Garlic Octopus (Pulpo Al Mojo De Ajo)
    Tina F B.

The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because the music was way too loud and the tables really could use a good steam cleaning!! The food was delicious; we had the Octopus in Butter and Garlic, I can't wait to go back. I want to try everything and have that again. The service was good and pretty quick. Our waitress was pleasant. Can't wait to take out of town guests.

I have been going to Sinaloa's for years and I'm never disappointed by the food. Everything I've tried there has always been good, but my favorite is the shrimp cocktail. It's really delicious and they do not skimp on the shrimp. l also think they have the best micheladas. The restaurant can get busy and at times and the service can be slow. But the servers are all so friendly and really try their best. If you're ever in Mesa and craving mariscos you should definitely check out Sinaloa's.

I don't get out to the eat valley too often so it was nice to try something completely different. Though not a fan of seafood they offer many other items to please the picky eaters like me. You get a real taste of the culture here. Your greeted with an "HOLA" as soon as you walk through the door. Spanish style music blaring off and on from the juke box. The staff is welcoming and attentive as the two minute rule applies here. I had my drink order and chips/salsa as soon as I sat down. The chips were served warm with a mild salsa and a bowl of half cut limes. I was impressed with that. They don't offer specials but have a nicely priced menu. My table had drinks, carna asada tacos, flour tortillas, beans, rice and guacamole. Everything is great. Our food was cooked and served fast. Our food overall taste really good.

This has been one of my favorite marisco spots for years. It's been a while since I've been here and I'm so happy I came back. They definitely renovated this place and it looks really nice! They painted the walls to remove the mural and the bathrooms actually look really clean and nice now. The food here is amazing! I haven't had anything I don't like here. Whether it be seafood or carne asada, I know I'll be satisfied. Today I ate a ceviche tostado and camarones aguachile and they both were amazing. The aguachile is actually spicy- some places I go to don't make it spicy enough. I also had a michelada and they make theirs so good! I'd really recommend coming here if you're in the area.

So far the best seafood restaurant I've been to around the area. My whole family loves it. I always get their ceviche tostadas. My favorite is shrimp & octopus they are so filling. 2 tostadas and I'm super stuffed. Oh and their Micheladas are also good.

    Red snapper!! Rice was good

Purchased July 2025…read more Confession: I would follow Jim and his Northstar Halibut truck pretty much anywhere. (And yes, that includes this morning when I drove all the way across town like a woman on a seafood mission.) This is the kind of business I love to support...small, family-owned, and absolutely passionate about what they do. Jim and his crew catch the fish themselves in Alaska, get it packaged and flown to Arizona, and then somehow manage to bring coastal-level freshness right into the middle of the desert. You'll usually spot him at Uptown Farmer's Market (bring a cooler...you'll want to stock up), but he also shows up roadside now and then like a seafood fairy godfather. And he's delivered larger orders right to my door in the past. Who does that anymore?! Jim does. Favorites? Halibut, cod, red snapper, and the smoked salmon which is basically a religious experience. Oh...and halibut cheeks. Trust me. A total delicacy. Never to be forgotten! The fish is always firm, clean, fresh, and so flavorful it barely needs seasoning. Jim's even been known to share a killer recipe if you're not sure what to make. Tonight? Halibut's on the menu and I might be eating early...because I've been craving it for weeks.

Spice level was medium and went with the 88 Special seasoning (a combination of cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper) - AMAZING flavor!! Perhaps my favorite aspect was that their seasonings were not overly salty - I feel that most other seafood boil restaurants just include way too much salt in their seasonings... but at Pier 88, you can really indulge without feeling like you're going to end up with high blood pressure! Extras included corn, sausage, and potatoes... and those were all delicious as well! I couldn't have been happier with this meal... so I will definitely return again soon! This place looked like it did a good seafood boil and was located near where our hotel was. Upon entering we were greeted and sat right away. He ordered a shrimp basket while I ordered my usual snow crab. Heads up, all the supplies will be brought in the bottom of the discard bucket like gloves, lemons, and crab crackers. I wasn't aware of this, and placed all the discarded items on top of it while eating bareheaded as I didn't see supplies, and no one was around to ask. Usually places will bring on the side, and I wish I was told that in advance when it was brought to the table. It made for quite the mess, but if we return I'll know for next time. Once our server returned to check in after 10+ minutes that's when we were advised, and I adjusted though I had put my boil bag in there so most had been soiled. As for the food, he liked his shrimp while I thought the crab was okay in flavor/spice. It didn't really standout out like other places I've been to recently, but overall I would return if I was in the area.

Greatly appreciate the staff member who took drink orders while we waited as a martini eases the time waiting! Our server Alex was phenomenal and provided great insights with recommendations. We greatly appreciate it as it was both of ours first time visiting this establishment to try the Arizona Restaurant Week specials. For my 1800the review on Yelp, I couldn't think of a more fitting review - Arizona Restaurant Week helping me venture out to try somewhere new (the Yelp way)! Lastly regarding the experience, it was quite loud due to it being busy, so appreciate Alex repeating somethings over. Thanks for the great service to make this a great night out! What We Ordered: ~ Onward and Upward (Non-alcoholic): my boyfriend enjoyed the flavor, but wild to think a NA drink is $15! He said likely not a do over. ~ Dirty Vodka Martini + Blue Cheese-stuffed Olives: the first outside was not as good as the one at the table. I'd definitely buy another when returning, especially dining in as the olives were delicious. ~ Fresh Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls: very delicious, and we enjoyed! Definitely a splurge as the price point was $12 for 5 rolls. I did find myself wishing they were served with a nice French butter or even a honey cinnamon butter, which would elevate these and help me justify the price point. ~ Arizona Restaurant Week which included a starter, entree, and the selected dessert (boyfriend: Oysters + Sushi selection and me: Caesar Salad + Texas Redfish): Both my boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed and thought it was well worth the $55 per quest price point. Standouts for him were the oysters and sushi, stating they were very fresh. My standout was the delicious redfish, and the sushi as I tried some of his. Everything was fresh and flavorful! We left talking about when we can return for their actual menu versus restaurant week. Love finding great local places via Arizona Restaurant Week. If in the area, stop by this location!

They have a pretty basic menu, with some appetizers, and then all seafood options are available to be ordered as salads, tacos, sandwiches, and platters. My friend ordered the Garlic Butter Red Snapper sandwich and I got two tacos, one shrimp & one fried fish. We also got a side of fries (paid extra as there are no sides that come with the sandwich). My friend said her sandwich was pretty good, a bit messy to eat but had good flavors. That was the least expensive sandwich option, which was already a bit of a steep cost, the other were even more. If it came with fries or another side, it might have been a better deal. The additional side of fries we ordered were good though, nothing special, but nice and crispy as you'd want. While there was nothing inherently wrong with the tacos, it is interesting that all options have the same toppings (cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and white sauce); the protein is the only thing that's different. The fish was fried well and crispy, shrimp was pretty basic. There was a lot of cabbage and not enough sauce so I had asked for additional dressing on the side so I could basically eat the taco like a mini salad. The restaurant is nice and service was good while we were there. We had gotten soda and our server checked in on us multiple times to ensure we had everything we wanted. I'd order something else next time, like maybe the larger plate (with protein, rice, and salad) or just a traditional fish & chips basket that comes with coleslaw. Hoping for a better food experience in the future!
