Pizza was fantastic and recommended by a local. It did not disappoint - the drunken grandma was the hit at our table

I would give zero stars if I could. I went in today to pick up an order for my job that was placed earlier in the day(at 11 when they opened for a 12 pick up) When I got there I was rung up and told my food would be out shortly. 10 minutes into my wait Danielle goes over to the host station and starts asking which took the order for, and starts rambling off some of my order. I asked her if she was talking about my order and produced my receipt for her. She said yes, that the kitchen misplaced my ticket(the food was ready not to worry it just needed to be bagged) fast forward 35 mins and I'm still waiting. I brought it to someone's attention and they told me they were still waiting on an item to finish cooking. So here I am watching people order baked ziti and other various items that need to be cook get their food and leave. Mind you this is not the first instance where there has been a problem. The last time they sent our food via delivery even though we asked for pick up. So I drove there and home in the time it was supposed to be ready and then had to wait an additional 30 mins for my delivery to come. The time before that the delivery guys car broke down and our delivery was over 2 hours late. So now this isn't an isolated incident this is a pattern of not being able to process large orders. My company will be going elsewhere for our lunches going forth. read more

Excellent! As a 100% Italian from Western NY, this is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. The sauce was perfect, the meatballs were delicious, and that salad dressing was unreal! The pasta was done just right. Garlic knots were great too. Staff was kind and the restaurant was very clean. We will be back! read more

I have been going to La piazza for over 20 years and they honestly never disappoint. I will say this is not where I would for for a regular slice as there are so many places in the area with a better regular slice but their specialty slices are superb. They hands down have the BEST buffalo chicken slice I've ever had. The grandma slice is also amazing. Some other shining stars on the menu are their grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, and croutons that can be added to any salad, Caesar dressing, mozzarella wedged, chicken primavera. If you find yourself in the area stop by for a specialty slice. read more

Amazing Restaurant... The Entire Menu Tastes Incredible. 20,000 stars go to the water refill guys who work around lunch time. Those boys don't play NO games. I took 1 sip of water, you guessed it, filled to the top. I was there for about an hour, constantly sipping my water, these guys didn't let my water fall below the HALF WAY mark. Service, Service, Service. You don't get that kind of service anywhere else. This place is great in every single way of the word great, it's not just the water refill guys. I always try different things on the menu and there is actual flavor to everything. My grandma makes better food than most of the restaurants out there but this place? Sorry granny. Not a chance. Good afternoon folks I wanted to bring this to your attention because I was not aware of what this place was doing till I got hire there. I was hire as a delivery driver I was there only one hour because all the young drivers were so happy to say they had COVID and the owner didn't care for them. They started to cough on each other saying you should join us so we all have COVID. The servers didn't seem happy by the treatment they receive from the owner and I didn't see the cooks wearing a mask. I used to love this place. Stopped here after going to the nearby bank, and was pleasantly surprised to find an excellent place for pizza! I ordered a plain slice and a white - both were very tasty - crust was thin and crispy , ingredients were very good and the sauce on the plain slice was really good. La Piazza's popularity perplexes me. While the pizza is on the better side, it's restaurant side is pricey, usually has a long wait and fails to do Italian food justice. The pasta and entrees cost around $20 at dinnertime and around $12 during lunchtime for substantial portions that offer very little in terms of taste. I ordered the Penne Melezane and found that the penne was cooked well beyond al dente and the dish as a whole lacked any pizazz. If I had a box of pasta, an eggplant and a jar of pasta sauce I could easily make something better at home in the time it took for us to get seated and order food. The restaurant's a touch louder than average and filled with families in a cozy setting. Because of the constant movement from the pizzeria out front and the kitchen in the back, the place feels hectic at all times. Looking for a better family restaurant option than the big chains. The number of similar Italian restaurants in the area do a better job at filling this niche. In summary La Piazza does well with pizza and knots, but don't bother with the restaurant, especially not for dinner. read more

Salmon piccata was more like a chunk of overcooked fish in artichoke lemon soup, edible, way overpriced at $28. Caesar salad was ... well ... a tossed salad? Seriously, shredded carrots, tomato, sliced cucumber and olives. I know it's a Caesar because she repeated it back to me when I called. The cheesecake was missing. Not from the receipt ($8.50), but damned if I could find it in the bag. What a great scam. Ok so I absolutely love la piazza of bellmore/Merrick. We are a frequent customer card holder it's amazing. We were driving around for food. Where to go. We saw la piazza of plainview and said ok let's do it. Upon entering we walked to the dining area where servers and host were just standing around talking. My gf said is it seat yourself? The girl rolled her eyes and sat us without a word. The bread came and was like somebody sat on it. This was not the la piazza we were used to. The gf ordered a three combo pasta plate. Penne ala vodka, cavatelli bolognese and a rotini Mac and cheese. You can see from the pic which was the best. The Mac and cheese was amazing the flavor and creaminess. The ala vodka went barely touched as it had an overpowering onion flavor. The bolognese cavatelli were very over cooked. I decided on bolognese myself. I like that you can sub tortellini for no charge so I did it. Um well it was bland. Everything in my bowl was bland and mushy. No seasonings nada. Decided to pass on dessert as well. I've been a long time customer and I can honestly say the quality of the food and service has deteriorated drastically. I just ordered from there this evening and chose to pick it up because whenever I have it delivered some thing is always missing. I ordered the penne à la vodka this evening and it's not edible. I don't know if there was a mistake when they prepared the sauce but it is horrible. The only thing I taste is onion. I cannot eat it. Very disappointed. I've tried calling La Piazza to express this, but unfortunately I was not able to speak with anybody there. read more

First timer here... please note that I had a severely burned mouth but my fiancé asked to take me out to dinner to a new place so I told myself I need to push through the pain. The bread was warm and amazing, I never eat bread when I go out really but I couldn't stop, and I totally forgot about how much my mouth hurt bc it was so yummy. Their penne ala vodka was THE BEST SAUCE. I CANT STAND that any time I order pasta anywhere I am always so disappointed with how bland the sauce is but oh my gosssh it was sooo delicious the flavor was so well-spiced I would drink it. The chicken madiera was a dish I noticed at Cheesecake Factory & I love it so I had to try it. I was blown away. Big portion so I brought it home, and finished it as soon as I got home. I took my staff for our holiday meal. We went for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was busy with very few open tables. I had been their restaurant in Merrick many times and here once before. Most of the table ordered the lunch menu. They all said the food was good. I was a little upset that the waiter had to go back and ask a lot of questions. If the soup was vegetarian. If there was cheese in the dressing. He must have been new. When we established that none of the soups were vegan, we asked for just a larger house salad. I was charged the same amount as if she had gotten the lunch special and the salad was no bigger than the lunch size. The penne ala vodka was good and had lots of prosciutto. The calamari arrabiatta was good but not enough of a kick. We will give it another try read more

Not sure how I haven't written a review for La Piazza, especially since I've had their pizza over a dozen times. Everything here is delicious, but the real star is the pizza (obviously). I've had the sandwiches, calzones and rolls and while they are decent, it's nothing in comparison to their pizza. Yes, a little pricey, but well worth the splurge. The selection changes on slices, based on what they have left, but you'll definitely find something to satisfy your craving. Delicious pizza, a must try! read more

Went to NY for the first time and i wanted to try a NY pizza and garlic knots. Stopped by this place because the other places were too hard to find parking (in the middle of Flushing downtown). Pizza was okay. nothing special. I've had better pizza in LA. Garlic knot was very dough-y. Overall, it was an okay pizza place. I only had one slice, it didn't leave my mouth wanting more. But the two locals i went with liked this place better than Mary's(?) on Long Island, so I guess it's good. read more

La piazza in Planivew is very consistent and has excellent food and their pizza was excellent. Been coming here for years ,but now their pizza is very very thin you can't even pick it up to eat ,you have to use a knife and fork ,since inflation every one is cutting back which is not fair ,also they are raising there prices though $25.00 for a pizza pie is ridiculous everyone else is $18.00 to $20.00 I don't get pizza there anymore to thin like a napkin . I love this place and come here all the time at least twice a month I don't think anything is bad here! I even have their rewards card haha but find it funnier that they have one as well as an iphone app! My favorite dishes here are the pesto roso (not on the menu), penne madeira, penne alla vodka, baked ziti, chicken parm, chicken rollatini alla tuscana and the chicken madeira. As for the pizza nothing gets better than their Crispino slice which is truly a slice of heavenly perfection! We were seated in the back probably because I was wearing sweat pants. I had a buffalo chicken slice of pizza to start. The crust was crispy, the chicken was tender, and creamy blue cheese made for a delicious bite. Next I had a Cesar salad which was good. The romaine was fresh, the homemade croutons Were crunchy and buttery. The dressing did the trick. I finished the meal with a platter of Veal Parmesan. There were four moist, and superbly battered veal cutlets. I opted for bolognese sauce for a $1.50 up-charge which made all the difference to me. It was a fantastically filling meal. read more

I really, really wanted to give this place 5 stars for the food - seriously top notch quality Pizza - but the counter service is immensely rude. I called an order in and I went to the check out counter to pay, and I was ignored while other customers continued to order food and pay. The one staff member who didn't outrightly ignore me felt a need to explain three times that there was a line to order food - not at all relevant to my order because I called it in for a pick-up. Hopefully management sees this and will educate their staff. For now, I'll be enjoying pizza from Umberto's. read more

When you try to order an overpriced lunch salad through ubereats its doesn't allow you to pick 2 add ons such as chicken and mozzarella. I received a rude call from a woman 10/9/20 around 305pm thinking I was trying to get over saving $1.50 for mozzarella on a $16 salad with chicken. Not my fault they don't have it programmed correctly. No issues ordering through Merrick location. Mind you she made no mention of subtracting any $ since I took off many ingredients from the salad. If I was running a business I would due my own due diligence and research a potential problem before accusing a customer. I think this is the best pizza I've ever had! The Sicilian marinara pizza is unlike anything I've ever had and is a must try with lots of sauce on top and not cheesy like most pizza. The Sicilian cheese is excellent as well and the garlic knots are the best I've ever had. Nothing fancy and is just great, cheap food to eat there, take out, or delivery. It's authentic and the guys working there were talking to each other in Italian. I liked it so much I went back a second night, I ordered a couple garlic knots and they gave me a big bag of them for free since they were about to close. All around "meh" experience. Ordered out of here through Uber eats and the restaurant forgot a dish. No big deal, just call up and let them know right? We call and politely let them know, to which we were told that we, the customers, would have to call Uber eats ourselves, to send yet another driver to pick up the dish they forgot to put in our order. Normally, as somebody with experience in the service industry, you'd do your customers a favor and have one of your OWN drivers deliver the food, or offer a pickup, not continue doing business through a third party site that contributed no fault in the situation. We get in contact with our uber driver, who informs us that the restaurant is now saying the food was in the bag the whole time, acting clueless about the whole situation, and refusing to replace the dish. Fine. We go back and check the receipt, come to find out that the dish was in a different color font than all the other dishes that were delivered, meaning it never got rung through and confirmed in the order. We go back through the Uber site and get a refund for the one missing dish through there and finally decide to start eating the food that at least managed to get to our house. Everything was cold to lukewarm, despite having been delivered earlier than the Uber app had estimated and had remained covered the entire time through attempting to track down this one missing dish. We ordered the zuppa de cozze, which provided such a lovely dining experience as we cracked our teeth on sand every other bite. A restaurant that doesn't wash their mussels? Great!! Somehow their dressing for the Caesar salad was spicy, which could just be a difference in taste, but idk one restaurant that you have to specify you want your salad without heat. The rest of the food tasted fine, but nothing special, especially at the room temperature it arrived at. Would really remain careful about ordering from here, this was upwards of 200 dollars in dishes, and we somehow still didn't receive the quality of food someone would've expected from a chain restaurant with more dishes. The place used to be jumping but now the activity for this location is for the takeout line and the dining room is empty. We soon found out why. Our orders came out quickly enough and the fried mozzarella bites were good but my eggplant rollatini was mostly cheese and sauce and the eggplant had a vinegary taste to it like it was preserved instead of it being fresh. Terrible stomach cramps that night that overmatched the Tums and ginger ale i was bolting down. My wife's chicken primavera was good according to her but she had trouble sleeping as if the dish had way too much garlic. Based on the recent comments it appears as if the quality has slipped to the level of an Olive Garden. It's Vincent's Clam Bar for us from now on when we're in the mood for Italian food. read more
