As if they didn't deserve the 5 stars for their food and service we ended up being stranded at the restaurant and no cab service would drive out to get us. Eddie, one of the waiters so kindly and graciously offered to give us a ride back to our hotel. He had such an amazing attitude and was so kind to us. The bread here is amazing!! I loved how fresh it tasted. The foccacia one was definitely my favorite. We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly quiet inside. I noticed there was a wedding reception taking place in the private room. The service was still pretty good in the main dining area. I decided to order the Chicken Marsala. About 15 minutes later, everyone at my table had their food in front of them, except for me. The waitress stopped by to inform me that there was a computer glitch, so my food will made right now. It took about another 5 minutes for my Chicken Marsala to come out. The Chicken Marsala was pretty good. I loved dipping the chicken in the marsala wine sauce. There was a scoop of white stuff on my plate, and I assumed it was mash potatoes. However, this white stuff did not taste like mash potatoes to me. It had a wierd tapioca taste. I couldn't taste the potatoes at all, and it was not very good. As a result, I only ate the chicken on my plate..lol. Overall, this place seems like a fancy Italian restaurant. We wanted to surprise our parents and pay for their anniversary dinner, I called La Strada a week before their reservations, spoke with a very nice employee, Jose. He immediately understood what we were trying to do and accomodated our request. He also made it a point to be our parents waiter that night and made their anniversary dinner a very memorable one. Took some friends for lunch yesterday to my favorite restaurant, La Strada. Service was wonderful by our waitress/bartender (double-duty that day), very attentive and friendly. Caesar and Beet salads were fresh and flavorful and my friends liked their pasta entrees, but I was totally disappointed when I ordered the Chicken Marsala. It was, frankly, awful. The chicken was dry, tasted old, and tough...could not even cut it with a knife, canned mushrooms, not fresh, and the "Marsala sauce"...no. Polenta was excellent, though. Waitress was very apologetic and offered another dish, which I declined, and to her credit, did not charge me for that entree. I also learned that the Fettuccine with pesto and roasted pine nuts does not have pine nuts! She said they do not have any pine nuts in their restaurant and was surprised to see it in print on the menu! Anyway, hoping this was just one very bad day on the Chef's part, as I would hate to write this place off of my "Go-To" list. read more

The waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming, even though my party of six came thirty minutes before closing. I got the eggplant Parmesan and specially Asked for it to be crispy, I hate soggy eggplant! And the waiter said it was no problem but of course it was the soggiest eggplant Parmesan I've ever had. I want to like this place but the prices were steep for the food that was served to us. We ended up here because we were looking for a place to eat before restaurants closed for the night. The food was undesirable and expensive. The service was good. We didn't have any problems with that. We shared the Instata di Spinichi, delicious. I had the Linguini Cozze o Vongole with Butter pasta and white wine garlic sauce(the calamari is the best in the bay) and the and my partner the Chicken Cordon-Bleu, both So Good. We didn't feel like going out for dinner so decided to order in. Biggest mistake ordering from La Strada. The Fettuccine Alfredo was dripping butter/oil grease. My mouth and lips were greasy, the bowl had a puddle of grease. The Chicken Cordon-Bleu crean sauce was also extremely greasy. The Bruschetta La Strada was like adding a salsa dip on a slice of bread. Lastly, the Greek Salad was wilted. AC needs better restaurants and higher standards. This entry is rating the eggplant parmigiana (EP). I have read the previous entry of Alyssa E and what did I do? I ordered this entree and boy was it a huge mistake! Obviously they are not checking their yelp reviews to improve their food prep. A good EP has a good breading, that you can bite some crispness before they smother the sauce. Strada'.s EP's version seemed to have been boiled and never breaded. What a waste of my $18, so sad! In fairness, they serve the best bread, and their zucchini soup is delish. My original review got 'blended' with a review for another restaurant so this review is for the lunch we just ate an hour ago. Walked in, seated immediately, menu's, water and bread all showed up right away. Waitress explained the specials, said she'd be right back to take our orders. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana, hold the polenta, my dad ordered the rib eye steak medium rare and our guest ordered a chicken dish. The waitress showed no attitude that we were not ordering bar drinks or a bottle of wine, or any soup or salad. We only wanted a main course. Our days of eating multi-course meals are over. It was so wonderful that our waitress understood that old people can't eat as much as young people and just took our order as we ordered it instead of trying to talk us into ordering more food than we would be able to eat. As it was my dad brought half his steak home in a doggie box. My eggplant parmigiana was one of the best and most flavored of any I have ever eaten in my life. I loved the tomato sauce. Our guest loved her chicken dish. My dad however said that while his steak was properly cooked it wasn't very flavorful. Well, two out of three! Flavor was o.k. didnt finnish. Wifes mixed seafood salmon tasted a bit wired but the rest of the orher seafood ( shrimp and scallops) was fine. She didnt finnish either. We had 2 people serving us. I go here once or twice a month. It is my favorite place to get calamari. I love the bread, the service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very relaxing. If I like a place I will go there again and again and I really like this place and have been coming here religiously since 2012. Everyone has a bad day and some people are just butt heads. If you're staying in American Canyon (or any of the towns just south of Napa), La Strada is an excellent choice if you're looking for good Italian food. I loved the italian/european decor, but my wife thought it was a little fake. Maybe so, but the effort is there. As others have mentioned, they bring delicious foccacia bread to your table. A ppetizers were delicious: brucceta was crispy and very garlic-y, margharita pizza was a tasty thin crust, caesar salad delicious. We tried one of the specials which was a chicken lasagna, made with a 'pink' sauce. Whatever it was, it was delicious. Service was great. Attentive waiter and bus service: water was refilled often and food came out at a very nice pace. Will definitely visit again when we return to the area. read more

Went here post wedding, pre honeymoon night. My new brother and sister in laws had reserved the VIP room. I can't say I was completely impressed by the visual here - you're in a room with one open side that faces the bar. However...the food and service were amazing!! I live in Sonoma and sadly good Italian food is hard to come by here. This is going to be my new guilty pleasure restaurant. I got chicken stuffed with spinach and Gorgonzola cheese covered in a mushroom marsala sauce. Drool right? I also got to try my fiancé's ribeye steak, my mom's salmon picatta, and my sister-in-law's shrimp linguine. All fantastic. It was hard to decide what was best. The food was good. Not the best ever, but certainly tasty. Had the veal cannelloni and a scallop salad -- split both with the sidekick. We share a split of Champagne, and a glass of port to accompany dessert. Can't remember the name of the chocolate ball of goodness but it was great. Ambiance inside is lovely. Our total bill was under $75 and I thought that was pretty good. Service wasn't spot-on but wasn't totally lousy either. Waiter rarely came, took awhile to get the check and get out. They have a terrible location. Blocks from the landfill, stench as you walk from car to restaurant and vice-versa is stomach turning. My husband and I had lunch today at La Strada. This was our first visit. The staff was lovely, they made us feel as if we were old friends, and the food is delicious from the olive oil dip to the last course, it was YUMMY! The salad was crisp and cold, all very fresh, the meal was served hot, and the staff was right there with cracked pepper and fresh parmesan cheese. Everything was exactly as it should be. The restaurant is adorable, and cozy, we can't wait to go back for dinner. The price was perfect for what we had, and the wine list is fabulous. We loved it. A tip, for the locals,and those who know Highway 29, the road behind the Napa/Vallejo flea market has ingress to the parking lot, so you may avoid the U-turn or being stuck on 29. read more

Such outstanding Italian food & excellent customer service. I got the Rib Eye Steak with a side of pasta angel hair with meat sauce. My mom got the Salmon special with sautéed mushrooms and a chicken ceasar salad to share. All were delicious, we great flavor. Our server Rick was amazing and made the experience for my birthday wonderful. He had the whole restaurant sing for me. Their bread was fresh and garlic oil is great. Such a great very real Italian restaurant! I really enjoyed my first visit to La Strada. It's tacky... It's in a 'so-so' area of lower Napa. Not bad mind you but a Wal-Mart tacky neighborhood. Next to a weekend Swap Meet and the actual restaurant itself looks so 1960's (look at the sign alone). I totally go for the Hwy 29 Napa upscale restaurants. The fabulous MUSTARD'S and RUTHERFORD GRILL. I live here on weekends. One day after hearing my mom say for the last five (5) years she would love to stop at LA STRADA I gave into the near abandoned look of a once Denny's restaurant and proceeded inside of this tacky facade of a fake Italy attempt. Was this the set of a bad TV show? The welcome was stunning! Smiles and a sense of a very friendly and non-attitude restaurant. Our waiter (not Italian but from Portgual) was nothing but smiles and a very gracious personality. He was just exceptional.. FOOD WAS GREAT!!! I've been to Italy and this was a close second. No games here. Pasta was so fresh and ultra hot and not frozen. Sauces danced! Taste was watering. Quality was 5-star. Breads to soups to salads. Wow... I'd go back and back and back and I do know better. Finally, when leaving, I asked if they were ZAGAT rated or OPEN TABLE and they just looked dazed...
