Almost always an excellent choice, the portions are great, especially the airport locations. Tender delicious and pleasently seasoned home style cooking. Certainly an airport employee top pick. If you take this food on your flight be careful, plenty of au juice and gravy can make a mess but is guaranteed to make everyone sitting near you in the plane reeling with envy. Most of the meats are so tender that you can cut them with a fork. Asked for one margarita and one beef pizza. When they handed me the pizzas they told me that I ordered two margarita pizzas. I clarified for them what I ordered. They told me I was wrong. I then asked for my correct order. They then handed me a margarita pizza and a sausage pizza. Told me that is what I get so just take it. Guess the customer is not always right. We got the pork+chicken combo for about $14, which I thought was way-reasonable for the food quality and quantity. The roast pork was truly amazing - so good it reminded me of my Mom's: slightly crispy- tender, well seasoned bark surrounding melt in your mouth hunks of delicious meat.... and super tender roast chicken... accompanied by good fried rice with pieces of scrambled egg, green beans and carrots, and a scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy (the type of creamy probably instant kind that reminded me, sort of pleasantly, of public school lunch). My daughters' combo had fried chx instead of roasted, and all that was left were bones, so it must've been good. I was walking around Honolulu International Airport looking for something to bring on my flight home. I didn't really want a sandwich so I was happy to find this place. The 1/4 DARK MEAT CHICKEN plate was a generous portion of juicy chicken and a choice of three sides. I chose the corn and two different steamed assorted veggies. I picked up a 1/2 roast chicken (rotisserie) with three sides (corn, green beans, and carrots) $11.95 per meal, will feed two adults. Best place to eat, easily wins my money over the other fast food choices here in the airport. The restaurant is located across from the inter-island TSA security checkpoint, next to the other eateries and news stand. This is a 10-15 minute walk from the other terminals (mainland and international flights). read more

Found this place in the Honolulu International Airport when I was heading back to the Mainland. After seeing the pictures of the roasted chicken on the billboards, I HAD to try it. I ordered the 1/2 Roasted Chicken, Mashed Potato and Gravy and Corn.. this has got to be the best roasted chicken I ever had... it was very, very juicy and had a lot of flavor. If there was a Lahaina Chicken Company in the Mainland, I'm sure KFC would go out of business! I'll be sure to let my friends try this restaurant when I go back to Hawaii. Never really thought I would enjoy prime rib from an airport eatery. The prime rib came with mash potatoes, and two sides - we got peas and corn (for my daughter). For airport food this is the place to go. There is a huge line and it's near the other food outlets at Honolulu airport - the line is worth the wait. A variety of sides peas, corn, rice, coleslaw and others but the hot meats are the draw. Grilled bbq chicken, roast pork, roast beef and fried chicken. I had the grilled chicken with peas and salad (and a little coleslaw... weird combination I know but I was desperate for greens after flying all day). Great and tasty. Best airport food ever. Not sure how the line for this place is so short compared to the fast food place next door (since it was in the airport, the fast food places were definitely overpriced). This place is decently priced for the quality of meat given. I got the roast pork and prime rib combo with mac salad, peas, and fried rice with gravy on the side. I mainly got this meal for my kids to eat on the airplane as we flew home. My husband was envious as he was full from overpriced pizza at the previous airport in Kahului. I'm glad they had mac salad since I really wanted some before we left the island. I should have gotten a side of it because my kids ate most of it, and I probably should have got another plate since my husband at all the prime rib on the plane. He said the gravy was delicious btw. I saw one review mentioning grabbing a plate before a flight out, and yes, I would definitely recommend that as well. It far surpasses any airline meal you would get. OMG... This place is incredibly DELICIOUS!! I ordered the half chicken, the meat was insanely moist that did not need a knife, it fell off the bone. It was seasoned to perfection. I felt like we were having a home cooked meal, not at the Honolulu International Airport. Especially after the wait in line through security checkpoint and scanning. My hubbie and I were SO thankful for a meal that was not fast food. We normally don't eat rice, but each of us had the rice, steamed green beans and corn. The area for food service was immaculate, with hand sanitizers for all to use. It was a nice touch to know everyone coming through wasn't depositing their "yuck". California should take a hint... just saying. The lady who helped us was genuinely friendly, helpful and even suggested to get a different bottle water that was a better price for the same amount!! That's service. We did not eat at the community food tables that are shared between Lahaina Chicken Co, Starbucks, and the Italian Pasta food court. Which is serviced most likely by the airport itself. So I would not want to judge it cleanliness for the common area. We enjoyed our amazing meal on the aircraft, which made our flight seem like we were in "first class" just for a moment!!! I had the absolute worst experience at this Lahaina Chicken . Employee Mel was completely disrespectful. When we asked for a different type of chicken upon realizing the mushroom chicken was covered in white gravy we were met with anger and disrespect. My sister has a dairy allergy and would not be able to eat the mushroom chicken. When we asked for a different type of chicken and kindly explained that we didn't realize it would be covered in gravy, Mel started yelling at my sister telling her she needed to speak for herself and not have me speak for her (which was my choice to do and that is OKAY!) she then completely embarrassed my sister by continuing to yell at her in front of all the guests about how she couldn't believe she was going to make her do that. She then continued to THROW the new plate towards my sister in anger and had it not stopped at the very end of the counter, it would have ended up spilling all over us. I was nothing but kind when asking for an allergy accommodation, and was met with so much disrespect. I don't believe you should treat any human that way especially a customer! My sister left crying due to the mistreatment she experienced from Mel. I hope something is done to make this situation right. Mel was also rude to the customers in front of us. Best airport food tasted. My bf and I were flying out of Honolulu, and the security guard at the airport recommended it to us. Each meat item (roast chicken, roast pork, barbecue babyback rib, etc.) came with 3 sides (rice, mixed vegetables, peas or cole slaw). Similar in concept and execution to Boston Market, Lahaina Chicken did not disappoint. Featuring roasted and fried chicken as well uas roast pork, ribs and prime rib...yes prime rib, LC is hard to beat for quality food at this or any other airport. With 3 sides to complement the chicken, pork or beef you are guaranteed a full stomach coma for the minimum 6 hour ride back to the mainland! I enjoyed the pork and prime rib combo, both freshly carved when I ordered. The mashed potatoes had freshly made consistency and density with a dopping of hearty brown gravy. There are a number of other options but the mashed potatoes should be your anchor side. My companion had the roasted chicken and was immensely satisfied. Lahaina Chicken has my highest endorsement and I will seek it out the next time to Hawaii. read more

Food tasted like fresh home cooked food I had Prime Rib and Pork combo. Other review said try the macaroni salad. I usually don't like it, this was really good. Our plane started boarding already but we wanted to grab something before we got on the plane. We saw Lahaina Chicken and Burger King and decided to give this a try instead of fast food. Airport food... not typically something to look forward to. However, my 1 1/2 hour delay sure seemed better when sharing the Ribeye Roast and the Baby Back Ribs plates. Yes the hot vegetables were something out of a school cafeteria and the salad was iceberg lettuce, but the meats were moist, tasty and tender. I always plan my trip home to the mainland by eating here at the airport. The prime rib is excellent along with mashed potatoes, vegetables and salad. It is served cafeteria style so you get your food very quickly. The employees have always been so friendly. And the prices are one of the bargains in Honolulu.
