For a 1st timer to this joint here at the HNL airport, I can't express how RUDE the server was. I understand that it gets busy from time to time, but it was barely a line, and I just couldn't understand why she felt the need to rush, yell at us while taking our order. First off, I wasn't given a chance to look at the menu...at least not enough time to look at what was available. Anyone with any sense would help us by going over what is most popular. Instead, it was "Fried chicken or grilled?" Or, "Maam! What are your 3 sides?" Just yelling! I usually would respond back with a smart remark, but I was with my mom. Didn't want her to worry, or get worked up over anything. The food may be great, but if the service is horrible, the owner could lose customers. I will not come back to this place. HORRIBLE service. We were treated rudely when asking for a simple order - a chicken salad. You would have thought we'd asked her to prepare baked Alaska. After 7 minutes of waiting for her to finish the first salad, we then ordered another, simpler one - the garden greens - to be told that there WAS NO MORE SALAD LEFT when I could clearly see that there was. Whew. Wasn't sure I'd find this place but we did!Found helpful airport staff that directed us to Lahaina by Gate 22. We were fortunate to make it b4 it closed at 8:30 pm but the food and friendly staff there were great! We had the Roast chicken and beef of course with mashed potatoes and gravy with two other sides for a total of $16.00. One meal enough for the two of us! So yummy! read more

Thanks to the yelp reviews for steering us here. With a long layover we needed comfort in the form of a hot meal. We splurged the extra .40 cents for a breast piece of rotisserie chicken and had pork. The chicken had a yummy herb rub and both were still moist even though it was almost closing time. The staff was ok friendly and assisted us in our food selection. We split a two meat plate, comes with three sides. The mashed potatoes are instant and the gravy seemed the same but they were good, so who cares? The green beans and peas were a little over cooked but still tasty. The meal was approximately $15 the standard for airport food. The portion was large enough to split to be somewhat satisfying but I think I would have to get my own if I was starving. I'm giving five stars because it hit the spot and I'm so happy I didn't have to eat Burger King or Quiznos! read more

Fast food counter at the airport that serves fried chicken, roast chicken, roast pork and roast beef with sides. I tried the roast pork and fried chicken with corn and mashed potatoes. The roast pork was tasty, soft and crispy skin. The fried chicken was ok. The skin was crispy and meat was fine although there wasn't much taste. I had the combo of roast pork and chicken. Considering there weren't many other choices in the terminal that I was in, this wasn't bad. After coming straight out from the security checkpoint, this place was right in front of us. We decided to check it out and show a whole rotisserie chicken, ribs, and roast ribeye and we're completely salivating. Even the security personnel was like this place is a must try. The roast rib eye was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The rotisserie chicken was so soft and yummy. The sides were great too. We got the mashed potatoes, macaroni salad (very mayo-y), buttered corn, fried rice, and steamed vegetables. Airport food was surprisingly good! The seating area was okay, a bit of a mess and dirty. I like how there is hand sanitizer stations available everywhere though, that'd be awesome if CA would have that. read more

I wasn't expecting much, but ended up really liking the fried chicken plate at Lahaina! The fried chicken was fresh and really crispy. And the portions....huge! I chose the mac salad, mashed potatoes, and corn as sides... all solid choices. Maybe I was hungry, but this place took care of my hunger and kept me full on the plane. WOW!! The fried chicken is so delicious. Reminded me of the way my grandma used to make her chicken. I ordered this dish with rice, we were in HI, of course everything goes with rice, and a side of beans. The server was very friendly and best of all I had a great meal prior to boarding a long flight home. read more

I give this place 4/5 stars because I am comparing it to what else is immediately available in terms of fast, ready-to-go food at the Honolulu International Airport in the inter-island terminal. This plate was ~$11.00 and I got a decent portion of meat. You have the option of getting roasted or fried chicken, or you can pay more and get half a chicken or upgrade to prime rib. This plate also gave me a choice of three sides. There are about eight to choose from and as you can see by the photo, this is definitely a pretty filling meal. For the price, this place definitely out-competes the other options, like over priced Burger King, the sit down restaurants, or paying $9.50 for a small personal pan pizza (which is not even a Pizza Hut for that matter!). The roasted chicken may have been over cooked a little, since some pieces were a little tough. Overall, it was a decent piece of seasoned chicken and a very satisfying meal. I will definitely hit this place up when I'm back in the Honolulu Airport. read more

Greatest airport food EVER! I am a frequent traveler and have been in a hundred airports and this is the best food I have ever had the pleasure of eating on the plane. We had pork roast and roasted chicken with mash potatoes, mixed veggies, and a garden salad. They were so nice when we wanted extra dressing and horseradish. The total bill was only $16.01! Went to the Ala Moana location a few days earlier and enjoyed our food. So when we arrived at the airport we decided to to go the Lahaina Chicken Company again and grab some food before we flew back to CA. I'm writing this review for the location actually inside the airport. This past week I had to catch an overnight flight to Dallas and wanted to have something filling and delicious (because I knew a sandwich wouldn't cut it - especially when they're $8 or $9). So I checked it out (haven't gone to the other locations on the island because usually when I'm in the mood for chicken I'm at Popeyes) and I was not disappointed. OK so I got the roast pork with 3 sides ... PROS: Price wise - this selection was great compared to the other airport food choices, Food - it was tasty and it kept on the plane until I ate it ... keeping me filled until we touched down in LAX. Service - it wasn't busy when I went there and I was in and out of that location in less than 5 min. CONS: Can't think of anything except that this was in the airport and it took me that long to find out about Lahaina Chicken Company ... let's see if the other locations will match up to this one. read more
