The food is excellent no complaints. They did however start having live entertainment on the weekends which is nice but makes it extremely hard to enjoy your dinner and converse with those you are eating dinner with as the music is extremely loud. Their band consists of brass instruments as well as a drummer and a singer. The venue is small and they use speakers in both rooms which makes the music more annoying than enjoyable. We may just come here for lunch on the weekends from now on. read more

The fam and I stopped for lunch the other day. Two of us had the lunch buffet, I had the chiliequilas and eggs plate and the last one had a hamburger(!?!) Everything was delicious and fresh. The posole on the buffet was a favorite and the flan was a hit,too. Two drinks were ordered, a mango margarita and a michelada. Both were excellent. The service and ambiance were awesome too! My husband and I went for menudo last night. The menudo came steaming hot and looked like sewer water. The bowl was mostly sewer water looking broth with little tripe and hominy. We each took one spoonful and it tasted awful. We told the waitress who didn't seem to care. Another waitress came said we could order something else. We didn't want anything else so we told her that. She left and after waiting to see what we owed for the beer we left the money on the table. She had the nerve to chase after us to say we owed for the soft drink I ordered which I Didn't even drink. Will never go back read more

We chose La Villa while simply looking for a place to eat dinner & although Mexican wasn't our 1st choice, we thought we'd check it out as a replacement "go to Mexican place" for Rodrigos (previously Don Jose's). Since changing to Rodrigos, the prices have significantly increased while the portion sizes decreased. La Villa was very good. I'm only basing this review on my chili relleno, rice & beans & my husband's seafood enchiladas but everything was delicious. It wasn't the best salsa unfortunately, but the chips were good & they do give you 2 different types of salsa. The prices can't be beat, no seriously, much cheaper than both Rodrigos & Casa Gamino. We will definitely return & bring my parents who love to dine out! read more

We attended a B day party for a close friend of the family. Had never heard of this place but was told it was good. There were about 20 guests in our party and I thought it was going to be a rough night for service seeing that there was only two servers:( was I wrong! They were excellent. The appetizer plater came quickly and was fresh as were the chips and salsa! I ordered the grande burrito w/carnitas. WTF!! Is what I said under my breathe. Everyone was dumbfounded at the sheer size of this monster! It was not only big in size but also in taste and flavor! I recommend if you try it take a friend or two to share its HUGE! I do not recommend this place at all. We came for breakfast, service was ok, food... not so much. I had the chilaquiles with potatos and beans. Potatoes were dry and had no seasoning, taste like cardboard. Chilaquiles had a sauce that tasted like it came from a can, nasty flavor. Beans had no taste as well. I am not a fan of over priced, Taco Bell style Mexican food. I tried this restaurant today because of the name change to the Villa. We didn't like this place when it was Casa Garcia and we are sad to report, the name change didn't change the quality of the food. FYI- there is a regular size drink and a large size drink. If you don't specify which size you want, they do not ask. They just charge your for the large. And if you by chance order the regular, there are no refills. However, again they do not tell you that. If you order a regular size drink and ask for a refill, they automatically charge for the large. I thought that was kind of shady. I found out when we were charged $15 for some Iced Teas and a Sprite. Waitress was nice about it when I asked but all she could say is "Its not my rules." read more

I came here with a group of friends to have a nice dinner but throughout the whole time of my dinner there was a lot of screaming. I turn around and I see some pregnant waitress yelling at two other waitresses. That behavior was just disgusting especially since I overheard the pregnant lady telling the other two waitresses a lot of cruel nasty things. To think that I was going to have a nice outgoing dinner but instead get to eat in a restaurant with the most disgusting behavior possible. The pregnant lady was also getting confused in a lot of orders because I saw other clients correcting her a lot . I took the opportunity to speak to one of the waitresses and told her if she wanted legal help on reporting this to just call me because the treatment of employees in this restaurant t is just horrendous. Poor customer service, as I walked in to pickup my order I submitted via Grubhub... the greeting waitress just asked the if I ordered Grubhub and pointed to the bagged up food on a table to the side and nothing else, didn't even verify my name for the order! I had to check it self to make sure I didn't take someone else's food by mistake. Besides the bad service, the food is bland! The chilaquiles had chunks of tomato in them and just not very appetizing. I found this place on yelp and I was impressed by the reviews. It looked like it would be a pretty good place. Well, going out on a limb, I brought my family here to try the buffet. We showed up at about 1pm, knowing that the buffet closes at 2pm. When we walked in, the workers didn't even greet us, they just gestured to find a spot to sit. I liked the set up on the restaurant and the place mat. It looks super cute inside! I went to the buffet and was shocked to see that they didn't have much food. I totally get it..there's only 1 more hour until the buffet closes. So I politely asked the worker if there would be more food brought out, since the pans were empty. She had an attitude and said "NO, THE BUFFET IS ABOUT TO CLOSE AT 2." I checked my clock and it was 1:16 by this time. I noted that to the worker and she said she can bring some tacos and a quesadilla to me personally but there won't be anymore food taken to the buffet. I went to take a picture of the buffet and they seen me. (Which I can care less about.) And all of a sudden I start getting nicer tones, smiles, and an offer to refill my drink. They took the few items to the buffet but didn't even add meat to the quesadilla. But the other quesadillas that were left there from earlier had meat. I couldn't wait to pay and get the hell out of there. I was impressed with the price and it appeared that the drink was included in the price, which was the best quality I noticed. So it's 1 star for the decorations and ambiance inside the restaurant, and 1 star for the price. However, I see now that you get what you pay for! Looking for a new spot for lunch before going into Dland. Searched Yelp and very impressed with service and food. We arrived about noon on Sat. and immediately seated. As soon as we were seated, warm chips arrived along w/ 2 different salsas: traditional chunky pico de gallo and a more blended spicy salsa. LOTS to choose from on the menu. I had the Chef Tostado w/ carne asada (came w/ your choice of carnitas, chicken, ground beef, chili colorado). It came in a freshly made flour tortilla and was stuffed with carne asada, rice, beans, lettuce, cheese and delish homemade guac. Hubby got the carnitas burrito. It was huge and stuffed with the most flavorful carnitas. Our drinks (iced tea) were constantly being refilled. And the price??? More than reasonable for 2 people. Even their refríed beans didn't have much flavor. Cheese Enchilada was bland, their table salsas were bland and the Chile relleno we had was full of seeds. Could have given less stars for this alone (you de-vein the peppers). I had the ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Menudo and was notified I ordered the last of the ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Menudo. Go figure. We absolutely loved this place. We have been here before but something has changed. The prices are better than the posted menu. The margaritas are REALLY good and the food was excellent! We had a couple of stale chips but ok. How bad can that be? Plus they came around with Mexican sweet bread for nothing! We will be back, more frequently. BTW the new restaurant name is La Villa. There are a lot of Mexican options up and down Lincoln and this place is the best I have had so far. Their tacos are delicious with a great Taco Tuesday deal. Their margaritas are a nice size and very tasty. I'm just disappointed in the way they handled a situation on two separate nights. I think tonight will be the last night my family and I go and I won't be telling people about how much I loved it here. So about two weeks ago my family and I came in and when it was time to pay I showed our server, who was also the manager, my phone so he could use the coupon they have listed on their website. There are a number of nice coupons on their site and this one was for a buy one entree get the next of equal or lesser value free. The man told me that I had to have the coupon printed out so that he could attach it to my check and file it. It doesn't say that anywhere on their website. It shows the coupon and it clearly has a code that the man could have just wrote on my check and then you would know this person showed this coupon and that explains the discount given. I even joked with the guy and said we live around the corner now and I could leave quick while my party waits and print it out at the house in 5 minutes. He didn't seem up for it and wasn't willing to work with me. So I said ok next time we will remember to print it out. He said yes bring it next time and one of your fajitas will be taken off of the bill. So tonight I made sure to print out the coupon and bring it in. My mother and I ordered the fajitas and my son had a burger. I gave the coupon and when my check came back they took off my burger and not a fajita. (The very first time we ate here we asked the server if they had a kids burger and she said sure! Plain! It was so good and even came on this awesome Mexican bun. Tonight this burger was completely different and on a regular sesame seed bun. I almost asked but didn't.) Of course on our check they took off the burger and not a fajita. Then the servers are telling me that the coupons are expired. There is no expiration date anywhere on the coupons or website. The server mentioned something about the code and the code doesn't show a date of it expiring either. I told the server what had happened when we came in last time and how we were told to print the coupon. Now all of a sudden they have been expired for a while and they can't ever comp a fajita. The most they couple take off is 12 bucks. It clearly says on the coupon equal or lesser value. I don't get how the could use a kids meal as an option when it says on the coupon entrees. Now the server is saying it's not a kids option to have a burger. Then I'm being told the coupons are old and the menu online is old. At this point I'm just done and paid full price for everything just so I could get my 3 year old home. If you have coupons listed on your website you should honor them. If you don't want to honor them you should get someone to update your website. I shouldn't have had to hear all the excuses that are not my problem. Too bad because your food is great and we live so close. I miss having a close go to spot. read more
