The strawberry milkshake was so good. Very refreshing and thick. Loved it. The vibe is great. Hookah is fantastic: smooth and easy to take in. Just be aware the music is extremely loud here so it's hard to have a conversation. Bring earplugs to muffle the sound a bit. They have games so you can play while you smoke. Hearing each other will be difficult. Mera's Tip: get a shake

I've never left a review before but this certainly deserves it. TLDR: They put things on the menu that you don't actually get and leave prices off the menu that you will get charged for. Cold, cramped, and my friend saw people in the kitchen handling things and not wearing masks. Curly fries were good. Masala cheese fries had maybe two lines of cheese but tasted good. Shisha We ordered the Paan masala and strawberry margarita ones. They were okay but we have had much better. The issue arose with having to pay extra for the disposable pipes in addition to the actual shisha which was not mentioned on the menu. Are we expected to puff straight from the shisha stand? With all due disrespect, you're scummy for leaving us with no choice but to pay. When we asked the waitress about it, she said "Ohh sorryy that's just because we can't use the regular pipes now." SO UPDATE YOUR MENU. Don't tell us after we get the hookah and when you give us the receipt. PLUS, she was also about to charge us for another disposable pipe because the one they originally put in fell on the floor. Classy. Freak Shake I ordered the Red Velvet Oreo Freak Shake which according to the menu was supposed to include a red velvet donut, chocolate drizzle and white chocolate drops. Let me just say how "happy" I was to NOT see any of those toppings that I expected to receive on the shake they gave me and still get charged the full price of $13. Really? I only ordered the shake because they apparently ran out of their cakes yesterday which is why we came here. The shake itself tasted good- more milk than shake but it was aight. Just so you know, there IS a discount for leaving a review which is likely the only reason you see a good review. It was so cold in there and we asked to be reseated somewhere near a heater and she squished us in a tiny corner which yes, was heated. Intermittently.

Came here to celebrate my friends birthday. The staff were very nice! They were attentive, fun, played music requests and all. My only dislike was the food. I'm sorry but everything that was order was fried hard or extremely salty. The presentation of the sweets were very nice though. If you want to go for hookah then sure, but def not for food.

It was a lot of items missing in the menu, I really don't know why they just don't make a QR menu, that they can actually update daily with what they do have. The food was really good. (Butterfly shrimp and the masala cheese fries). We tried The Nutella cosmic crepe cake, and just as the menu says "it was addictive". Really good. Our 1st hookah was the Mango Paradise; We personally didn't like the after taste of it. Our 2nd hookah was the White Mint, this one really make it up for us. But by far the best of the night was the Mocktails, we had 4 of them; Cherry cola blast, Black currant lemonade, Lychitini and the Jalapeño Margarita. I almost give them a 4 star, but the food and the hookahs take a little to long, (it wasn't even busy).

Visited this location recently (during COVID) to celebrate with a friend on a Saturday Night. We arrived and were abruptly seated. A plus because it was a nice crowd inside and not many employees from what we could see. We ordered Lychee Martini's aka "sweet juice"; they do NOT serve liquor as many previous reviews have mentioned. However their drinks and milkshakes are craft style and extremely tasty. The hookah here is strong but has excellent flavor, we ordered the white peach flavor mixed with mango. Also we ordered mango juice instead of water inside the hookah which added an extra amount of fruity flavor with each pull that we loved! The waitress was very busy however still anticipated our needs and came to check on us frequently. She fixed our hookah for us because whew it was far too strong for our baby lungs and it was perfect. I wish we didn't eat before coming here because OMG allll of the food looked amazing. Everyone around us was ordering food and everything looked so good. Definitely check this place out but come with an appetite! We plan to return!

The service was the best we have received in all of New York. We went to several places while traveling and it does not compare to sugar and coal! They are top notch with the level of service they were able to provide. The server asked us what we liked and made us a special blend based on the types of flavors we preferred. The mock tails were really good too! The atmosphere is chill and like a lounge should feel. We were able to after a long day Im the city. Thank you !!!

I wasn't expecting much when I walked into Sugar N Coals Woodside location, mostly because their Rego Park location was disappointing in every aspect. However, to my surprise, this location was completely different. HOOKAH: I usually only smoke hookah that has Paan in it, but decided to try Green Lantern on my visit because it was recommended by one of the servers. The flavor was good, the pull was thick and it lasted a good while so I would definitely recommend it. DRINKS: Got the Sugarcane Colada because I had tried it in the other location and loved it, however the taste was quite displeasing here. When I complained about it, the server had told us they were missing ingredients to make the drink as it is supposed to be made. So it was weird to me that they even served it to us, however they were nice enough to give us a complimentary Strawberry Mojito which was amazing! FOOD: For food, we tried some apps. Got the Wings w/threefold sauce and Curly Masala Fries w/cheese. Definitely recommend both, they were delicious! DESSERT: For dessert we tried the Nutella Cheesecake Crepe, which was to die for. And the Strawberry Shortcake Waffles, which were ONLY aesthetically pleasing. The waffles were soggy and tasted nothing like Strawberry shortcake. The service was great and the servers were nice and friendly. The interior of the hookah lounge is also beautiful. All in all, I'd definitely return to this spot and recommend it to you all.

Sugar n Coal really delivers delicious dessert & quality hookah! I've been a regular at their first location on Woodhaven Blvd & it's nice to see their expansion. This place is conveniently located near the train station, 2 minutes away from 65th Street on the M/R. The hookah was perfect! We got Ice Ice Baby which lasted about 2 hours. The coals were changed frequently and the flavor didn't burn the entire time. The shisha box is extra but allowed for more smoke without being harsh. I recommend getting it for beginners! The rose teapot was so flavorful and full of spices without being overpowering. It was sweet and had floral petals inside, enough for 4 people. All of the desserts here are amazing, I've had them at the other location and my favorite is the tres leches cake. Overall the whole experience was nice and I would definitely come back!

The restaurant is beautiful and the food was good, but the prices are basically like Manhattan…read moreprices and the dress code is kinda crazy. Like what do you mean no flats and no coats?? (See photo). There's no happy hour menu, so we just ended up getting drinks and starters. Pulpo Al Fuego - (4/5) Octopus was delicious but the potatoes were just okay (wish they were roasted or fried). Tostones Fridas - (5/5) These were good and very filling! Virgin Piña Colada - (5/5) Sooo good. There were also free chips and salsa which tasted great as well. Our servers (mainly Fatima) were nice and our food came out quickly. One also chased after us when she realized an umbrella was left behind which was nice of her.

The Good: Our Server: Absolutely amazing! Attentive,…read moreprofessional, and easily the highlight of the entire evening. The Ambience: The physical space and decor were very nice and well-designed. The Bad: The Gatekeeping vs. The Reality: The restaurant tries hard to pose as a high-caliber, fine-dining establishment--even going so far as to request that guests remove their hats and sunglasses before entering. However, this "elite" illusion was immediately shattered when we were welcomed by a hostess aggressively chewing gum like a cow. If you're going to enforce a strict, upscale dress code, the front-of-house staff should match that level of professionalism. The Vibe Dissonance: While the decor was lovely, the music and the DJ completely clashed with the overall look and feel of the venue. It felt confused about what kind of establishment it wanted to be and loud. The Food & Drinks: Mediocre: The food was just okay, and the drinks were simply alright. Nothing stood out or justified the high-end posturing. The Verdict: It was an interesting experience to try once, but between the mixed signals and average menu, we wouldn't go back.
