We had a decent experience here. Each of us got a piece of plain cheese and buffalo chicken. A total of four slices, which came out to ~$24 (which felt a bit steep for a slice shop). The cheese was quite solid, not a bad piece of pizza at all. The buffalo chicken didn't quite do it for us - it was a bit too salty for our taste. Not a bad experience at all, and it hit the spot for what we we were looking for. read more

This is a perfectly alright pizza chain with a bunch of locations. I'm unsure if the other locations have this, but they have a deal all day where you get a free soda or a bottle of water when you order either two slices or one of their heroes. It's an alright deal, but not as good as some of the other pizza places in the surrounding area. Speaking of other places, this is better than the other giant chain, Little Italy, and is comparable to the other chain, La Pizza Italia, but with less interesting toppings. However, I think Cassiano's and Brooklyn Pizza Masters are a lot better, with Best Pizza On First being marginally better, with smaller slices but much better cheese and sauce. The sauce here a bit too sweet for me. The cheese didn't stretch too much either and seemed a bit overcooked. They add a bit of semolina to the bottom of the crust for extra crunch, which is a nice touch, but the crust otherwise is a bit too thick. I have passed by this place a ton as it's right near me, but I'm almost never in the mood for them in particular, even if the other ones aren't open. For pizza, that's not a good sign. Low 3 at the highest. read more

Had a classic pepperoni slice. The pizza was good. It had good flavor and a really nice crunch on the crust. The dough was not as flavorful and didn't have the chew as some others I've tried but still good. The service was fine however the restaurant was dirty. The trash can overflowing and there was no where to throw trash and the tables were dirty tables. 4 stars for the pizza, 3 stars for the restaurant. read more

Wanted a snack before hopping on the Roosevelt tramway and this was the nearest quick slice pizza spot. The pizza here is just okay. Not the best, not the worst. Good if you're in a pinch and want a quick slice. Lots of different slices to choose from which can be a little overwhelming. I've tried many different pizzas all over New York City, but I recently came across a hidden gem on 57th Street and 2nd Avenue--La Vista Pizza--and it completely blew me away. Their pizza is incredibly delicious; in fact, I've never had anything quite like it. The crust is perfectly crunchy yet hearty, and the sauce is an absolute delight to the palate. Every single type of pizza we tried was outstanding--each one better than the last. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. I 100% recommend this place. I really like La Vista cornmeal crust for its crispiness. (Some people prefer more flop). The oven here is natural gas, so their heat is right for making a good slice. Good quality in the classic slices (I didn't try any of the odder choices available, like chicken caesar). I preferred the extra flavor of Perron and mushroom to the margherita, which was a touch under-flavored. The prices here a very good for such a high-quality pizza. read more

Lavista's Pizza was absolutely delicious. I stopped by around 11 pm. The store was fully open, presenting a lively welcoming environment. The food was so good and the portions were supersized in comparison to their prices. Stopped by on Wednesday evening around 830p, lots of seating; had a margarita slice, rainbow slice, and a can of Sprite Zero. They're doing a grand opening promotion where it's $6 for 2 cheese slices and a can of soda; or $10 for 2 specialty slices. This would not be your favorite spot if you like pizza to be more pillowy doughy, but definitely will hit the spot if you like it on the thin and crunchy side. Pizza was nice and crispy. Cornmeal dusted crust makes it nice and crispy. The rainbow slice looked pretty but honestly just tasted like a regular marinara and cheese slice- couldn't taste the pesto at all, which is quite a statement since pesto is a strong flavor. The margarita slice was the perfect cheese, sauce, dough ratio. Excellent service. Great addition to the neighborhood. read more

The pizza tasted better because I was hungry . In reality it just barely gets a passing grade . The margherita was especially disappointing as I rendered it inedible with all its saltiness . The sauce couldn't save it nor could the ton of oil that was making it droop while it was held . Fortunately I bought a second slice which was better . The veggie slice fortunately didn't have those problems but the addition of feta cheese didn't bode well with me . I also kinda didn't care for the crust of the pizza . I'm not sure what flour they use but it's not the typical crust I've come to expect from a NY slice . This crust is more gritty , crunchy , thicker and drier . I for one am not a fan especially when the prices are just about on par with some other nearby gems . read more

Located on 2nd ave and 58th st. Newish spot to me and my coworkers. Gotten hero sandwiches from them before. This place offers very good deals for lunch! A chicken parm hero + a can of soda for $10... in midtown... in 2023... it's an amazing deal! Today, I got the veal parm entree. A LOT of FOOD! I can't remember the last time I bought lunch and couldn't finish it. Why am I not giving them 5 stars ... They failed to toast the bread before making the chicken parm sandwich. I didn't mind it terribly, b/c I ate it pretty much right away. Had let the sandwich sit... it would have been a soggy mess. Toasting the bread before making a parmigiana sandwich is a pretty standard thing... The veal parmigiana... the linguini the dish came with was a bit over cooked. I prefer my noodles more Al dente. The went too heavy in the breading on the veal... and worst of all, it was coming off the veal and mixing with the marinara... forming clomps of marinara bread . The dish was a bit heavy on sauce and salt (for my taste, of course). This is about our 3rd time at the place. Many of the staff members struggle to communicate in English. They all seem friendly though. Casual atmosphere. Not giving them a high score, but I will still try their non-breaded entree items and their pizza in the near future. read more

Stumbled upon this little shop on a walk back from grocery shopping, and I'm so glad I did. The ambiance of the shop is very welcoming as is the staff. They have an extensive menu with numerous mouth-watering selections, although I went for the pizza -- and got hooked! The pizza is either sold by the slice or baked to order, and topped with fresh ingredients that they don't skimp on. The crust itself is what won me over, though; it's the perfect thickness -- not too thick, not too thin -- crispy, not soggy, and absolutely delicious! This is one pizza crust that I'm not upset if my kids don't finish it and they give it to me. Tonight we ordered a half margarita, half cheese pizza and they accidentally made a mistake with the pizza. I called to simply inform of the mistake and the gentleman who answered was extremely kind, understanding, apologized for the mistake, and said he would make it right. I was expecting a credit next time we visit, but shortly after hanging up, the doorbell rang -- they remade a pie and delivered it to us! This was the sweetest, most thoughtful way to make it right, and it completely made my kids' night; they jumped for joy and immediately started eating. I highly recommend this shop. Not only is the food superb, but the customer service is top notch!! Thank you so much for making our night! read more

I got a chicken Caesar hero from here and it was no joke the worst sandwich I've had in my life. A very mediocre white hero roll, with a piece of extremely dry grilled chicken and lettuce. There was absolutely ZERO dressing or Parmesan cheese, as listed on the menu. I couldn't even finish half of the sandwich, it was legitimately inedible. read more

I stopped by a restaurant next door and was planning to eat there. Lo and behold the restaurant was eating their pizza. Lol I walked out and went to la vista pizza. I was met with the nicest guy in a hat and mustache. I told him my story and we laughed. I ate his pizzza and it was the freshest and best I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this shop. Originally my order had spilled all over my bag and I couldn't get a hold of anyone so I was pretty disappointed. Also Slice has pretty bad customer service..... just saying! However, I called La Vista personally the next day and the Manager Alex was so kind and helpful. He gave me my meal on the house and sent a new order. I will definitely order from them again. I ordered via Uber Eats this time, and MAN -- I was blown away. I honestly thought that they had screwed up and sent me a gluten version. I checked the order and receipt. It was so good -- the crust so chewy with bite -- but light and airy and tight -- the cheese and toppings all great and fresh and delicious. It tasted like an awesome piece of NYC pizza. I was so happy. I did some Claude sleuthing -- and think I'm onto their magic with the crust -- and am excitedly going to experiment in my home kitchen in the coming weeks (Neapolitan oven, be damned!).

To top that off, Caporuscio recently debuted a brand new pizza tasting menu that features a curated lineup of never-before-seen pizza napoletana, and seven varieties of pizza fritta (fried pizza). Lastly, the entire pizza menu is now available gluten-free. With vast offerings, they are ambitious, and every dish is outstanding.

Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. It's subtly backlit from with a warm, amber glow that highlights every single historic groove and imperfection, making the whole room look like it's breathing. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!

Food: This is my favorite Halal cart, in addition to Sammy's, in NYC. The platter comes with your…read morechoice of meat, spicy or yellow rice, salad, and pita. White sauce is added on top and other sauces (hot sauce, BBQ, and green sauce) are packed in small plastic containers and available to take on the side. I really enjoyed the food here; it was fresh and tasted better than most Halal carts in the city. There's a bit of a wait, but it's worth it! Service: Service is nothing special; there are many people cooking and 1-2 staff members taking orders. This halal cart opens at 6pm every day, and a line starts forming along the sidewalk well before 6pm. There were about 20 people ahead of us in line, and we waited for a total of 40-45 minutes before it was our turn. Once it's your turn, your order comes out pretty quickly. Ambiance: This cart is located on 6th avenue and 49th Street diagonal from Radio City Music Hall. The cart itself doesn't have any seating, but there are many tables and chairs directly across from the cart that are open to the public. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this spot!

PRO TIP: (as others have said): Long lines here yes, but you can skip most of it if you just order ahead for pickup from GrubHub, as they have TWO carts here - a new cart dedicated for these online orders, and their original cart for walk-up orders with the longer line.

The burrata was just the right amount of cream without overwhelming the slice. I also thought the salami slice was pretty great too. The fig one was quite good. Eventually the batteries kick in, she snaps out of it and asked if I was being helped. Finally! She asks if I wanted it to go, and I gave her what I thought was a clear YES. I also requested a receipt but that was clearly too much for her to handle. Another girl called out the name I gave them, and my slice is on a plate. I told her that I had said I wanted it to go so she bagged it up (no box I guess?) for me. At least this one apologized while the original girl just stood there. Between the horrendous heat and service, I just wanted out of there. We were taking tons of napkins to wipe our faces it was that bad. There was a standing counter, and some seating in the window area but I don't know how anyone could sit in there the day I visited. I actually took this slice to the gym a few blocks over and ate it in the lobby since I knew they had A/C and the slice would cool off enough by then. This poached pear was delicious. I can never get enough pears, and this was loaded with them. The hot honey will obviously make everything sticky but in this case, it was worth it. Crust was perfect as well. I imagine it would taste just as good heated fresh from the oven, but I'm here to say it was great on the much cooler side too. I wonder if their other location is better; even though it's far, I'd certainly be willing to give them a try since I know the food will be A+++ (and hoping the service there will be too).

We ordered the Homemade Granola & Yogurt, Korean Fried Chicken Wings, and Honey Butter Pancakes. So this spot is super known for their Honey Butter Pancakes. But I was not a fan. The pancake was drenched in syrup and incredibly rich and sweet. We ordered the berry compote to go along with the pancake which was nice to have. The Korean Fried Chicken Wings were not it for me. The taste of the meat was a bit off and the sauce was more sweet than savory. I tried my friend's Homemade Granola & Yogurt and the yogurt was very watery. She was unable to finish the meal... Overall, I was disappointed by the food. It did not live up to the hype for me. I also do not think it is worth that long of a wait. Would I coke back in the future? Possibly to try their other foods.

The soup was delicious with a mild spice that was somewhat leaning towards a schesuan style spice. Hearty broth. Delicious. Very spicy pork dan dan mien also so delicious the best flavoring and sauce topped with scallions. Ordered the tofu drink which was okay. With tapioca and tofu chunks with somewhat of a horchata/soy milk base It was takeout style with seating options in front of there food stand where you could watch them pull the noodles in front of you.
