I specifically made an 8:00 PM reservation at Lamplight Lounge for my son's 1st birthday so we could enjoy the World of Color show. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, I requested seating with a view of the show. We were seated in the very back of the restaurant and told there were no available tables closer to the water, despite several being open, several empty tables and seats visible throughout our meal. Our host/lead, Casey, was incredibly rude. She rolled her eyes when we asked about seating and practically threw the menus onto the table and even referred to us as 'spics,' which was completely unacceptable and offensive. After speaking with a manager, we were moved slightly closer, but we later spoke with guests who were seated in the prime viewing area after us. They told us they simply asked for those seats and were accommodated. The manager, Juan, eventually moved us outside, but we were still seated far from the viewing area. He also informed us that guests arriving after us could still be seated in front of us for the show, which made no sense given that we had specifically reserved this dining experience for the World of Color viewing. I have visited Disney parks around the world, including Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disney Resort, and I have never been treated so poorly. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I have ever had at a Disney property. For such a special occasion, especially my son's first birthday, the experience was disappointing and frustrating. The food was fine, but the customer service was unacceptable. The pork was comforting and perfectly cooked- loved the rich and cheesy polenta, along with the bright pop of pineapple. Fries were solid as usual, we got them on the side. There is a huge difference between the upstairs lounge and the downstairs bar. The bar wins on service and ambiance every time. While the upstairs is the only place to grab the lobster nachos, the burger at the bar is superior to any burger in the parks. Top Tip: Look up the secret menu online before you arrive. It was crowded and busy, but the server came over right away with menus and to take our drink order. Once we placed our dinner order, the wait for food was long. We didn't start eating until close to 5:45pm and by then I was starving. We ordered: Little Gem Salmon Salad - delicious with a light dressing, tangy pickled onions and cheese that paired really well with the salmon. Charbroiled Cheddar Burger & Fries with a Purple Ube Lager and soda - my husband's combo. The burger was tasty and filling and the lager was decent. One place that DCA has Disneyland best is in the dinning. Lamplight lounge is a quality restaurant that offer some of the best food at the Disneyland resort. This place is reservations recommended. I went for lunch, but I wish I would have done dinner so I can see all the amusement park lights lake side. The majority of the restaurants is outside patio dinning with mainly the bar and a couple of seats inside. I got the burger which was pretty good and quality ingredients it was cooked good for a medium portion. The only thing simi lacking was the sauce 4 ****. I got a non alcoholic drink which was great. Wonderful atmosphere and pretty affordable prices. I did like the the kids meal was just as much as you would pay for quick serve. We ordered the fried onion blossom which was a crispy onion ring a great appetizer. The Thai seafood pasta was aldente', and prime rib was tender and cooked right. Lamplight Lounge is a solid dining spot in DCA. Worth making a reservation for! Their lobster nachos are the best. It's pricey but easily shareable between 2-3 people. Got to try Lamplight again and snag a reservation a few days before. I had no idea they switch up the menus and don't have the same food offerings between the lounge and boardwalk dining. I was so sad about not being able to get the lobster nachos. In the lounge it does have a great view over the water and the Ferris wheel though. For drinks we tried the over budget, Colava (secret menu item) and goofy island (non alcoholic); also ordered some dole whip shots (also secret menu). Highly recommend the dole whip shots. For food we got the charbroiled cheeseburgers, potato skins, and Thai sea food pasta. Pasta was very refreshing and had great flavor- I would definitely order again. Lamplight Lounge can really be a hit or miss. Unfortunately my latest visit was a miss. I was especially bummed because it was my last stop before my pass expired. I asked our waiter whether we should go with the sliders or the wings, and he recommended the wings. Sadly, they were bland, mostly breaded, and not fully cooked on the inside. I wish the lobster nachos had more lobster. I feel like it was mostly all on one side and not enough. Another Disney dining review! We tried the Lamplight Lounge Boardwalk Dining and the actual restaurant and found the restaurant to be highly superior. Boardwalk dining is kind of a scam. We ended up sat right next to the dish return at the bar and it was noisy and kind of gross. We also weren't facing the actual boardwalk so the view was just of the area behind of bar lol service was also a little slow. It was hard to tell who our server was and to get their attention. We also could only order from a limited menu, which thankfully did include the lobster nachos we had heard folks rave about but...they weren't that good? They were kind of cold. My drink was delicious but everything else fell a little flat. Cut to a few weeks later we made reservation at the actual restaurant and it was a complete 180. We got the best seat in the house! A view on the downstairs patio directly across from Pixar Pal-a-round. We both ordered from a more extensive restaurant menu, my husband even got the prime rib which was delicious! I got the Brussels Caesar with chicken and was impressed by the amount of chicken and the flavor, it had a really nice char on it. Our server was excellent too. This is one of those places that we always try to come to. With the full bar and a great patio, it's always a great break from the busyness of the day at California adventure. As always we had great drinks and great meals, but being sat on the patio at night in December is a little iffy. For some reason they have only four heaters and they're all over very specific areas and can't be swiveled. We were freezing! Although not on the menu, they do have a full bar, so my husband ordered an Irish coffee. It was hot and delicious and quite strong. I had had a little tummy trouble earlier so I stuck with a non-alcoholic beverage which was quite delicious. I have no idea what cocktail my son had but he did say that he thought it was really good. I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes and the best carrots I've ever had. Now I'm not a huge fan of carrots but I can take them or leave it. But these heirloom carrots or somehow chard and they were absolutely delicious. Have you have the cheeseburger and it was really good. Fries were good too. My son had a Brussels salad, which I wasn't too sure about when I read the description. It talked about having a tomato sauce which doesn't quite drive with salad for me, but it ended up being really really good. Aside from eating and freezing at the same time, it was a good experience. I hadn't been to Lamplight Lounge in a while, so I grabbed a reservation as soon as I saw one available. They do accept walk-ins, but I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you can. When you check in with a front desk, you walk down a flight of stairs to the restaurant to be seated. They have some nice outdoor seating, overlooks the pier. It's beautiful sight at night! They offer a solid cocktail menu, and the entrée selection tends to rotate depending on the season or special promotions. We happened to visit during the Lunar New Year festival, so there were a few limited-time menu items, which was a nice touch. Our server was attentive, but was noticeably busy with all of her tables. Unfortunately, this visit didn't quite meet my expectations. My chicken dish came out uneven in temperature--room temp on the outside but still a bit cold inside--which was disappointing. My son ordered noodles that ended up being too spicy for him to enjoy, and he couldn't finish them. While the spice level may have been noted on the menu, it would have been helpful if the server had given us a quick heads-up. That said, this may have just been an off experience. Luckily, the times I've visited have allowed me to order it but I've also tried some of their other dishes when I've gone during the week. Tonight our servers Chris and Mila were great, friendly and made us feel very welcome. I love to collect beer coasters wherever I go, and Chris gave me one of each character :) The prices are steeper than the eating at the cafeteria type venues in San Fransokyo or in the Plaza Familia. But if you can stretch your wallet a little bit, I find it worth the cost, to have a nice sit down meal. The prime rib is $40, which is on par with what I'd expect at a good steakhouse. Drinkwise, I tried the everlasting marigold and over budget. Out of the two, I liked the over budget better. It was a take on a moscow mule and very refreshing! Lamplight Lounge is arguably the best location to eat at Disney California Adventure. If you plan to eat here, definitely check the Disneyland app far in advance to make a reservation If you don't book ahead, keep an eye out for late-night or early morning reservations before 7:00 AM, or check throughout the day for last minute cancellations. This spot is centrally located on Pixar Pier. They feature a rotating menu that changes seasonally. The portions have gotten a little smaller, and the famous Lobster Nachos are unfortunately no longer available at the main downstairs restaurant. You can still get them at the Boardwalk Dining up stairs. However, the newer menus still feature great items, including the Prime Rib. They also have great options for kids and offer allergy menus. The price is what you expect when visiting the parks, making this a great option for only a few dollars more than ordering quick service. The atmosphere is fantastic, as the entire restaurant is themed with artwork and tributes to every Pixar movie. This location is also perfect for watching World of Color. If you book a reservation around 8:00pm and request to be seated outside, you will have a great partial view of the show. However, the dressing was not a Caesar, but more of a chipotle. The drink: after looking on tik tok, I ordered the colava which is a piña colada with raspberry syrup. Finally got the opportunity to get to lamplight for brunch, SPECTACULAR. First off the mimosa flight and the breakfast centered cocktails are so fun, especially on a special adults only trip. We went with the French toast and the chilaquiles. The French toast was quite dry so I'm gonna knock it doesn't a peg for that, but the chilaquiles were fantastic, I opted to add the soyrizo to it for some added flavor and I'm glad that I did. At Lamplight Lounge, the barbacoa nachos are a savory finger food that really stands out. They give you a lot of meat, and it's cooked very well, making each bite flavorful and satisfying. The Michelada was a bit intense at first, but it's made with real mix, which gives it an authentic taste. The lime on top adds a nice fresh touch and makes it a great drink for Michelada lovers. We've been Disney passholders for over a decade and lamplight lounge has always been one of our favorites to dine at while doing Disney California adventure, but some things have changed, let me tell ya about them ! Everything was fine upon arrival; check-in was mobile and smooth, customer service was wonderful as always, BUT if I knew they had broken up the restaurant into two DIFFERENT restaurants, I would've just tried to do a walk-in upstairs . For booked reservations, it seems like you are sat downstairs, inside . It also seems like Lamplight Lounge is trying to be fancier than they are . The first thing I noticed is that the "bar type foods" like lobster nachos were not on the menu . I asked our server (Brandon is awesome), if there was any way to order the lobster nachos even if it was off-menu and he unfortunately said there was no way . That was a bummer because that was the whole reason why I went out of my way for this reservation . Secondly, because the restaurants are now split, the menu is ALOT smaller . There were just a few items each in between apps, entrees, and desserts . Thirdly, I wish they gave us the option to dine outside, even if we're downstairs . The booths inside are so close together, it feels like you don't have any privacy and can hear other peoples conversations . Whenever I've dined at LLL in the past, we've always been outdoors and thats the vibe we're looking for . Overall, the customer service was great, food was solid, but I don't think id be back downstairs at least for awhile . Our friends made dinner reservations at the Lamplight Lounge last night, and I'll admit I was hesitant to return after my last visit. However, I'm so glad we gave it another try! We checked in at our assigned time and were directed downstairs to see the hostess. Once there, we were seated at the perfect table with a great view -- we could see people taking off on the Incredicoaster and the big Ferris wheel. Our waitress had a lot of tables to manage, but she handled everything really well. We started with appetizers -- the onion blossom and potato skins -- and asked if she could pace our meal so everything didn't arrive at once. She was more than happy to do that. The onion blossom was amazing -- honestly better than Outback's! The potato skins were just as good. So far, the meal was off to a great start. The dinner menu is a bit limited, but I decided to go wild and ordered the Thai Seafood Pasta. It was delicious -- full of mussels and shrimp, with a smaller but perfectly cooked piece of fish. The sauce tied everything together beautifully. My husband ordered the prime rib, asked for medium rare, and it came out perfectly cooked. All of us enjoyed our meal, which was a wonderful change from our last dining experience at Lamplight Lounge. We'll definitely be back again after this visit! read more

People have always spoken highly about Lamplight Lounge and it would definitely be helpful to know whether that's the pier or the indoor dining! We opted for indoor since that was the only reservation we were able to grab, but thought it was a great experience overall! There is plenty of Pixar memorabilia with an inviting atmosphere and views of the incredicoaster and Ferris wheel. As a group, we weren't too hungry so opted to share a variety of appetizers instead: Pork Belly Bao Bun: 10/10, the pork belly was extremely tender and flavorful Brussel Sprouts: crispy and tossed in some sort of sauce that's sweet, perfect balance Onion Blossom: elevated version compared to the texas road house -- delicious Potato Skins: nothing special The waiter told us that all of their cocktails are hand crafted specialties, one of my friends opted for a cocktail and it was as delicious as expected. We love coming to lamplight! It's right on the pier at DCA. We usually only come here with a reservation. There are bathrooms inside which make it nice~ The menu is pretty limited for food but the food is now more like real eats. (I used to come here for lobster nachos and not real food but now I come here for real food. lol!) We got the Brussels Caesar (tasty and a tad salty), burger lettuce wrapped (substituted fries out for uncooked carrots), and chicken dish. Everything was pretty yummy and we walked out stuffed afterwards! We got the prosecco and that was bubbly with a little raspberry on a toothpick. We also got the Cobra Hiss and thought it was such a tasty cocktail!!! read more
