The egg drop soup and the wonton soup was not soup it was just water with egg in it. The Mongolian beef was not Mongolian beef I asked for for a lo mein noodles and I got ramen noodles not nice. The food taste terrible shrimp fried rice I never had no shrimp fried rice like that that was terrible. The food is not Chinese food. The Red Sox look like water. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. The couple that owns this restaurant are the friendliest people you will ever meet. Yes, it is a cash only establishment. The prices are ridiculously cheap and the food is awesome. The owner knows every regular that walks through the door. She even knows my voice when I order over the phone. The Absolute best Chinese food ever and I mean Mrs Wendy is literally like my mom i love her to death.

My family has eaten here for YEARS! We thought it had closed at one point, but to our surprise was still open. Lots of great memories enjoying Mandarin chicken and Ming's beef on Friday nights with a Blockbuster haha. Don't forget the egg rolls! It's also CASH ONLY. But there's a few banks right around the corner to get cash. My husband and kids now enjoy it too when we can make it out that way. My husband is from Thailand and swears it's one of the best he's had. He usually eats the Mandarin chicken because it's always fresh, crispy and sauced really well. Place only takes cash so hit an ATM, but it's worth it! Easy to miss converted house to restaurant. Mandarin chicken is crispy, not overpowering, and even has a bit of spice. Always the best! This place has the best food and it's been around since forever. It's a small little place- a little hole in the wall- if you will that delivers amazing Chinese food and the service is always the best and very personal. I hadn't been here in over a couple of years and when I walked in with my friend yesterday, the lady who is usually taking orders and serving the tables, remembered me- even with my mask on. Tried this place the other day cause I was wanting Chinese food and my go to place, Formosa Express is closed on Mondays. Quick skinny: Only one soup option for lunch: Hot and Sour. And it's not bad. I like egg drop . The place is clean The service is not bad The food flavor is good The portions are small The lunch special menu is limited. Do yourself a favor and go to Formosa Express on Jim Miller. Food is great. The prices are great. A zillion plates on the menu to choose from. The staff and owners are awesome ! read more

I love Chinese food! I arrived at 7:45pm and the restaurant closes at 8 so I was told I could only order to go. I felt rushed b/c the server was standing at our table waiting for our order. We ordered wonton soup, sweet & sour chicken, beef pepper steak, & fried wontons. The dish came with an egg roll and fried rice. The only item that was great was the pepper steak. The egg roll was hard & very oily. The fried wontons were over fried & were just plain wonton wrappers (I love cream cheese wontons). The rice had no egg or peas or carrots or any other staple I have come to know in fried rice. The wonton soup was ok. The sweet & sour chicken was terribly disappointing. The beef steak was shared between us & the rest was thrown away. Sadly disappointed since on yelp they had great reviews. read more

It's no secret I love Chinese food, and as part of my ongoing quest to try the different takes on Chinese food, I was brought to Lai Lai China. Lai Lai has quite a bit of word of mouth rep as one of the better Chinese restaurants in Pleasant Grove, so I decided to give it a try. The Food When trying out a new Chinese restaurant, I always try the combo fried rice. This was no exception. The rice was very lightly seasoned. The meat had a nice discernible taste, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. The vegetables here were not as present, as you'd come to expect in a combo fried rice. I also had a combo Lo Mein. The noodles resembled Ramen noodles, which make for a barely acceptable Lo Mein when hot, but when they cool they're not very good. The Lo Mein was pretty oily, but better seasoned, and the vegetables were much better here. It caught me off guard, but the Lo Mein was served with rice. Nothing too impressive here, but the Lo Mein seasoning did show some potential for their other offerings. The food was nice and hot, and edible. (2/5) The Service The service was pretty good. The person who took my order was kind, and patient. She was pleasant, and had a nice personal conversation with the patrons sitting across the room from me. The service time was faster than I expected, and all the necessary add-ins were already in the bag. (5/5) The Location It's an oddly shaped building. There's limited parking, and limited seating available. The inside is also odd. It has a high ceiling and a pseudo-ceiling. It's fairly clean and there are some decorative pieces, and lighting. The entrance is a little tight. Overall, it's a strange location, but there's no major complaints. (4/5) The Verdict Overall, on this visit, I wasn't too impressed. The service was great, the location was memorable, but the food did leave a bit to be desired. The pricing to portion ratio is not the best, but it's not bad. The Lo Mein did leave some potential for a future visit, I will be returning to try another of their offerings, but it likely won't make my go-to chinese take-out place. Overall 3/5. read more

My family has been coming here for over 30 years and in the past year it has become the go to place We go here every other week and get the dinner for 5 comes with soup, a wonton an egg roll for everyone then 5 entrees served family style and everyone gets there choice of rice fried or steamed, and included in the price is tea for everyone! Everything taste amazing the garlic chicken, chicken lo mein, and beef and Broccoli are some of our favorites! We walk in and Wendy already knows us knows who drinks the tea who doesn't knows my grandma wants steamed and everyone else fried she knows all the entrees we get that I want a tea and a water that we don't like the water chestnuts, and she's even noticed that when the wonton and egg roll come out I give my husband the wonton he gives me the egg roll so know our plates come out with two egg rolls on one and two wontons on the other! She is an amazing owner she never lets your Glass go empty she makes sure everything is perfect for her customers love the food love the owners love it all!!! read more

Beef n broccoli and Mings Beef are two of my go-to's. But the shrimp fried rice is classic and the Orange chicken is awesome!
