Thank God we walked all the way to the end! After our El Yunque honeymoon adventure, we ended up here. This food was SO D**N GOOD!!! I cannot emphasize enough how full we were after devouring our entire plates. So much flavor, so much culture, sooo good!! The drinks were just ok but the food lol the food was everything. We still daydream about the red snapper and rice & beans. The view in the tiki bar area is the icing on the cake. Looking forward to our next visit!
Located at the Luquillo Kiosks. This was one of the nicer restaurants with ocean views. They do not take reservations, but we didn't have a wait on a Friday evening. We started off with cocktails - Mai tais and beers. For dinner, I got a beef empanada, rice beans, and the sweet plantains. It was a full meal! My husband got the fresh mahi mahi which came with salad, rice, and beans. The portions are pretty big! Our friends got the chicken stuffed with sweet plantains and the grouper. All good choices. Very chill vibe. Loved the ocean vibes.
SABROSO!!! After a day at the beach, this was a good place to chill and refill. Every single dish we tried hit hard and was so fulfilling. The sampler appetizers were a wonderful way to get ready and try new things. The sweet and savory pork with white rice I had was so tender and sweet and the rice so soft. The red snapper dishes I tasted were so soft and tender and did not taste fishy but taste flavorful. The vanilla and coconut flan was a dream come true - soft, a fantastic flavor on one's palate and wow! And the cortado coffee - don't leave without having it - it's unexplainable. We sat inside with some ac and the view was epic. Our waiter Victor was so kind and helped pick what was best on menu and funny - good dude. Everyone run here - you will refill for the rest of the day.
WOW!!! One of the BEST dinner on the island! Lobster is must have! And the ribeye was perfection!!!!!
Absolutely delicious! We both enjoyed our meals and the ceviche (not pictured). Great ambiance, delicious cocktails, friendly staff, and can't beat the ocean view.
Today was a special day at La Parrilla in La Isla Del Encanto. From the very beginning we were welcomed with with a smile and a sense of happiness. This place was right by the water where you can hear the waves crashing and the food smelling absolutely amazing. The menu was big and our server was super welcoming and helpful. I loved the seating area and how open this establishment was. It felt perfect with the weather and the sounds all around. I have to give a HUGE thank you to the staff who made this night unforgettable and one I will always cherish for the rest of my life. They helped me coordinate my proposal to my better half with smiles and excitement. They made our night special. I will forever be grateful to them and this wonderful place. Now let's get to the food. OMG! ... Our dishes were nothing short of perfectly delicious. I have not had steak in a long time and this was a reminder of how good steak is when is cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you're in Luquillo, you must give this place a try. I will certainly be back here when we make our trip back to Puerto Rico and you should too!
Listen.. this was the longest wait of my life when it comes to a restaurant. I'm talking "questioning my life choices" long. We ended up getting our food to go because we genuinely didn't know if a server would ever appear. Needless to say, service was rough.. long wait to even order drinks, even longer to get them, and everything felt oddly spaced out. The appetizer platter was actually delicious, but by the time it arrived we were practically in a new fiscal year. Maybe sitting inside puts you on the Island Time+ plan? You'd think they'd want to upsell alcoholic drinks, but I guess not. The food I tried later was... fine. Not bad. I asked for rice and beans - got white rice with a cold bean salad situation. Not what I expected. A little pricey, but it is in a very touristy area, so that part tracks. Overall? Too much waiting, not enough wow.
This Area where the restaurant is super cool with a bunch of kiosks to eat at and right off the beach so it has a great view. it's a really popular restaurant so there was a wait time my fried snapper was really tasty but the other fried things we got weren't my favorites. the service was decent but took a while to get our food. the ambience is cool but i wouldn't say this was the best of the best like i was informed
The service here was terrible. I understand there was a party of 16, but our server, Victor, barely seemed to be attending to them either. I asked for water three separate times. The third time, he even asked me what kind of water I wanted--and then never brought it. I ended up getting my appetizer, entrée, and even dessert without ever receiving a single glass of water. We heard to order everything at once because they tend to be slow and forget off the past reviews, but apparently I was supposed to ask for water at the same time too. For reference, I ordered the lobster, red snapper, the sampler plate, and the Cuatro Leche dessert. Unfortunately, the food was just mid--nothing memorable or worth coming back for. To top it off, while I was paying at the front, the table next to me was also leaving a complaint about their experience. It was clear I wasn't the only customer disappointed. Between the poor service and average food, I can't recommend this place.
I actually went here 5 years ago on another trip and so funny we ended up back here haha! I remember last time the food was absolutely BUSSIN and this round did NOT disappoint! We loved everything we ordered including the apps sampler, mofongo, and pineapple rice!
Oscar our server was awesome. He guided us through the menu. Food was good. Some dishes a little under seasoned- surprising but still good overall. Nice open air spot. Mix of tourists and locals.
Great food! I had pineapple rellano and the boys had different versions of shrimp. Oysters were great (pricey, I'll skip next time), service was great, cocktails were awesome, and we had such a lovely time. We'll definitely go back! The tiki bar was the perfect spot for a post sunset meal!
There is a valid reason why it revives so many stars. The staff is awesome. So is the view of the beach. However, by far the best food on my entire trip. From starter to generous and sweet lobster to Mofungo. Even their coffee, I mean espresso is excellent !

YUMMM!!!It was raining and we just got off the ferry boat from Culebra. (which is amazing!! and has according to everyone has Flamingo Beach which recently been named top ten beach in the world) So we were running on high anyways. We didn't know where to eat there are 60 kiosks most of which are closed but the concierge recommended different kiosks. We were so app we did. We ran into other tourists here so fyi it is a little pricey meant for tourist but YUM!! We liked our dish so much we came back again!! The tourists we met there also came back because their first experience was ,like ours, so amazing!!! These kiosks are on the beach. Luquillo is known to be a pretty beach. The bathroom is large and clean. I liked that because I had to bath a little after being on the beach all day. So the amazing dish? a whole fresh red snapper stuffed with calamari rice and maderas. $25 YUMMM we ate everything my friend has before and after pics we tore it up! the fish was so fresh it was light and flakey ad tender sweet flavor. Yes I am still starry eyed remembering it. We also had mojitos. Also tasty!! We came back after ziplining 3 days later!!! read more

Oh my! How do you make something awesome more awesome? You stuff it with something else that's awesome! Start out with a steamed whole red snapper. Ok, you have my attention. Now fly it open, de-bone it, and stuff it with seafood paella. You just blew my mind. I saw "red snapper stuffed with seafood paella" on the menu, and I knew it had my name written all over it. It was UH-MAY-ZING! I was like a little kid playing with a new toy as I picked apart this masterpiece. It was huge, though, and I demolished the whole thing (well, almost). This is a dish that can easily be shared between two people, but I was so enthralled with this precious sea creature in front of me that I couldn't stop. Top it off with a side of fried yellow plantains, and I was in heaven. I had just experienced a foodgasm and had trouble getting out of my chair when it was time to leave. Also tried the black bean croquettes. Interesting combination and very tasty. This place is right by the beach and is the first kiosk on the famous line of kiosks in Luquillo. Service was very friendly, and the owner came out to chat with us for a bit. Always a nice touch. read more

Stopped to eat after visiting the rainforest, El Yunque. Service was extremely slow but pleasant. Our group had the two different grouper dishes. They were excellent. Seafood mofongo, Chicken stuffed with plantains wrapped in bacon and fried pork. Also had the appetizer sampler and dumplings. All were very tasty with an awesome view of the ocean beach park. read more
Stopped by here after the Yunque Rainforest because we had to get to Farjardo later for the biobay tour. The restaurant is located along a huge chain of kiosks filled with bars, restaurants, & little shops by the beach. Parrilla is an open air restaurants with huge windows that allow you to feel & see the Luquillo shore right outside. Relatively busy with many tourists stopping by. The prices are a bit steep especially bc many of the other nearby kiosks looking quite drab. Entrees were $18-30. We had the beef & lobster pastelillos which are basically empanadas. The beef was better but both could have had more stuffing. BF had a half rack of ribs which he devoured. I ordered the shrimp amarillos mofongo. The best mofongo I had in PR. The yellow sauce was more of a creamy sauce rather than the creole sauces I had at previous restaurants. The shrimps were also HUGE, HUGE & fresh -- I was quite the happy camper. I also saw many people ordering a lobster dish which looked absolutely amazing. The lobsters are also fresh because there is a tank by the entrance filled with giant lobsters. I would be curious to try this dish as well. read more

I'm not sure where to start with La Parrilla. I could talk about the authenticity of the little kiosk by the beach... or maybe the attentiveness of the service... or the delicious Piña Coladas... all would be good openers. In the end, however, what makes La Parrilla special is all of these and more. Simply put, I've never had a more enjoyable meal. We had just come from El Yunque, and had worked up an appetite on the spectacular hiking trails up in the rainforest. We were seated promptly at La Parrilla, and got right to the business of the Piña Coladas. After ordering, the waiter told us we could take our drinks and check out the beach while we waited for the food (beach was beautiful). And then the food came... I had the Mofongo Relleno de Mariscos, and I can say with confidence that it was the best meal I have ever had. Number one. On the small chance you happen to be in Eastern Puerto Rico, I could not offer this place a higher recommendation. 10 stars. read more

Long overdue review. Dined here 6/28/14 with 2 friends. It's a short ride from Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa. Very easy to find. Upon walking in we were greeted right away. Small wait time, maybe 5 -10 minutes tops. If it was any longer, I cannot say accurately as I was entertained by the biggest live lobsters I've ever seen (photos to come). The aroma overpowered me (in the most delectable way). As we were walking to be seated, I tried my best to not stare at other's plates lol The menu was overwhelming in a good way. Sooo many choices, and with the smiles at each table and the aroma in the air - I knew the food had to be delicious - I wanted everything. My girlfriends and I were staying a resort without a fridge so we remained reasonable with our food choices and ordered 3 pastelillos for appetizers (delicious). One friend ordered the Churrasco entree, my other girlfriend and myself both ordered the red snapper stuffed with shrimp. Food came out in good timing, hot and fresh. The first and every last bite was absolutely divine, I was in heaven! We were all stuffed, yet one friend managed to squeeze a dessert in. She ordered the 4 leeches - she had zero complaints. Drinks, apps, entrees, and dessert came out to $110 including tax. Fair price for a wonderful, tantalizing dining experience! Should I visit this part of Puerto Rico again, I would absolutely come back here with an empty stomach! read more

Really, really awesome place. Came here while on vacation and ordered the Caribbean lobster, Thermador style. They take you to the back to first pick out your live lobster before they take it back to grill it for you. The server will warn you that the meal takes a bit to prepare, but the wait is totally worth it. Lobsters are huge and priced by the pound. read more

Really uneven experience. Some really good meals and one inedible snapper that was impossible to eat and very dry. The biggest issue was the ambiance. There were motorcycle gangs of high school kids walking through the restaurant and riding really loud four wheelers on both sides of the restaurant. Instead of trying to do something, the entire waiter staff encouraged them. Total 'bro' atmosphere with the waiters who were constantly in the way of guests. Gross bathrooms. If you love food that looks at you while you eat it, this is the place. read more

Food is great. You can also see the ocean when eating. Price is not accurate. Two people is near $90 not $$. They include the tip but did not mention. We almost paid tip twice. read more

The reviews are true. This could be the best restaurant (kiosk #2) in Luquillo. The giant Caribbean lobsters at the front of the restaurant call out to you. The mojitos help you during your wait for a table. The wait staff is intelligent and charming. The food - delicious. We had a number of dishes, including the stuffed pineapple, avocado with crab meat, grouper, and yes... the stuffed lobster. (Ours was 2 1/2 pounds - initially we were presented with a 4 pounder. At $25 per pound, 2 1/2 was more than enough.) Great time, great fun, great food. Definitely make this a destination on your visit to Puerto Rico. PS. I know this sounds like a shill... but it's not. Yum-my! Word of warning - data plans don't really work in most of PR, so if you plan on ordering based on these reviews, please make sure they are available when your phone is offline. This is where Yelp outshines any local recommendations. Yelp has the Luquillo kiosks - and La Parilla in particular - as the most reviewed places in the north east Puerto Rico, with the most consistent high star reviews. It was unfortunate that we did not get to check around this gem of a place earlier in our trip. On the kiosks in general - some 50 - 70 restaurants in one area, all serving local food with little pretense and abundant parking, and right off the main highway - doesn't get any easier to find your preferred food than this. Now to La Parilla. This was head and shoulders above the rest in the number and quality of reviews on Yelp, so we decided to go here on our only chance to check out the kiosks. For appetizers, the fried Yucas (Yuca Frita, $3 for 3) and Arepas (Arepas de coco o regulares, Puerto Rican dumplings, $0.75 each) were as good as fried crispy things get. Yuca fries are like finger chips, or really thick french fries. Dumplings - despite the name - are not filled with anything, they are similar to Indian Puris - fried dough that puffs up with just a hollow inside. Tasty stuff, both, made tastier with the addition of the local hot sauce and the dips. For drinks - my request for a non fruity drink with rum in it apparently sent the waiter on a quest to discover - and after a while he suggested rum and cola, which I politely declined. I now see I should have gone with rum and coconut, etc. - see my warning above on data not working in PR. Wife ordered a mango mojito - the mango part was ignored, but the mojito was fresh tasking and refreshing. For the main course - I definitely wanted a mofongo, as that's the in thing in PR and that's what I had all through the trip. I chose the jumbo shrimp only because it came with a different sauce - I had already tried the creole sauce a few times - but the waiter mixed up the conversation and thought I meant to have the jumbo shrimp *with* the creole sauce. Anyway - "Mofongo de Platano Maduros" (mashed sweret plantains with jumbo shrimp in *creole* sauce, $28.50) - did not disappoint. The creole sauce tasted a little better than the one at Pasion por el fogon - but pasion's presentation in a custom pot looked nicer. Also ordered on our table was the "Chillo Deshuesado" (Deboned red snapper stuffed with calamari rice cooked in its own ink, $32.50) - tasty as well, the rice cooked in squid ink was a nice new thing to try out for us. We skipped the steak mofongo based on reviews here - and after having tried steak in unrelated dishes on the island. We skipped dessert, hoping instead to hit the Golden Sweet Bakery in Fajardo. read more

Kinda pricey for a kiosk, but the mofongo and whole stuffed snapper were both the best I had on the island. That's saying something, since at least one of our group ordered those at every outing. The seafood stuffed plantains didn't look very appetizing, but tasted surprisingly good. The sauteed shrimps were huge and drowning in melted butter. Beverages were disappointing, so stick with Medalla. Don't forget your bathing suit. The beach behind the restaurant is as nice as it gets with calm clear water, no rocks and tons of sand dollars. read more
I haven't found any good food (and I mean by foodie standards) in PR until this place. The best fish I think I've ever had. Everything is so fresh (except like 2 appetizers but our waiter was honest about it). We petted our lobster on his journey from his tank to the grill... Poor guy... He was so delicious. The fried red snapper was whole and so fresh that it didn't even need any sauce (didn't care for the tomato sauce that it came with), there wasn't one bite that was even remotely fishy. It was sooo delicious. I can't even tell you - just order it, I promise you won't be disappointed. The drinks- so generous with the liquor - they pour you a whole glass of liquor then a splash of whatever you've added as a mixer. I was pretty gone after 2 drinks. The service- impeccable! Waiter and bartender were super attentive, informative, kind and did they job very well. Bonus points- view of the ocean! Gorgeous. Bottom line: I'd eat here every day if I could! read more

We went to El Yunque this morning and coming to La Parrilla after it, was the best idea! Workers are really nice and they have a great view at the back of the restaurant. We had a couple of appetizers and mofongo relleno de mariscos. The dishes are big, if you are not very hungry, share with someone else. I highly recommend this place! Empanadas were outstanding as was the fried shrimp entree. Unfortunately my whole red snapper was bone dry and tough. It made me sad :( Service was pretty good and eating lunch with ocean views is never a bad thing, but we had way better food at Terruño last night! read more

Hands down the best meal I had in Puerto Rico. This food kiosk (which is very large and actually has some fantastic seating in the back) serves up some amazing traditional Puerto Rican dishes and the freshest seafood around. Having been served some really bad Paella in Old San Juan the night before, Dr. Wife and I were hesitant to dive back into seafood, but we'd heard some good things about La Parilla and made the trip down to Loquillo Beach for our last night on the island. When you first walk into La Parilla, you're greeted with VERY friendly smiles and seated quickly. We were brought to a quiet table in the back, where there was a water feature and a very clean, nice fish tank filled with local fish. The waiter explained all of the day's fresh catches and a lobster dish that made my mouth water right away. We started with a tantalizing seafood soup that was filled with whitfish, fresh crab potatoes and carrots. Being hot sauce afficianados, both Dr. Wife and I sampled La Parilla's homemade brew (many food stands in PR make their own and this was no different). I wish I could have taken the bottle with me. It was perfectly balanced - a very nice blend of heat and vinegar that really complemented the seafood. No overpowering here. For our main course, Dr. Wife opted for a lobster dish that was on special, a 2 lb lobster split in half, removed and cleaned and seasoned with a citrus marinade before being grilled. The dish was then covered in a five cheese fondue that had marinated mahi mahi and fresh sweet peas in it. I had never tasted anything like it. It was amazing, perfectly balanced. I tried asking for the cheeses used, desperately attempting to find out how to re-create this amazing sauce at home, but alas, a well guarded secret. I went with a cilantro-lime piece of halibut with a side of red beans and rice. The fish was absolutely perfect. Chef really had great control over his reduction and provided just enough to make the dish interesting while allowing me to enjoy the texture and subtle flavors of the whitefish. This kiosk had it all. Small Puerto Rican charm, phenominal food and lots of locals. If I'm ever back in the Loquillo Beach area, I'll certainly be back. This one is a gem you should seek out if you're ever on the island. It's on the way to the Bio Bay as well, so be sure to stop if you're taking a later trip. read more
If you are looking for authentic Puerto Rican food, this is a great place. Some of the best fish and lobster I have had in quite a while. Located in a large group of other food vendors, it is near the end of a strip mall like lineup of Puerto Rican restaurants. Right off the main highway, it is super easy to get to. Just make sure to get there before the rush hour as even though there is a lot of parking, the restaurants gets super busy during the dinner hours. We started with the appetizer plate. Delicious variety of fried dishes that I had never had before. Cheeses, corn meals, plantains, etc, accompanied with some some sort of sweet sauce and another that resembled traditional fry sauce. As for the main course, I had the lobster stuffed with fish and cheese and all sorts of goodness. They let me pick my lobster, and they were big. They didn't have anything smaller than 2.5lbs, and I wasn't even mad about it. I believe the lobster is around $25/lb and it is 100% fresh and Delicious. The service was reasonable, and we didn't have to wait long to get a table. If you walk straight out the back of the restaurant you can get to the beach within 30 seconds. Great service, great seafood, and a great way to get some good authentic Puerto Rican food. I will definitely be going back. read more

So glad I found this place! Amazing margaritas, and delicious food, friendly service, and a great view of the beautiful blue water. The mahi mahi was slightly overcooked but my table was very happy with all that we ordered - a couple appetizers and main courses. We proceeded to roll ourselves onto the beach for a few hours. Excellent afternoon in Luquillo. I will be back. read more

If you come to el yunque make sure you make a stop at the kioskos in Luquillo Beach. There you will find La Parilla (its the very last kiosk). If you are looking for good puertorican food with a carribean atmosphere, this is the place. The location is outdoors with a lovely view of luquillo beach. Now, on to the food.... We started with an appetizer of queso frito (delish) and a meat pastel. We devoured both with no complaints. I then had mofongo de yuca and carne FRITA. I really enjoyed the yuca mofongo but found the pork to be a little too greasy. My bf on the other hand loved it. For his meal he chose la pechuga de pollo and tostones. The chicken came in a sweet bbq sauce which was ok but not typical of PR. Add a few medalla beers and you have a great meal. I gave la Parilla 4 stars not just for the good food but the ambiance. The service was a little slow but we were on vacation and not in much of a hurry. Once you're done eating take a stroll down the beach or jump into puerto ricos tropical waters. You won't be disappointed. read more

I had the steak and mushroom mofongo and it was absolutely delicious. I never eat that much and I didn't leave a bite on my plate. The skirt steak my friend had was also super delicious. We didn't think there would be a high-quality restaurant on this strip of kiosks - but we were wrong! YUM. Little pricey, but worth the extra cash. Oh and be sure to try the hot sauce - it was delicious here. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars. The best place around. If you in the area and you want seafood, good service and view don't even bother going to other places. It's also reasonably priced. Lots of things not on the menu, just tell your waiter what you in the mood for and get ready to enjoy it:) This is my second time here. I also visited few other kiosks and if I'm in the area and looking for lunch dinner or drinks, this is the place I'm choosing. read more

If you're on this side of the island, you absolutely HAVE to come to La Parrilla! I stuffed my face and enjoyed every minute of it! La Parrilla is shop #2 of 64 restaurants in the "Luquillo kiosks" strip. The strip itself is a sight to see, lively afternoon and nighttime crowds of friends hanging out has the heart of Puerto Rico in one food-filled area. In La Parrilla, it's all outdoor seating, there is an AC seating option, but we sat outside - there were lots of ceiling fans so we were cool the entire time. The kiosk style is like a garage open on both sides but much larger. Lovely nighttime Caribbean feel that completed the Puerto Rican vibe. I had the ~~ Piña Rellena de Arroz con Camarones ~~ (aka shrimp rice with pineapple and toastones) it's served with toastones, and the server was funny and nice, he really recommended he toastones when I said I wanted amarilloz, talking about the tastes complementing one another in the sweetness. I went with his recommendation and it is a great pair, he was right, but I personally preferred amarillos, so you'll win either way. It comes with a sauce that was a very nice touch, drizzle it on the rice and you'll be in love. I finished with only a few bites left, was not uncomfortably stuffed and was so happy the entire time I was eating it! All the flavors caped off with the pineapple sweetness sealed this meal and restaurant as my favorite in our entire trip, before it was even over. I'm sure I'll dream about it!! My brother had the ~~ New York Strip ~~ and my parents had the ~~ Grilled Lobster ~~ again, incredible taste and meals, beautiful and enjoyable! The service was friendly and great! It was busy but it wasn't a long wait for food. Come here and you'll never want to leave!! read more

Great food and service, our waiter Oscar was awesome. From providing recommendations to quick service. The bartender and busboy were great as well. Nice environment, sit upstairs to get the full ocean view. We all ordered something different and shared. I will be back on my next trip. read more
