    white rice and plantain

Nigerian here! I love trying new Nigerian restaurants so when I drove past Lagos Buka I knew I had to try it. I walked in and ordered. The food is served ala carte, with no wait as the food is already prepared. I appreciate this structure because many Nigerian restaurants I've been to feature a very long wait. In all fairness, I recognize not everyone will love the food being prepared, but in my opinion, the quality does not suffer from it. I paid nearly $49 and ordered Afang soup (not pictured) which came with a free swallow. I also ordered Iya's Desire (I'd never had anything like this before and wanted to try it) it came with white rice and I asked for plantain. Finally I ordered assorted meat stew-- for which I was charged double for wanting tripe and tendon. I thought it didn't make much sense but I still paid for it. The portion sizes were not bad, however the stews/ soups have a lot of oil but that tends to be the nature of Nigerian food. I loved everything I ate from here. I would recommend, and I would come back if I am in this area again.

Having never had Nigerian before, Tenyi M. was amazing about explaining each dish and its flavor profile. Before offering samples, she asked about any food allergies and what I liked. Everything I sampled was full of flavor but I decided on the Asun (spicy / peppered goat), Smokey Jollof Rice, and Zobo (hibiscus drink) . All items are à la carte. So glad I stepped out of my comfort zone today and tried the Nigerian / Naija cusine. Support local businesses like Lagos Buka!! 4031 FM 1463 #80, Katy, TX 77494 281-394-5244 lagosbuka.com

I came around 5pm and the selection of food was not good. I ordered Jollof rice and fried rice with assorted meat and goat meat. The meat I was given (goat) was all bones and the server even said it wasn't a good day. None of my food was hot or warm so I'm confused as to if I dined in would my food have been fresh or microwaved for me. Out of all the food I received the assorted meat was good in taste and so was the jollof rice. I could tell the fried rice was old and not made fresh at all. I did enjoy the taste of those 2 things but I had to go home and warm it to eat it because I attempt to eat it in my truck as soon as I got it.

I'm giving a 3 star because why in the world are you guys serving food that is not even warm. Serving food that is barley room temperature is wild to me. Everything is like buffet style so when you order you just pick from what is already there. I ordered asun which is spicy goat meat and it was flavorful and spicy, egusi soup was good too and I added tripe " they charge everything separately . The service also could have been better but I looked passed that part my only concern is the freshness of the food , if I wanted to eat my food there are you guys giving me cold food as well ? I seen other reviews say the same thing maybe you guys should work on getting better heat lamps .

To be fair I went here before and the food was better. I ordered Ayamase, Iya Desire Sauce, fried rice, with beef because that's all of the protein that was available at the time. These people charged me $77. It is insane the cost of food for lunch for two people. Food was cold and quality was worse than the time I was here last time. I hope they read this and realize that this is unacceptable. How do you buy designer stew for $12.49 and still pay for white rice $6.49? You call something Iya Desire sauce and charge someone $18.99 plus $6.49 for white rice again. If I went next door to the Vietnamese restaurant I could order 5 dishes and will not spend $77. If I go to Wazobia and the same rice you are charging $6.49, I'll get it for $1.50. How much is a bag of Rice self.

Well this is my go-to brunch spot to bring all my out-of-towners. I can't believe I don't still…read morehave a review posted in the system! Let me start by saying I've been here multiple, multiple times & I've never had any food items that weren't good. I always get breakfast (even if it's lunch time) so I don't know much about the lunch items. Not only is the food outstanding with a creative twist, it's consistent. Over the years, the place has expanded several times so now there is a decent amount of dine-in seating in addition to the outdoor seating. The place still stays packed but with their wait list in advance/text notification system & efficiency in seating customers, if there is a wait things move along smoothly. Additionally, anyone who is waiting knows it's worth the wait!! The service staff are friendly. The atmosphere is homey & they decorate for the various holidays & seasons. Owner/chef Lori is always walking around asking guests if everything is ok. On at least 2 occasions she happened to chat with me/my guest about some dietary restrictions & she whipped something up for us to try. My go-to dish is the harvest breakfast where you can pick 4 breakfast items from a list. This is a great way to sample more menu items. Here's my take on some of my favorites: - Sourdough pancakes are thin & really delicious. - Belgium Leige waffle is very sweet with the pearl sugar "nuggets" in them so taste them before you add a lot of syrup. - Scrambled eggs are well seasoned, not bland. - Avocado & tomato or the fresh fruit are nice light touches as one of the side item choices. - Fried chicken tenders are really good. Spice level 3 (medium) is not that spicy. It's flavorful. - Grilled chicken tenders are good. As much as I typically eat grilled or baked chicken, I allow myself to choose fried for these. - Grits are creamy. I get them with no cheese. I'm not a big grits person but I do like these! The menu is very extensive. It includes vegan, vegetarian, keto & gluten free. Is the breakfast a little pricey, the answer is "it's all relative." Sometimes it's just worth paying for a great meal. In case you haven't gotten the message, Harvest Kitchen is a must try. Do yourself a favor & have a visit. I'm betting it will stay on your list as a repeat eating spot!! Tips: - Use the text message wait list & signup before you leave your house. - You can always get 1 pancake on the side for $5. - 15% gratuity is included at checkout, as you pay you'll get options for an additional % or custom % like 0%, 3, 5% or more.

We decided to try this place out for the first time because we were in the area and wanted to dine somewhere with good vegetarian or vegan options. So we decided to try the burgers during this trip. I will say this, I will never order another burger at this restaurant. We are huge fans of fresh hamburgers, and we always try them at most restaurants that we go to. So we got a Hickory burger, a bacon cheeseburger, and a regular cheeseburger. All of our burgers were well done to the point that they were hard to chew and they were not tasty. Normally at this restaurant, food comes out very quickly, but this time it did take a little longer and now I know why. I was very disappointed in all of the burgers and how they were really way too well done. The restaurant was super busy and we should've said something, but we did not because we had been waiting so long. We just did not want to wait any longer. The french fries were super hot and fresh, I will give them that. I think at this point, we will stick to the chicken tenders because those are super good, but the burgers were not good at all. Again, we really enjoy this restaurant, but we are going to stick to what we normally order. If you order a burger at Mia's table, make sure you tell them that you want it done medium, and not well done. Other than this experience, we have always loved the food there and you get free ice cream after your meal. We highly recommend the chicken tenders and the baked beans are phenomenal. The green beans are great. The banana pudding is great and the staff is super friendly.

Placed my order and the food came out quickly. The peach cobbler French toast was delicious and layered with flavor. The bread was still firm and not mushy, the microgreens and nuts added flavor and the caramel sauce wasn't too sweet or overpowering. The bacon was smoky and not fatty. The option for a French press for coffee was a nice treat and the addition of the Basil Hayden Bourbon shot was just right. Briana definitely lived up to her name of "The Goat" consistently mixing 2 to 3 drinks at a time while remaining friendly and engaging with her colleagues and customers. Brandon was a joy engaging with the customers at the bar and not missing a beat. Apparently, they have a random assortment of coffee cups and Brandon accurately chose mine. It really made me laugh. She took our drink orders, food orders and then everything seemed to fall apart. She returned several times, but mentioned that she was tied up handling several large drink orders and that was the last we saw of her. The food was delivered by other servers. As you can see, the fried catfish fillets were burnt on the outside, but the fish was undercooked inside and had raw (uncooked) portions inside. Not a pleasant surprise. We later learned that Lexus had left for the day and we were left on our own, so to speak. No drink refills for the nearly three hours we were there. Finally, we had to get up and find someone to help us and get our checks. When I was able to pay I requested a receipt, which I never received. Lastly, when we were leaving, someone was mopping the walkway and left puddles of water in the walk, which posed a slip hazard for our group of elderly individuals. When we told a server about the water in the walkway, she told us that she knew it was wet, because she just mopped it. Not an answer you want to hear. All in all, a very unimpressive experience.
