3 1/2 stars. Had dinner here mid-week. I was unimpressed that my waiter wasn't wearing anything resembling a uniform in the slightest, he looked like a soccer fan. But I'm here for the food, right? I had the Lobster Ravioli Carbonara, a good-sized plate with over a half-dozen two-bite pastas, 'crispy pancetta' (which had the mouth feel of little croutons), peas and cherry tomatoes. It just didn't rise to the occasion. My waiter suggested pairing it with Garlic Knots, which sounded like a good idea. It wasn't. The Knots bore no resemblance to 'knots', they were very plain rolls, with little savory, garlic or Parmesan, served blisteringly hot from the oven. I wrapped with the Pistachio Mousse, which is actually a chocolate mousse with pistachio bits on top. Decent. Service was good. read more

I'm in town for a conference and didn't want to order Uber eats again so on the third night I caved and went to Laguna Restaurant and bar on site of the hotel even though I saw the Yelp reviews and photos... I sat down and service was lovely. Manuel was very attentive and I appreciated his good service. After taking a look again at photos I decided I just can't risk it being not good so I'll just keep it simple and just get a spinach artichoke dip. How bad can that be? It was sooo bland. It tasted like it came in a container from the frozen section of the grocery store and they just nuked it with some fakey cheese on top. It was served with some circle pitas that were toasted but upon trying were stale. So disappointed but also not because I had set expectations ahead of time. I had a forced a few bites out of hunger and browsed uber eats at the table to have delivered to my room. Also I was given dirty silverware that had dried food on it and when I asked the hostess for another set I was given another water stained set. read more

So this is just your very typical hotel restaurant. The highlights of the dining experience were definitely the beautiful weather out on the patio for evening dining and the very talented musician providing us live music! Our server Manny was very kind and attentive! The food was meh. The double helping of the burrata flatbread we chose for our starter was not cut for us and had no burrata. We struggled to cut it up between us with our butter knives and it just had some liquidy burrata essence on top instead of dollops or chunks. The best part was the pickled red onions. I ordered the pork chop for my meal which would definitely have been tasty if it were not overcooked and dry. I rarely order pork as I am painfully aware that most people overcook it because they are afraid of food poisoning. My polenta was really good but my brussel sprouts weren't cooked all the way through, they were still hard. Sad but still a fun evening thanks to the music man! read more

I ordered the Ropa Vieja Trio Tacos to go. The taco meat was good but there was hardly any of the pickled onions or most of the toppings as described. It was just a mess of meat and cheese with a couple onions. I didn't walk far from the restaurant to my villa and it had already gotten extremely soggy so it was difficult to eat. The bartender was nice and friendly. The restaurant itself is nice and quiet. I also ordered the chips and salsa. Some of the chips were stale. The salsa tasted like picante sauce from a jar. Laguna is the restaurant located in the DoubleTree by Hilton. The staff here are extremely friendly and professional and thevplace has a nice enough ambiance. This restaurant is located just off of the back patio and an overall decent enough hotel restaurant. We had the breakfast buffet here and it was pretty much your standard hotel breakfast buffet. I had some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes (basically home fries) and I added sausage gravy over everything. I also had toast and coffee. Our server made sure that our coffee mugs were kept filled and all in all, our breakfast was a decent enough experience. Remember that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and Laguna provided a fine start to our day. If you are here at the DoubleTree by Hilton, make sure that you grab breakfast here. read more

I'd recommend leaving a tip for the wait staff since they are there to offer drinks and clean up the tables. Our server was super friendly and accommodating by bringing us some Cholula hot sauce, almond butter (I guess they don't have peanut butter) and almond milk all complementary upon request. After a dilemma checking into the hotel here, we opted to stay in for dinner and discovered Laguna. We asked to be seated outside away from the live music and they easily accommodated us. We waited and waited for a server, and finally reached out to a server passing by. She felt so bad that she said she would take care of us, and that she did. Ingrid turned out to be an amazing server and thoroughly enhanced our dining experience. The menu is fairly limited, but there is enough for everyone. We settled on the nacho appetizer and a few Yuenglings to start. It was happy hour so the beer was only $3.50. We ordered 4 at once since happy hour was over in 15 minutes. Once the nachos arrived, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The nacho platter was huge, and at first I was underwhelmed as it just looked like a bit of cheese melted on top. When we moved the cheese, there was tons of chili underneath and it was all super yummy. I wished I hadn't even ordered the sandwich as these were filling, and I really liked them. They were hot, and there was plenty for 4 people to share (but we were only 2) Next, the burger and fries came. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crunchy. Ingrid continued to check in on us and make sure we were happy. I don't give 5 stars out all the time, but this dining experience definitely deserved it. read more

Atmosphere - Good. Located in the Doubletree Hotel, the restaurant is relatively small. There are about a dozen located on an outside patio with a garden view. There was a person playing guitar and singing classical rock songs. Service - Outstanding! Our server ((Ingrid) has a great personality and made us feel welcome. She was very attentive and made our evening after having experienced a horrible check-in process. Food - Very Good. The menu is very limited and is for the most part offers pub-like food. We started with an order of loaded nachos and a couple of beers (they have a HappyHour selection). They were huge and excellent. I then ordered the Carnitas Tacos and they were very tasty. This place was very tropical. It is inside the Doubletree Hilton hotel . It is at the back of the hotel . The restaurant is on the terrace which was beautifully decorated. We're seated quickly and our server tried to answer any questions we had. When the food was served, it was pictured perfect. I thought I was eating like a chef from Food Network. One of our entrees was the sweet and spicy ribs served with Parmesan fried that was Devine, excellent taste along with coleslaw. Second entree was key West shrimp and scallops served with pasta. The shrimps were quite nice size along with the scallops. You could see what you were eating and not have to dig for them. The plates were unique in design The food had lots of color. This place has one of the sweetest waiters (shout-out to Michael)! Thank you for taking care of our table! However, everything cooked here was all over cooked. We got the lobster ravioli, New York steak(medium),the chicken sandwich and the salmon. Everything felt super dry while eating but besides the overcooked, they all had a good balance in flavors! I highly recommend for you to get the guava bbq chicken flatbread (alittle on the sweet side due to the pineapples but so so good!) as well as their sweet potato fries! Nope Nope Nope. Didn't have the best experience here - came as a team with my coworkers after a busy day of meetings. I'll be honest and say I did not choose the location where we'd have dinner and none of us really expected to end up at a restaurant in a hotel (nothing against it and we've had some awesome food in hotel restaurants but we just weren't expecting it). The food was...odd. I think would be the easiest way to explain it - I was intrigued by the Tiki Tower...yea that was not...good. I don't even remember what else was ordered beyond some pretzels and assorted appetizers. And the liquor selection wasn't great. Overall was a disappointing dinning experience. Especially as where we were staying (different hotel/resort) had some pretty good food options. One good thing, our server was awesome and did their best to take care of us and our large party so that's a win. read more

As far as hotel restaurants go, Laguna does not disappoint! I stayed at the Doubletree for a conference in February, and over the course of a couple days I had breakfast here a few times, happy hour once and dinner once. The breakfast buffet was very good. It came with my hotel room so I can't comment on the cost, but the options are plentiful, so it seems like it would be a good deal. I really enjoyed the made-to-order omelets, and everything else was tasty, too: from pastries to breakfast potatoes to multiple bacon and sausage options. They were generous with the unlimited coffee. The patio outside is great for dinner. They have some good drink specials, including some Florida beers on tap. For dinner, I had the seafood chopped salad. At $17, it wasn't a cheap dinner, but it was more than worth it (see photo). They were generous with the seafood including crab, shrimp and smoked salmon, PLUS delicious heirloom tomatoes, several slices of avocado, and plentiful blue cheese. I couldn't finish all of it, but wish I could have. If you are staying at the Doubletree or just find yourself needing dinner anywhere near the convention center, Laguna is a solid choice. read more

Excellent!!! Laguna located at the Doubletree exceeded customer service and our wildest thought of the word fresh fish. We had visited a local sports fishing charter at Port Canaveral , we caught 4 large King Mackerel fish. We asked the hotel staff if the Laguna restaurant could prepare and cook our meal for a party of nine, they said yes no problem. I can't say thank You enough to Executive Chef Nicole Cohee and her staff for the most delicious meal I've ever experienced with fresh fish. They prepared the fish in three manners, breaded, pan fried and blackened . The sides were grilled asparagus, grilled peppers, Rice pilaf and site baked chocolate cake. The restaurant went above and beyond all measure of accommodation and presentation, this evenings meal was not on the menu, Chef Nicole's talent was 5 stars and her 10 years experience does her no justice. I received exceptional service at the Bar by Lyold and let me tell you his bar service was on point. He refilled my drink without me having to call to him, gave me extra clean plates and was very attentive to me as a guest. The food was great, the lemon pepper and mango habaNero wings was juicy and saucy and I loved my burger and side salad I ordered as well. I was only here for a day because I had a 10hour layover but because of their great service If I ever travel to Flordia for a vacation I will be booking my stay here because of the service , great hospitality, you really don't have to leave off the property to enjoy yourself. read more

The Full breakfast buffet is at least 4 stars. Lots to choose from and made to order omelettes, eggs and waffles. You can also order off the menu. Lunch and dinner is 3 stars at best. My 14 dollar club sandwich was horrible and I only got service after talking to a manager. It wasnt crowded. Service is better at breakfast. I was surprised to see other options available at the pool bar. Appertizers were poor and few choices. They gave you a free 11 dollar appertizer with an entree. Most were higher and the two less i would never order. Being the main restaurant I would expect a better menu. If you have time take the trolley and go elsewhere for lunvh or dinner. I am guessing the full breakfast is 20 bucks. Hilton elite like me get it for free. read more

Stopped in for late night dinner/snacks after a long day at the parks. This place has a great variety on their menu and perfect for everyone including the kiddos. Everything was great except for Armando he was an absolutely awful and rude server, with a complete lack of ability to do simple math equations ( having to triple check my ID to make sure I was 21, eventually having to pull out his calculator in order to solve the impossible conundrum that is math. During our entire experience we were making an attempt to enjoy ourselves but the luminous shadow of Armando was casted over us and our meals, in constant fear of the impending return of Armando and his poor attitude and unrelenting need to rush us through our dining experience. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this sleek, modern restaurant in the center of this somewhat dowdy hotel. I have eaten in a lot of hotel restaurants in my travels and Laguna's menu was more interesting than most. I ate two meals there and at both we started a delicious shrimp appetizer. I could not take pics of the food or menu as I was always out for business, so I do not remember the exact name of the dish, but it was delicious. The shrimp were cooked perfectly in a slightly spicy salsa type of sauce. It was served with crostini for dipping. At dinner I ordered the Scallops and Grits. The scallops were perfectly blackened and the cheese grits were creamy and decadent. My colleague ordered the Caribbean Spiced Florida Mahi. Served with red potatoes, asparagus, tomatoes, and mango salsa, she thought it was excellent. At lunch I ordered the Seafood Cobb Salad-decent, but not as great as it looked on paper. The shrimp were the tiniest baby shrimp with no flavor. The dish arrived with no crab as described. The smoked salmon and avocado were both good. I also ordered room service. All of the room service items are on Laguna's menu and I believe they come from the same kitchen. The Italian Wedding Soup was excellent, savory and flavorful. I also ordered hummus which was so fresh you could really taste those garbanzos. Overall, Laguna is a good choice for a meal, whether you eat in your room or downstairs, if you are staying at this Doubletree. However, I would not go out of your way to seek this place out if staying at another hotel. read more

Made a very last-minute reservation here when a nearby restaurant lost our reservation for our (birthday) party of 16 people (!) Laguna not only accommodated us, but found us a semi-private area in which to celebrate. The server and crew were impressively efficient for a big party, and the food was REALLY GOOD. It wasn't as fancy as what we'd planned, but it was so tasty and well-cooked that we were at least as happy at Laguna than we would have been at the first restaurant. Got it Togo for later but when I tried it there was no flavor and tasted chalky and not edible. Maybe I'll try a different dessert next time.
