We had came here during the week hours so it wasn't all too busy. Maybe it's just like that overall? But the food that was served came out pretty good. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks which wasn't a bad taste at all either. Good place to relax & enjoy your meal(with your specialty michelada if you decide to). The server worked hard to make sure everything was good standing when he could while we ate so I admired that. There was one bald server who would ignore us because maybe we looked younger with his ego standing out because he had no problem serving the other crowds with these mature women he kept coming to more than our server did which bugged me a little because our server would be just as attentive to them as well and I would have want to asked for a few things and we felt ignored half the time. You do feel welcomed here so not too bad of a place though. I come here at least once a month, the ONE time I tried calling in my order was very disappointing. I literally tried calling over & over & over for about 45 mins. I have been craving menudo for some time now so I decided to take the family (in laws included) out for some today. We had been here once prior when it was La Casa Garcia; and I remembered it being pretty tasty so I figured why not. The menudo was good enough but it definitely didn't satisfy my craving. Shame. As with most restaurants the service is what really garners a positive or negative review. So, here you have it, THREE stars. Now, the service wasn't terrible but it was lacking to say the least. In that they only had two waitresses attending to the whole establishment. It took about 10 minutes from sitting down to put our drink order in and then another 5 before we had something to drink in front of us. Again, shame. read more

How disappointed I was after this last time. It was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was dead. We sat in the bar section and we ordered some mixed drinks that tasted terrible. The girl helping us was very nice but she definitely did not know how to mix drinks. Then the food came out and it looked pretty good but sadly the flavor was not there at all. Very bland, over priced unauthentic Mexican food. We all asked each other what we thought as we took our first few bites and we all signaled the thumbs down. I'm not sure but I want to think that it was the cook that night or who knows. I only say that because the chilaquiles I took to go that first time tasted really good. I have to say that this place is a hidden gem. Went recently on Father's Day with a large group (about 14 of us) and they were very accommodating. I ordered a beef dish although I can't remember the name it was basically cubed beef with onions, zucchini and peppers. Soooo delicious I couldn't believe how good it came out. Some of the best beans I've ever had came with it along with Spanish style rice. Everyone at the table was pleased with their order. We also had about 7 kids and they ordered everything from chicken fingers to ribs (yes they actually have ribs) and shrimp cocktail. Add to this the fact that they had only one person in the kitchen putting out these dishes and you can see how impressed we were. All dishes came out at pretty much the same time. I'm not that close to Anaheim but I would definitely go back for more. Oh and the waitstaff were very attentive to us. (Good service with large groups are sometimes hard to find. ) If you want some really flavorful Mexican food with decent pricing and family atmosphere, I highly recommend this place! read more

We stopped by La Villa for lunch this past weekend to give it a try. We were greeted immediately and the waitress let us pick our seat. After we sat down, chips and salsa were served and our drink order was taken. The employees were attentive the entire time and we were very pleased with the service given. In addition, the restaurant was clean which is important to me, which is why I gave them 3 stars. The food on the other hand, did not leave us with a good impression. Chips and Salsa: The chips were stale and the two salsa options lacked flavor. One of the salsas served looked as if it was handed down from another table because it had a ring around the edge as if someone ate out of it already. Main dish: Albondigas (Meatball soup): Being one of my favorite Mexican soups I was excited to try it at this restaurant. It was served in a very large bowl with tortillas, onions and limes. In my opinion, there was too much broth and not enough meatballs and/or veggies. The broth was good, but tasted as if it was Caldo de Res (Beef soup) instead of Albondigas and it was not fresh. The reason I know it was not fresh was because of the veggies (carrots, zucchinis and celery.) They were all broken up and in pieces most likely the leftovers, from when? Don't know. Lengua Plate with Rice, Beans and Salad My husband ordered this plate, something I would never order because I can't fathom the idea of eating tongue. His opinion: "It was all just Okay, but the tortillas tasted very good." The tortillas at this restaurant are handmade and are good. I think there is a lot of room for improvement with the freshness of food, it is extremely important because it leaves a lasting impression. Ever since La Villa took over La Casa Garcia their food is better and their service is exceptional. Their menudo is delicious, clean and full of flavor. You can always get a cup of you dont want an entire bowl. We come here at least once a month. My go to brunch plate are carne asada chilaquiles. Hands down the best i have ever had the sauce is delicious and the potatos are tender yet crispy. Their customer service is top notch, they always greet you with a warm welcome and consistently follow up with you. By far one of my favorite mexican food places. read more

I'm so disappointed in the customer service I received today. I will say the food is good and I used to be happy with the great customer service my mom and I got there ... I've been going there for years. My mom, 92, eats like a bird so I normally order a small bowl of menudo or posole. Today I was told they no longer offer smaller portions. I then asked for one serving and an extra empty small bowl to serve my mom. I get two regular bowls served and when I mention I just wanted one, The waitress was so kind to say she'd see what she could do, by now my mom has started eating her meal...she has dementia and didn't know what was going on. I eat mine, it's time to leave and to my surprise I'm not only charged for two regular bowls, which the waitress said she would only charge for one, I asked her the menu prices are not the same as what she charged...she said sorry they haven't updated the menus with the new prices ... I'm not opposing the right to increase your prices but let your customers know of the prices! There were a couple of other statements said that were uncalled for too! I know I'm just one customer but I believe in taking care of the customer ... too bad he has lower his standards and I will no longer refer friends there ... good bye La Villa ...
