I'd been meaning to come here for years but for some reason just never made it over. Well, when I happened to be in the area for work I made a point to stop by and finally check it out. What a cute shop! Everything in there looked amazing honestly, a great selection of fancy pastries and croissants / normal cafe fair. I love that little Cheesecake Rabbit and I've had it before and it's particularly lovely. But this time I went for a buncha different stuff, like chestnut, mango and lychee-apricot pastries, plus a jasmine passionfruit cream croissant. ALL of it was AMAZING omg and the attention to detail! Everything is edible, everything is beautiful. The flower slightly fell off of one while the employee was putting it in the box and she insisted on giving me a new one -- nice! I appreciate that, everything costs enough it should feel special. This small shop was not what I expected to see from the photos that I saw online so I was a little taken aback. The pastries on the display all looked so cute it was kind of hard to choose what it was I wanted to try. After a little bit of deliberation, I decided on the Jasmine Passionfruit Danish and the Ube Cloud. The Danish to start off with was not crispy at all. The flavors were interesting and quite nice but it was weird to look at such a flaky croissant but feel like it was just thawed out from another day. I had the same feeling with the Ube Cloud. It did not taste very fresh and felt like it was just thawed out on top be being overly sweet. My sister and I were not impressed at all. Came here for valentine's Day afternoon tea and it's pretty clear that they're not really made for an in person dining experience. There are only three tables and the place kind of looked dirty. The waitress was nice, but she was managing our tables in addition to the takeout orders. While none of the food was terrible, but none of it was really that good either. For $50 a person it didn't really feel like good value. The tea tasted bland and all the savory items were not impressive. The turkey sandwich feels like what I used to make for myself in middle school. The strawberry "mousse" cups were frozen and just not a good showing for a place that's supposedly famous for their mousse cakes. The ambiance was slightly uncomfortable and while we had just got our food, there was a woman in the back selling her jewelry. She interrupted us to try and sell us her jewelry in an already small space. Why do they let that happen? It is so tacky and unprofessional, and made us so weirded out . We packed the last two cakes to go because we just didn't want to stay there. As for the cakes themselves, it's fine. Nothing amazing and the mousse feels really dense. For the black sesame cake in particular, I feel like too many competing flavors, made it not as successful. While the salmon cream cheese puff was my favorite, light and creamy, I wished they had used Asian milk bread for the sandwiches to improve the texture. My husband and I went to try out their Anntremet's afternoon tea service. Most places we've been allow each person to pick their own. One tea per party - most likely large enough for 2 but may be difficult if you have different tastes in tea. They also offer some complimentary cold drinks so that helps. Hot tea selection is pretty limited (maybe 5-6 options). They don't provide a warmer or teapot cozy so the tea will be cool for the last couple of cups unless you share or are a fast drinker. There are only 3 tables so getting a reservation may be a little difficult, so plan well in advance! Food: overall not bad. Sandwich/quiche fillings were very flavorful, breads (not the salé) were a bit bland. Bread used for the open-faced sandwiches were rather tough. Quiches were served cold - they definitely would have been better warm. Sweets were very good - aside from the stuff on the tier stand you get to pick 3 mousse cakes per party. They have some unusual flavors to pick from too. I'd give the lavender seasonal tea a 4/5, would like to try their normal afternoon tea menu at some point as well read more

Solid 4 star for the Halloween tea time experience. I'm not one to overly obsess over photo ops or take a crazy amount of photos, but I do enjoy to take a quick video or photo to capture the dishes. Presentation wise, it was pretty cute. My partner and I have been wanting to try Anntremet for the longest time since we saw the bunny cake with a mini butchers knife for Halloween. We spent the past year trying to get reservations and we finally got a reservation for Sunday at 2pm. Food wise, the pumpkin cheesecake tart as well as the lychee apricot cakes were my absolute favorite. I wish there were a little more savory options, as the focaccia seemed a bit stale and the quiches a bit cold. My friend and I came to this cute little cake shop for afternoon tea service through making a reservation through OpenTable. *NOTE: They require a credit card on file and will charge $30 for no shows* However, at only $39 per person, this place offers one of the most inexpensive afternoon tea services in the city! The decor was simple, but lovely. Inside is quite small, but they utilize the space well. The front had the display of a variety of beautiful mousse cakes, cookies, and other treats. In the back area, there were several tables and chairs. There was a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Upon entering, we chose our mousse cakes and were seated quickly. I just had to try the Black Sesame mousse cake, while my friend picked Chocolate. For the tea, we selected the herbal Mothers Day, which was made up of rose petal, orange peel, chamomile and cornflower. This was served in a pretty glass tea pot. The tea was a delightful blend of yumminess, with delicate aroma and taste of each ingredient. Next, we were served the traditional 3 tier stacked plates of mini sandwiches, focaccia, scones, mini desserts, as well as cookies. The sandwiches included Turkey with Cucumber, and raw Salmon with Dill cream cheese. There were also Mozzarella Balls with Tomato. I enjoyed the Turkey one and the cucumber added a nice freshness and crunch. I don't eat raw fish, so didn't try the Salmon. The sun dried tomato with mushroom and olive rosemary focaccia came with olive oil and vinegar, which was the perfect accompaniment. Focaccia was also soft and full of flavor. The blueberry lemon scone was moist and quite tasty, but was missing clotted cream, as well as jam. Onto the sweet offerings... There were the Mousse Cakes, Fruit Tarts, Butter Cookies, and Macarons. The Mousse cakes were visually stunning with a glassy, shiny sheen. My Black Sesame one was a pale, pretty grey color, marbled with black, topped with sesame crisp, raspberry, sprinkled with some black sesame powder. It tasted delectable with an irresistible nuttiness and layers of different tastes and textures, such as raspberry coulee and matcha sponge. My friend's Chocolate Mousse Cake was dark chocolate and had a little meringue on top. It was decadent, intense, velvety with a wonderful depth of yumminess. Fruit tart had a satisfyingly crunchy shell, combined with rich, smooth cream and refreshing berries. The Butter cookies were Lemon Lavender, Earl Grey, and Mixed Nuts. These I saved for later and they still tasted delicious! They were crisp, buttery, and not overly sweet. Macarons were kind of dry and not that impressive to me. Service was decent. The lady at the front was pleasant and answered any questions we had. When done, we went back up there to pay and mistakenly charged my friend for the more pricey Lavender themed afternoon tea. This is a review for their birthday cakes, which I have now ordered twice. The first one was Mirror Glaze cake in Lychee Apricot. This one looked beautiful and was delicious, with a mix of different textures and fruity flavors. It was steep at $85 for a 7 inch cake but at least I knew what I was paying for. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed this year. I ordered an 8-inch ($135) Jelly Cat Fresh Cream cake, with chocolate writing (+$4), and what I received was a cake that was half the expected size. I guess AnnTremet can get away with it as they didn't specify the height in the description, but it's deceptive, given the website photo shows a much taller cake. For $151 after tax, this just wasn't worth it. There aren't too many bakeries that do Asian flavors and are higher-end, so I really wanted AnnTremet to be the go-to birthday cake provider for me and my friends. I arrived 5 mins early and let the staff know about our reservation. Since this bakery was so small, the booth seating only fit about 6 people or two parties. I felt bad for the couple that was already seated at the booth and had to be moved to a smaller table for two in the middle of their meal. The staff prepped the booth seating for mine and another party's afternoon tea reservation. For the $39 afternoon tea set, we each got to choose 2 cookies (earl grey, lemon, and matcha), 1 dessert (black sesame, lychee apricot and passion fruit), and 2 pots of tea (Jasmine fairy maiden and Mother's day) The set also came with assorted bite sized sandwiches, scones, and pastries. We started with the savory cake sales which were quite dense. The flavors were subtle for olive rosemary and zucchini bacon, which tasted like Chinese sausage. The sundried tomato and mushroom one was flavorful and my favorite out of the 3 but not my friends. The mini sandwiches were indeed mini and nothing spectacular. For the sweets, I enjoyed the blueberry lemon scone and the strawberry chocolate mousse cups. My favorite out of the cakes was passion fruit with sesame as a close second. The teas were both nice and pleasant to drink during our meal. Overall, I think AnnTremet just didn't hit the mark. My friends and I agreed that the set was a bit too carb heavy and we weren't able to even finish the cookies. The taste was unique but not impressive enough to return. I made an order for our satellite office as a treat and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Caution that their menu on yelp doesn't clearly state the savory sale breads are not available until a certain time. I placed an order the night before to happen at midday when they opened, was charged for it, and the order was packed and picked up by grubhub without the savory breads. The bakery had to call me to ask me to dispute it with grubhub since they could not refund me on their end (which I found to be weird, they were the ones who got paid for an item they didn't have). It took several calls to grubhub's cx agents and eventually I got refunded- save yourself the trouble and I wouldn't place the order based on what they have posted on yelp as their offerings. read more

Then you're on to the Land of Chocolate (cue *Homer Simpson music*), which includes Sakura Coconut Panna Cotta, those Kirby Macarons, Sakura Sugar Cookies, a Matcha Strawberry Roll Cake, and the three entremet pastries. We got the Black Sesame (delicious), Sakura Cheesecake (perfect), and Pandan Coconut (heavenly). I also tried the Bunny Cheesecake later because it was too cute not to buy and didn't regret it. My friend introduced me to this place when we got a cake from here in the past. We saw that they had afternoon tea time and decided to come here for tea. They had two options for the tea - lavender tea time ($59 per person) and regular tea set which was $39 for person. We decided to stick with the regular tea set for three people - came with two tea options and we each got to pick out a moouse cake. The rest of the items were all up on their menu. They give you 1.5 hours for each tea time - the inside place was not huge and there were two parties for tea time here. The food for the tea set was actually a lot for the price - the salty sandwiches were delicious. They had a side of cookies which were also good. The tea was really good - Mother's day was our favorite. For the moouse cake - we got the sesame, lychee and strawberry one and I will say that the strawberry one was my favorite. Everything was super aesthetic here and even if you do not come here for tea time the cakes are so delicious. I have had the mango one in the past and it was so good and so pretty as well. It's over 50 dollars per person, which is more than the usual afternoon tea special they have. Unfortunately, I felt like the experience wasn't worth the extra money. My friends and I came here for their special limited lavender afternoon tea set and it was amazing! They only have two tables for afternoon tea but we had a reservation and didnt have to wait long for them to prepre our table. We are big fans of lavender and felt that you could really taste the lavender in all the teas and sweets. I came here for their Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea set and had a lovely time sampling so many different snacks! The space itself is a bit small, but they have a lot going on besides the afternoon tea. They also do cake making classes in the back, which you can sort of see through their window, and they sell their pastries up at the front. Now comes the food! You choose a tea and a few of the cakes or mouses and they bring everything in a 3 tiered tray. There were items like croissants, cherry blossom cookies, macarons, quiches, cakes and mini sandwiches. My favorites were the cherry blossom cookie, salmon and dill sandwich and chicken pate! I think there was a lot of sweets and I'm personally more of a savory person but this was delicious! I actually got really full and couldn't finish everything but luckily, we were allowed to take it back and it was packaged very carefully in a nice box. I loved how the sweets weren't overwhelmingly sweet and they were so beautifully crafted. The only downside for me was that the quiches tasted a bit dry and I wish they came out warm and more runny. Sitting near the back there is a cool window to view the production and baking in the back. The staff was extremely kind and added some more agave to my friend's matcha (which was really good) upon request. The black sesame cake was definitely worth it. It wasn't too sweet at all and had great flavor. It had a light and airy texture to it and was also a good size. I understand that as a business owner they need to know how many people are coming to prepare adequate inventory of their food but also the difference was just going to be 1 person...wasn't going to be like 1 or 6 people or a crazy difference like that. Secondly: no bathrooms!!! As other reviews have mentioned, it is a bit weird to have a sit down dining service but no bathroom. Like if you want to encourage people to eat here for longer than just a grab and go, you gotta have a restroom available. I didn't know prior to coming here that they didn't have public restrooms here, but I had known that there was no restroom it definitely might have made me not want to come here because major bathroom anxiety yall lol But all that aside, food was awesome. It was $52 per person and I think it was worth it. The holiday cakes were all so cute and delicious. Initially I thought that the food that came on the tiers wasn't that much and I wasn't going to be full, but I was WRONG. It doesn't look like a lot of food but it's all super dense so you will be so full by the end of this. this post is super late but wanted to share about the delicious cakes that i got from anntremet for my sister's birthday earlier this year. their cakes are so aesthetically pleasing, and they're delicious too - not too sweet yet still flavorful. since we had a large group coming over, i got a 7-inch 'purple dream' cake ($82) and a mini mousse cake combination box ($35). their menu seems to change so the one i chose is no longer on the menu but honestly, everything on the menu sounds wonderful and is customizable. i chose this particular one as it had a layer of purple yam purée, purple yam chiffon cake, and pandan infused coconut mousse, all flavors that my sister loves. the mini mousse cake flavors also change and they typically list which ones are included when you order. i liked that ordering this set gave you the opportunity to try a variety of flavors. (i think) the ones we got were the passion, blueberry lemon lavender, lychee apricot, and black sesame. back in april, delivery was only $5 in manhattan (which was honestly a steal since it'd cost me more to go pick it up via subway) but it looks like it has since increased to $10-$20 i also visited the actual bakery a few months later and tried the pandan coconut and all about strawberry mini cakes. the seating area is small and you need a reservation to do the afternoon tea, which i would definitely love to try sometime! read more

This is such a fun experience! We booked an afternoon tea experience at 2:30pm on a Sunday. There are only 3 tables for seating 2 people each so I would recommend booking early if you are also interested in doing this experience. Our afternoon tea experience was Halloween themed and we had a choice of a tea to share and could choose 3 cakes from their regular display. The rest of the pastries, sandwiches, and cookies that came with it are all part of the afternoon tea set. The service was really good and they explained everything to us and it was really easy to order. Walked past this place every time I went to Barachou but never went in. Finally decided to give it a try, and was neither impressed nor disappointed. The store is long and narrow, with four small tables in the back reserved for their afternoon tea service. The cakes are barely palm-sized but absolutely beautiful. A+ for presentation. These are very light mousse cakes with some filling in the center. The Black Sesame was very good with rich flavors, but Lychee Apricot was way too tart for my taste. Service was slow. For how much hype this place gets on Instagram, I was pretty disappointed by both the afternoon tea set and the service. At $39 pp, the price was great. We came as a group of 4, and we were able to choose 5 cakes and 2 teas to share. Although they were all very pretty, the only ones we enjoyed were the more fruity ones (my personal favorites were the strawberry and lychee apricot ones). Onto the service. When we first sat down, we were not given water. We asked for water, and waited another 10-15 minutes, had to ask again only to find out they were "waiting for cups" even though we had cups from the tea already. There is also no bathroom available for customers to use, which is disappointing given we are sipping on tea the whole afternoon. For the afternoon tea set itself, I was pretty disappointed by the savory selection. The cake sale were super dry, and the salmon toast was nothing special. Only the sandwich was nice because of how refreshing it is. The sweet selection on the top tier was also subpar, only the scone was nice since it was moist and had nuts. The other sweet selections were a bit too sweet and dense. Lastly, we got some tea cookies on the side. These were actually the highlight of the whole set -- the lemon lavender tea cookies were fragrant and citrusy and the walnut cookies had a nice nutty texture and flavor. I found this place on TikTok and, it did not disappoint! I paid a steep almost $100 for the cake I got which was said to feed around 7 to 9 people, it probably fed more if you can cut it into small enough pieces. I just wish that I got the bigger one ha ha. The cake was worth every penny, and the packaging was very nice and well thought out. None of the sides were touching the box, and the cake was perfectly unscathed, even though I took it on the subway home with me the actual ambience of the bakery itself is a little bit cramped and a little dark inside. I wouldn't really recommend going there, unless you could snag the outside table, even so, it is just small, but that is New York City real estate for you! I love how there is a huge glass window so you can see the back and what is actually happening behind the scenes. You could see a lot of of the bakers and the trays that go to make the beautiful little cakes that they store out in the front. The marbling on all the cakes they have is just beautiful and I love how they also have some coffee options, I rly. wanted to get a Matcha latte, (it was ~ eight dollars) but maybe next time ! i also heard that they offer a class which is super cool. We went for afternoon tea to AnnTremet Cake. They had two sets available: the regular and the Christmas set. We settled for the regular since we didn't want the hot chocolate or pay the extra money. They brought out the Christmas set by mistake, so we ended up eating that. The two sets are pretty similar, so we didn't have any complaints. The bites were all standard, but I wish they included more savory bites since the set comes with three cakes in addition to the sweet bites. Another thing that could be better is the environment. I found their cakes to be incredibly well presented and equally tasty, but their drinks to be less than stellar. Would highly recommend their cakes! (Raspberry Lychee: 110% | S) - This cake is silkily creamy and lusciously smooth. I love the intensity of the fruit flavors that come through and with some smart textural plays with the garnish. Mirror cakes are something that I've been amazed with recently and I'm glad that they taste as good as they look. Some of these type of cakes are only filled with mousse, which is mainly air, but I felt that this was nicely done with enough cake and texture to give substance. Warning: They don't have bathrooms available for customers. I wish I knew this before I came in. Putting this on top because it's the reason why this place doesn't have four star review or more. What kind of cafe offers a sit down experience without a bathroom? I understand if it's just a tiny cafe that specializes in quick coffee catch ups and takeaway pastries, but even the tiniest cafes I've been to had a closet sized bathroom available. Like others stated, very affordable afternoon tea experience with $39/p with pretty great cakes and savory items. I really enjoyed all of the savory breads that were offered and the heart shaped mango mousse cake. We got rose black tea, which was also delicious. Everything else was fine, the tiered tray was a little wobbly. It felt like the food was 5 stars but the amenities were 2 stars. Overall review: ehh.... It's ok. All of the pieces that incorporated lavender were so well balanced and I loved that they used actual lavender instead of lavender syrup. We were a group of three and got to choose two large pots of tea (jasmine and lavender honey) and 4 mousse cakes. The mousse cakes were a little too much for us at the end so we brought those home with us. The black sesame one was my favorite!
