I like La Strada. It's not the best pizza I've ever eaten but it's not the worst either. The guys are always really friendly and fast. The pizza is decent with an amazing chewy crust. We usually get the multigrain with mushrooms and olives and it's awesome for a "healthy" pizza. We also love their antipasto salad. I don't know what they put in that orangey red dressing but I close my eyes and eat it anyway. MMMHMMM!!! New to the area so I always look on Yelp for places to go. La Strada had alright reviews, it was a BYOB place so we thought we would give it a try. First off let me start by saying that I feel like I won the lottery with the BYOB places in NJ. Normally our bar bill is as high as our food bill in establishments that serve liquor. It was a beautiful evening out so we thought we would take advantage of the outside dining. It was packed and there was a wait. we decided to try to get a table inside since we did not want to wait. We walked around to the front of the place and entered through a take out pizza joint. When we walked through we found a very lovely modern dining room. The oddest thing was that in the whole indoor restaurant there was only us and one other table. The food made up for the awkwardness of being alone in the restaurant. I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca alla Romano and it was the best that I have ever had. It was a very large portion, presented beautifully (see photo) , and served with delicious fresh veggies . I had enough to take home for a second meal. My husband had the Linguine Alle Vongole, which he always orders at Italian restaurants . It was full of baby clams in the shell and very tasty garlic sauce. We also each had a nice tossed salad, and tasty focaccia and Italian bread with our dinners. The bill came and we could not believe the total $38. Usually that is our wine bill alone at most Italian restaurants. We will definitely return and bring many guest to this little gem of a restaurant. read more

Their service is unbeatable. They are fast and give generous portions. They are really flexible with their menu, basically you can order anything you want. Their pizzas are fresh and the servers are really nice. Their salads were not impressive, but overall la strada is my go to italian in Millburn. read more

Liked the julienned zucchini and the criss-cross carrot slices in the green salad.... pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. Owner is horrible and food is really unremarkable and very greasy. Everything has an unnecessary layer of oil on it. Paid for a dinner with gift cards we purchased through a high school fundraiser. Gave him $100 for a $72 meal and he gave us $3 back. When we asked him about it and asked if he could show us the gift cards he took from us in case one was stuck together, he screamed at us for questioning him and refused to show us the gift cards. We were visiting family this past sunday and we decided to go to LaStrada and have some food catered. We used to go there all the time, apparently it was a big mistake. We ordered a small anitipasti ($55) well this thing was horrible, I was so un happy. There were no roasted peppers, the salami and provolone was rolled so small like a cigarette and cut in half - believe it cut in half. THe artichokes were sliced paper thin, and there were grape tomatoes cut in half - where did they get that from. I have never seen an antipasti like this before. Ok on to the next thing Chicken Murphy. I don't even know what the hell it was the chicken was totally paper thin and looked white as white could be, the potatoes were almost boiled and the sausage was horribly thin must be the sausage they use on their pizzas. The we ordered a salad also and they threw in the focaccia bread - that was awesome. After spending $140 on this I am not happy with this place at all. Wish I could give them a -* but you can't so I had to give them a single star. Totally disappointed in this place will never go there again for anything. read more

The salads are usually fresh and tasty but I've found the past can be overcooked and mushy, even if you ask for aldente. However they generally do a nice job and the food is fresh. I've never been a pizza fan, but I CRAVE their arugula pizza and love the calamari pizza and the broccoli rabe too. The salad with citrus dressing is mouth-watering. Have tried to duplicate the taste at home with no luck. During the summer I love to sit on their peaceful patio with the fountain tinkling and eat their delicious specials. Love the pasta with clam sauce and delicious fish dishes. Have been eating here for many years. There are fancier and more expensive places in town where you won't get a better meal or better service. These guys are great. read more

Since Gian Marco in the same street had me waiting for over 30 minutes and then figured out they ran out of gluten free pizza dough I went to La strata where they had renewed their gluten free dough which is even better than before. They are for the gluten free pizzas a bit more expensive but their pizzas are larger and with more toppings than at Gian Marco. They've got themselves a new customer! read more

I stopped by La Strada recently and ordered a large Salad a La Strada and a meatball sandwich. Both were oh so delicious. The dressing for the salad was like a thin french dressing and had a nice bright acidity, which along with the huge slices of parmesan cheese on top made for a great eat. The sandwich roll had the perfect crusty flakiness, although the sauce was just a little thin and there could have been another meatball or two. Overall, the food was great and their pizza is delicious too. A nice selection of non-alcoholic bottled beverages rounds out this pizza shop. Prices are fair but not cheap. read more

I have been coming to La Strada's since 1979 (I was a little girl them, so I'm not ancient yet) and love their pizza (mushroom slices are awesome)! I have since moved to CA, but when I am back in Millburn, I will always stop in for a nostalgic slice. We recently ate there and had the pasta, and and it was okay and the service was good, but I'm giving it 5 stars because their slices are great and it takes me back to my childhood. Not dog friendly! Ate in outside patio and was told we had to sit on side near service station and door to kitchen because of our dog. Water never came nor did waiter to take order. I work for Dr. Browns office in Summit and we order from La Strada frequently. This week we ordered a pizza and when it was delivered it was cold due to short staffing. When we called to tell them about it the guy, Massimo couldn't have been nicer and more understandable. He offered to deliver a fresh hot pizza the next day and he did just that. Awesome customer service!! We will definitely continue to order from there. Great food and outstanding staff! They have the best pizza around here by far! We absolutely love them! read more
