I will start with a positive. Our waiter and the person who brought us bread and waters were fantastic and we tipped them separate. Our bottle of $100 wine was superb. Now onto the negative part. If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered the "fresh" pasta and lobster tails. It came to the table it looked like soup! Tasted like rotten old chef boy R Dee raviolis. I had one small bite and literally almost got sick. The taste was one of the worst ones I've ever had. My husband got the Veal parmigiana. He said it tasted like chicken fried steak. The manager came to the table we told him how bad the food was. He apologized and said he always warns people not to get the veal! Who says that ! He was nice enough to not charge us for anything but the wine. I felt so bad for the waiter he was so sweet and felt so bad. Please if your coming to eat here have a back up plan for needing something to eat when you leave. My wife, my daughter and 1 had dinner here the other night for my wife's birthday. She loves the mushroom ravioli and the delicious cocktails. We don't dine out often, our daughter who is 7 yrs old has severe food allergies and this gives her extreme anxiety and she gets embarrassed. She freezes up, her face turns red and if it's really bad she'll start shaking. We're slowly introducing her to the dining atmosphere to show her it can be fun. We had Lia as our server and she sensed the uncomfortability of our daughter and worked some magic. She was telling her jokes, stories of her dog (even showed her a pic) and my little girl was so happy. It's all she's been talking about. As a loving parent, there's no greater joy for me seeing my daughter happy. My wife and I were both surprised that our daughter even enjoyed a delicious meal as it can be tough with all of her allergies. I wish every restaurant trained their employees this way. Food: Amazing Service: Not so amazing The food was amazing, it really melted right in your mouth. Heck, even the bread was good. We ordered the octopus with hummus and I have never had octopus that delicious before. I am usually super understanding when customer service is subpar, I've worked in cs basically all my life, it's usually because work is busy and there's so many things to do at one time. But a server should make an effort to talk to their guest and explain why things are taking so long, and not greet the table 15 minutes after we have sat down (we couldn't even get some water at least). I understand that there were other tables but no attention was paid to ours. Overall, the restaurant was beautiful and easy to find and their food was amazing but my only criticism would be my servers lack of attention, we were celebrating our anniversary and hoped our experience was as great as others. read more

I was really impressed with our dinner at La Strada. The food was delicious, but what impressed me even more was the service. My friend literally took a single drink from her water, and there was someone there to refill it. Our server was very attentive. We also watched as she greeted each guest as they passed through. The interaction between the employees showed that they enjoy their job as well as their co-workers. I watched one employee search through the cabinet with the wine glasses, holding them up to the light to make sure that they met the standard. She carried multiple glasses back that did not meet the standard. There were other things that my friend and I observed during our visit, but we were just very impressed! read more

We ordered the fried artichokes as an appetizer and there were so many hard , inedible pieces. As our entrees we ordered chicken parmigiana and lasagna. The lasagna was ok, but nothing I would order again. While the chicken parmigiana was ok, it came with a polenta that was SO salty, it was like eating a salt lick. Took one bite and spit it out. Had high hopes for this restaurant. We bought show tickets for the illusionist and made reservations for dinner at 7pm. Got there around 6:45. We were seated within 5 minutes. Very nice ambiance. Great we thought. Our hostess was very friendly and knowledge of their menu. Order dinner around 7pm. To our surprise and disappointment it took near and hour to get our dinner. No fault of our hostess. This is unacceptable for a high end restaurant who clams to be a top ten in the country. Not a single apology for the hour wait on dinner even though I seen the manager knew we had been sitting for sometime. Not to mention we got our food with a half hour until the show. The food was ok, or maybe it was the fact we had to rush to eat our dinner in 15-20 minutes. So we could make the show. Part of the perk of buying the show tickets was a 50% discount on dinner. Correct me if my math is wrong but a $75 bill should equate to $37.50. We paid $55 unfortunately we had 5 minutes to make the show. Italian @ Eldorado Casino. I've been here a few times. I've always found their food to be good traditional Italian food. I have to admit for the last few years I've eaten La Strada's menu at the bar CinCin. Nothing against La Strada but the CinCin bartenders were great. I've been dying to do the chef tasting menu with a variety of different people. Donna S was the 1st person I could get on the schedule. The company was great but the meal with the wine paring was a bit lackluster. I can't really wax on about the wine was they appeared without much explanation -- this red goes with this, that white goes that. Breadbasket is alway amazing Salad course was just a salad Pasta course was a trio - famous mushroom ravioli-good, scallop/risotto-nice, crab crepe-no for me- the real issue was it was not hot Monkfish, prawns, steak over mash - ok but served cold Semi fredo - Excellent I'm not sure I'd bother with the tasting menu again but I'm sure I'll be back to have the classic dishes. read more

The restaurant ambiance was great and I liked the decorations. However when you go here you should make a reservation. We didn't and had to sit in the bar area which you also got food but it was first come seating in the bar. The food was really good I got the spaghetti carbonara and it was delicious and the bread was perfectly buttery. Maybe we came on a bad day or maybe we didnt order the right things on the menu, but our party of four were underwhelmed. This place is touted as recommended on the food network as an excellent choice for pasta. But something was off in every dish. If the pasta was good, then the sauce wasn't. Which is what it was in my case. The gnocchi was wellmade but the sauce had a sourness to it that wasnt just acidity from the tomato. Gnocchi does better with a cream or a rich sauce. To pair it with a light acidic sauce but nothing additional on the plate to cut the acidity with was disappointing. Also for the price we didnt get any bread. Our server was attentive in beginning but then disappeared for a very long time, to the extent that we had to ask another server for the bill, and were told in a curt, off-hand fashion "I cant help you since I'm noy your server", when all he had to say was "of course, I'll get your server". for close to a 100 bucks for just two pasta dishes and a shared salad, this wasn't where it ought to have been. read more

I wanted some Alfredo sauce with the tomato sauce that came with my cannelloni but was told I couldn't as they are pre-prepared (that should have been my first clue as to what to expect). Wow I seen a sign said best Italian in country I got the veal parmigiana it came with mashed potatoes that looks like apple sauce? No noodles and the veal tastes like cardboard. I'd probably leave 3 stars but our amazing server Keith saved the review. First time eating here. I ordered the famous mushroom ravioli and asked to have salmon added to it. Waiter comes back with a separate entree of salmon (which I'm forced to eat before my pasta is brought out, per the chef's recommendation). So as not to be rude, I play along. I'll be honest the salmon was very tender and soft. With the dinner lighting I didn't notice anything about it but I have had signs of food poisoning since 6 hours following that meal. Called in sick to work today. Hopefully it was just one off meal because I didn't get the vibe that this is a poor restaurant. Maybe I'll try again in the future. read more

We just had the best experience at La Strada in spite of an initial mix-up. We came in for dinner as part of a night out in Reno. We ordered the fried artichokes which were amazing. After that, I got the arrabiata without sausage while my partner got the Rigatoni. Unfortunately my pasta came out with sausage in spite of my request for vegetarian recommendations. The moment we mentioned this to our waiter Kimberly, the entire staff (including Gary the manager) took great effort to remedy the issue. We were given a free round of drinks, complimentary soup, and a replacement entree all free of cost. The service was wonderful before the accidental mix-up, but became phenomenal after. This place may be in a casino, but they're worlds better than anything else around. read more

I don't want a whole side I just wanted some added to my pasta, like not even a handful. Very nice restaurant in the ElDorado. Dinning choices were limited due to COVID. The portions were generous and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Only thing I did not like was the $25 credit card to hold the reservation. That didn't make much sense to me and this was the only reservation we made that had this requirement. Those walking up for dining had a one-hour wait, so obviously if I had to cancel someone would of been there to take our place. read more

The decor and music was great and very Italian. Our server was Serbian and very sociable. We enjoyed our chat with him. We came in early and it was not busy until about 6:30. We enjoyed the bread basket and the employees were very attentive. We thought the food was a little pricey for the amount of food you receive. My lasagna was very tasty but it was small. I order a salad on the side and was surprised it was just some spring mix with a few tiny additions. I can get that at home and not pay $10 to $15 for it. They need more salad choices. I did not order the Caesars because when I did at the other restaurant there, it was a lettuce wedge, very basic. This seemed to be the same. My husband got soup and he stated that was good. It was creamy with spinach. My husband got Chicken Alfredo. It was good but the chicken was two very flat strips laying on top. So it has to be cut up first when it is laying on the noodles. I don't think flat chicken was the way to go. It looked like it was fake or out of a can. My main issue is the cost for such a small meal that was nothing special. read more

I went here in 2014 and was very impressed by the food and service. I decided to come back the next time I was in Reno. I ordered the cheese and meat plate. It was tasty but small for the price ($14). For the main I ordered the seafood linguine in a white wine sauce. The pasta was cooked well and the serving was large. It was good but not exactly what I was expecting. For dessert we ordered a panna cotta (excellent) and a tiramisu (good). Overall, a great meal. I would come back. read more

So we had high expectations for La Strada, typically really good Italian food can be found in Nevada..(think Vegas) however, we were so disappointed with our dining experience. I'll give it 2 stars because the man who brought us bread and water kept our glasses full. Other than that, i was fully disappointed. When i made the reservation it asked if we were celebrating anything so i marked yes, we just got married and are on our honeymoon. But why did they want to know? No one mentioned anything which is fine. Our server couldn't even look at us. As she talked, she kept looking away. Not that big of a deal. We ordered the fried artichokes. They came and tasted like fish. Our server said "oh that's weird, we change the oil daily". We ordered our meal based on the servers suggestion of fresh pasta and sauces so we got the mushroom ravioli and the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. The ravioli was ok, nothing fancy at all but it was so rich i had to take the filling out. The Alfredo sauce was so thin it wouldn't even stick to the noodles. It almost seemed like the sauce broke and they didn't know how to fix it. Decent flavor. The chicken came on top of the pasta in a bowl but the chicken wasn't even cut. Not sure how you can cut chicken easily in a bowl of pasta with sauce that is so runny everything drowns. I guess my biggest disappointment is that reservations are required, there's a dress code, and they use white table cloths but none of that matched with any of the service or food except the guy refilling the water cups. He was awesome. Sadly I'm about almost $100 and will probably be heading to the express pizza place in the hotel so i can actually eat something that will fill me up. I realize these get read with a standard "i hope you give us another chance soon" but what should really be happening is when someone expresses issues, a manager should come touch the table and make it right. It's always lovely to get a pleasant surprise. We had "casino Italian restaurant" expectations but instead we got a fantastic meal with preposterously good prices for the quality of the ingredients. Fresh pasta, and great wine selection (not "just Ferrari-Carano" as one review indicates) with reasonable prices. Pasta, fish, steak and risotto were flawlessly cooked. This place is amazing! Starting with the hostess she was super nice & funny. She dropped us off at our table as we were laughing with her the whole time. Soon after we were given water & delicious, and I mean delicious garlic bread. Colton was our server, and he was really great! He knew the menu, gave wonderful recommendations. It was a friday night and the restaurant was busy and we never felt that we were left unattended. He checked on us throughout our "appetizer dinner" because we couldn't decide on just 1, because EVERYTHING sounded awesome. 1. The stuffed cheese bread & prosciutto, & fig jam was AMAZING! Next prosciutto wrapped shrimp and finally fried artichoke hearts with a garlic aioli! Everything was super yummy and a nice glass of champagne was perfect with our appetizer experience at La Strada! As we were eating our appetizers we knew we would not be able to have dinner so Colton took care of us and booked us a reservation for the next night, we wanted the same table and he made it happen! Wonderful first meal here tonight! The place is just beautiful as you walk in with yards and yards of beautiful white Christmas lights hanging above. The bar is just beautiful too, as you walk back to the dining area. After being seated we were immediately asked if we would like bottled or regular water. A extremely full bread basket arrived within two minutes afterwards full of hot cheese bread twists and cheeses garlic bread (neither vegan). Our server Chris greeted us about three minutes after that and took our cocktail orders (order a martini). Chris gave us the menu and gave a wonderful overview of the evening's options. He also looked into which dishes were vegan for me. He reported that the house made spaghetti and linguini are both vegan. He recommended the spaghetti marinara. I have to say, at this point I was a little disappointed there were not more vegan options available. We ordered that, minestrone, and my husband ordered the fettuccini Alfredo. The minestrone arrived a few minutes later and was very flavorful. After that, very quickly we were served the pasta and the portions are huge! You will definitely have leftovers to take home. While I was disappointed there were not more vegan options, the marinara sauce was DIVINE. Seriously impressive. For dessert I was so pleased to learn from Chris that the sorbetto and berries is vegan. We ordered the lemon sorbetto and it arrived with a tiny biscotti (which was not vegan) and blueberries, strawberries, raspberries. Smooth as silk, we've never had sorbet so dreamy. Dissatisfied and disappointed. I Had the salmon and it was undercooked. The artichokes and potatoes were tasteless and the olives were horrible with the pits still in them. We were told we could only be seated by the kitchen despite the many many empty tables in the quieter part of the restaurant. Maybe it was my trendy ripped jeans and my hubby's hat with the American flag in it. . It was far too expensive for what we got. Went there for my birthday and had a terrible meal. The only real redeemable part of it was the cheesy bread which isn't what I was expecting from a Italian restaurant with this price point. I requested a gin and tonic but was given a vodka tonic that they tried to pass off as gin. Calamari had good dipping sauces but the Calamari itself was soggy and underseasoned. The Risotto wasn't fully cooked. Main issue was my linguine and clams. Both were fully cooked but lacked any sort of taste other than butter water. No capers or any sort of real seasoning to it. Left a very nasty aftertaste. The fries I had at In-N-Out afterwards to get rid of the taste was better than the $120 meal I had there. read more
