The burgers sucked. Got the Blackened Burger, which really just means it's charbroiled. They claim 8 oz of buger, but I really think it was mostly fat and cardboard that went into the pattie. This place had a 10 minute wait at a time that Gomez and Smokeyard had an hour wait. We got the green goddess and the run rummer. The rum runner tasted OK. It was very strong and kind of tasted like plain rum. The green goddess was wonderful. If you come here, you must try the Lobster Roll! It is so delicious! I recommend getting it with Garlic Fries in the side! You will not regret it! The barman ignored me even though he was not attending anyone. I waited patiently but he still ignored me until I had to wave for him to acknowledge my presence. So me and my two brothers went to this bar. It was my little brothers 21st birthday. They gave my little bro a free shot for his birthday which was awesome. But at one point I was dancing on the stage where the dj was playing and got tackled off the stage. They said the DJ didn't want to look at me while I was dancing? So I got tackled off the stage by the bouncers. They choked me out, slammed me against the bar, and then a bunch of locals screamed at us that we were in the wrong until we left. We did read all of the yelp reviews and were concerned about the customer service we were going to receive. The reviews on the food are not too bad. We give the customer service 3 solid stars. The food: The Kalua Pulled Pork Nachos were on point! They were great! Portions were way more than enough. Lots of meat, caramelized onions and jalapeños. Hint of sweetness and fresh food. Really good. We had the LakaNuki burger. Standard fare burger. On a pretzel bun with fixins. The beef was fresh and good. They promote the grass fed beef and you can taste the didfeeence. Noted that we were never asked how we wanted the burger done. It was served medium which is our desired doneness. This is the only bar in Mammoth that is open late on the weekends. Everything else was closed by 10. The drinks were acceptable and they were very cheap. Bartenders were polite and made the drinks quickly. Be warned that this tiki bar turns into a club on the weekends. There was a dj blaring shitty music, lights flashing, an empty dance floor and rough looking bouncers at the entrance. I left early but my husband and his friends stayed later. Two waiters had shots with them. Our waiter lied to us saying that "The kitchen was backed up... the runner brought your food to the wrong table". We strongly expressed our disapproval. The "manager" came out. We told the manager we were willing to pay for our drinks and leave. Her concern never was how offensively we were treated. So after a great ski day I took my family in for a bite and a cocktail as we are staying here in the village. We jumped in line at the first register where a wonderful young lady was helping a party in front of us and another gentlemen came in behind us. "Kyler" was working the other register and motioned for the guy behind us to come over. This annoyed me as we were already patiently waiting for a few minutes so I followed the gentleman and politely pointed out that we were next in line. He shrugged me off and Kyler responded by buying his entire round of drinks then blew me off and headed to the other register! I should point out the guy that cut the line (not really his fault) offered to buy me a drink. I waited and was then helped by the young lady mentioned above. I asked to speak to the manager/owner and was told he left for the day. I went to my table and tried to forget about the incident and here comes Kyler to "apologize" but not really. He blamed me for not paying attention when he yelled "three times" for the next customer to come down... this was a bold face lie and I told him so. It escalated and frankly, Kyler is lucky he went home with all his teeth that night. I followed up by calling the next day and asked to talk to the manager/owner again but I believe Kyler took my message so I didn't expect it to go anywhere. I found a way to get Stuart the owner and he listened to my story, empathized, and made it right. Thank you Stuart, you're a classy guy and under different circumstances, my experience at the Lakanuki Tiki Bar would have been perfect as the food and cocktails were all excellent. We go into this place for a couple drinks and maybe some food. There was nobody standing at the front to seat us so we walk in with intentions of sitting at the bar. You know usually you can walk into a restaurant and the bars are self seating? Yeah nope, I was greeted with the female running up to us throwing her hand up right in my face pointing at the entrance "that gesture someone makes when the kick you out of a place". So we walk back to the front and as we are having a conversation about staying there, the lady pulls a sign out of the desk which says the typical "please wait to be seated". Had a blast here- we came for some drinks and ended up crashing a wedding. The place had been bought out for the night, but the wedding party was drunk by the time we arrived & so we blended in, and no one surmised a thing. Mammoth offers many varieties of food options in the Village. Just do not eat here. The pricing is just the first item that is out of line. If you want to spend money on a well prepped meal do not have high expectations here. The quality is barely above McDonald's. A dinner for 4 is around a $100 . All other restaurants in the village are close to this in pricing but offer an exquisite menu with top notch food quality. After requesting my order to be replaced , the counter teen offered a refund and a new order. I opted for the replacement ( ahi nachos) This was still unsatisfying . One bite discovered the ahi to be Unfresh (again) and the worst quality I've ever experienced. After this I just requested a refund while my family (wife and two kids ate half of there grease infused dinner) . We left with no return due to the manager insisting on his employee not having authority to refund. Coming from Southern California I am always looking for more of a laid back unpretentious vibe when I get away to the mountains. In the past the Lakanuki was a solid place to provide that. However, this past weekend my group and I were all disappointed to see this establishment taking advantage of the current Covid situation in Mammoth. Many of the bars, especially all the bars in the village area, are closing by 11:00PM with exception of Lakanuki. This past weekend, Lakanuki was going for that Hollywood vibe I guess. I get the line outside when you are one of the only games in town, but charging $20 a head for men and $10 a head for women just to get in the door is a joke. My group, as well as several others in line left this place when we found they were doing this. Do yourself a favor, if you want to go out late at night on the weekend in Mammoth, take yourself and your peeps to the Liberty Bar and Grill. Get that laid back mountain vibe and don't get taken at the door. They also has live music on Saturday. Not sure if that is a regular thing, but it was solid. read more

There's a DJ on the weekends, karaoke on the weekday, and happy hour everyday! Staff always has a smile on their face, Female bartenders are nice & quick when it's busy. Jeremy, Barlow, and Demo are always on their A game constantly moving around and pouring drinks. It's incredible seeing the teamwork that's displayed here! This place is in serious need of a facelift. Dark and dingy. The food I have tried is mediocre, but a majority of the time spent here has been after dinner hours. Rude staff, so-so drinks(PLEASE get montezuma out of your well. #instahangove, and usually a pretty rowdy crowd. I've seen my fair share of alcohol driven feuds break out among the dance floor and outside the bar. Then there is the DJ. Here is a good place to start that facelift. Find a DJ that is relevant to the time! I'm sick of hearing stuff from 10+ years ago. It's also hard to dance to music that cuts out frequently while the DJ drunkenly yells at other patrons.
