Thank God we walked all the way to the end! After our El Yunque honeymoon adventure, we ended up here. This food was SO D**N GOOD!!! I cannot emphasize enough how full we were after devouring our entire plates. So much flavor, so much culture, sooo good!! The drinks were just ok but the food lol the food was everything. We still daydream about the red snapper and rice & beans. The view in the tiki bar area is the icing on the cake. Looking forward to our next visit!
Located at the Luquillo Kiosks. This was one of the nicer restaurants with ocean views. They do not take reservations, but we didn't have a wait on a Friday evening. We started off with cocktails - Mai tais and beers. For dinner, I got a beef empanada, rice beans, and the sweet plantains. It was a full meal! My husband got the fresh mahi mahi which came with salad, rice, and beans. The portions are pretty big! Our friends got the chicken stuffed with sweet plantains and the grouper. All good choices. Very chill vibe. Loved the ocean vibes.
SABROSO!!! After a day at the beach, this was a good place to chill and refill. Every single dish we tried hit hard and was so fulfilling. The sampler appetizers were a wonderful way to get ready and try new things. The sweet and savory pork with white rice I had was so tender and sweet and the rice so soft. The red snapper dishes I tasted were so soft and tender and did not taste fishy but taste flavorful. The vanilla and coconut flan was a dream come true - soft, a fantastic flavor on one's palate and wow! And the cortado coffee - don't leave without having it - it's unexplainable. We sat inside with some ac and the view was epic. Our waiter Victor was so kind and helped pick what was best on menu and funny - good dude. Everyone run here - you will refill for the rest of the day.
WOW!!! One of the BEST dinner on the island! Lobster is must have! And the ribeye was perfection!!!!!
Absolutely delicious! We both enjoyed our meals and the ceviche (not pictured). Great ambiance, delicious cocktails, friendly staff, and can't beat the ocean view.
Today was a special day at La Parrilla in La Isla Del Encanto. From the very beginning we were welcomed with with a smile and a sense of happiness. This place was right by the water where you can hear the waves crashing and the food smelling absolutely amazing. The menu was big and our server was super welcoming and helpful. I loved the seating area and how open this establishment was. It felt perfect with the weather and the sounds all around. I have to give a HUGE thank you to the staff who made this night unforgettable and one I will always cherish for the rest of my life. They helped me coordinate my proposal to my better half with smiles and excitement. They made our night special. I will forever be grateful to them and this wonderful place. Now let's get to the food. OMG! ... Our dishes were nothing short of perfectly delicious. I have not had steak in a long time and this was a reminder of how good steak is when is cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you're in Luquillo, you must give this place a try. I will certainly be back here when we make our trip back to Puerto Rico and you should too!
Listen.. this was the longest wait of my life when it comes to a restaurant. I'm talking "questioning my life choices" long. We ended up getting our food to go because we genuinely didn't know if a server would ever appear. Needless to say, service was rough.. long wait to even order drinks, even longer to get them, and everything felt oddly spaced out. The appetizer platter was actually delicious, but by the time it arrived we were practically in a new fiscal year. Maybe sitting inside puts you on the Island Time+ plan? You'd think they'd want to upsell alcoholic drinks, but I guess not. The food I tried later was... fine. Not bad. I asked for rice and beans - got white rice with a cold bean salad situation. Not what I expected. A little pricey, but it is in a very touristy area, so that part tracks. Overall? Too much waiting, not enough wow.
This Area where the restaurant is super cool with a bunch of kiosks to eat at and right off the beach so it has a great view. it's a really popular restaurant so there was a wait time my fried snapper was really tasty but the other fried things we got weren't my favorites. the service was decent but took a while to get our food. the ambience is cool but i wouldn't say this was the best of the best like i was informed
The service here was terrible. I understand there was a party of 16, but our server, Victor, barely seemed to be attending to them either. I asked for water three separate times. The third time, he even asked me what kind of water I wanted--and then never brought it. I ended up getting my appetizer, entrée, and even dessert without ever receiving a single glass of water. We heard to order everything at once because they tend to be slow and forget off the past reviews, but apparently I was supposed to ask for water at the same time too. For reference, I ordered the lobster, red snapper, the sampler plate, and the Cuatro Leche dessert. Unfortunately, the food was just mid--nothing memorable or worth coming back for. To top it off, while I was paying at the front, the table next to me was also leaving a complaint about their experience. It was clear I wasn't the only customer disappointed. Between the poor service and average food, I can't recommend this place.
I actually went here 5 years ago on another trip and so funny we ended up back here haha! I remember last time the food was absolutely BUSSIN and this round did NOT disappoint! We loved everything we ordered including the apps sampler, mofongo, and pineapple rice!
Oscar our server was awesome. He guided us through the menu. Food was good. Some dishes a little under seasoned- surprising but still good overall. Nice open air spot. Mix of tourists and locals.
Great food! I had pineapple rellano and the boys had different versions of shrimp. Oysters were great (pricey, I'll skip next time), service was great, cocktails were awesome, and we had such a lovely time. We'll definitely go back! The tiki bar was the perfect spot for a post sunset meal!
There is a valid reason why it revives so many stars. The staff is awesome. So is the view of the beach. However, by far the best food on my entire trip. From starter to generous and sweet lobster to Mofungo. Even their coffee, I mean espresso is excellent !

This was our first night and the restaurant. We were pleased with the mofongo from this restaurant. I had the whole fried red snapper. The beers were ice cold. The wait staff were very nice and friendly. Wish I had the whole lobster they looked great in the live tanks at the restaurant. read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. The restaurant seems pricey, but mainly because the portion is huge, their seafood fresh, and other dishes delicious too. We were lucky to have dinner when the fishermen dropped off the lobster. I told my waiter the lobster dish I want, how big I wanted the lobster, and he picked it out for me, even let me hold it. As soon as my lobster came out, the owner came over and offered to debone the lobster for me. Not only our waiter but all staff were attentive the moment we walked in. I got the 1.5lb lobster with stuff veggie. It also came in a big plate of salad, bean soup, and rice. Everything was amazingly delicious. Best meal in Puerto Rico. My hubby ordered the stuffed pork dish which was so so yummy also. Needless to say, the portion was huge for us both so we had leftover for lunch next day. read more
Get the lobster! They let you pick your own and hold it for a photo if you want. They then weigh it and cook it. Very fresh. The two of us shared an app sampler (various fried things) and a 2.9 pounds lobster stuffed with shrimp and grouper, with rice and beans on the side. It was more than enough food and everything tasted so good! Most expensive meal we had in Puerto Rico but well worth it! read more

So, this place is in this long line of restaurants and shops that back up to the public beach. Like many places in Puerto Rico, there was tons of trash in the street and on the sidewalk. Puerto Rico is such as amazing island; it's too bad they don't do a better job of keeping their natural treasure (the beach and environment) cleaner and more pristine. Don't let the atmosphere scare you. La Parilla was fantastic. The service was fantastic and the view from the upstairs patio was great (except for the nearby dumpsters). I had the chicken yucca mofongo with creole sauce. It was amazing - 5 star!! A couple other people in my group had the steak and mushroom yucca mofongo, which they said was also amazing!! We had the pina colada and It was excellent. The mango madness drink was AMAZING! I loved this place and would definitely go back if I were in the area again. read more

Amazing food here, great service, and an amazing view. My husband and I stopped in here in hopes of trying some of the local food. We shared some plantains stuffed with crab meat and lobster and they were amazing. My husband doesn't usually eat fish and he had more than half of these things! I went on to have the snapper and he had the skirt steak. Both were great, but I liked mine the best. I have never eaten a whole fish like this before but the breading was amazing, the fish was super tender and done perfectly and the veggies on top with the shrimp, OH MY GOSH. A perfect introduction to Puerto Rican food. Yes, this place is not cheap, but I think we got what we paid for. Service was fantastic, a woman I don't remember her name. Amazing. She made us feel warm and welcome and explained the food to us and let us take our time. Thank you !!! read more

There was hair in our chicken Alfredo pasta, Mofongo de pollo and in my bushwhacker cocktail. Tasted good up until we found the hairs, then I nearly gagged. read more

This place was highly recommend to me. It's located in a strip mall of small kiosks shops. The food was authentic and delicious! We had the arepas regular and coconut, fried cheese with a sweet dipping sauce, churrasco steak and pineapple rice with shrimp! Nothing disappointed us and 2 mojitos will definitely be coming back! We didn't order it but when you order the fresh lobster a live lobster is brought to your table for approval. Staff was super nice and friendly, the view was gorgeous at sunset! read more

We stopped here after a hike in the rain forest and it was absolutely delicious! It lived up to all its hype for sure. For an appetizer we got alcapurria de mariscos o carne with seafood...it was a delightful Puerto Rican appetizer to try! Then my husband had the Mofongo de platano Maduros con camarones en salsa de queso holandes... If you like shrimp, this was super delicious...the combo of plantain with the cheese sauce was a match made in heaven...and there was a lot of really good sized shrimp! I had the pina rellena de arroz con camarones...if you love shrimp and pineapple, then this dish is your dream come true! Sweet pineapple paired with tons of big shrimp. The superb presentation of the two main dishes was impressive. My husband and I traded half way through so we could try both! read more
I wanted to dine at the Luquillo kiosks but when traveling with a toddler, I was had to be cautious on where we were taking her. This place definitely seemed good for kids ( not to say others aren't... Just that I was comfortable taking my child here) We started with the lobster bisque which my toddler loved. The lobster croquettes was another hit with my little one. For our entrée we had the shrimp mofongo & red snapper special. I found the mofongo a little heavy on the cheese but it was good. The red snapper was done well and the rice & beans that it came along with was great. Our waiter was very friendly and after a day long hike at El yunque, this was a great place to recharge. read more

I was told about this place by a handful of people as well as Yelp. We came here after a beautiful trip to Luquillo Beach looking for some delicious food. To start, the location is awesome! If you sit outside, you get a fantastic view of the crystal clear, teal ocean! Additionally, the servers are all great and speak English (great for tourists). This place offered some of the best customer service I experienced in Puerto Rico. I ordered the pineapple stuffed with shrimp and rice, and my boyfriend got this beef and mushroom dish with mofongo. Both were extremely delicious! As for my dish, the shrimp were HUGE and so fresh tasting. The dish is made with coconut milk and some curry powder, so you definitely get that Thai vibe. If I were to come to Puerto Rico again, I'd definitely visit this place. So worth it! read more

Excellent experience every time! Keep in mind the low reviews tend to be for "poor service". I love that I can sit down, order a few drinks, and enjoy my afternoon with my family and the whole food experience. Yes, this place is busy, even on a Monday for lunch but they can fit you in to a table in a timely manor and they don't rush you out the door to turnover to another customer. Consistently good food, service and atmosphere here. They can cater to food allergies as well. I started with a passion fruit mojito. Delish and refreshing. I'm definitely a fan of a lighter meal so ceviche for an appetizer and it did not disappoint. So much flavor and fish for a $13 price point. I ordered the queen snapper special for a meal with rice and beans. A very generous portion of fish topped with a peppers and onion salad that paired to perfection. The savory fish, with sweet and hint of sour in the peppers made the meal. I highly recommend to anything traveling the area. Every person in my party were satisfied with their meal and the portions were more than enough. So good we ate here twice in two days! read more

We met this gal in our rental car van (as one does) who grew up in PR. "You must go to La Parilla" she enthuses. "Fresh lobster! Delicious mariscos! Right on the beach!" You had me at lobster, lady. Before our hike at el Yunque, we were in dire need of some sustenance. La Parilla is hard to miss in the line of kioskos. It takes up about three of them and is definitely the most American. As our friend promised, Fresh Lobster is emblazoned on the side of the building, with a picture of our next meal. We looked thoroughly disreputable (getting ready to go on a hike and all) and the place was like, nice. I mean, these are basically garages on the side of the highway but this one is tiled with a large bar and air conditioned bathrooms and the like. Anyway, we ordered Micheladas (just do it -- they're so good) and the lobster special. They bring a live lobster to your table, then they halve it, grill it, stuff the head with shrimp and serve it with some stuff on the side. We opted for the octopus salad. It came with another small salad and some fried mofongo. This beast is about $45 (I think it's $25/lb for the lobster) and though I think our lobster was a touch overcooked, the flavor is great. The hot sauce they have on the table is delicious too -- made out of some kind of banana pepper. So good in fact that I tried to buy some. They gave me a bottle of it and I brought it home. Hoping that it doesn't have some kind of crazy tropical toxin in it. It's not the cheap lunch you envision when you stop at a crazy garage on the side of the road in PR but it's definitely an experience. The other dishes are pricey, the margaritas are legitimately terrible (mix... really??) but the service was grand and having a fresh lobster grilled just for you is pretty darn sexy. read more

This was the best meal we had in Puerto Rico, hands down. Tried to do a roadtrip from Fajardo to Humacao for dinner one night and ended up back at the kioscos in Luquillo. There are a ton of them here, all in a row, and some of them can be a little shady. Don't let any of the shady ones, however, deter you from trying La Parrilla. A few things to note: 1. No matter the weather, try the soup. Both soups they had that day (one with beans and shrimp, one with beans and ham) were amazing. 2. Pay attention to the specials, and be sure to ask your server what their favorite is - this paid off in spades (SPADES, I tell you!) when our waitress made her recommendations. 3. Park BEHIND the restaurant. Again, it might be shady driving behind all the kiosks, but totally worth it, because behind La Parrilla is a nice little parking spot /lot (there's not much in the front) and it has a view of the beach. You'd never expect (or at least I'd never expected) such a cute little gem of a restaurant seated at the far end of a row of kiosks with fried stuffs and pool halls. We had glasses of sangria that were definitely yummy but the real treat was the entree. It was a special - grouper and shrimp covered in mozzarella cheese with rice and beans. The grouper was fresh and firm, as were the shrimp, the mozzarella was gooey and they had red bell peppers and sauteed onions topping it all off. Possibly the best rice and beans I've ever had, too. The two of us (we were very, VERY hungry) shared our main and that, plus the two soups, was just the right amount. read more

Our family always comes here when we vacation in Puerto Rico and the food is good every time! Great flavor, they're not shy with the garlic. The desserts are to die for! Very accommodating for our large group! There is something to be said about it being consistently excellent every time! Definitely recommend! read more
