I happened to see this event on the open so I decided to grab the kids and give it a try. Kids are…read more16 so they are easy to get to go to things like this because they love to eat. You know I guess I love to eat too. So when we walked in we had to park a block away because there were a lot of cars around. Unfortunately Jacksonville doesn't have very many parking garages in useful locations so you kind of have to search for parking but we managed to find one in front of the Chamblain's book mine. Right when we walked in there was this itty-bitty little camp her that was selling coffee and I didn't get any but I thought that was kind of cute. There was also a stage with the band performing in they were actually pretty good. There were several types of stands half of the plaza and the other half was pretty much dedicated to food trucks and stands. I got some really remarkable toffee although it was $12 for an 8 ounce can but it was really really good. There were some interesting crafts for sale also. Were a bunch of food trucks there including some regular favorites and a couple I was not familiar with. I don't know if they rotate them out or not but it was interesting to be able to sample all the different trucks in the same location. It was kind of chilly tonight, it would've been better if it wasn't so cold but of course that's not the fault of the planners. I will definitely be back for the next one of these because I really enjoyed it.

It's worth a trip to Hemming Plaza to check out this market. If you want to check out some of the…read morefood trucks that you have bookmarked on your list, this is the place to go. It is a foodie's paradise a long with fresh produce and local shopping all under the big Jacksonville sky. A very unique market because it's held in the evenings where you could plan a cool "date night" with your significant other, sipping on some local beers, checking out the artist and vendors and really feeling part of everything that's making Jax a cool place to live. Just get there early enough so parking shouldn't ever be an issue as street spots are free after 6pm for everyone. Thanks City of Jacksonville.

Get…read morethere early because they sell out! -- It's off University Blvd, look for the pink truck and the smoker! Hands down, they have the BEST smoked BBQ chicken I have tried in Jax. You can fight me on that, but if you haven't tried their food yet, I'm not listening to you. The fact that it's family owned and operated makes it even better. The husband and wife who run it are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. They've been serving up mouthwatering BBQ for over 20 years, and it shows in every bite. They also offer catering orders for large parties. I love supporting local, family-owned businesses, and this is one you NEED to add to your list. A word of advice: They do sell out -- so if you have your heart set on something specific, plan to get there early. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you check them out!

It was not hot, so I heated it up and it tasted better. I did not eat my bread. They are located very close to Jacksonville University(JU)on University Blvd-corner lot. Look for the pink trailer. Nice people. The city is giving them some "heat". I pray to God the city decides to let them stay on their land that they purchased 8 years ago. They used to be on Arlington Road. So, please support them-when you're in the area. Pros: great food Cons: they were very busy on this Memorial Day weekend. His wife was not there today. Recommend: always

Needless to say, skepticism ruled the day. Then our CM Matt posted some very intriguing pics (oh the Power of Yelp) - I was tempted! Finding myself in 5 Points, after hours, and a little hungryish, I came across the HD Party Cart. The smiles & smells that surrounded the cart drew me closer - the description of El Guapo sold me! Topped with chili, vegan cheese and Fritos - each bite was delicious and satisfying. I missed the snap of a traditional dog, but the flavors more than made up for it! They're usually in front of Root Down on weekend nights - just look for the crowds :)

I gotta say, Hot Dog Party boasts the finest vegan hot dog I've ever had. Now, it might be the only…read morevegan hot dog I've consumed in my short 26 years, BUT, I truly love these dogs! That's right, these hot dogs are 100% vegan. Which means vegan cheese, vegan chili, etc. In my unprofessional opinion, nothing can triumph over pig. I'm a pork-butt eating fool. However, I don't believe Hot Dog Party is comparing themselves to a classic frankfurter. They're rocking their own unique style, and I applaud them for it! El Guapo - Chili, vegan cheddar, relish, fritos - aka delicious! I normally top it off with some type of mustard and it just works. I downed two of these bad boys last weekend and it cured my unadulterated hanger. Where to find this hot dog cart? Stalk their Instagram page. I couldn't even find them on Facebook. They normally camp out in Five Points on the weekends. These dogs are perfect for those late nights. Hot Diggity!
