    Chicken and Lamb/Beef Rice Bowl
    Tracy L.

I came here the other day with another Veteran friend of mine after shopping at the BX. The last time I was here I wanted to try it , but I had eaten at the Bbq place outside the gate before I came on base. We got the rice bowls , mine a combination chicken and beef/lamb and he got the beef/lamb. I have to say , I've been to several Mediterranean , Kebab , Halal , Döner , etc places here in town and this is the worse one. I hate to say that , but the meat was dry and the rice bowl tasted funny and my friend said the same thing. I only ate half of mine , but my hungry ex-marine friend ate all of his since he hadn't eaten all day. Neither one of us got sick or anything , but something was not right about our food. It didn't taste spoiled , rotten , or anything like that , but it was definitely off. Like I said I have eaten at several places like this all over Vegas and in Greece and Germany. So whatever the problem was we aren't going to be eating here again. I only come to base a couple times a year and it's a shame that the food was so disappointing.

Review #15 of 2023 Jan 28 visit Well ran business located inside the Nellis AFB exchange food court. The food is tasty and is well received by the Airman who frequent it daily. I normally get a lamb/beef gyro some fries and a drink. You can customize the contents of the veggies and sauces that go on your meal. In all of the visits I have had from this visit and others, I can never complain. Props to the workers who do an amazing job with their food service skills, work ethic, and teamwork. Makes for a great vibe, an excellent meal, thus leaving you happy and full.

Service was good. It didn't take long to get my sandwich, even though the line was long. I ordered the new Turkish sandwich. When I sat down to eat it, about 5 min after I got it, I kept getting choked up by something and was spitting out metal. Then I realized the foil wrapping was somehow completely embedded in my sandwich. I had to tear off the chunks of bread completely to remove it. There were some tiny pieces around the sandwhich I had apparently missed because I was chewing on them. I wanted to love this but I couldn't eat it. I got tired of trying to pull foil off my bread and tired of having pieces of metal in my mouth. I am not sure what caused it, but it definitely needs to be addressed. I dont think I'll be eating here again. The meat is not that great anyway. The tzatki sauce is way too runny. Very flavorless. If you order a sandwich, check it before biting into it. Had I not been sitting down and eating this while driving, I'd probably been ingesting a ton of foil. Part of it, I believe, is them cutting the sandwhich in the foil. Perhaps cut the sandwich, then wrap it. That would help the micro pieces where it was cut. As far as it being embedded into the side, I'm not sure how to fix that except to wrap it in the other direction.

I have tried several Mediterranean restaurants, and this one I will not be returning to. Tried the combination chicken, beef/lamb rice bowl. They slather it in garlic and tzatziki sauce to soften the meat. The meat was dry, heavily salted and the rice tasted off. Some of the meat I had to spit out.

Amazing Turkish Doner restaurant in the Nellis Air Force Base, amazing customer service! I highly recommend the Beef and Lamb French Fries Bowl, with all the veggies, Tzatziki and Hot Chili Garlic. A side of their delicious hummus as well to dip the fries in. And don't forget to ask for the hibiscus tea (Jamaica)!

I looked it up on google and it had thousands of reviews so I had to give it a try. the steak shawarma plate was out of this world. and I don't say that lightly! first of all, LOOK at the amount of sides. fresh pita, hummus with the toppings on it, yellow rice, cucumber salad, slaw, olives, pico, and crispy fried onions?? it felt like a whole feast for one plate. every single side was fresh, and it was a fun experience eating everything. the shawarma itself was seasoned perfectly. but the thing that really sent me was the garlic aioli. I would genuinely buy a bottle of it if they sold it. and the rice was so good as well! 10/10 spot- I can't wait to take my parents here as they only eat halal! will definitely come back

I went from sha-hot-a paradise outside to this inside…read more Shawarma Paradise is a nondescript shop in Little Ethiopia. For those who might get lost trying to find it, they're pretty much right across the street from Burger King. After I finally located them and walked in, it looked odd since it felt like almost behind the counter, but you can just walk around to the dining room and the front of the counter. I was recommended a couple of choices and went with the Black Angus Steak Shawarma as a Laffa wrap ($24.50). The employee had me walk over to the Chipotle-esque assembly area after and then walked me through the choices. I recall getting hummus, a mild green sauce of some kind, raw sumac onions, fried onions, fried eggplant, cucumber, pico de gallo, and purple slaw. Then the cool stuff happened when he offered to let me sample some sauce and then get multiple sauces on the side. The curry mango amba is some really challenging stuff that resembled something I've tried at some Indian lunch buffet ages ago, so I'm glad I didn't get it on the wrap. The creamy BBQ aioli (kinda like a sweeter fry sauce, I felt), dill & roasted garlic mayo, and tahini were all better options, the former going especially well with my included side of fries while the dill plays a great supporting role and the tahini just does its thing. I sat down and got to the actual wrap, and it was delicious. The laffa is fluffy and thicker than I thought it might be; it ain't a lavash, that's for sure. The steak is pretty tender, often has that char from the vertical rotisserie it was carved from, and free from chewy bits. It has a nice warming spice rub which you can get more easily before starting to experiment with sauces. All three aforementioned choices worked. Overall, it isn't cheap (especially if you don't have cash on-hand to avoid the surcharge), but I enjoyed it. I also got a bottled lemonade ($4.95) of some sort which they've imported from Israel. It had a little more actual lemon character than American brands, and I kinda plowed through that thing pretty quickly. I'm kinda curious whether the mango, peach, or grape options would have also worked. Shawarma Paradise is a very good, albeit pricey option for steak shawarma and likely for other protein needs. Check them out if you get the craving, as I'm not confident that there are many if any better spots around.

The chicken had amazing flavor and was cooked perfectly tender, juicy, and nicely grilled. It came with a generous serving of rice and an outstanding Greek salad loaded with fresh vegetables, feta, and olives. Everything on the plate tasted fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. I genuinely loved the entire meal. The service was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the menu was easy to read and understand. My only complaint was paying $6 for a very small bottle of Acqua Panna water. I know it's a premium brand, but that price for such a small bottle felt excessive. Other than the water situation, I had a great experience and will definitely return. The food alone is worth coming back for!

I've had Greek food that was more flavorful. Greek food tends to be a bit pricier than others so I have a higher standard. I can brag on a few things. The restaurant was very clean and cute. I loved that they had TVs and we could watch the World Cup game that was on. You order your food up front, pay, grab your drink, and then sit down with your number. They bring the food out to your table. I love the CocaCola freestyle machines. Unfortunately this one didn't have any diet or zero options other than Aha sparkling water. That was a bit disappointing. They do have canned Diet Coke along with some interesting Greek drinks in a refrigerator. I ordered the gyro plate and my son got the falafel gyro. We both got the feta fries. These are really delicious. There was so much feta and herbs on the crispy, coated fries. My portion was great on my gyro plate. The salad was pretty but the Greek dressing was very mild and lacking in flavor for me. The same with my gyro meat. It was just okay. When you mix beef and lamb, it creates this delicious flavor and I just didn't get that here. The tzatziki was very bland to me. It was almost just straight yogurt. My son's falafel pita was very good. It was soft in the inside with the slight crisp on the outside. It was a large size pita and filled up my teenage boy. The desserts sounded delicious and the baklava in the case next to the registers were phenomenal looking. We didn't make it that far to get to have dessert. Since my son loved it so much, we will be back. I will try a different plate next time and hopefully be able to get dessert also.
