La Moon is a must do--our first visit was nothing short of outstanding! From the moment we walked in, the authentic music set the perfect dreamy dinner vibe, transporting us into a relaxed, joyful evening. Food item or ordered: sautéed shrimp with a spicy cream, garlic. Wings that had an amazing chili glaze over them. Gyoza (I did not enjoy this dish) These were the starters, and the shrimp was my favorite.! Fast-forward to our main selections!! We ordered the drunken noodles which were 10 out of 10 as well as the blackened shrimp. It was served with a spicy Sriracha also a 10 out of 10.! The drinks gave main character. They have lots of signature drinks that are very light and refreshing. You wouldn't believe that alcohol was in them. If you're in the Virginia -Highlands area, please stop by and check them out! I server was amazing, and all of the food came out fresh and hot. They also have complementary valet parking!

They offer complimentary valet in the back, which is always a plus. The ambiance was beautiful, with Asian-inspired artwork that gave the space a really nice vibe. Service could've been a little better--we didn't receive small plates or utensils at first and had to ask. I'm thinking it may have just been the timing since other tables were set. Now let's talk about the food... it was AMAZING. Everything was packed with flavor. For small plates, we ordered the calamari, gyoza, dumplings, garlic green beans, and fried tofu. Ozzie's favorite was the gyoza, and mine was the dumplings. The portions were great for the price. Honestly, everything was so good we wanted to order more. For entrées, we had the Drunken Man Lo Mein and Shaken Beef. Both were flavorful, but I preferred the Lo Mein because of the portion size and temperature. The Shaken Beef had more veggies than beef. The only downside was that the food wasn't served piping hot--if it had been, it would've taken the experience to the next level.

Everything tasted amazing! The owner was super awesome and the servers were great. We ate on the patio which was nice. The inside of the restaurant is classy, clean and inviting. I'll come back to try more foods. The fish dish was the star of the show!

We came as a party of 6 on a Monday night and it was busy! Took a 20 minute wait but you already know it's popular We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 mains with drinks as well. And were welcomed with extremely warm attitude by our servers and the owners. The ambiance is definitely a bit louder but everything was as perfect as it could. The owners gave us so much attention and made sure we were treated well. Number one will recommend for a dinner! Will come back again

Came here with a friend for dinner tonight! I valet parked in the back and walked up the stairs, through the restaurant to the host stand, and gave the hostess my friend's name for our reservation. Just a few minutes after being seated, and given water, my friend found me at our table by the open window, and we caught up on life! The ambiance is very trendy, intimate, and stylish. We loved our table because we had a comfortable breeze gently blowing in and nice natural sunlight. Funny enough, my friend and I had the same top 3 entrée choices we were considering, so we decided to each pick one different option and share. I chose the shaken beef. It was very flavorful and delicious! While most of the pieces were tender and soft, some were pretty chewy. My friend got the drunken man lo mein. It was also very tasty, with a very subtle, enjoyable spice kick thanks to the peppers. Service was great! Our waitress was very kind and attentive, checking on us and making sure we didn't need anything, without rushing or making us feel overwhelmed. We were very comfortable here! My only reason for a less than 5 star review is simply because of price. While the portions were perfect for us girls, the price for what you're getting is very high. I look forward to coming back to try more delicious dishes. I plan to bring my fiancé next time since he wasn't able to make it tonight, but I already know that with him, we are going to have to share at least 4 or 5 dishes... and it won't be cheap!

Loved every bite we had! Started with the Gyoza and green beans. Wow. A whole party in my mouth! For my entree I had the Drunken Lo Mein. Just enough spice to satisfy my tastebuds. My parents both had the salmon with fried rice. They enjoyed very much too. Kendall took great care of us. I can't wait to go back! I managed to find street parking - which I'm still shocked about. But there's valet behind the building if you're not so lucky. The ambiance was super cute too. We sat by the opened windows in the front and because the weather was just perfect today, the breeze coming in was amazing.

Wandered in on a Monday night and were immediately seated as a group of 2. The interior of this place is beautiful. Moody, red lighting with plush booths and pillows. Service was friendly and attentive. She took our order quickly and came to check on us at all the right times. Ordered the dumplings, seafood hot pot, and pad thai. The dumplings were nice and in a tasty sweet soy sauce. The pad thai had great flavor and a variety of textures. It also had a healthy serving of shrimp and chicken. The seafood hot pot was my favorite by far! The soup was flavorful with a great balance of sour and spicy. I also loved the mushrooms and soft squid rings. My only critique is that the disposable chopsticks and plastic soup spoons don't fit the more upscale atmosphere.

Wowowow-- there's SO much to like about La Moon. First of all, I'd describe it as the PERFECT date-night spot. Quaint and intimate setting, paired with vibrancy and energy that makes it sexy NOT tired. The food was to die for. The portions are also enough, to share, but necessitate ordering a few in my opinion. It's the perfect opportunity to try many of their MUST-TRY dishes... such as... - Gyozas (worth it) - Dumplings (could pass) - Mor-Din (unreal glass noodle, shrimp pork belly pot) - Kao-Mok (delish! Steak dish YUM) - Pad Thai Chicken & Shrimp (worth it, despite its mainstreamness!) See pics of the above attached. La Moon has been on my radar for a little while. The way the restaurant is set up they have seating out front and windows in the front of the restaurant that open up to the restaurant feels inside/outside very cool! Food, let's talk about it. I tried that the cheese roll, Mussels, fried rice with salmon and the drunken lo mein. It was amazing!! What stole the show to me was the drunken lo mein and the mussel. The mussels were HUGE and the sauce it came it was out of this word, a little salty but nonetheless amazing. Such a great restaurant highly recommend. You're welcome! Also S/O to my sever Trent! Was very excited to try La moon but ended up being a bit disappointed by the food. The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous for the small space and the service was also great, but unfortunately I felt like the food was lacking flavor. We came for a birthday dinner and had a table for 6 of us. I got to try dumplings, one of their noodle dishes, and I ordered the shaking beef for myself. Unfortunately I felt like all of the food was missing flavor that I'm used to with Vietnamese and Thai food. The meat was cooked super well and was tender, but there just wasn't any flavor. I'm not sure if I'll be back at La moon since there are soooo many options in the Virginia highland area.

Definitely checked off all of my boxes. Once I got word that this was a Thai Asian-Fusion spot, I was all in. For starters: parking was pretty convenient, which is great considering the busyness of the area. They offer complimentary valet, but if you get lucky you can also find parking on the local streets. When we walked in, I literally said out loud " WOW" b/c the ambiance was gorgeous, the lighting, the decor and the art...was already a great way to intro the night. We had the pleasure of having Lily as our server. She was soooooo great! Her energy is just the kind you want to be greeted with especially for your first time. For our drinks we started off with the Butterfly Kiss, and the Midnight Moon. The butterfly kiss was gin based, and the midnight moon is normally vodka based, but Lily gave a great suggestion to try it with Tequila. The midnight moon is basically a lychee martini (which is my absolute fave) so I was very curious to see how this would taste with tequila...and to my surprise it tasted better than the vodka version! It even came with these cute feathers attached too! (see pics) For our starters we ordered the Garlic Green Beans (10/10!!!!) and the Fried Tofu. Now, I am not a plant-based person, but that tofu was GOOOOD, and it was paired with this delicious sweet thai-chili sauce. For our entrees, we ordered the Black Pepper Shrimp and the Shaken Beef. Both were delicious and were paired with rice and vegetables. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and the beef was nice and tender. This is for sure a place I would frequent and bring my out of town friends to.

Food is scorching hot, quick to the table and, for the most part, extremely underwhelming and way overpriced. We started with the Imperial Rolls to share. None of us could accurately describe these in either texture nor flavor. I will attempt to summarize: The fried wonton wrapper was almost welded to the over-mixed filling which had no distinct taste to it at all & was uniformly grey in appearance. We did enjoy the cold rice noodles with crunchy peanuts & the sweetly sour & slightly spicy dipping sauce with shredded carrots. Next up: Main Courses DO NOT ORDER THE CURRY Glass Noodle dish was okay -- overly sauced & cooked noodles with undercooked, unwieldy bok choy -- oh! For some inane reason these bok choys were also heavily present in the yellow curry dish?!?!? The shrimp tasted like they were clearly on their last leg & their texture was not only grainy, but rubbery as well. Incredible!! Stick with the Pho and maybe stretch it between two meals to get your moneys worth. One last thing, the pillows along the banquettes need to be burned in a fire, never to be resurrected. Nonsensical and interrupts the flow of the luscious ochre velvet channeled, and, quite clearly, custom made banquettes. Sadly, will not be dining here again, despite the wonderful service from the floor staff. : ( read more

I enjoyed the Vietnamese style wings, but the shrimp egg noodles were disappointing. There wasn't nearly enough vegetables or noodles for the price point. Service was subpar. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to be ordered and it was not busy. The staff was nice but the service was not up to par, especially not for a required 20% gratuity for a party of 6. Another disappointing aspect is the way receipts are processed. They add an extra 3% to all card transactions and you're not made aware of this until after paying for food... which is very bizarre for a restaurant and extremely misleading. I would not recommend this place for parties 6 or more nor during dinner hours. Hopefully a lunch here is a better experience. read more

Great new spot in VaHi. Chill vibe with upscale Vietnamese food. The portions are on the smaller side but the flavor and presentation is great. If you're looking for Buford highway prices and portions, probably not the spot you're looking for. BUT if you want great Vietnamese food in the middle of the city definitely check them out. Got the Vermicelli noodles with shrimp and a side of beef pho broth. The shrimp had a great peanut flavor and the pho broth was perfect (not too salty or oily). Free valet in the back or street parking. Great spot for a date night or catching up with a friend. No alcohol yet but BYOB for now read more

This is our second time coming and this has to be one of my favorite asian fusion restaurants. The ambience is great, the food is amazing & the workers are super attentive. My favorite has to be their Pad Thai dish, super rich in flavor! Can't wait to come back again. We stopped by on a whim and were so impressed. We sat at the bar since they were fully booked (I can see why they were booked). We had exceptional service despite them being busy. They even let us know ahead of time their kitchen was backed up with orders and accommodated us for the wait. The food is amazing and very authentic. We plan on coming back very soon. read more

Food was tasty and ambiance was nice. Valet parking in the back until 10pm. We had the glass noodles, and tried two of the desserts, crème brûlée and green tea tempura cheesecakes. All were good! Only con is that they charge ~4.25% fee if you use a credit card and that was not made clear to us when we were paying. read more

We loved this place! We were seated outside since all the indoor seating was reserved but the outside patio was adorable (great overhead fans!). We started out with the crispy shrimp rolls and spicy lemongrass king oyster mushrooms. Both were awesome and the mushrooms definitely had a kick to it! My bf ordered the shaken beef which was "phenomenal" and I ordered the shrimp egg noodle. My food was good but I probably wouldn't order it again. Nothing wrong with it, just not my favorite. The service was a little slow but we could tell the waiter had a ton of customers and was working very hard. Overall, we enjoyed this a lot and will definitely return. read more

Don't waste your time. This was such a bad experience .. and this was our first time here.. stick to the tried and true. Server was not knowledgeable about the dishes so much so she insisted that there were no Bell peppers , only green beans , in the dish we were thinking of ordering... and the green beans were "sooo good". .. Best location, stellar staff, charming ambiance and a legit menu but the execution on that menu falls short; not great. Food lacks vibrancy and flavor. I want this restaurant to succeed in this amazing neighborhood. Chef needs to add mint to the spring rolls, and the vermicelli noodles or offer a side condiment. We have come here about once a month since finding this little spot in VaHi. This most recent trip, our waitress, Sophia, was on point - drinks and food came quickly and accurately and she was super nice the whole evening. The low key ambiance is perfect for a casual date night or evening with friends. Our favorites are the shrimp and garlic green bean appetizers. However, this trip we tried the Drunken Man Lo Mein. It was exquisite. A bit of heat and delightfully prepared veggies rounded out the best Lo Mein we've ever had! read more

Finally a legit Asian restaurant in the neighborhood! I feel like many of Asian options in the area is not as good as northern suburbs of Atlanta (Duluth or Suwannee) but this was a pleasant surprise. I stopped in out of curiosity and needed lunch to go anyway so picked multiple dishes to bring home. They were all great. I'd definitely go back to try the other items on the menu. read more

Not only was the food delicious here, the service was amazing. It's not a place that you'd immediately assume was family friendly (definitely more a night out vibe) but the servers were so incredibly patient and kind with our toddler. It was above and beyond anything I would ask for, and I hope they get a little extra love from management for their wonderful energy (thanks Aubrey and Cathy (or Kathy)). Went to Mai Kitchen for dinner. The food was amazing, the ambiance is so nice. The service was great! Our server recommended the shrimp and beef egg noodle stir fry and the shaken beef for our entrees and they were delicious. We also had the papaya and mango salad and for dessert, we had the green tea matcha cheesecake. Everything was amazing! We got to meet and speak with the owners, they were so lovely and fun! The food here is pretty good, but the prices have almost doubled on some of the items since they opened less than a year ago so we were surprised to see current prices being so different from online menus. Although the food is good, it's not special or fancy enough to warrant the prices. And the service was almost nonexistent. Waitress came by a few times throughout the meal, but didn't check to see if we needed another round of drinks even though we were long finished and had to flag her down to bring us water. Overall decent, but not worth the prices. read more

Cool spot in terms of music and decor, the food tasted great, and the service was friendly. The waitress was on top of our waters. There were some minor issues with ordering: a second waiter had to double check our order, then our appetizers came out slightly after our entrees but they didn't charge us for them which was very nice of them. read more

I also ordered pho with filet mignon and shrimp. The broth was very good, the filet was tender and I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint was the lack of noodles. I ended up taking the pho to go and had to order an additional side of noodles for $3. The customer service was pleasant and look forward to returning.

We ordered so much and everything was delicious - nothing below an 8/10 in my opinion. We ordered the seafood spring rolls (8/10), crab benigets (8/10 with a special note of originality), and the shrimp appetizer (10/10). Spring rolls- very crispy and flaky, had the "sea floor" variety of seafood inside, flavorful 3 sauces to go with it Crab beignets- a slightly cheesy and airy beignet with a genius crab dip blend. The whole table was surprised on how good it was. Shrimp appetizer- the best "bang bang" shrimp I've had. Shrimps are very large and has a nice fruit salsa to go with. Everyone at the table loved their entrees but I can only truly speak for the ones I tried. Seafood Curry- I will NEVER eat curry anywhere else! I LOVEEEEE THIS CURRY! All the seafood is so fresh, the curry is so flavorful that I literally slurped the rest off my plate. There was also such a variety of veggies in there that were also very fresh and firm (not soggy). For the price especially, you get sooooo much and with such a thoughtful recipe. According to our waitress, it's the only recipe that hasn't changed since the restaurant opened in 2012! Fried chicken - I didn't try the chicken itself, but I did try the Mac and cheese and greens that came with it. Let me tell you, I am very picky about Mac and cheese and this rivals the best Mac and cheese I've had in Atlanta (toast on Lenox)! The greens were also fantastic and flavorful, but a little on the sweet side if that's what your preference is. For dessert, all 4 of us shared one slice of the suspension cake and couldn't even finish it! It was ginormous (literally the size of your head). I won't even go into details- just order it! The ambiance is so intimate and unique- not feeling like an "uptight" boujie restaurant, but curated and thoughtful. They have very nice seating outdoor that is enclosed as well as a beautiful bar area. Lastly, the service is fantastic. I genuinely can't recall my waitresses name, but they speak so highly of the head chef (Calvin) and most have worked there 8+ years, so it really feels like home. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!

While I had high expectations, unfortunately, the dishes did not meet my expectations. Firstly, I opted for the grilled lemongrass pork, which, upon arrival, had a strong aroma of kerosene. This was quite off-putting, as it overshadowed any other flavors that the dish might have had. Furthermore, the quality of the pork did not align with what I anticipated from a restaurant of this caliber, especially considering the price point. The meat lacked tenderness and succulence, leaving me disappointed. The entree also included crispy imperial rolls, which were a letdown as well. It was evident that these rolls were not freshly made, as they were hard and unexpectedly chewy. The texture greatly detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dish. I couldn't even finish the entrée and I ended up throwing it away. On a positive note, I did order the crispy imperial rolls separately, and I must admit that they were surprisingly decent and enjoyable. They had a satisfying crunch and a flavorful filling that helped redeem the dining experience to some extent. Regrettably, I cannot provide a review of the Vietnamese chicken salad as I had intended to have it for lunch tomorrow. However, based on the underwhelming taste of the pork, my expectations for the salad are not particularly high. I stopped by La Moon in Virginia Highlands for what I thought was a Yelp event and quickly realized the event had been postponed without me knowing. Since I was already there, I decided to stay and I am so glad I did because what could have been a failed outing turned into a really enjoyable experience. I ended up hanging out at the bar with Kevin and Chef Curtis, who truly made the experience memorable. Chef Curtis put together some amazing food and I ordered a side of fried rice along with the La Moon wings. Both were delicious and definitely worth staying for. The wings had great flavor and the fried rice paired perfectly with everything. Kevin also made me two Midnight Moons, their lychee martini, and they were excellent. Smooth, refreshing, and definitely one of those drinks that can sneak up on you because they go down a little too easily. Jem and Sarah were also wonderful and added to the welcoming atmosphere. The entire team made me feel like I was supposed to be there regardless of the event mix up. What started as a failed event definitely turned into a success thanks to great food, amazing drinks, and service that made the experience feel personal. I will absolutely be back. read more

I recently dined at La Moon ATL in Virginia Highland, and it absolutely lives up to the hype as one of Atlanta's standout Asian-inspired restaurants. Every dish felt intentional, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making it the kind of place you want to come back to and bring friends to. We started with the gyoza, La Moon Wings, and sautéed shrimp, all perfectly seasoned and great for sharing. The Seafood Hot Pot was rich and comforting, and I loved that it's gluten-free. The salmon fried rice was another solid hit, but what really impressed me were the entrées.
