CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY. We ordered 3 dishes and they overcharged us for all 3 items. Very SHADY. Would never return. As far as the food, nothing was great. We ordered: BBQ pork and imperial rolls over vermicelli. The pork was chopped up in itsy bitsy pieces like leftovers and way too salty. Imperial rolls and the fish sauce (on the sweeter side) were pretty good. Menu price shows $7.25 but we were charged $7.95. Bbq pork chop and imperial rolls over rice. Flavor of pork chop was good but very greasy and rice was slightly undercooked. Menu price shows $7.95 but we were charged $8.95. House special pho. Had beef, beef tendon, tripe and beef balls in it. Just ok. Not bad but not good. Broth was not clear. Menu price shows $7.25 but we were charged $7.95. Identity crisis. French name. Chinese workers. Vietnamese food. It was late. Everything was closed I wanted pho. They were open. They win. They only have two kinds of pho, chicken and their beef combo. Combo comes with rare steak, brisket, tendon, tripe. La Petite opens till 10:30pm, that's +1 star! It's a nice alternative for In-N-Out after 9pm. We had really good service during night time, our tea cups and glasses were never empty. They even thanked us on the way out. Now, as far as the menu choices, there're only 2 types of Pho (noodle soup). The X-Large beef bowl was very bland and disappointing. The real star dish is the 5 SPICE CHICKEN! The way it was marinated was amazing! Juicy, tender and flavorful. I'll come back again just for this dish. Le Petite Camille is one of the best Vietnamese pho restaurants that I have ever been to in the Peninsula. I've been coming here from middle school and now I'm a recent college grad. I come here every time I get home from college in LA to get my pho fix. Since we've been coming here for so long, I've tried a lot of their most popular dishes including the pho with everything, their amazing imperial rolls served with the most delicious fish sauce I've ever tasted, their thai iced tea, Vietnamese coffee which is espresso that's dripped in to a cup lined on the bottom with condense milk, the five-spiced chicken, thai spicy spaghetti, and the cold, soup-less pho. I've just discovered their fish pho which isn't on the menu yet, but hopefully soon will be so everyone else can try it! However, if you really want to try it, just request it. My family are regulars here, but I'm sure the owner will do this for anyone if requested. He's really nice and cares about his customers a lot. Definitely give this place a shot. Here's a word of advice to anyone that comes here. The food really ain't that good. The service sucks and it feels dirty in here. As for the people that run this joint. It would be a good idea to serve your customers that came in prior to others first. We waited 30 minutes and got no food while the table of 8 next to us who came in after us received their appetizers and entrees before we got anything. I have no idea why this place only has 3 stars! My family and I come here very often when we want to eat something cheap, fast and delicious in a nice establishment. This place serves up pretty bomb Vietnamese food. Very well lighted inside and clean tables. There tends to be a wait for dinners on Fri, Sat, and Sun nights. TOP DISHES TO GET: - Combination Appetizer Platter (whatever its called) - comes with rice paper and a hot bowl of water for you to soak the rice paper in the bowl and fill it with whatever you want inside. 2 plates of filling, one is a vegetable platter with lettuce, pickled carrots and the other plate is rice noodles, beef, eggrolls, shrimpcakes. This is great for sharing and its very fun to make! -Crab Meat Fried Rice - I absolutely cannot believe this is only 8.95. Seriously? There's chunks of crab meat in there and the portions are huge! Very well seasoned and delicious! I'd pick this over white rice anyday -Catfish filet in Chili Sauce (whatever its called #45 on the menu) - omg this is like garlic fish filet (no bones). NEVER AGAIN! Went for lunch with my coworkers and was accused by the owner for skipping out on the bill during our last visit which was only $30ish and totally not true! We didn't want to argue and paid for that AND the meal we just ate, but I have not been back since! HINT: Don't just leave cash for the bill and walk out or else they may do the same to you! Looking for a semi-fancy sit down Vietnamese restaurant with everything from Pho to banh mi? Easy to find and ample parking lot? Good service and decent pricing? Here's the place! I think I would definitely try to go here again and try some other stuff, but I got the Papaya Salad, Pho, and also a banh mi and everything was pretty good. The papaya salad was surprisingly good and of course, healthy. The Pho's broth actually has a lot of flavor and definitely was pretty big compared to the standard medium size bowl. They also packed a lot of the meat and had a good ratio between noodles and the meat/flanks. Definitely beats the rude pho place off Southgate in Daly City that I've been to. The banh mi was veryyyyy good. I think we got the pork one (I already forgot -__-;;;;; sorryyyyy), but the meat was really marinated. I think what I liked most was also the bread that it was made on. Unlike typical breads, this one was very "airy" and it wasn't too "hard." Sometimes some bread is just so hard that when I bite into it the roof of my tounge just starts to hurt. UHHh.. About time this place warrants a review from me. I got the #3 lunch combo - prawns with rice, salad, soup and imperial roll. The soup was great. I was thinking it will just be one of those quick soup they make to supplement your meal, but this one is a standout. A fairly more complex soup of shrimp, veggies, shrimp and pineapple. Yup, the pineapple was a sweet contrast to the spicy kick, very flavorful indeed. The roll was superb as well. Main dishes was okay. I didn't like the red sauce they drizzled on my shrimp. People on my table commented their dish was a bit salty and less tasty. Service okay. Place is clean, typical Vietnamese I guess. It can get crowded. Overall OK but I wouldn't drive all the way here for something better I can get close by. read more

After finding that the Vietnamese sandwich place that we wanted to eat at was closed, we made a circle and headed to La Petite for lunch on the day after Christmas. I decided against getting pho because all pho tastes the same, more or less, if done correctly. I wisely chose to get the five spice chicken over rice. I almost never get rice dishes at Vietnamese places because I'm too lazy to pick out all the bones and there is usually a lot of fat on the chicken. The five spice chicken is delicious and is the perfect serving size, leaving me satisfied and full. It is seasoned very well and you can still see bits of star anise. The imperial rolls also were some of the best I've ever had. They were small, but well seasoned and came with dry noodles and lettuce. They looked double fried to me, but I'm not sure. One tidbit from lunch: you know how when girl friends see each other (when they haven't seen each other in a long time or the run-in is unexpected), they go high pitched and run towards each other to embrace? It's probably not a good idea to mock their high-pitched voices as the small dining room of the restaurant really carries your voice as was evident with the shrieking, mock "OMG!" People will stare at you. You know who you are haha. Lastly, parking sucks in the tiny lot next to the restaurant so beware. read more

My husband and I came here for the first time tonight, and we were very pleased. We ordered the following: -Vietnamese crepe (appetizer) -Hot and sour soup -eggplant with coconut/curry sauce The crepe was very good, if not quite as crispy as the crepes served up at Sunflower in the Mission (alas!). The soup was good--lots of mushrooms, and some pineapple chunks were in there to lend a sweet counterpoint to the vinegar-tinged base. I the the eggplant might've been some of the best I've ever had. It came in a little clay pot and was a wonderful tender-but-not-soggy texture, with curry that tasted like Japanese brown curries, only a bit thinner. The cups for tea are large, and they make sure to keep them full! The service overall, was good, though we did have to wait quite awhile to have our order taken, and then again for the check. It was a busy night. We'll definitely be back sometime, though. read more

Here's the breakdown: 1) Service - absolutely sucks egg, even worse when the manager or the owner is not around. 2) Food - OK, but a lot of other joints with the same quality or better, so nothing special. 3) Ambience - sucks more egg, noisy and below average cleanliness - just take a look in the kitchen. You might barf. 4) Surroundings - not ghetto and some parking spaces available. 5) Price - not a deal but not super expensive either. Out of all the categories, poor service from the staff is what pulls the rating way down. They can care less if you are there. I have been there when their staff played their personal music super loud, pour tea rudely spilling it all over the place, barely look at you when you try to order, and give you an attitude when you ask for something. Just off of 101S, turn right at the Millbrae exit and another right onto El Camino Real. Friendly staff with big smiles to welcome you. Tea and water are quickly served and orders are taken immediately. Servers made suggestion on what to eat and explain how to wrap your rolls. For two people: -Beef on hot grill served with paper wrap and veggies -Tofu with green beans, stir fry -Five spice grilled chicken, super tender -Fried catfish (best I've tasted). Flakey and not greasy! No bones to spit out. Dip everything with their homemade fish sauce on rice and you're all set. Worth the drive! read more

I judged this place too harshly last time. I had a bowl of Pho here many years ago and it was so lackluster i was totally disappointed. However eating there again last night I found that the imperial rolls are DEFINITELY the highlight of this place! They were delicious and fresh tasting. My girl is Vietnamese and she said it was so far one of the "best tasting imperial rolls' in the Bay Area. Props. The Pho was really mediocre and taste a bit "watered" down as I remembered but the portions were pretty good. All of the rice plates and noodle plates are AMAZING though. This place should get a 4 star because its the only GOOD Vietnamese restaurant in the area. But unfortunately it doesn't deserve a 4 star. Their food is great, especially for lunch prices. The reason why it has 3 stars because of their service. They do have waiter service but its not very quick or frequent. They generally stay near the kitchen after seating you and taking your order. If you're only interested in Pho then their portions is are great. Sadly you don't get enough mints/basil with your plate of beans and lime. My family and I come here often! I'm obsessed with the BBQ beef. OBSESSED! I love ordering the BBQ beef spring rolls or the BBQ beef banh mi (which are both on the appetizers section of the menu). If I'm feeling super hungry, then the cold vermicelli with BBQ pork or beef is my jam. The prices are super reasonable, and it's also great for take out. It's Chinese-run, so if you speak Cantonese, that's of course a huge plus! Tips: Parking is pretty difficult - the lot is small, so if you find something on the street, it'll be much easier for you! Also the kitchen doesn't seem to be very well ventilated, so while the smells wofting out are delicious, be prepared for it to stick to your clothes! read more

He gave me an attitude when I asked him a question about the menu and his snarky response didn't even answer my question. Someone had called to make a pick-up order and he yelled "What do you want?!" Finally tried this place after passing by it and smelling all the goodness for the last 3 years... it didn't disappoint! Been back twice in the past couple of weeks since then. Pho is really tasty, broth is piping hot and the rare beef in the Pho Tai is lean and fresh... no rainbow sheen, chewy nastiness to be found here. All the fixins' are really fresh, the sprouts literally pop when you bite them, and there isn't a wilted basil leaf to be found in the joint. Jalepenos are muy picante and not rubbery at all... just like I love 'em. As other reviewers have noted, the Imperial Rolls are truly awesome, with enough vermicelli, cilantro and pickled veggies to fill you up on their own, easily. They have a lot of flavor without being overly salty or fishy with the sauce. I had a BBQ Pork sandwich my most recent order and it was excellent, probably one of the best I've had in awhile. Again, the veggies were super-fresh and the baguette was crusty and delicious. Didn't ask if they did croissants, but if they did I'd be all over that! Puts poor Lee's to shame ;) I can't comment on the cleanliness of the bathroom as I've only done takeout so far. The inside of the restaurant is always very bright and seems clean enough. It's always been mostly full when I've gone in, and the parking lot tends to be a tight squeeze if you don't know how to reverse well. I believe the location (other side of ECR from Broadway, Millbrae) is the only reason this place isn't more popular than it already is (and trust me, it's popular) The wait staff is always very friendly and ready with your order as soon as you cross the threshold. One of the most horrible place to eat and the service was terrible. A car parked in their lot by accident and I witnessed how rude they were. The yelled at them to mive their car...you get more with honey than vinegar. Service was horrible. ..everyone look pissed off. If you hated your job so much, get a new one...leave and don't take it out at the customer. They have no respect for their customers. We couldn't enjoy a quite meal because they were loud and cussed in their language...yes, I understood their cussing. Worst fish soup I've had anywhere. It was bland and lacked substance. My friend and I wanted to try a new restaurant and decided on this place for dinner on a Friday night. We arrived shortly after 6 and their parking lot was pretty much empty. Once we stepped inside, there was only one couple dining at the time and the guy who greeted us said that we could sit anywhere. So, we sat by the window. The waitress came over and gave us the menus. She came back twice before we finally decided on what to order. My friend got the rice noodles with chicken and I chose the garlic noodles with prawns. We both decided on the shrimp rolls for our appetizer. Our shrimp rolls came out first. They were a good size. The dipping sauce was really tasty. It was like a tamarind flavor with a spicy kick to it. After we devoured those, my friend's entree arrived, and mine came out a few minutes later. We were surprised to see that the portions were generous, so we shared our plates. My friend thought that her rice noodles were just ok. I would definitely agree with her. They weren't anything special. The veggies were good though, but for some reason I didn't really enjoy the chicken that much. The chicken tasted overcooked. My garlic noodles were blah. I've definitely had much tastier noodles elsewhere. I was also disappointed in the fact that their menu was misleading because it clearly said "with prawns," but I really received small battered shrimp. Not what I anticipated at all. Huge letdown! Service was decent. Our waitress came back to refill our water glasses a few times. But, towards the end of our meal when we got the bill, the guy who had greeted us when we arrived seemed rude when he asked if the bill was ready. I think he wanted us to leave because they were actually starting to get packed since the place is pretty small and a group of 7 people had just arrived. It's kind of a toss up, here. This is a pho restaurant for all intents and purposes, and as far as pho is concerned, theirs is mediocre. Broth was decent but uninspired, maybe even a little flat tasting. Noodles were passable, but not springy and great. Meats were standard. Even mediocre pho in this area is pretty good in my book, so it's difficult for me to rate any lower than 3 stars. But man, their "imperial rolls" (their name for fried viet rolls), are the best fried viet rolls I've ever had. Ever!! They distinguish themselves by serving them with a host of accompaniments including cilantro and rice noodles. And that is the reason you should visit this place.
