Absolutely delicious and a delicate blend of everything! + Decent service + Plenty of parking spots + Well decorated - it simply does not have the diner feel. More of a fast casual place to grab something to eat Cons: - Mediocre menu - not much that's unusual/unique. I wish they were a little bit more creative. read more

Fanciest diner I've been to yet. Huge parking lot and a ginormous dining space. When you walk in, there's a large vestibule waiting area. Two entrances for your convenience and an elevator that holds 10 easily. I've been here before and recall the awesome menu items so while my family was visiting with me, this was the perfect spot to take them. Something for everyone indeed. Where else can you get a coffee flavored milkshake, smores inspired pancakes, meatball Benedict, and grilled cheese au jus? What?! I even saw fried chicken with waffles. So tempting. The eight long menu pages can get overwhelming but as a frequent diner goer, this just adds to the fun dining experience. Not only did they offer your traditional diner fare but an array of cuisine choices and creative fare. I came here on Jan. 2nd, and because of the New Year's holiday, this place was even more packed than it's usual Weekend Madness. (I've been here before so I already knew to expect a crowd but this place was packed to the gills). Like any classic diner, must order the burger. Whatever way you like. Can't go wrong. Also try any of their egg and omelette dishes. All are generous portions and delicious. My sister ordered corn beef hash with two eggs over easy. It was yummy from beginning to end. And felt like a bottomless plate given the large serving! I ordered a twist on the classic grilled cheese on your choice of bread, this one came with fried onions and au jus for dipping. Toasted to perfection, buttery toast (white) and both sauteed and crunchy onions stacked inside. The side of au jus was a good compliment. Partly because it added more flavor to the sammy and it was extra fun to dip. Surprisingly the sammy didn't come with fries which prompted me to order cheese fries on the side. Then on the menu I saw the loaded Philly steak, cheese, onions and mushroom fries. Had to try. So good! Overall dining experience for food was great. Tiny portion, not looking for anything huge but reuben sandwich was tiny. For the same price as nearby diners (example Great Neck Diner) with normal portions. Also no fries at the elevated price. Very stingy. Staff did not check on us at all, while reaching over the table the waitress's tie rested on my fries yuck. On the way out the staff standing by the front door just gave us a blank stare so we had to thank them, wonder if we'd otherwise just walk out in silence while making eye contact. The water smelled as I drank it. So, I stopped. I asked for another water. I put my nose over the rim, took a whiff and that water also smelled. It was not soap. It was a bad bad smell. I was there with a friend and didn't want to be dramatic. So, I stayed for my burger and fries. Besides, the waiter was very nice. I ordered coffee, hoping the heat would kill any smells. Smell was kinda stuck in my nose though. The sesame burger bun looked great, BUT was not soft. The sliced tomatoes were whitish pink - not red. Whenever we go here for our office meetings the wait staff knows we are here for an hour then walk back to the office. Today it seemed a little hectic for the Diner. Our drink menus were taken and we had to wait for the waitress to come back to take food orders almost 25 minutes in. I know i was starting to panic. The food came at 247. I was thinking great time to shove all this food in and make it look lady like!!! One of our staff members said can you just bring us to go plates because our food we will have to take to go. I ordered the manhasset melt. Which had chicken salad melted brie and sliced granny smith apples on a toasted sour dough bread it was delicious! Let me start by saying my chicken salad sandwich I had for lunch was delicious. I have been coming to the landmark diner for my entire life (all 29 years). NEVER have I experienced something so gross. After eating, I discovered several ants running around the edge of table by the wall (by the sugar, ketchup, and salt and pepper shakers). When we notified our waiter about it he replied "oh yea I know, we are waiting for the exterminator to come today". Really!? The nice man at the register took 1/2 off our bill but this was gross and unsanitary. If there are ants on the table what does the kitchen look like!? read more

Was here tonight. My date had a salad which was fine. I had an open roast beef sandwich which included a salad. The roast beef was totally overdone and the roll it was on was actually burnt. This did not include any vegetable and at $ 21.95 I thought this was way overpriced. Have been there many times over the years, but after this time I will reconsider. This diner is in such a unique building. I have wanted to try it for sometime and finally decided to eat here as they have some different options than my local diner. There are different eggs benedict variations, so I tried the Philly steak one. It was good, eggs poached nicely and not too salty. It came with home fries that were fresh tasting but seemed to be cooked in oil... no butter taste. The mac and cheese we ordered was not good tasting. Not cheesy and the sauce was separated. Service was pleasant and efficient by an experienced staff. We were seated at a booth and thought it was a very pleasant place to have Saturday lunch. read more

I came here for dinner with a couple of my friends, it was pretty good. We were seated in a booth on the bottom floor. Our waitress came and brought us some waters quickly, but throughout our dinner she did not come and refill them at all which was disappointing. I ordered the Manhasset Melt for dinner, it was ok. The chicken salad on the inside could've used a bit more salt and the sandwich itself fell apart quite easily. However the bread was very crispy which I liked. Also my friend who got fries with her meal said they were very good. Our waitress, once again, was not attentive and I don't remember her coming to check on us at all during our meal. Check your bill, overcharged with an attitude!Have been eating here for many many years and usually have a good experience but today was not good. Had to keep chasing down the waiter for items and then when I received the bill noticed that I was overcharged for the kids Mac and Cheese. I was there with my 3 kids and ordered 3 kids meals. When I pointed the overcharge out to the cashier/hostess she started accusing me of ordering an adult Mac and Cheese. I told her the waiter could clearly see it was a child and gave me the child's portion. She really got very nasty about it. Haven't been here for a long time and a friend wanted to catch up there for lunch. I was a little disappointed in the sandwich I ordered. It was a Ham, Turkey and Swiss Sandwich on Challah bread. Come to my surprise in was on challah French toast. Thought it'd be on toasted challah bread. It didn't even come with pickles or slaw like other diners. Oh well, live and learn. My opinion of this place changed very quickly in recent months. I had been going there sometimes twice a week because the service was great. One particular waitress, Christina, is extremely nice to all the customers. I don't need to ask for a drink refill or have something wrapped up; she already can anticipate it. Plus she remembers what you previously ordered. She is wonderful and worth the trip The food is meh; I find I always have to send something back for one reason or another but again it's never an issue because Christina is great and makes sure that my fine is hot The owners, however, are extremely unfriendly, at least to me. They will have conversations with other steady customers but not with me. As a matter of fact recently several customers were signing up for a football pool that one of the owners was doing on his own. When I asked to be part of it, he said no. OK- nothing to do with their main business, but my feeling is that my business doesn't mean anything to them and I just choose to go elsewhere. Aside from the fact that this diner is dirty, the prices have truly gotten out of control. A lunch for 4 (including 2 kids meals) should not be $120 at a place like this. Never heard of a diner that charges an additional $5 for a side of fries when you're ordering a $15 sandwich or wrap that should already come with them! Then they have the nerve to charge a 3% credit card fee on top of their inflated prices and that's why I call chutzpah! read more

Great experience for brunch at Landmark. There was ample parking, we were greeted, and shown to a lovely table. The menu has outstanding choices and the coffee was great! Whenever I'm driving down Northern Boulevard, I always spot this gorgeous diner and say to myself, "I still have to go there one day!" Well, I've done it. And it was probably one of the best diner experience I've had. It's a beautiful diner on the outside, two stories tall, but oh the inside surprised me! The decor is so mesmerizing and modern, and the elevator leading to the second floor where my party of five sat was ridiculously cool. The architecture and design alone of this diner should make you want to come here. Now the food, that was even better than how the diner looks. I had such a difficult time choosing which brunch item I wanted, the menu is so vast, and I ended up choosing the Smores Pancakes in the Chef Specials section. They were three pancakes with chocolate chips and graham cracker and marshmallow covering. That description alone should confirm that it was delicious. The wonderful waitress who was a big help in determining what to order was lovely enough to bring me sugar free syrup (gotta lower the calorie count somehow). She was really cool, and made great conversation. My friends ordered the Bullseye Burger, Banana Foster French Toast, and an Asian Cuban Fusion Roast Pork sandwich. The burger came with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle and was very tasty in their opinions, the bananas foster had too much caramel sauce for my other friend and was a bit too rich; however, I thought it was great and that the banana flavored caramel really emphasized the dish. The sandwich was also very well made. We also ordered a vanilla shake which was made with Haagen daaz ice cream, it was so rich and creamy. I definitely recommend this beautiful place with its expansive menu; it was so wonderful with the delicious dishes it offers that I will, without a doubt, be back to stuff my face further! Update: 5/4 Tried the vegan south of the border wrap and it is godly. The tofu in combination with the creaminess of the avocado and hummus was absolute perfection. Found this diner and saw it had three stars. I don't usually write 3 star reviews because I'm not sure what value there is in calling a business average. That said, it's a 3 star diner. It's a nice looking place. The food was good but the service is pretty poor. Most likely the service is related to the Covid 19 labor issues. I came here for brunch recently. First thing I noticed is that the place does not look like a diner. Actually, it looks more like a diner on steroids (I mean that in a good way). The food is acceptable, the service staff is friendly and helpful, but I give this place a 2 because the cashier, a dark haired old woman who I have never seen smile, and who is also, at times, the hostess, has a bad attitude that she takes out on customers. When someone enters who she doesn't want to greet, she turns and wlks away. If she sees somone approaching the cash register to pay a check, who she doeesn't want to help, she turns her back and starts reading a newspaper. I've seen her do this when the owner was standing right next to her. His expression was blank, and he said nothing. Someone else eventually comes to the cash register to take the payment. It's hard to believe that these people are in a hospitality business. There is much rudeness and ill tempered people in our culture these days. To see it in a place that's supposed to be hospitable, is something I prefer to avoid. read more

if i could have given a negative star review on this diner i would have. i have been all around this island and for me to come to one of the most well respected and high end neighborhoods, to walk into an establishment and receive such poor service and manners. ON. MOTHERS. DAY. none the less. there was an older caucasian lady who was the host, when i walked in with my mother and SERVICE DOG the lady gave me an attitude and asked me 'what is she, she don't bark, she don't bite, no tables, no chair' and i just gave the lady a blank stare in reaction to her statement. she then handed us over to an older man who was the manager and he said 'i'll move you guys to a table with a booth' i said 'okay no problem' and then the female waitress with short dark hair with glasses approached my table and said 'what do you guys..' when my mother went to order just coffee and i said OJ, she said 'you need to order you're whole order so i can put it in immediately and all at once' did not say happy mother's day. did not care to be respectful or nice. her attitude was atrocious. i sincerely hope that the owner and manager reads this because you all should be ashamed to be an establishment in that area. customer service is important. please learn manners. read more

One of the hardest things to do these days is think about where you can go eat and not be confronted by the fears of Covid. Landmark has done a great job in making sure that all is safe to catch a meal or just have coffee. The burgers are amazing here. The service is outstanding and the food comes out warm and just good. I visited here for the first time today before reading the reviews. I went with a friend & felt like trying a different restaurant than our usual places. I understand now why the reviews are mixed at best. I expected the food to be: tasty, be high in quality & high in quantity since it's been around a while & is in a high end neighborhood (very close to the Americana Shopping Center). It wasn't cheap. The price was the least of my concern if, again, the taste, quality, & quantity of foods were amazing, but, alas, they were not. The food was on the small/average size, tasted lukewarm to slightly cool. My sandwich was on the dry side & small. There were barely any fries (maybe half a cup's worth, I estimate). Even the bread tasted dry (no butter). My friend & I were both still hungry afterwards. The service was slow, too, but still friendly. I think this place relies on its long history & previously decent reviews. Although this was my first visit, I doubt I'd go back considering the other negative reviews, in addition to my own subpar experience. I expected better. read more

This is a great place to go to if you're craving diner food! Landmark Diner has a spacious parking area and lots of seating as well. I came here last week around lunch time. I ordered the chicken caesar salad and the NY style fries (cheese fries with gravy). My friend got the 5 alarm breakfast panini. The waitress said she'd check, and returned 5 minutes later to say they were out and would I like to re-order something. Now, don't get me wrong. I understand if a restaurant runs out of something, and I'm mature enough to realize that in the scheme of the universe, one meal won't affect the revolution of the Earth. Diner. Having read Jeff H.'s review just before heading out, I was interested to see how they would fare. The place is very nicely done- it almost reminds me of a cruise ship. All glass and chrome and two tiers of seating. Service kind of blew - since I was alone, I sat near the counter area and the guy there was overwhelmed - but I feel he overwhelmed himself. Some lady came in with her 4 kidlets and they were pretty well behaved while sitting at the counter - the guy working the counter though seemed more intent on sucking up for a tip than checking the rest of us sitting in the 2-seaters along the wall. He was cutting the kids food up and all - gimme a break- I really started to feel like I was on a cruise... Granted - the mom was a milf- but hey, I need my damn coffee... That aside - the coffee was good- very large cups, when you can get them to notice you and forget refills until you are just about done. Portions are huge and I really, really wanted to give them the 3rd star but that guy was aggravating me - and I *really* like my coffee in the morning! The Landmark is what I would call a serviceable Diner. It does all the things you expect from a diner - decent breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, etc - nothing that made me go OMG I need to keep coming back for this! This place is huge so I don't think I ever came here and had to wait for a table, which is a good thing. It is so huge that it has an elevator so it's like a multi-floor dining factory - it accommodates larger parties. As others have mentioned perhaps the prices are on the higher side of diners so maybe that is why this place gets middling reviews overall - most people want to feel they are getting a great deal! I never felt that way here. This is one of the duller reviews I had to write. How do you convey the notion of something being ok and good enough when you aren't particularly inspired. If you are in the area and looking for a diner meal the Landmark should fit the bill. read more
