Went to Ladyhawk on a Thursday night. Menu and build out looked great. When I checked in they told me that I had booked a patio seat which I had showed them through Resy was not the case. They then proceeded to tell us the table would be ready shortly and that they would take good care of us. Long story short, 5 minutes turned into 45, service was terrible, and the food was subpar given the other options that you have right around the corner. Would not recommend and would not be surprised if these are they're last few months. read more

I love how you feel the Lebanon cuisine, but I have the trendy culture of LA. It is a perfect mix. This is what we ordered and it was delicious. We had the Babaghanouj, Muhammara, Batata Harra, Za'atar Man'oushe, spicy Hummus, ahi tuna, and the shawarma steak with a side of carats. The dessert was insanely good too. Went there with a group of 10, and even with our large party our service, food and atmosphere were all a 10 out of 10. Loved loved the large family style mezze spread! every bite was delicious and artfully presented! The pita was heavenly. I have eaten all sorts of Middle Eastern food worldwide and in hundreds of homes. The food here is awful. The falafel was dense and tasteless. The grilled shrimp was overcooked. The heirloom tomato salad was just a predictable, simple tomato salad with an uninspiring sauce. The fattoush had zero spices. The babaganoush was good but nothing special. The harissa chicken wings were dry -- you had to seriously chew! This place is a fraud -- it's trying to take simple food that has been tasty for millennia and pretend that it can make it nouveau so they can charge more money. They utterly flopped. Save your money and go to Carnival and Sunnin. I will say that the ambiance is nice and low key. But that's the only good thing that I can say about such a stupid place. read more

Balance of flavor! Gracious service! Chill vibe! We came on night 2, and it felt like year 2 with how smoothly everything ran. The zaatar manoush to start was inspired by chef's Top Chef Lebanese flag dish and the dough was perfect and textures balanced. We also loved the potato mezze which was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. My favorite was the duck that was so lightly tinged with honey and rose. What an amazing restaurant!!! This is a hidden gem that won't be hidden for very long. The chef uses all of his mothers recipes ( delicious) and adds a California flare to it. I can't wait to come back with more friends so we can try more things. We had the chicken which was incredibly moist and flavored deliciously along with an appetizer of perfectly fried cauliflower - We wanted to try so much more so we will definitely be coming back soon with friends. Extremely over priced for what is essentially decent fast food middle eastern. Every neighboring restaurant had lines of people waiting for a table, but this place was empty. Tiny egg dish for $23? Cocktails for over $20 too. You get one small pita for the table to share for the hummus and then $5 for an extra pita. $20 to eat hummus is insane. There were only 5 or so mains but they were out of chicken, which was what most of our table wanted - restaurant was empty too meaning this place just isn't stocking up on basic supplies like CHICKEN. I wish I could leave them less than one star. When you walk in, the restaurant looks beautiful, that's probably the only positive thing I can say. You sit down service is terribly slow, waiter is running around and never gets around to you. Once you order the food takes over an hour and still never arrives. First thing that arrived to the table was hummus that tasted like regular store bought hummus and pita (extra pita is $5 and isn't all that) 20 minutes later *cold* potatoes arrive to the table- at this point I'm actually livid... I complain they bring new potatoes.. 45 mins go by and still no lamb chops or carrots or they special zatar bread (zatar manoushe) they said we had to get... we ended up canceling dinner that we sat and waiting for.. it gets crazier!! Manager who obviously never managed a restaurant before comes and apologizes for how long it took, said the staff keeps quitting and that's why they're so behind, asked if we wanted to stay, obviously not. He said he would take care of what we got and to give us a minute, keep this in mind we wanted to just pay and leave... he comes back and HAS THE NERVE TO CHARGE ME. We were a group of 8. All of us at the end of the evening got stomach aches and diarrhea. The reservation was for 8:45, they set us down at 9:15 and the food arrived after 10pm. The food was very oily, the fish smelled and the desserts were horrible. The only thing we liked was the the fries. The waitress didn't have much patience for us and every time we had a question she left the table pretending not hearing us. Also, she forgot to bring the salads. We ended up canceling them.the mint tea arrived with water and 2 mint leaves so after we complained they brought us more leaves. Overall bad experience! read more

The brunch was comical it was so bad. Service and atmosphere was wonderful which is a shame. Zero flavor and truly was like they went to the gas station for ingredients and put it on a plate. Our server Luis was extremely attentive and gave great recommendations. I loved most of the food. The cabbage by far stood out the most as it's a vegetable rarely featured on menus. The batata harra had great texture and flavor. The carrots very good as well. The crudo was good as was the spicy hummus. I personally didn't care for the man'oushe and felt the shawarma needed bread. It was served more like sliced steak, loved the date cheesecake but not the rice pudding.
