    Tacos: $2.50 each
    Paul V.

The rotation of food trucks that stop by in front of my office during the week are generally quite poor, so you can imagine my anticipation when new truck on the block LA Tacos & Co pulled up on a weekday afternoon. Unfortunately, while they get it right with their carne asada to be sure, overall these were tacos that were just A-OK. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? I really wanted to just love LA Tacos & Co. You had really genuinely friendly people working the truck and even though their Yelp page is pretty new they have a great presence with a whole swath of photos. After taking my order I had my tacos ready to rock and roll in under five minutes. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? The tacos at LA Tacos & Co are $2.50 each, which is a bit pricey compared to the street tacos you can find elsewhere, but it's worth pointing out that these tacos were pretty well stacked with meats relatively speaking, which made the price point worth it. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? So it's here where things didn't really impress given how competitive the LA taco scene is. For starters, the tortillas at LA Tacos & Co were a bit weak. They were a bit firm as opposed to fluffy and fresh, and they really didn't add to the tacos like top notch five star tortillas do. From there, the meats were a mixed bag. While the carne asada was genuinely excellent, with a peppery flavor that really stood out, the pastor and chicken were just okay, with the chicken falling behind a bit. The red and green salsas aided in bringing everything together, but these wouldn't crack my top 10 or possibly top 20 tacos in the area. Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? LA Tacos & Co is new and they'll refine their craft, but for the time being I'm not yet singing their praises given how many great options there are in town. No Star.

    California Burrito

Enjoyed their California Burrito! Stuffed with Carne Asada, fries, beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and sour cream. Just enough to fill me up and the balance of ingredients seemed just right.

First of all, I have been wanting to try out this truck for while and today, I did. My reaction? It was better that I expected, Every time I explore new options, most the time it is a disappointment. This time around, "IT HIT THE SPOT RIGHT ON!" I was nervous, because I invited a group of co-workers and just hoped this trip was not going to be a waste or a flavorless lunch. You know what, it wasn't...everyone enjoyed the flavorful array of spices and ingredients of their meals. The CARNE ASADA FRIES seems to be one of the most popular dishes on the menu but I cared more for the CALIFORNIA CLASSIC BURRITO, which is the same as a plate of asada fries, just with a flour tortilla. My order was placed, I sat aside and grasped my burrito with both my hands and took a massive bite into that beast...BOOM! Delicious! You get to taste the delicious marinated angus beef with a nice hint of pepper and garlic, with the crunch of the french fries, cream, cilantro, onions, sour cream and texture of the rice and beans...sooo good! To my surprise that lettuce addition gives the burrito interior a freshness and crisp to every bite. You know what, that flavorful journey does not stop there...when you pour some of the fresh green or red salsa, that just adds many more layers of deliciousness to every bite. The red salsa is definitely mild packed with enough flavor and heat to enjoy your meal. I could even taste the similarity of a King Taco salsa profile in there. As for the green salsa, the kick of some habanero heat in there gives it a nice touch. "A bite! A pour! A bite! A pour!"...that is the way I enjoyed every bite of my burrito. I do recommend it! L.A. Taco & Co. is new to the scene, about 4 months, but more exposure and a bigger following will definitely send them to a higher notice here in Flavor Town Tacolandia, Southern California.

This is one of the few food trucks I've enjoyed at our apartment! The quesadilla was amazing, and even great for lunch the next day.

I usually have enough leftovers to take home and have for lunch the next day. Parking is a bit sparse, but there's residential spots available next door and within walking distance (as well as my favorite romance bookstore, Heartbound Bookshop). All their dishes are made to order, so please have some grace and be patient with their kitchen. As I always say, you can't rush perfection!

I visited today because we were in the area and were craving menudo. The restaurant was busy, but…read morewe were seated right away, which was a plus. The agua de melón was delicious, and the side of beans was excellent. We also ordered a plain quesadilla, and it was surprisingly really good. The menudo itself was just okay--not bad, but nothing special. The reason I'm giving 2 stars isn't because the staff were rude, but they definitely weren't friendly or welcoming. My biggest concern, however, was what I witnessed with the condiments. When you order menudo, they bring a plate with limes, onions, and chili. I watched two employees clear tables, throw away some items, but keep the unused onions and uncut lime wedges from customers' plates and take them back into the kitchen to be served again. Even if I didn't use all of the onions or limes, that doesn't mean I didn't touch them. Reusing food that has already been on a customer's table is unsanitary and unacceptable. After seeing that, it made me wonder whether other items, like leftover chips, might also be reused. Whether or not that's the case, what I witnessed was enough to make me lose confidence in their food handling practices. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

Not just…read morebecause the food was delicious, as usual, but because we had the incredible fortune of having Scotty as our server. Scotty took what was already a great date night and made it truly memorable. Not only was he the best server we've had since we started dining at Puesto, but I'd go so far as to say he was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. Scotty had a calm, understated demeanor that was part of his charm. He was genuine, attentive, extraordinarily kind, and somehow managed to keep my Diet Coke with lime full the entire evening. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and was always there at just the right moment. Best of all, he laughed at my dad jokes. While the food was outstanding, Scotty made the experience even better. His service elevated an already great meal into an exceptional evening. We will absolutely be requesting Scotty's section every time we visit Puesto Anaheim.
