Mexican dinner, two beef enchiladas, cheese enchilada, beef taco, guacamole salad, beans and rice.

The food is great, wife and I had the Mexican dinner $16.95 and you get a lot of food with lots of flavor. It is in a clean house decorated well. We will come back.

Love the old house restaurant. Nice front patio. We were able to get seated right away upstairs. No restrooms up there. Food came out fast. We ordered the chicken burrito. It's huge and very tasty I was only able to eat half. Tried their Beef Fajita Enchiladas with rice and beans, the beef was kinda over cooked . The 7 Mares Shrimp Cocktail was ok

I had not dined here but my sponsor has. This restaurant is not new but it has been maintained and provides an entertaining environment. Rarely are restaurants located in vintage residential structures. That is one of the attractions that makes this feel authentic. We dined here with friends on a Saturday evening, there is accessible and adequate parking. We were greeted and taken to a very comfortable dining table. Vs some restaurants that point and say " pick out your spot". We started with table side guacamole served with tasty chips and salsa. My sponsor ordered the Flauta Dinner. I am still experimenting with fish soups so I ordered Caldo De Cameron (shrimp). Our friends ordered traditional Mexican dishes with tacos, enchiladas, fajitas. The evening was pleasant and the flavors especially tailored to the chefs personal preference.

The food was good but nothing crazy. The restaurant looks like it might have been a house back in the day and had a cozy feel. Downside was it was super hot in there. I was sweating while eating my meal. Service was average. It's a good spot, just not the best spot.

This is usually my go-to place for Mexican food. In wanting to treat myself to eating out, I quickly chose La Playa Maya. There food is top notch: hot and out in minutes; however, not this time. Seems like the food was warmed over in the microwave as the taste and temperature were less than stellar. Guess that's what I get for eating a late lunch mid-afternoon (around 3 p.m.). Anyway, I won't let this poor experience deter me as the place has been great every other time I've eaten here.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! this restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and is super cute! Authentic and tasty food and perfect family environment or birthday dinner environment! I love how it's a mix of casual/nice and the workers are extremely kind! Such a hidden gem that doesn't get the attention it deserves! The fajitas were great! You def get the bang for your buck! The quesadillas hit the spot with the soft fluffy flower tortillas and the fish tacos here are to die for! Best fish tacos I've ever had and you get 3!!! They all come with a generous serving of rice beans sour cream and guacamole! Chips and salsa are nothing special but not bad! Definitely go check it out!

Food was ok. My mom rants and raves about the food so I went with her to see what the hype was about well it wasn't all that. The fajita beef was dry but the chicken was pretty good. For a $17.99 fajita medley plate it could of been better and very skimpy on the portion and veggies. As for the service it's ok no long waits or terrible service it was very smooth. What I didn't like was the lack of salsa or at least spicy salsa.

If there's one person I like going to restaurants with it's my mom she's my best friend we've always gone to all sorts of places one of those places is la playa maya on Hemphill. We moved to the Tcu area late 92 and we've been going there ever since we've always came here since high school. This is where I found the el yuca teco habanero hot sauce which I've been using on just about everything since (my favorite ) Today I got the spinach quesadillas and flan perfect!! La playa maya will always be special to me and my family . La playa maya gets 5 stars from me (perfect) !!!!!!

The service is great, and the Chicano art painted throughout the restaurant gives the whole place such a cool, authentic vibe. They're your typical trendy taco place, with their own selection of merchandise and crazy/cheesy jokes strewn about on t-shirts and signage. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
