I've been coming here for years and one thing I love about the place -the food is consistently delicious and the service is great. Our family gets together here at least once a week. The ladies at la petite are always making sure you're seated comfortably. I have elderly parents and one uses a walker so they make sure they're both seated comfortably. As for the entrees- We start off with our favorite imperial egg rolls, Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee for drinks. Imperial egg rolls are about 2 in long 6 pieces with generous servings of lettuce, cilantro, pickled carrots, sprouts and sauce on the side. Thai tea is deliciously sweet, but love their ice coffee strong and sweet (yum!). Our go to entrees are steamed fillet of sole, five spice chicken, pad Thai chicken, and vegetable curry. The steamed fillet of sole is simple, delicate and flavorful -delicious. As for the pad Thai, five spice chicken and curry veggie. These dishes are delicious and flavorful on its own. But I have a way of eating these three dishes together. For some reason these flavorful dishes come together in a yummy way. Take a heap of pad Thai then take pieces of the five spice chicken, mix in the curry veggies with the chicken and noodles and take two spoonful of the curry sauce to top it- ack! Soo good. I'll keep this review short and concise. This place is great for a quick lunch or dinner. I don't care too much for the pho here but their rice plates are decent. The flavor profile of the pho here is a little different; the star anise was a bit over powering for me, and the noodle is a bit soggy. But overall flavor is so-so. Went to Milbrae today around noon, decided to do a Vietnamese food takeout order due to time constraint. You can't really mess up with Vietnamese food because the food preparation is relatively easier (except the pho soup base) and faster comparing to other cuisine and food is yummy. So did a quick search around the area and decided to do a takeout today at La Petite Camille since I never try it before. I was wrong and made a bad decision, probably it was a takeout order. The shrimp spring rolls were not wrapped properly, both ends were widely open and one of the rolls is completely broken. I never see a spring roll in my life in such disastrous condition. The rice vermicelli noodles in the grilled BBQ pork TN Cha Gio were all short pieces, it was extremely hard to eat with chopsticks, you basically have to eat it with a freaking spoon. Can you believe that you have to eat noodles with a spoon?! The menu has changed a little bit over the years but I think their banh xeo is great. I also like their vermicelli noodles. I also think they offer dishes that other places usually don't have. My family and I have been loyal customers to this restaurant since 2002, but that loyalty ends today. After a long and exhausting day of work, I was expecting to get the usual 5-star meal experience that me and my family have consistently received for the past two decades. Even though the staff welcomed me when I arrived and efficiently took my order, the quality of their service quickly deteriorated when my order was complete. As I was paying for my order, I casually asked for a receipt listing all of the items for my big order. Instead of handing me my itemized receipt, the waiter yelled "Here!" and rudely thrusted a ticket stub towards my face, as if I was at the dry cleaners (image attached below). I tried to clarify that I wanted to see the itemized breakdown of my order, but the waiter insisted, without trying to understand my request, "You paid cash!!" I tried to clarify my request again, saying, "I know I paid in cash! You don't have to tell me twice. I just want to know the price of the items I paid for." Sensing that our conversation was going nowhere, I decided to grab a menu on my way out to see the prices. The waiter noticed, and shouted, "The price isn't the same. Met up with a friend here for dinner on a Tuesday night at 6:30 and it was (surprisingly) pretty crowded! Had to wait a hot second for a table to clear up and be cleaned. To start, we shared the #1 imperial rolls ($9), which are deep fried rolls stuffed with minced pork, carrots, taro, and onions. They came with lettuce wraps and some vermicelli that I think you're supposed to wrap them in, but we ate the rolls by themselves. They were fried perfectly and not as pepper-y as the rolls I've had at other places, which I really appreciated. I chose #33 bo luc lac ($13), tender beef cubes stir fried with garlic, for my entree. My friend, who frequents this spot a lot more than I do, told me they're pretty hit or miss depending on the chef, but I think I got lucky as my dish was delicious! The beef was super tender and flavorful, but the portion was pretty big and I had a hard time finishing the dish. It comes with rice but I also ate it with the vermicelli that came with the rolls and that also complemented it well. I would definitely recommend taking a chance and ordering this dish :) The service was your standard Asian service, where you have to flag down someone anytime you want something.
