Salty, oily...........deliciously enjoying it all. The fries were better than the burger, the bun is good but not something I prefer regularly. Briochey and a little thick. I may try it as a lettuce wrap next time, although I casually enjoy my burger with fries, I highly enjoy the water w/lemon that they have in their water dispenser. They were amazing! Burgers were great. Also a lot of places skimp out on the fries with store bought frozen ones, but this place was freshly cut. The cherry on top was their sauce for the fries. One of the BEST fish sandwiches I've ever had. I have a milk allergy and have to be careful with breading - they were very nice and helpful in determining what was safe for me to eat. I also got truffle fries (without the parmesan) and they were amazing. Highly recommend! read more

Burgers were good. Chicken wrap was excellent. Shakes were delicious. French fries were hard as rocks, and small tiny crumbs. Cheese fries, super soggy, the cheese was not good, like I don't know if that was cheese sauce. Both fries not edible. Just tossed them out. I've had the basic burger and it has been great! I love the local beef! I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap, and it was not satisfying. Chicken was fried to a damn crisp! I "re-constructed it". Ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Boardwalk Fries. Fries were nice, very salty but the vinegar powder they used added great flavor. Sandwich was sort of a letdown. Good quality chicken and breading I will say, but far, far too aggressive with the sauce and not enough pickle. We tried the take out option and we love it! We ordered the Lake veggie burger (as that's the only burger option without meat), rather than the standard veggie Patty that we usually get, their black bean patty was not only delicious but also fresh and tasted really good. The portion size is perfect. I loved the garlic sauce that comes with it. It's pretty delicious!! We also ordered a side of fries which too were really good. Overall the meal was great. Very few places in Kalamazoo have great veggie burger options and Lake Burger is one of them! Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures as we were too hungry and the food looked so good. My husband and I have had our eyes on this place for months. The high reviews is what helped me decide, finally, to go for it. Unfortunately it wasn't at all why we expected. The smoked Mac and cheese was grainy. The sauce wasn't smooth at all, the pasta was soggy, and there was no seasoning in it. It honestly tasted like an old batch. There were chunks of smoked cheddar in it, and those were questionable at first, but it couldn't save the dish. The chicken sandwiches were so thin--I expected a better quality cut for what we paid. It was an okay sandwich, but it didn't meet the expectations I had. The burger was so dry, stiff, and had no season on it. They say they don't freeze their meats, but it tasted like it was a frozen patty. The truffle aioli sauce was pretty, good though. But the burger as a whole not at all. I am not sure what happened the day we ordered, but it was nothing like the reviews boast about. The hotdogs were good. The bun was tender, and the toppings were fresh. I do wish the hotdog was cooked a little longer, though. The only saving grace were the parmesan truffle fries, which everyone in my family loved. The fries were crispy, fully of flavor, and looked beautiful. I may have to go in just to get those, but man the portion was small for the price. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her fried chicken. I didn't try it myself, but if she liked it, it must have been good. If the quality of the food isn't going to hold up to the standard, then it is a shame to charge so much for the food. Gave this place a try and it was good but not great. There are definitely better burger places around. My salad was the best part- the lemon dressing was perfect. Unfortunately, my first time visit was not a pleasant one. Chicken sandwich was overcooked and had absolutely no flavor. Half of my Parm Truffel fries were overcooked and left a horrible aftertaste. Hands down best chicken sandwich. They ended the debate for me. I'm not a big fry guy so didn't order any but after seeing the pictures posted, I'll definitely place an order next time. They were out of regular fried chicken (had tenders) so the lady recommended the sandwich and I'm so glad she did. Can't wait to try other menu items next time I'm on the side of town. The lady was so nice to me even tho I was a little grumpy from getting soaked by the rain after getting lost trying to find an office and that really helped. As a person who has sampled burgers across the globe, I was really looking forward to having a new burger joint in the area. The service was outstanding and I loved the music. I always enjoy patronizing locally-sourced establishments. The quality of meat and toppings were quite good. Sadly, Lake Burger is just okay. Despite the attention to quality ingredients, the fries were a bit soggy and they were quite heavy-handed with the salt. Same for the burger. Unfortunately, this overshadowed the flavor potential. Decided to try Lake Burger tonight. I got the Lake Burger and my husband got the Double Bacon Cheeseburger. It was subpar. We ate there (very small place) no tables just slabs of wood you can sit at. The burger was well done and lacked flavor. Burgers didn't come with fries which was disappointing. For the price you definitely can get a better burger elsewhere. We got two burgers, two sides of fries and it was $25.00 and some change. To me, Culver's for sure has a better burger. Fries were good though. read more

This was my first time eating at Lake Burger and I was very impressed. I'm now a fanboy and I will yell it from the rooftops: I'll never love another burger place, ever! The fries are amazing, especially when dipped into the garlic aioli. The house made ketchup is right up there with some of the best I've ever had. We stopped by since we had never eaten here before and were very happy we did! I had the olive burger and it comes with an olive spread and feta cheese. It was delicious along with the fresh brioche bun. My husband had the shroom burger with truffle and was very satisfied. We shared truffle fries and they were awesome! There was plenty in one order for both of us! They came with their homemade ketchup and also garlic aioli which also was very flavorful! We got the $5 burger deal on a Wednesday, it was a great tasting buger. the bun tasted homemade. The veggies were fresh and crispy. and the burger patty was great, juicy and cooked to order. This is a tremendous value. I stopped in here after work and it was extremely busy. I placed my order and got it fairly quickly. I got a Double Lake Burger with regular fries. It was a sit-down restaurant quality burger for a pretty good price and it was very tasty. The fries are seasoned perfectly, and they serve an aioli on the side which was also very good. Tried to go in a Sunday for mom birthday sadly they were closed. Was finally able to get there on a day they were open. From ordering to getting food it was maybe a total of eight or ten minutes. Which wasn't bad for getting a double lake burger and the chicken sandwich. Both very tasty, the boardwalk fries were very good, I can see where people complain about them being soggy, they seem more like a taste and texture you get used to. Wish it were heated better in winter when you want to eat in so the food doesn't get cold so fast. They have two small counters with stools along two walls. And the burgers are great! No it is not as cheap a fast food places. But do you realize what you are actually eating there? That meat is mixed from a variety of global sources; industrialized farms in foreign countries!
