Order: Tod Tod Platter: Pork belly, calamari, garlic chicken wings, beef jerky and tom yum fries. jerky, pork belly and the fries were the highlight of the dish. individuals in my party liked the calamari. jerky was sweet, just a little bit smoky with a chewy texture. pork belly was more fried than roasted? but the skin was not crunchy. for both of these, it can be tough meats. Fries were tangy than spicy, from lemongrass or lime. Lao Royal: Tilapia, duck curry, papaya salad, Lao sausage, beef jerky, wings, vermicelli, sticky rice, leafy greens and herbs. the individuals in my party loved the tilapia, lots of meat, tender and not dry. duck curry was more soupy, pieces of duck were soggy lacking flavor. sausage had a yellow appearance of a curry that was not expected. Enjoyed the sticky rice and had to order another one. Happy hour is from 5:00-7:00 on Monday-Saturday, and all day on Friday. Drinks, appetizers, and oysters are part of the deal. Menu can be overwhelming so there are 2 preset entree options at the top including 1 appetizer combo. Server provided recommendations for the food. Elegant dining experience with colorful lamps, big area for patrons with lots of tables and so bar seating with TVs. good place for a casual hangout.

What a treat! Exceptional service! Not only did we get seated right away. As soon as we ordered, the food came out within a few minutes! Everything complemented each other. The place is beautiful with traditional Lao atmosphere. Rich vibrant colors. Full bar! Lots of amazing cocktails. Will def be back!

LOVE this place!! It's honestly so rare to find Lao food that feels this high-quality and truly authentic. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. Their happy hour platter deal is such a steal, it comes with oysters, sausage, chicken wings, and calamari, and the cocktails are only $7 (beers even cheaper). Amazing value for how good the food is. The vibe is always lively, and the staff are consistently warm and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. Pro tip: go with a group so you can try more of the menu. I also love that many dishes come with fresh leafy greens so you can wrap everything - it adds the perfect fresh crunch and makes the meal even more fun and delicious. Definitely one of my go-to spots for great food and good vibes! My favorite dishes are the platter, fried rice, crispy spring rolls with leafy greens, papaya salad, and so much more :)

Service was friendly and efficient. Wait time after ordering was quick! Especially on a busy Friday night. The food was tasty and beware of spicy. Medium spicy was spicy for me. Ambiance is clean and busy. Fun spot after work.

I came with a friend on a weekend night on the later side and there were not many people inside. It's a nice environment right in FiDi, and the plates are beautifully decorated for sure -- but I unfortunately didn't really love the food, We got a coconut curry which had good flavor but the meat inside was a bit too sinewy and also it was small portion size-- we kind of finished it in a few bites. As you can see, the leaves take up half the plate. We also got a bamboo salad and was excited to try it but I honestly couldn't eat much of it, was actually very spicy and also the raw vegetables on the side wasn't the most appealing. I assume some other things on the menu are better but definitely wasn't our day. My friend and I both agreed that the service was friendly but the food was so-so and overpriced for the sizes

Ive been here twice and I want to love this place! But not everything on the menu is a hit They have a great happy hour menu if u can make it in time, and I recommend going the family-style option because some dishes are very small. Highlights: - spicy crispy rice appetizer: this was a hit! it is VERY spicy though as someone who can tolerate alot! But its a great sharing size for a group of 2-4 people - the fried fish is crispy and delicious with a great sauce. But there is not that much meat on the fish itself - the tom yum is a bit watery and does not have a strong flavor, but it comes out on an open flame and is very shareable - the curry rice portion is super super small for the amount of curry that is provided. We had to get an extra rice. The curry is not super spicy and did not have as much depth of flavor Overall, I would come again but just for the crispy rice appetizer!

We came here on Friday night for dinner. We had a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. Service-wise, our server was very friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. The ambiance was lively and loved the decor. We ordered: - "Tang-Mo" Watermelon Peanut Salad - I was initially skeptical about the combination, but I ended up really liking this! The juiciness and slight sweetness of the watermelon, really played will with the sightly sour and flavorful sauce, which made it taste very good! - Garlic Wings - It was pretty good, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside and flavor was good, but nothing too out of this world. - Khaw Kai Noodles - The noodles were delicious and after adding the sauce, it really set off the taste very well. The chicken was also delicious and flavorful. - Spicy Thai Basil Chicken - Flavor-wise, this was delicious, but when we got it, the dish was not very warm or very spicy, which was a bummer. Overall, we had a great time and will be back in the future to try more items from the menu!

This place absolutely exceeded my expectations. The place is primarily Vietnamese but you would find Thai flavours. Such a wide variety of items in here - and everything is finger licking good. I absolutely had a feast here. I got Chicken Friend rice and it was good - not the best but above average. For the table fish platter was also exquisite. I can't recall which fish was that but it was really great..it also came up with so.many other item such as chicken wings. The seafood sizzling tom yum probably tasted the best. Thoughly enjoyed it. The Belgian beer they server was one of the best. In isolation probably every food I tried, I can find a better and slightly tastier version but a single place delivering and maintaining above average food quality over such a wide spectrum is rare. The ambience and environment was great. The place became super noisy later in the evening but it was so much fun dining out here.

We came for lunch midday on a Friday and were sat instantly! The space inside is huge and the ceilings are so tall, it was the perfect place for a nicer lunch to catch up with coworkers. I was a little worried based on other reviews that the portions would be small for the price, but I was pleasantly surprised when our dishes came and the portions were MASSIVE! The rice dishes came with 2+ cups of rice and my Pad Mee Lao Prawns was enough for 2.5 meals. Flavor was great as well - nothing mind blowing but I was definitely happy with what I got. And on Fridays, they have happy hour all day. We didn't get anything off of the happy hour menu, but I would definitely try coming for happy hour next time.

Service was quick and efficient. Portions were quite small for the price. Chicken satay with peanut sauce was my favorite. Pineapple fried rice was delicious. The "Curry" wild duck did not taste anything like curry at all. It was more like wild duck with OIL. Mango sticky rice and shaved ice was good. We kind of wished there was more mango sticky rice than the shaved ice.

The ambiance is beautiful and inviting. I love the decor and soft purple and pink lighting. The restaurant is great for groups as you can order large platters of the samples - trying a bit of everything whether meat or seafood. We ordered the Garden Fish - Crispy whole tilapia, Lao sausage, beef jerky, garlic chicken wings, peanut papaya salad paired with vermicelli, sticky rice, leafy greens and soft herbs. We also ordered the Original Lao Platter: fried chicken, larb duck Pakxe, "Tom Zaab" hot & spicy beef soup, Lao sausage, pad mee Lao paired with sticky rice and soft herbs. It was enough to feed six! Service was a little slow - you really have to get their attention because it's so busy. But they did a nice dessert presentation for my mom's birthday. Also try the Tom Yum Beer that was brewed in partnership with the restaurant!

Came here for lunch before catching a bus at the transit center next door. The restaurant is spacious, and the staff were quick and attentive. I ordered the noodles & chicken, and wasn't overly impressed. The noodles were soggy and I found there were too many bean sprouts in the dish. The flavors were also pretty flat, without much spice or variety. The prices were also on the higher side, even for SF. Definitely not a bad place, but I think the prices would turn me away from coming back.

    Ask the Community - LaoTable

Is the menu for lunch and dinner the same, or does lunch have a smaller offering?

    How busy on weekdays?

I went on a weekday and the place was not busy. If you have a large party I would recommend calling to make a reservation.

Is it easy to find parking?

There's a parking garage across the street in an alley.

Does Lao Table have Keto friendly options?

Absolutely! They have many meat/poultry dishes (over veggies, for example).

    Is kids friendly?

There are no particular efforts from the restaurants to entertain kids. Most of the diners are adults. The food has a kick, which might be a little bit too spicy for kids.

How bad is the wait time for lunch on weekends?

If you make a reservation you are all set and it isn't hard to make one even the day before. Great restaurant!

Do they still have the $1.00 oyster happy hour?

Yes! Every Monday to Friday 16:30 to 19:00.

The wings were quite small, but we got 10 flats. Tasty, but not too spicy. Comparable to the wings you'd get from San Tung or Korean fried chicken wings. 4/5 CHAMPA SAMPLER ~ Lao sausages, fried rice ball salad, & fried spring rolls. Tasty generous platter! I think this was the highlight of our meal. 5/5 LARP LAO STYLE (Duck) SALAD ~ prepared with mint, onions, fish paste, cilantro & Thai eggplants. Alone, the duck is pretty salty. But eating it with the provided lettuce and herbs balanced the flavors and cut the saltiness. Unique and bold flavors. 4/5 PAD THAI ~ thin rice noodles, tamarind, eggs, bean sprouts, and chicken. We always pass by this place as my kids go to the music school on the same block. We finally had a chance to try the food on a Friday night. The food was unexpectedly delicious. Por laos - I really liked it. Highly recommend if you want a twist of the typical spring rolls. Chicken satay - it's one of the best ones I have, especially from a restaurant at this price point. The chicken breast was on the slightly thicker side, which give us a meaty and satisfying satay. The meat was perfectly cooked and juicy and tender. And they served with the spot on satay sauce. I do wish we get more cucumber salad though. But that's more like my personal preference. Soft shell crab - this is the dish that really won us over. Not only they fried the soft shell crab to perfection, they used quality ingredient as well. (We had been in restaurants before where we got fishy soft shell crab - even after they were deep fried to death.). My kids always wanted to try soft shell crab and they loved it after having their first bit over here. I didn't expect to have this perfect soft shell crab here in a small Thai/Laotian restaurant. Yellow curry w/ chicken - fairly standard yet delicious. I do have to praise the staff for being thoughtful. I forgot to ask for mild when I placed the order. I was so worried that the curry will be too spicy for our table. But apparently the staff made the adjustment for us when they saw us coming with two young kids. Kudos for that! Pad see ew with beef - it's on the sweeter side. We got generous portion of beef in this economy! :) I think this place is a pretty good value. We left with a happy and full belly. At the entrance, one of the hosts, who I believe was named Victor, was extremely rude about our stroller. We were told that we could not bring the stroller inside, which we were willing to accept. However, instead of politely asking us to unlock it or move it ourselves, he physically blocked my wife while she was holding our baby and then forcefully tried to push the stroller himself. The stroller was locked at the time, and if I had not stepped in quickly to stop him and unlock it, it could have been damaged. His behavior was aggressive, careless, and completely inappropriate, especially toward a family with an infant. He then moved our stroller to a storage area in the back. Later, because the restaurant was extremely loud and our baby started crying, we wanted to get a toy from the stroller to comfort our child. At first, the same host refused and again physically blocked my wife. Only after we repeatedly asked were we finally allowed to retrieve the toy from our own stroller. After we sat down and were preparing to order, our baby was still crying because the noise level inside the restaurant was extremely high. A female server, who I believe was named Katie, made us feel extremely uncomfortable, unwelcome, and singled out. She first appeared to whisper with the host while looking at us, which made us feel judged and disrespected. Then, in front of us, she told my wife to take our crying baby outside. I questioned why we were being targeted when the restaurant itself was already very loud, with many guests speaking loudly around us. She claimed this was the restaurant's "policy," but when I asked to see the policy, she could not provide it. What made the situation even worse was the attitude. Instead of showing basic empathy or professionalism toward a family with a baby, some staff members were dismissive, arrogant, and treated us in a way that made us feel discriminated against, humiliated, and unwelcome as a family with a baby. I have never experienced this kind of service at a restaurant before, especially not at a restaurant with Michelin-level pricing and expectations. To be fair, the Asian server who later took our order was polite and professional. However, by that point, the overall experience had already been ruined. The food itself was only average in my opinion and did not feel worth the nearly $200 we spent for two people. It definitely did not meet the standard I would expect from a Michelin-recognized restaurant. I will not return, and I would strongly caution families with babies or young children to think twice before dining here. Some of the staff's attitude toward families was unacceptable, and our experience made us feel deeply disrespected. Ratings: Food: 2/5 Service: 1/5 Atmosphere: 1/5 Overall: 1/5

Salads are usually so unremarkable, but I'm still thinking about the Tea Leaf Salad even a week later. I never remember a salad I've eaten but this is such a great salad. Must get!! The Burmese curry was so so flavorful! So rich, its a flavor bomb in your mouth. Must Get!! The garlic noodles were just okay. Don't get me wrong, they were pretty good, but just fell short in comparison to all the other amazing dishes we had! I wish we ordered something else instead because their other dishes seemed much more unique and distinct. I'm usually not a fan of rice but their coconut rice was great! Also very flavorful and great texture. We were a party of six so we got a reservation beforehand. Service was great, everything was great. I'm definitely coming again and telling everyone I know to eat here.

Ok let's be honest. I go here for the food. The ambiance is a little insanely busy, loud and not…read morespecial.. so my new thing is taking it to go. I love the flavors and if i had a million dollars Îd eat here every day.. but $24 for a soup and $24 for a salad, in my book, is theft. I still pay for it though because the flavors are bomb. The samosa soup when im sick is just what the doctor ordered. The tea leaf salad and the 22 ingredient one is also. When I'm not doing food reviews, I am posting videos about restaurants and cafes on tiktok @BayBitesNSips and when I'm not doing that, I am making handmade jewelry - I'd be so grateful if you visited my Etsy shop: MLEColorshop (or shared it with a friend who might enjoy my creations. )

Between our group, we got Sakoo, Nam Khao, Fried Clear Rice Roll Wraps, Sai Oua (Lao Sausages), Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Kee Mao, and a large side of Sticky Rice. Of the dishes, the Nam Khao was a standout favorite for me. I loved how crispy and crunchy the fried rice was in the dish. There were so many layers of flavors and textures from the fish sauce, the peanuts, and the fermented sour pork. If there's one dish you must order when you stop by here, it's this one. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Sai Oua; I get this dish whenever I see it at restaurants. Although I've had Lao sausages which were very heavy in lemongrass flavor, the ones here did not have the same flavor profile. Instead, the ones here leaned more towards the spicy side. The crispy pork belly was another standout dish for me. If you enjoy Filipino lechon or Cantonese siu yuk, this is another must-order dish. The pork is well seasoned and has the perfect ratio of lean to fatty parts. Overall, I had wonderfully delicious meal. I would certainly recommend coming as a large group so you're able to order a wide variety of dishes. If you're looking for something to really excite your taste buds, head over to Bhan Mae Vane.

Nam khao - the flavors are nice and doesn't feel too heavy. The fermented pork is light and the peanuts and rice make up a lot of the texture. the rice is crispy, but it is the type of crispy where it sticks together. - pork rinds were fluffy crispy - juicy wings - fresh flavorful sausage - crispy and juicy pork belly Service:3.8 Ambiance:3.5 Food:4.5 The food came out quickly, but the service was slow. They were slow to refill waters.
