Landmark is down the street from me. I went here last week with a friend. I really enjoyed the vibe and decor. We ordered calamari for an appetizer which was decent. I got the short rib for dinner. Been here twice. First time had dinner with the fam. Decent but not mind blowing food. I wouldnt describe the menu as very courageous. My old fashioned was ok but a little too sweet. Service was spotty but they recently opened so that happens. Second time i went in was to order takeout and have a drink. I sat at the second bar for almost 10 minutes and was ignored. I visited Landmark on two occasions. Both times with large parties. There was a small mixup the first time which was handled professionally and to my, and my group's, satisfaction. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the music was at the perfect level. On my second visit, I noticed what I know to be a juke box. We put dollars in and enjoyed music that we had selected. My friends all tell me that the appetizers were delicious! They raved about the potato skins. I didn't try any; I've been a pescatarian for early three years. I must say that I was delighted to see that the venue offered lobster Mac and cheese and decided to give it a try. On both visits they were out of lobster. On visit number 1, Molly, our waitress, informed me right away that they were out of lobster. On visit number 2, I again ordered the Mac and cheese and our waitress, who I assume to be fairly new, didn't check in with me about my meal at all until inquired nearly 45 minutes later. I asked if I could special order salmon with the Mac and cheese instead. She told me that she would check. I'm guessing that she didn't check because sometime around 10:30 she delivered to me a plain old bowl of Mac and cheese. I asked again about the salmon. She ventured off to check on it and came back pretty quickly this time to let me know that the kitchen was closed. Now that just really sucked! To ease my frustration I asked for another Sweet Dottie, a delicious mixture of rum and some other heavenly magic the bartender whipped up, and she explained that they were out of that as well. Now that was a pain in the tailbone. Overall my friends and I ABSOLUTELY love this quaint restaurant and appreciate that it's so close to home. In the future, I do hope that the kitchen and bar can keep enough supply to handle the demand. read more

We waited 45 minutes for a seat and never received a text like they said. We ordered a couple of cocktails - one being the triple deckah which I have had at Boston Harbor Distillery and all three liquors are from there. Both cocktails were almost undrinkable - the sangria tasted like straight cranberry juice and it tasted like the Triple Deckah had no rye in it and tasted like a watered down White Russian - this is was so bad and not good representation of the local drinks from the distillery. If they knew they would pull it from the restaurant. The food took forever - however the manager was really good and gave us a drink - ordered beer and wine to be safe. Went over the winter and it was LOUUUUUD. Couldn't hear a thing. Went back last night for trivia. Was hoping the acoustics were improved. We got a seat around the corner from the trivia guy. We couldn't see him but we thought we'd be able to hear him. All we heard was static. The speaker on the other side of the restaurant either wasn't on or wasn't good. We tried to get a table closer to the trivia guy but when we looked around the corner at him, he had the mic practically inside his mouth. No wonder why we couldn't hear him. Bad acoustics. Bad PA. Trivia guy who doesn't know the basics of a mic--you don't have your mouth on it when speaking. We paid for our one drink and left. Won't be going back. read more

Went there the other night, place is very nice inside and in an up and coming area. Parking is difficult but you should be able to find spaces in the 2 hour parking lot near bsc sports. I ordered the steak tips, however wanted to switch my side of fries for mashed potatoes (same price for each side on the menu) which they said they can't do yet because they are still new? I was a little annoyed. Steak tips were eh. Waitress was nice. The party with me had nothing to complain about but the food was nothing to go crazy for. Hopefully this place just fixes the tweaks and becomes a go to spot. read more

Went with three friends to watch the game. The host was nice enough and let us choose our table which was great! Unfortunately our server was not good. She left us with empty drinks for about 25-30 minutes, we also noticed and spoke to another table about the slow service although the place was surprisingly not busy. She rushed over when she realized we were conversing with other tables about needing another round and she walked over and shrugged and said sorry. We stacked our plates for her to take and when she finally arrived she didn't touch them or remove them from our table which was already cramped. We had several empty drink glasses too that she didn't remove. When she finally returned with the check we asked if she could take the plates and she just walked away. I asked for change for a 20 dollar bill to tip and she only brought me back 18 dollars. Then she returned and said she dropped some of the cash on the floor? It's not that hard to make sure drinks are full and dirty plates don't sit at the table. We watched the entire game and had the appetizer plates sitting there for the entire time! read more

We live in the neighborhood and are so lucky to have a great new addition. It is a great vibe in there and the wait is never too long. We love the pizza and hope they do take out soon. The scallops are good and the blackened chicken pasta is good. I love the Moscow mules and the bartenders are great. The appetizers are great- we've gotten the buffalo chicken rangoons and the pretzel bites. We have been a few times and great service except for one time. Sadly, the food is overshadowed by the poor customer service. No substitutions are allowed on menu items. This means that if you have an allergy to something included in a dish, they'll remove it from the dish, but they won't let you substitute something equal. For example, someone in our party wanted spinach instead of the green beans offered with the chicken, but was told that is not possible. The person was instead told that she should feel free to pay for a separate side of spinach if she want to do so. Another person in the group wanted Swiss cheese and mushrooms on his burger, when the menu calls for American cheese and lettuce/tomato. He was, of course, expecting to pay for the mushrooms given that they were not included on the menu, but was told he could neither substitute the Swiss cheese for the American, nor add the mushrooms, even at an additional cost. He cancelled his burger order entirely rather than accept something he didn't want. Treating customers in such a poor manner is no way for a new establishment to build a business. If you find yourself in Adams Corner looking for a place to eat, I wouldn't waste your time here. Head to Blasi's or Molinari's instead. read more

Not sure why Adams corner needs another "me too" place. It's a cute space but I'm not excited about anything in particular there. Food is overpriced for what you get and I was expecting a really solid beer selection. The beers offered were your typical everyday varieties. They supposedly have a mug club but places that offer those usually have a comprehensive selection of beer. Having Allagash White on the beer menu doesn't make you a place that knows beer. The place has potential but just needs to reassess, look at the competition, and differentiate itself a bit more. read more

We have eaten here twice and I would give it four stars except for the noise level. It was so loud we couldn't carry on a normal conversation. The third time we came it was 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Landmark Public House is an amazing addition to the neighborhood ! The restaurant itself is very warm and inviting. The decor they added to pay tribute to the city itself is an added touch. Went in for brunch today, much better experience than my last one! The waitress (Kelly) was attentive and quick to help with all our needs. I ordered the eggs benedict and it was cooked perfectly- my friend got fried eggs and potatoes, and said some of her potatoes were not cooked enough, mine seemed fine, I loved the onions in them. The staff here is amazing and the food is even better, they treat you like gold, even when the place is packed. We messed up our order, totally our fault and Kelly let us fix our order after the food came out no questions asked. They have live music on thursdays and the prices are great. 10/10. Went there with my family for a birthday dinner. First thing you notice when you walk in the door at 7 p.m. on Thursday night is, the noise. It was loud in the restaurant . There are many TVs showing sporting events for our viewing pleasure . There were five of us seated at a 6 top, it was a little tight. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. The Mrs. & I stopped by after an exhausting day, it was our first time here and the first thing that stood out was the open brick walls and the finished carpentry work, the lady at the bar welcomed us with a huge smile and asked would we like to sit at bar or grab a table, we opted for the table service as we wanted a low top table, after a few minutes our waitress took our drink order and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu. The Mrs. ordered the Landmark Smash Burger with bacon and I got the Black Bean Veggie Burger, whatever the secret sauce is on the Smash burger my Mrs. couldn't get enough of it, we asked our waitress Kelly (although I think she was the manager as she was running other peoples food and drinks amongst other stuff) what was in the sauce, she politely grinned and said if she told us we'd never come back! Overall great place, great food and Kelly was a great waitress, well worth a visit and we'll be back, next time we want to try the delicious looking pizzas. read more

Excellent service at Landmark tonight. Came in with two rowdy kids and was seated quickly and taken care of completely during my stay. The food is really good and I've never had a meal I didn't like. My favorite thing about this place, though, is the service- I've had a different waiter each time and he/she is always so attentive and polite. Makenzie prompted this review after making dinner out with two kids slightly more bareable. I was impressed to learn the management team regularly checks in to make sure you're all set. Overall a great time. Looking forward to coming back to Landmark many times in the future for more great experiences. read more

:( Ate here for the second time since it opened. First time was right after it opened and it was pretty good -- a welcome option in the neighborhood for breakfast. Well, I guess time changed everything for the worse because everything seemed to go downhill. Food took a LONG time over an hour for breakfast to come out and there were only 4 tables of people eating! We ordered french toast, breakfast pizza, and omelet. Waitress seemed a little unsure what she was doing, and wasn't super attentive. At one point, someone from my table went to her and asked whether there was something wrong with the order. She later explained that there was a new "chef" in the kitchen. Using the term "chef" is a long shot. You see, this place is clearly heating up frozen food and serving it (alarm bells to Gordon Ramsay), which explains why it's so bland, and also why the "chef" couldn't make an omelet. I know that this is not an order-off-the-menu place so in their defense that is probably why it took so long. At the same time, it's an omelet. Look, I don't mind a wait if the food is really good in the end, but this was far from good. Breakfast pizza was dry and had no flavor. French toast seemed microwaved, soggy, and shriveled. Omelet was burnt. I also overheard another table complaining that their biscuits were still frozen in the center and gravy was cold. Orange juice was warm. I don't know about you but I can easily stay home, microwave a frozen meal, and have warm orange juice without paying for it and stay in my pajamas and slippers. Wont be back again. read more

I was wondering for a week or two about whether or not i was going to say anything about this incident that i witnessed while at the bar here. I am not sure of what the situation was but while i was enjoying a few drinks with friends i had noticed a distraught server over at the other end of the bar. Immediately following her over to the bar was another woman, whom i have seen here as a server before, had sped after her and grabbed her by her hair and screamed at her. This situation made me extremely uncomfortable to watch seeing as i was not able to do anything about it. However It made me really upset to see and i am hoping action was taken. Just want to say that me and my boyfriend received excellent service here. The waitress was very nice, attentive, and the manager Joe stopped by and seemed to be very interested in our feedback. We started with the chicken tender app. The Teriyaki sauce was a bit sour and the tenders a bit soggy, but! The drinks were soooo good and the fish and chips were amazing and my boyfriend got the free range chicken, and it was really good. Definitely will come back here. My food was okay/tasty, scallops with mushroom risotto but there was not enough. Served on a bread plate size plate, plenty of risotto , but only 4 medium size scallops. Very disappointing. My companion had the salmon plate. That serving was also small. I took the prime rib au jus sandwich home for my husband. I wouldn't call the meat inside (only 3 thin slices) prime rib, more like plain roast beef and it was gray in color, not the least bit appetizing. One final thing, I wanted ice tea, they were all out of it. No one else in the place and its the end of June and all out of ice tea. Here's an idea....make some. Update: Tony, the manager of the Landmartk, reached out to me and invited me to return to his establishment, assuring me that changes had been made. What was especially professional was that Tony reported that even negative reviews are helpful! We returned on a Friday evening relatively early and had a very different, and very positive, experience. Went with a fiend and we both enjoyed, again, the fried asparagus appetizer - a can't miss! We both ordered the scallops with risotto this time - the dinners were excellent! Enjoyed leftovers the next day! The atmosphere is lovely - it is a fun, local restaurant! I was glad to see that, although the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent. So I take this experience - as a reminder to myself as well as others - to give a restaurant a second chance before writing them off! I also want to thank Tony for reaching out and to let him know that hIs efforts were greatly appreciated - we'll be back! First the white wine was warm - really warm - and it was the smallest glass of wine I've ever been served. The appetizer - fried asparagus spears - was very good. Both entrees were a disappointment - pork tenderloin tasted of "chemicals" - couldn't actually identify the spices or seasoning used. The short ribs were dry and tasteless. I don't like vegetables soggy but the baby carrots weren't close to being done - and most included 1/2" of stem! Mashed potatoes were loaded with scallions - but also rather tasteless. Upon being seated we were greeted with "because this is the soft opening, there are no substitutions. If you want to try anything different - like a different vegetable - you can order it extra and be charged for it." Decor was very nice and service was decent but I doubt we'd go back. read more

Seeing all the wonderful transition that has been going on in Dorchester over the last few years, I was excited for yet another neighborhood spot. I decided to give this place a little bit to work out the kinks of a new restaurant, but I was disappointed tonight. The host staff was nice enough, if not a bit disinterested. Our waitress was lovely and I appreciated how she tried to connect with me and my friend and engaged us in conversation without being too burdensome. But that's where the good stuff ends. The food wasn't much to write home about, but I'll always return to a restaurant if the ambience is good. Unfortunately, as my meal continued, there was a large group at the bar that were standing within inches of each other, but still felt the need to talk VERY loudly and started to encrouch on our table space. That made it very hard for me and my friend to enjoy our conversation and rest of our meal. It was a bit too boisterous for a Tuesday. So, I wasn't really feeling the vibe and doubt this will be in my list of fave DOT spots. read more

This my first yelp review and I hesitated about writing it because it was negative and with all the great dining options in Boston I'm not giving props to the places that are raising the bar. Anyway I went to Landmark a while back with a friend and we had some drinks and apps at the bar. First impression was the space was beautiful and very comfortable. Our first encounter was two girls who were sitting beside us at the bar and they voiced some frustration about the bartender because they had asked for a cocktail and the bartender had added a maraschino cherry when the drink called for a luxor cherry and he shrugged them off when they suggested (nicely) that the bar up its game and spend some money on upgrading the cocktail ingredients, especially with the money the owners invested in the renovations and the menu/cocktail list. I asked for a glass of sauvignon blanc and when it arrived it was warm. I took a couple of sips and then asked the bartender if I could possibly switch to a red wine given the temp of the white wine. I wasn't familiar with the labels listed and asked if he could suggest one, his response was "I'm a bud guy, what do I know about wines"... Its kind of like a cardiac surgeon saying he doesn't know about hearts as he is about to operate on yours. At least that's what I wanted to say but we drank our drinks and left and haven't been back. With all of these beautiful spaces opening in the neighborhood it is just a pity that the same care can't be poured into the food/drinks. read more
