This Thai spot in Midtown was so busy when I came on a Wednesday evening. I highly encourage recommendations as you might be faced with a long wait otherwise. They have two floors of seating (so spacious) and service is pretty quick. I got their papaya salad, roti massaman, pad see ew, ped pa loh (duck), and green curry. The papaya salad really stood out to me, but I enjoyed all of their dishes. What I liked about this spot is that they split their menu up between regions of Thailand so you get to know which dishes are from where (pretty cool!). Although the food was good, I feel like there are so many Thai spots in NYC that are better and that this spot was lacking a "wow" factor for me.

Summer Friday lunch has started becoming our thing. Most restaurants are usually empty around noon; but not at Mitr Thai. Luckily, we had a reservation, because it was packed. They sat us upstairs, and brought the menus, specials and waters in no time. Miriam was cheerful and helped us navigate through the fairly large menu. She even made some recommendations. We started with the Curry Puffs (2), which were very filling. For mains, Kana Moo Krob over Rice and Kao Soy Kai Neur. {See Full Description on photos) They came with a small salad, that didn't look so great. But the Ginger Citrus Dressing used, made me want to take a quart of it home. The whole meal was fantastic, and very filling. Now I know why it was so busy. The place runs like a well oiled machine, and the whole lunch took about 45 minutes, from start to finish. Next time, we'll stay for dessert

I'd heard a lot about Mitr Thai and finally got around to trying it. It lived up to the hype and honestly even better than I expected. Gai Gor Lae (chicken satay): really juicy and well marinaded. Delicious! Roti Massaman: the roti comes in small triangles, easy to dip in curry. The massaman is rich, sweet, and very comforting. Khao Pad Nam Prik Kak Moo: crispy pork belly fried rice served with egg and pork rind. This is a must order! Super crunchy, packed with flavor, and just really satisfying. Crab fried rice: you can't go wrong here. Solid and well executed. Black sticky rice with coconut ice cream: surprisingly really good. The contrast in textures and flavors works so well. The cocktails were pretty good too! I highly recommend the panda with the "N". Pandan flavored, light and refreshing! They have a pretty extensive menu with dishes from different regions, which I liked. I'd definitely come back to try more. Highly recommend!

Location: 37 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036 Ambiance: big space although expect tightly packed seating. Customer service: very accommodating, will walk you through the menu especially if you're a first time diner. Food: Overall. Had a very great experience with them. OMG this is the place to be for thai tea. My go to for Thai tea. The main dish we've tried and the dessert below. Pineapple rice with shrimp---i looooove the freshness and the umami essence of all the ingredients mix together with rice. Mango sticky rice with all the garnishing. THE BEST!! I'm definitely coming back with some friends!

*this is a 4.5 star review* This place felt like a diamond in the rough on 46th street. I popped in on a rainy day and it was just what I needed. It is so beautiful inside-great artwork hanging from the ceiling and everything about it screams class and culture. The staff were so kind and attentive. In the short time I was there I received multiple water refills. I ordered the Pad-Se-Ew lunch special for $19 which is a great deal, because you get a passion fruit salad as well and the passion fruit dressing is tangy and delicious. Truly my only complaint is that the salad felt so minimal. It was so good and I would've loved if there was a bit more.

Just wanted to reiterate the warning in my pervious review: they are extremely strict on the 10min time limit for your reservation (and yes, make a reservation since it's absolutely packed). When returning here a second time, I didn't heed my own advice, and missed my reservation by under a minute and they gave away our table. We ended up waiting 45min for the next table. Totally my fault but just a reminder - they even put multiple signs up to warn about this as well. I'd also repeat that the pad see ew is the best taste and value here. Crab fried rice is good, but after a second try at it, I think it's a bit too expensive for what it is. I'd pass on the chicken skewers. I liked the pandan matcha drink.

Everything we got was amazing! We tried a variety of usual dishes and some new ones too. We started with the chicken skewers and roti Massamun. Both were great. The Massamun curry was delicious and the chicken skewers were really flavorful. For mains we shared the Kao soy gai, crab fried rice, kua gai and green curry with 6 people. I liked everything except the green curry which had a bit of a floral aftertaste. The Kao soy gai and crab fried rice were my favorite out of everything. I also got a Thai iced tea which was great too. Overall it was a good meal and easy to share dishes with groups!

I was surprised at how delicious everything was! We stumbled across this restaurant after watching a play in the area and I am so happy we did! The food was delicious, from the appetizer to the entrees. Service was quick and servers were attentive. Can't wait to go back! This is THAI!

Phenomenal Thai Food. I would recommend a reservation for this authentic Thai restaurant located in midtown NYC. Service is quick and attentive while overall food is top notch. The decor and robust regional menu provide for a great setting and ample options.

After a Broadway show, dined Thai at Mitr Thai in Midtown Manhattan in the theater district. Two floors and much larger than you'd expect. Added ourselves to the wait list and a table was ready in 20 minutes. Gulped down our beer at the bar and headed back. Great service and the food came quickly. The soup was our favorite. I thought the duck dish wasn't spicy enough but perfect for my wife. Dance music playing but at a level conducive to conversation. Restrooms had Thai music playing. Trendy restaurant. Quite dark throughout btw. I'm not a fan of that. We enjoyed it. Best in Manhattan? No, but quite good and we didn't plan anything for our late dinner.

Authentically Thai - from the service to the food - you're transported to Thailand! I was so impressed with our whole experience, I can't wait to come back here again in the very near future! I made reservations online for our Saturday lunch date, and good thing I did! This place packs up quickly and you'll give yourself some piece of mind that you did so in advance. You are in the heart of the theater district, so keep that in mind as well. We were ushered to the second floor to their upstairs dining area. It was well-lit, inviting, and had background music on that wasn't blasting for early afternoon. Cream, our waitress, was so sweet and lovely, giving us really good suggestions to try based on her own personal recommendations. She didn't disappoint! We tried the massaman roti that was addicting! Light and buttery roti and the massaman curry was so deep with flavors I almost drank the remaining bits before it was sent back to the kitchen! I would absolute try the curry the next time we frequent here. We stuck to our usual go-to dishes - beef pad thai for me, and hubby got pad se-ew. The pad se-ew was a clear winner for me, with my pad thai a very close second. The portions were generous but not gluttonous where it is a turnoff. I was so full at this point, but hubby saw the table next to us get dessert and he HAD to try it. It was thai iced tea iced cream over a thai custard pastry. Was it freezing that day? Yes - and we had to have the ice cream - and you should too! This seems to be a guest favorite and it's obvious - light with just the right amount of sweet - 10/10. Come here for REAL Thai flavors and for an unforgettable meal!

Wow this place was great! Cute thai restaurant with an initimate setting and I believe they also offer seating upstairs. The decor is cute! With dim lighting and bar seating if you are solo solo. I visited this in the evening post blizzard it was packed with a relatively short wait. They have an abundance of menu items to choose from and even label what part of Thailand they are from. I ordered one of the specials Gaeng Leung a southern sour curry with branzino! It was spicy and perfect for the temperature! I ordered brown rice with it. I definitely have found a thai spot I will be revising when I return to NY absent the blizzard.

I was staying in a nearby hotel and wanted Thai food for lunch. There are several options in the area but I was intrigued by the menu and the different dishes from different regions of Thailand. I was greeted by a gentleman shoveling the sidewalk- but when I entered the restaurant was full of patrons and crowded with those waiting to be seated. Short on time, I turned to leave and the gentleman working outside asked what happened. I explained that it was crowded - he suggested I try the bar and I'm so glad that convinced me to try again. The restaurant is actually much larger than it appears from the street. They have 2nd floor seating as well. I was quickly seated at the bar. I resisted the urge to order my favorite (pad Thai) and asked the bartender to recommend a few new dishes. He recommended 3, I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was pork, basil rice topped with an egg and served with a side salad. That dish was amazing! I love that they serve food from various regions. I kept eyeing dishes as they came out and everything looked very good. I can't wait to go back and explore new flavors.
