The decor and overall concept at La Vecindad are amazing! That was actually what caught our attention and made us want to visit. The atmosphere is beautiful and very unique. Unfortunately, the food and service did not live up to the expectations. The staff was very friendly and kind, but there were quite a few mistakes. I was brought the wrong dish and, luckily, I hadn't eaten it before it was exchanged for the correct one. And the funniest part... they brought the piquete before the coffee! I really wanted to love this place because the concept and decor are so beautiful. Hopefully, they can improve the service and food because the restaurant has a lot of potential.

This is our Mexican spot when we are around the Strip. So, I blew it this time. I took a lovely photo of our drinks with the chips and salsa. I had the carnitas taco plate and he had the chicken quesadilla. OMG! Nom nom nom!!! It smelled so good. My next thought was to take a video of the fajita cart as it passed by, but my hands were full of taco. I have no food picture or video just the drinks. THAT is a testament to how good it is. You forget the phone. The service is good and fast. Everyone checks on you. Good tejano music. Nice volume to allow for conversation between bites. Next time pictures. I promise!

This restaurant was recommended to me several weeks back and I finally had the opportunity to visit. I ordered the Mole Poblano with Dark brown, sweet mole sauce served over chicken with rice, beans, and tortillas. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The rice was delicious as were the beans. However, the mole sauce lacked serious flavor and was neither sweet nor spicy. Mole Pablano is one of my favorite dishes and one I often order and unfortunately this dish fell well short of my expectation. This restaurant is very popular and is loved by many. Its authentic design resembles restaurants often seen in Mexico. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and very attentive throughout my meal, which was appreciated.

I really wanted to like this place because it's such a nostalgic concept, especially if you grew up watching El Chavo del Ocho. Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. It was honestly some of the blandest Mexican food I've had, and nothing we ordered really stood out. It also felt a bit like a tourist trap. A simple frozen margarita was around $20, and the menu seemed pretty limited. I've since heard they're mostly known for their giant tortas, so maybe that's what they're best at. The service was fine, but the overall ambiance felt a little off. There was also a noticeable smell throughout the restaurant that made it seem like there might be plumbing issues. Sadly, the nostalgia wasn't enough to make up for the food, and I don't see myself coming back.

I have been here twice and each time the staff and service has been outstanding. The food is delicious with huge portions. The atmosphere and ambiance are nostalgic for anyone who grew up watching Chespirito and El Chavo del Ocho. You will love this place!

I came here for the first time yesterday. So damn good. I had the 2 taco plate with a grilled jalapeño. 1 chorizo taco and 1 carnita. Both were so tasty. My sone got fajitas and his girlfriend got a torta. Everything was great along with the service. Born & raised Vegas. Can't believe I never came here. Love it

Sunday around 4pm the place wasn't as busy as it normally is. It was our first time and we had great service. I wanted a cantarito and it turned out to be extra large. I had a mini torta with French fries and it was outstanding. We ordered the breaded shrimp for my toddler and my husband got flautas, everything was so good we almost finished everything on the plate. Authentic cooking in a cool theme chavo del ocho place. I want to go back for a torta de jamón and to try whatever comes out in a cart and makes an ambulance sound, so fun!

Cute place with El Chavo theme all over the restaurant. Service was good. Got the asada nachos as an appetizer and they were the best thing i ate there. I got the carnitas plate. La Vecindad, is a family restaurant that is casual and the theme is after the very popular Mexican situation, comedy show "El Chavo del Ocho." the staff dresses as many of the characters from the show. In addition to the white stuff balloon artist creates, complementary, balloon art and deliver them to diners. We were celebrating a birthday and were pleasantly surprised with the celebration the staff created. Everyone was happy with their mail. I enjoyed Carne En Su Hugo, my husband had Chilaquiles with eggs, friends the fajitas which looked really good. We ordered various dishes and everyone was content with their order. We all let very full and happy. They also have house-made frescas and Mexican Coke. In the entrance of the restaurant next to the cashier is a small gift shop featuring items from the television program.

My children took me out to La Vecindad. They said they had been there and the food was good and good prices and they weren't wrong. We went on a super busy night and I the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. We ordered an appetizer that didn't arrive until after we were done with our dinner. They had also made the dinner plates with some lacking items that normally come with it and they forgot a drink we ordered till we were about half way done with dinner. I do think this place has some good food and good pieces but I'd advise going on a night they aren't that busy

Everything about our experience was great. Only if you uber make sure you pick the restaurant and not the cantina. They are close together but it's a bit of a walk if you are not able to walk any distance. The food was amazing. Best mole I've ever eaten. Loved every bite. Even our 4 year old loved her food. I give it the highest recommendation I can. You won't be disappointed.

I just knew the food was going to be good from the salsa and chips. Something about it said AUTHENTIC MEXICAN SHIT! You must try the cafe de I'll a IT DID SOMETHING TO MY SOUL every time I took a sip. Best I've ever had. I had the carne en su Hugo and it was delish. Let's not forget the Agua de pepino, so refreshing. We only had one complain when my friend receive his food it was cold. They fixed it by giving him a different plate but we noticed the food got cold quick. Im not sure if it's because of the barro plates but I'd suggest maybe keeping the plates warm so the food doesn't get cold quick. We went to this cute restaurant with my husband when we went to Vegas. It is less than 10 mins from The Strip. We ordered their Cafe De Olla which was amazing. Best I've had so far. I called to asked for the wait time and asked if I could join the waiting list and I was told to call back in five minutes. So I called over 40 times and all those times the phone was busy. So I didn't have any other option but to go there. When I told them it was six people they automatically said that the tip was going to be included in the bill. There rule was that over six people tip will be included. I know the tip is usually included after 8 people. We ordered the super torta and it was flavorless it tasted like it needed more flavor. My parents are from el Districto Federal, so I grew up eating this food my whole life. We got a molcajete, and in all honesty, the salsas lacked spice, and the carne asada was dry and under seasoned. Please go eat at this restaurant as soon as you can! And then go back. When you've gone back a third time, after telling your friends and family how much you love the food and service here, keep going back. And write your five star Yelp reviews! Because the food is that good and the owners are crazy nice and everything is made in house. Just look at the pictures of you don't believe me. You don't get a deep, rich color on a mole sauce without a lot of love, okay? I know a lot of people like the pork and I think it's okay but I'm not the biggest fan just due to the tortilla that's used. The carne asada uses a freshly made tortilla which makes it taste way better. I first visited 4 years ago and have returned to it every time I'm in town in Vegas or in San Diego since that's where they have another location. These are literally the best tacos I've had because there's no other place that has the same char on their asada. The only thing that is missing that would have made it the all time best is if they had a red onion/habenero mix that I tend to mainly just see at taco stands on the street. Seating is self-serve after you pay. There's limes & radishes as well. Hacks are: If you have multiple friends going and the lines are long just split up and have people order the amount as a group so that no everyone needs to wait in line together You can ask for onions & jalapenos when ordering at the grills You can ask for salsas when you're paying at the counter ~~Return: Always.

Try the Mexican corn appetizer with it's crumbly cotija cheese, chili, lime, and mayo on top of charred corn kernels. It's in 'esquites' form, which means it's not left on the cob like 'elote' is. Their specialty, nachos, are also well seasoned and the chips are freshly made on site. What drew me in to this restaurant was a past appearance on the Maury Povich Show, where I took a paternity test for someone who claimed she was my daughter. The end result? I was cleared, so Maury pointed at me while telling her that he's "Not yo' daddy." And so I visit Nacho Daddy on occasion, strictly for celebratory reasons. Birria nachos are excellent, made with a high quality shredded beef with pickled onion, cilantro, sour cream, cheese, and lime on top of a stack of chips. Having birria without consommé was new, but this one didn't really need it with all the flavors jumping out. Another recommendation is the cheeseburger nacho, an Americanized version with ground beef, bacon, cheddar, jack, queso, onions, tomato, and lettuce. The 'mini nachos' are perfectly sized for a light meal but if you're hungry, get the full size order which is huge and shareable. This location has been in business for 17 years now and there's plenty of seating in a nice, clean atmosphere.

Drove 6 hours to Vegas to celebrate my 19th anniversary with my wife and 7 other family member. I had come here about a year ago by myself and the service and food were phenomenal. The salsa was one of a kind I may add. Fast forward to a couple days ago my wife and I come in and are seated upon entering which left a good impression. However I usually don't complain about chips and salsa but man that salsa was COLD, talk about being reused from the refrigerator. My wife was disappointed too, unfortunately the salsa seems to have changed and has less flavor now. I ordered the carne asada platter, asking for a side of salad, my wife ordered the quesadilla. Pretty good portions and food was tasty but man, the service lacked. I had to ask for tortillas, and my salad halfway through the food. I was not given a side salad but a plate of veggies, frozen nearly. My wife and I are glad we got aguas frescas because it's not like anyone was around to give us a refill. (No refills on Aguas frescas). I respect waiters because I was one back in 2005 working my rear end off trying to afford a nice ring for my now wife. I know how it works and this is not how. The couple check ups I got were brief and I didn't even want to bug anymore. As for the ambiance the music was very loud. My wife and I practically yelled at eachother all night. I then ordered the I believe strawberry cheesecake icecream. I straight up lost my appetite, a gum in the icecream, seriously? DISGUSTING. Not one complaint during dinner service at all, I only really bugged for my food items that had taken longer than normal but c'mon. The tip is added on for large parties which is why they probably has terrible service. My wife and I paid and left which was the best part (leaving). I will not be coming back or recommending this place. EXTRA NOTES: The theme and decor is very beautiful so props to the decorators! But for the prices I believe the quality should be better. read more

I absolutely LOVED La Vecindad and highly recommend checking it out when you're in Las Vegas! We did have to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, which wasn't the most enjoyable because it was so hot outside. We ended up waiting in our cars with the AC on. But I have to say--the wait was completely worth it! The moment you walk inside, the atmosphere is so much fun. The restaurant is busy and lively, with great music, colorful decorations, and so many details inspired by El Chavo del Ocho. I grew up watching the show, so being here brought back so many childhood memories. There are paintings and decorations from the show everywhere--even the bathroom is decorated! Our family was seated in the Escuelita room, and we had an absolute blast. The waiters and staff are even dressed as characters from the show, and they play music from El Chavo del Ocho. It really feels like you've stepped into La Vecindad! Despite how busy the restaurant was, the customer service was great. Our waiter was friendly, patient, helpful, and gave us some excellent food recommendations. And the FOOD! Everything we tried was delicious and seasoned to perfection. The café de olla was amazing--not overly sweet and just perfect. The molcajete was delicious and HUGE; it is definitely large enough for two people to share. We also tried the carnitas plate and carne asada plate, and I highly recommend both. The portions are very generous, so come hungry! I attached a few photos of the restaurant and our food because there is so much to see and enjoy here. Overall, we had such a great experience. Friendly and fun staff, delicious food, great music, large portions, and an amazing nostalgic atmosphere. If you grew up watching El Chavo del Ocho, you'll appreciate this place even more. La Vecindad Restaurant in Las Vegas might attract El Chavo del Ocho fans with its themed decor, but overall, it falls short of being a memorable experience. The decorations are minimal--a few photo props and character cutouts, a small replica of the washing area from the show, and some paintings on the outside wall. The only real novelty was the iconic El Chavo barrel inside the restaurant, which my son enjoyed going in and out of, just like El Chavo does in the show. While these touches are nice, they feel sparse and don't fully capture the spirit of the beloved set. Unfortunately, the food was also a letdown. The flavors were bland, and while the dishes were edible, they lacked any real taste or effort. The service was equally disappointing. The waitress dressed as Doña Clotilde (La Bruja del 71) didn't have a very serving attitude; she seemed disinterested in helping and even refused a simple request to add beans to my son's chorizo and egg taco--something you'd expect any restaurant to accommodate. The staff costumes attempt to capture the essence of the characters, but they miss the mark. Overall, La Vecindad seems to rely too heavily on El Chavo nostalgia without delivering quality food or attentive service. I'd rate it a 5 out of 10--it's worth a quick photo if you're a fan, but not much beyond that. read more

Stopped by this place on a recommendation and had quite the mixed experience. My wife decided to go with the Carne en su jugo, expecting the usual soupy delight we've come to love. However, what arrived was a dish so thick it was closer to salsa than soup, which was a bit of a letdown. While it packed a decent punch in terms of spice, the unexpected thickness made it a challenge to enjoy as we had hoped. On the flip side, I opted for the kiko plater, and that was an outright hit--totally amazing and made the meal for me. We also dabbled in trying their tortas, which turned out to be very good, though their names escape me now. It's a shame about the Carne en su jugo; that dish alone threw off our groove a bit. But the other dishes we tried were solid enough to make the visit worthwhile. It's the kind of experience that leaves you a bit torn; parts of the meal were memorable for the right reasons, yet there's that bit of disappointment you can't quite shake off. I had a very disappointing experience at this Mexican restaurant. The service was terrible from the moment we sat down. It took a long time for anyone to even come take our order, and when they finally did, the staff seemed rushed and uninterested in helping us. Unfortunately, our food order was completely messed up. Several items were missing, and some dishes were made wrong. When we told the staff about the mistake, they didn't seem apologetic and took a long time to fix it. By the time the correct food came out, the rest of our table was already done eating. Overall, the experience felt unorganized and frustrating. Good customer service goes a long way, and sadly this restaurant did not deliver. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you expect accurate orders and attentive service. read more

I loved loved LOVED this place. Looks small from the outside but don't be fooled, you walk in to another dimension. The theme is Chavó del 8, the show many of us Hispanics grew up on. The staff is beyond friendly, they dress up as the characters and check up multiple times though our your staying. There is a cute picture area and have a magician in there going table to table entertaining you and the kids if you bring any. Your kid will leave this place so so happy with a free animal ballon they will be gifted. Now the food, the wait wasn't too long once you were in, the food was also very delicious, made well. If I were you maybe call 20 mins before, my wait was supposed to be 45 mins but it turned to 25 ish. I'd wait as long as I had to though tbh. It's just that great! read more

I love love this place for so many reasons: 1. Service. Brenda is the best, always smiling, eager to answer any question and suggest delicious options. 2. Food. Authentic Mexican dishes, huge portions & always adding new flavors to the menu. The concept of "Comida Corrida" is great. It's like fast food in terms of it's ready pretty soon but they're healthy options. 3. Atmosphere. Anytime I am there, it brings me childhood memories. "La Vecindad del Chavo", most of Latin kids grew up watching it. Love the music as well, nice songs selection. 4. Price. We had the pleasure of visiting this charming restaurant for the first time on Saturday morning, and we were genuinely delighted by the delicious food! With a group of six, we all shared such a wonderful experience together. La Vecindad is a cute restaurant with a twist in classic Hispanic humor of a classic sitcom show that many of us grew up watching. A sense of comfort and familiarity to many. We ordered the Flautas and Enchiladas Poblanas, both were very good. The salsa that came with the chips and salsa was the right amount of spice. Armando our server did excellent as he checked in on us regularly and sparked conversation. We also had a waitress at the begin that did we unfortunately I did not get her name. I went here a few weeks ago and loved it so I went back today and had the mid sized Cuban sandwich, it was fantastic delicious and huge!!! Jordon or server was great and the owner was very nice too, she even checked up on us to see how everything was! It tasted very different from the way I've always enjoyed it here. My mother-in-law ordered the caldo de res, but the vegetables were very hard, including the potato, and the meat had an unusual flavor. The vegetables should have been served more tender, so we had to return her plate. On the other hand, my father-in-law ordered the mojarra and absolutely loved it. My husband ordered the steak ranchero and really enjoyed his meal, and my son ordered the steak with cilantro and also enjoyed his food. I do want to mention that the service was exceptional. Richard, our server, was attentive, friendly, and made sure to take care of us. We truly appreciated his great service. We've been loyal customers for 15 years, which is why I'm sharing this review. We love coming to Bonito Michoacán and hope the food quality was just an off day because we would love to continue coming back.

It has shrimp, octopus, and scallops in a spicy sauce with a lot of lime juice and a pickled carrot/onion/cucumber finish. All the flavors of these ingredients go well together and they give a lot of seafood. Definitely a must-order. With restaurant prices elevating, this place is one of the more affordable low-key eating options in the area. It's a hidden gem that deserves a visit when you're in downtown sin city if you want to get away from the strip for a bit.
