parking space when visiting the store and worth it to park across the street at CVS if you plan to jump and out of the store. Try to stay clean although area in the are not so clean. Pros: Behind the counter seems to a lot space for workers to move around and maybe too much space. Clean behind the counter area as much as I can see. The Mangonada had the right balance of blended mango and chamoy sauce and I added a tamarind straw since it's one of my favorite candies. Pretty affordable for a large size. This is a new location of the traditional Mexican ice cream store. The ice cream is definitely amazing, but I took down a few stars. The grand opening was 6/15/19, but it looks like they are understaffed. The location is very popular and it's always a long line with not enough staff. Furthermore, the garbage can is too small and always full. The ice cream isn't labeled, and the establishment is dirty. If they can fix these issues, it would be a 5 star location for sure. read more

I am a big fan of La Michoacána's but I know that all stores are definitely not the same. This shop is closest to my house so I frequent here but i would travel to the one bends villa because they have more everything and have adequate staff. I waited almost 40 minutes in line when it was not even crowded. They had one lady doing everything; she was inundated with doordash and grub hub orders and was behind in filling those that the drivers were inpatient. When it finally was my turn, I ordered two elites and she said they don't have any cheese left!!! What!!!! How are you filling all those doordash orders with no cheese? I'd be disappointed if I placed a delivery and there was no cheese on my elotes without my knowledge that they had ran out.... just go to the store, they have that cojita cheese everywhere. How can you sell elotes with NO cheese? And yes, it is a big deal to me. Luckily, I eat flaming hot Cheetos that saved it; otherwise it would have been just Mayo and butter. Also, I got the cucumber and lemon Fresca, that was very refreshing. I usually get the watermelon, which is bomb but wanted to try something different. I'll stick to watermelon. I guess my overall complaint is that they always are running out of the accoutrements for the items they sell like one time I ordered Doritos Loco and they had none of those crunchy peanuts, no avocados, and none of those pickled pork rinds... then it ain't crazy if you don't have everything in there. Like no cheese with the elotes... one time they ran out of jalapeño peppers for my nachos...they never are fully equipped with the items that make their dishes; that's why I had to stop messing with them for a while. You stand in line forever, just be told they don't have something. I'm good on this place... if I have to drive to another town for them to get it right... so be it! read more

I'm a little confused because this looks just like la Michoacana premium but it's different. They sell very similar things. I got 2 scoops of ice cream and it was very good, but I have to say the flavor is not as good as la michoacana premium. I went today with my mom to get ice cream. This woman and another woman working in the afternoon shift was treating us so horribly and kept rushing us to hurry up there was no line. Me and my mom were simply asking them questions but they were choosing to ignore us. Once I payed for my food the lady in the picture aggressively handed off my food. I confronted the lady to give me the managers number and the names of both ladies serving me but was refusing to give me any information. Please teach your employees to properly treat customers with respect. This place doesn't even deserve one star, I rather go to different Michoacana location. I love the michocana but they are not following Illinois guidelines. The last 4 times I have gone they let people in without face masks and I've seen people take off their face masks and start eating their ice cream. I always tell the workers they need to tell them they need to put on their face masks and they never tell them anything because they're scared. I will report this business to the city of Chicago if nothing changes. You should put a sign on your door. I have a child and do not need to expose myself to any of this and your workers are unsafe as well. read more

I waited more than 30 minutes for ice cream and only waited there bc my little one wanted her ice cream cone. I'm not one to scream racist but I'm really disappointed in the Hispanic community when it comes to this establishment. I went in to purchase a strawberry milkshake and when I walked out I noticed that it was milky. I went back in seconds later to have it fixed or replaced. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes while they saw me and continued to talk in Spanish to each other. Then when a family came in, one employee proceeded to help them while ignoring me. I interjected, stating that I had been standing there and I was next in line. The woman said she didn't speak English and went to ask for help. It's really convenient that no one speaks English when a black woman is frustrated or has concerns. Finally, one of the women came up to the counter and said once you leave it cannot be replaced or refunded. I would have to purchase another item. I've been coming here for a long time.
