I'm from the Northeast US -- Pizza country, so that's where I'm coming from. First off the pie was EXPENSIVE, like 25 bucks a pie. If they had specials, they didn't clue me in when I called u. This crust is spongy, about on par with Domino's. Sauce not memorable. This is not as good as Papa John's. It's certainly not good pizza. Don't believe the other reviews on here. That's what persuaded us to go to La Pizza. 1. The atmosphere was of a small diner and the staff didn't really know much about their pizza. 2. The Pizza was definitely sub par and reminded me of a crappy Little Ceasars pizza with the crust being bland. The cheese was very greasy and the toppings tasted old and anything but fresh. 3. This wouldn't be so bad if they didn't present themselves as being a gourmet pizza joint and charged as such. If this was a $10 pizza I wouldn't have so many complaints but because the pizza we ordered was $23.99 it is hard not to complain. I would have much rather had a Domino's pizza which would have been less and far better quality. I am sorry to have to leave such a poor review but my family and I all agreed and we wanted to keep other unsuspecting people from falling victim to the reviews on yelp for them. read more

Loved this place and the pizza but tonight I went there and ordered a fountain drink and was drinking out of it all night in the dim light. I kept tasting pepper in my drink and came to realize it was FULL of ants. I told the man working and he just drugged his shoulders and said sorry then comped that one drink off and charged me for everything else. read more

I love this place! I have been going here for years! The owner is awesome, one time i went in with two friend and we all couldn't decided on one pizza, so he made one part with chicken pesto, one part combo, and the other part plain cheese. It was awesome! The place is tiny and cramped, and outside is loud on a busy street, but the pizza is the best! read more

For a small place, with one person working, this place is great! We got 2 medium pizzas, one had pesto on it, the other was cheese and sausage/pepperoni? Whatever they were, it was good. There was only one guy working, and we were worried it would take awhile.. but the pizza came out in a timely fashion. It's super small inside, only 3 tables, luckily it was gorgeous outside so we had our meal al fresco. Service was great, he brought our pizzas out to us, even brought plates, pizza condiments (pepper, cheese) and the napkin dispenser, and also the check to us! Super nice. The pizza was yummy, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh, but I'd say most of my stars are because of the great service. Kudos to you, that one guy working that day! 3.5 stars Since we were in the area and this restaurant got such great reviews we decided to give it a try. First impression when we walked in was, this can't be the right place. It's small, unattractive and empty. We got to talking with the only other person there who was the owner/cook and within minutes he talked us into a medium pizza (we had gone in to get two slices). Since business was slow, he threw in a couple of fountain sodas and some toppings for free but the pizza was still close to $20. It was ready in about 10 minutes and was excellent. Definitely soaked up all of the wine I had been tasting for the last couple of hours. Good, fresh dough and flavorful cheese. I rarely leave reviews but my two kids and I have tried the pizza all over this town and La Pizza is our go to! It is THE best in Healdsburg. Heck it's the best in the County. I like my pizza with tons of toppings I get it every time. My kids like cheese with minimal oils, perfection. Each time we bring new visitors there, they are happily surprised with how awesome it is! Had La Pizza - for lunch today - went in actually to have the wings, but when I got in there, a pizza must have just came out of the oven, cause it was smelling like Heaven - so I decided on the lunch special (slice and a coke = $4.75) for lunch today. Had the sausage Great spicy sauce, good amount of cheese, and just the right amount of grease on top. The best I can say about La Pizza is that they are friendly and got the pizza delivered sooner than anticipated. Other than that, the pizza crust, which is clearly factory made and frozen, is awful, the "large" is a medium size anywhere else, and it's hard to believe the pesto sauce is homemade. Instead of spending $25, not including the driver's tip, you can buy a better pizza from the frozen food section of any supermarket for less than half the price. read more

This was one of those places we stopped at because we were so hungry we couldn't drive any further without something to eat. And then, thanks to Yelp, we had some of the best garlic cheese bread ever. (Note the cheese costs extra). We also ordered the vegetarian sandwich, which was delicious, though admittedly heavy on the olives. If you are just so-so on olives, my advice would be to ask to skip them here. Otherwise, the sandwich was delicious. It also came with a small side salad. Iceberg lettuce, nothing special, but I appreciated even a light green salad at that point. read more

I'd give this place a solid 4 stars. Is it the best pizza I've eaten? No, it's not. It's also far from the worst pizza ever though. The inside is small but cute, not a great place for a large party, but a fun quick pizza date would be nice. We ordered 3 medium pizzas (Pizzaiolo (all meat), BBQ chicken, & Chicken Parmigiana) which came to about $54. My husband LOVED the Pizzaiolo but I didn't try it. The chicken parmigiana was delicious with a fun and flavorful ranch sauce instead of regular pizza sauce. It didn't quite taste like pizza, more like a casserole on pizza crust. I wasn't a fan of the BBQ sauce used on the BBQ chicken, but other people were. Pros: Super fast Super friendly Good choice of drinks Cute interior Good range of pizza choices Cons: Maybe a bit expensive? Overall: This place is super close to my house and my husband and I will be getting pizza there again. You just can't beat the convenience! The pizza tasted better and was definitely less salty than Mountain Mike's which is our other closest delivery pizza option. 5 stars for customer service: My husband and I tried La Pizza for the first time, and we ordered a medium pepperoni with fresh garlic and extra garlic. The cashier (who was new) charged us for three topics, which seemed reasonable to me. But a few minutes after we ordered, the manager came out and told us that the cashier had overcharged us. He gave us our choice of a free beer for compensation. Every employee that we encountered was super nice. We were there until closing time and did not feel rushed or anything. 4.5 stars for the pizza: I definitely liked the pizza, but I have to admit that I have had better. Their pizza beats all franchise pizzerias, though. Plus I really like that they make their own pizza sauce from fresh, local ingredients. I could actually taste the garlic topping, and their sauce was good. In fact, they advertise that most of their ingredients are organic, fresh and local. 3.5 stars for the environment: This pizzeria seemed like the type that most people order for take out or delivery. The seating was clean but small inside. The outdoor seating, while nicely lit with white party lights, was next to the main road in Healdsburg, which gets its fair share of traffic. I tried pizza here, upon moving to town, and being a chef, and it was "okay" but next time I craved pizza-thought I would prefer my own version, so on my 2nd visit I asked if I could please purchase just the dough to make my own at home (not enough time for me to wait on my dough to rise that night). The owner was so rude and downright irritated at me that I will never step foot in here again. No is an acceptable answer, but being nasty about it, is just not cool. UPDATE: The manager to be owner reached out and apologized, but he wasn't the guy that I dealt with on my visit, some time ago. It was kind of expensive for one pizza, though. We wanted to grab a pizza to go and have some wine at a picnic area, so we asked for four cups. We are then charged $2 for the four cups. Probably costs about $4 for an entire roll, but whatever. The pizza was good and that's all that matters. But as soon as we walked in, the smell of cleaning supplies filled the restaurant and overwhelmed the smell of pizza. We then asked for ranch dressing and was told it was $0.50 for a small cup, which was disappointing, but still we paid. When we asked for plates we got the exact number we needed...4. I understand that everything has a price, but at $25 for a pizza and in Healdsburg, you would think that small things like that would be overlooked by an establishment. Overall, the pizza was good. But I probably wouldn't come here if I had a choice between that and some cheaper pizza. read more

We are renting a house near the town and called during the week for a delivery just 10 minutes before they closed. Other places would not deliver, but these guys did. Just a pizza, salad & wings but it came fast and with friendly service all around. Great fresh herb taste on the pizza. I ordered from La Pizza for a business meeting in early February. Ordered turkey sandwiches, the barbecue chicken sandwich, vegetarian sandwich, and pesto sandwich. The sandwiches are delicious! Every one of us loved the sandwich we had. The food was delivered right on schedule, and the sandwiches were incredibly fresh and as hot as if we were eating at the restaurant! The owner is very friendly, and even helped by sending a duplicate receipt a month later. Love this place and will definitely eat here again when I'm in the area. La Pizza makes the best pizza in Healdsburg. Sure, Divine has a nicer dining room, but do they have the perfect combination of sauce, cheese and soft crust? Sadly, no. I usually find their pizza to be too hard and dry. La Pizza, on the other hand, delivers topping-laden discs of pure yumminess. This place is in a small shopping area at the south end of town. It is very small, but might be good when the sun is out because they have a little outdoor patio. The place was very clean and small!
