The ambiance was very intimate, low lights, light music, even had a live piano player by the entrance. Shoutout to our host, waiter, server, Craig whom you can tell absolutely loves his job!! Made us feel welcomed and at home. He suggested I order the red wine reduction topper on my wagyu and it did not disappoint! The bread, amazing! The asparagus, it was cool, it was soft and I prefer mine with a little crunch, but the taste/flavor was still there! The steak itself, cooked to perfection, I got the 16oz New York Strip American Wagyu (medium-well). The birthday dessert, banana butter cake, PHENOMENAL!!! Grateful to have a local steakhouse with not so bad pricing. It has been a while, but I decided to leave a review because this was the worst experience I've had. I ordered a dozen oysters, and three of them were dead and had a strong, unpleasant smell. I immediately brought it to the manager's attention. He apologized and told me he would remove those oysters from the bill, but when the check arrived, they were still included. My wife didn't want to make a big deal out of it, so I just paid the bill since we had already eaten the other nine oysters. However, serving spoiled oysters is unacceptable, and failing to honor what the manager promised made the experience even more disappointing. My wife and I came here last night to celebrate our 7 years anniversary of our first date. I made reservations off OpenTable and the process was simple. We been to the other Larsen location in the valley and the Valencia location was the last one to cross off the list. When we arrived, they sat us quickly in the main dining area. It is dark inside here compared to other Larsen location. Our waiter was Darrell and he was amazing. His positive energy and overall knowledge on the menu was great. He came with the amazing bread that was so soft and also hot out of the oven. My wife got her Chilean Sea Bass which is her favorite to get here and I got the 8oz filet mignon. We got the Mac and cheese for our side to share. Our food came out quick and it was delicious. You can never go wrong with the Sea Bass and my Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly. We finish off the night with the Banana Foster Butter Cake that they give for our anniversary. The food here was so good! I had the striped sea bass with chimichurri sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. Everything was packed with flavor and tasted super fresh. My husband got the lamb chops with their new apple chutney sauce, and he was a big fan! The restaurant itself had a nice vibe dim lighting, cute table setup, and it felt like it was meant to be romantic. Now, the service... not so great. Our server stood a little too close while we were looking at the menu and hovered over the table onto the menu, which made both me and my husband uncomfortable. After that, he didn't check on us much, which was surprising since we've had better service at other high end steakhouses. It was also the night of the final Dodgers game, and all the TVs near the bar were showing it. The crowd was loud, so our "romantic dinner" turned into more of a game night atmosphere. The meal started with complementary bread that was fresh baked and really tasty. Darell recommended the spinach, crab, and cheese dip with chips as an appetizer. It was delicious. My wife and I split a 16oz ribeye that was perfectly cooked and tasted really good. We all split the creamed corn, brussels sprouts, and mashed sweet potatoes as our sides. My wife and I spent our 30 yr anniversary here on the 10th. I must say feom the moment you walk into their establishment, its 1st Class serive all the way. Dilian was out waiter and he was awesome!!. The next day I received a call from Nicole who wanted to check up on our visit. Never have I gotten a call like this making sure our visit was pleasant. Larsen's is by far the best steakhouse in Santa Clarita. I usually eat here when i'm passing through town so i'm alone at the bar and they make you feel at home. I thought the live piano player would be awkward but it works. Good food. Great specials. Nice touch. Nice people. Nice servers. Nice bartenders. Recently they had a special going for a filet mignon and a glass of wine for $50. When a filet mignon is going for $20 a pop in a costco value pack to get a full meal prepared for you with a filet and a glass of good wine for $50 is a solid option. The chicken was overpriced and did not taste special. I question whether the chef is really a chef and has a culinary degree. Any ol' cook could make the chicken I got. I resent that the server stands there, next to the table, while you fill out the tip on his device. It's intimidating. This trip to Larsen's was by far our best experience to date. I have been to the Valencia and Encino locations many times but have never been motivated to review Larsen's. So what changed? First and foremost was the service. Eli and Craig were absolutely fantastic and took great care of my family, especially given that we were celebrating an important occasion. The second (and probably the most important) was the quality and taste of the food. So what did we love and what was just ok? I'm glad I asked myself that question...here we go. We ordered the seafood tower and the charcuterie board. While the seafood was fresh, there wasn't much taste. I am comparing this to my experience when ordering a similar tower at Mastro's or Ruth's Chris. Perhaps I was just craving something to dip the shrimp, crab, or lobster into? The clarified butter was ok but needed a bit of salt, and maybe an aioli or similar dip/cocktail sauce would have helped. I ate most of the seafood without anythuing but it was definitely missing salt. The charcuterie board on the other hand had a nice blend of delicious cheeses and meats and we ate both appetizers. The real stars of our meal were unexpected since they weren't steak or meat. Several people got the Miso Cod and it was absolutely delicate and delicious. The sauce was heavenly, and the fish was tender and melted in your mouth. I also had the branzino special with lobster on top (in a lemon beurre blanc sauce), and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Another surprise for the night were the sides, with the creamed spinach and crispy brussel sprouts being our favorites (and getting devoured). I think the sides at Larsen's are much better than similar steakhouses, so make sure to try them. What made the creamed spinach so good was that it actually felt like you were eating spinach that was enhanced by the cream rather than being overwhelmed by it. The flavor and texture of the spinach wasn't lost like it tends to be elsewhere. The truffle fries were also very good. Desserts were ok with the bananas foster butter cake being the clear winner. The cheesecake was also great, and the creme brulee was good but nothing special. Our least favorite was the chocolate mousse cake mostly because it didn't seem like a chocolate mousse cake or sper chocolatey like we expected. That being said we still ate it, because apparently we are unable to leave desserts uneaten. I'm told that is rude and who am I to insult cake? Overall we had a great meal at Larsen's, which was elevated by our dining and service experience, in addition to our meal choices. read more

Im someone who constantly comes here and I would say the last 7 months there has been a huge drop in the quality of drinks. The Bartendars really are not as knowledgeable and most drinks get returned, I haven't ordered any alcoholic drinks the past 3 months now as a result. I get bottle of water and each one is 12$. We discovered Larsen's Happy Hour recently and went twice while entertaining guests from out of town. The rich elegant decor and aesthetically lighted dark interior set the stage for delicious items we ordered to eat. The wedge salad was divine with loads of chopped pecans, blue cheese and bacon. The prime rib French dip on a crusty roll with au jus and grilled onions was so good we had to go back again at the end of the week. Celebrating a birthday there was a joy, a large piece of bananas foster butter cake and ice cream in a large wide rimmed bowl with Happy Birthday written in large letters around the rim with a candle on top. The line was out the door since it was Valentine's Day. Our server, Christian, was outstanding, and so was each appetizer and entrees that followed. The bread basket was a sweet start to our dinner. The bread was soft and delicious. One of the best bread baskets I've had. Our appetizers were the Filet Mignon Sashimi, the Cajun Shrimp, and the steamed clams and mussels, all were very good! My husband and I also had the lobster bisque and it was divine. Our main dishes were the 12 Oz prime dry aged filet with herb crusted Bleu cheese topping, and my husband had the Wagyu special with the lobster tail addition. Made a reservation for an early Friday night dinner, the boyfriend and I decided that it was a "treat ourselves" date night. Located near a parking structure, parking is easy to find with a few minute walk to the restaurant. When we arrived, we got seated promptly and was greeted by our server. We started our dinner with a seafood tower. We are not big fans of stone crab and mussels so we substitute it with more shrimp and oysters. I got the baked potato soup. We got a ribeye shared, we also ordered the hash brown sides. The steak was good but we were getting full from the seafood tower. The petite size seafood tower is more like a 4 person portion. We had gotten 10 oyster and 10 shrimps and 1 lobster tail. A big fan of the hash brown that came with sour cream and ketchup. Ask them to make it crispy. Good food, horrible service. I went with my parents and we were sat down within 5 minutes like normal. However there were 4 gentlemen behind the bar, 4 tables with patrons, and 3 people at the bar, (I am in the restaurant as I write this review.) Josiah was our server and took about 5 minutes to approach us, he came and dropped off water and then took about 10 minutes to bring us a beer. Took another 5 minutes to bring a Shirley temple (mind you there are 4 gentlemen behind the bar) and the bar area is not busy. So we ask him to put our order in and he immediately gives attitude. I understand it is a customer service position and stress sometimes affects your service but I didn't feel we did anything to deserve an attitude. The food came out about 15 minutes later with no issues. However we were never checked on, we saw Josiah assist an older woman as soon as she sat down, and he was extremely attentive to a group of older people that sat behind us. I then proceeded to ask for a manager from the host and he told the server, which promoted the server to then check on us. The host did come to me and say the manager was assisting someone else however after he let the server know i asked for the manager I no longer wanted to keep it in house. The food was more than amazing. I had one of the specials of the day which is abnormal for me but i'm so glad I did. It was perfectly described and a perfect birthday dinner. It was overall quiet this time with someone playing piano live in the background. The server was hands down amazing. Recently I was going through my box of cards and thank you letters. I appreciate when a DM takes the time to send a card with their own writing vs sending a pre-written card. The Ambiance is amazing especially with the pianist is playing and be sure to tip and request the songs that you like. Availability to dine, booth or bar top. I've been to Larsen's several times. It has always been a great experience until my experience on Christmas. I'll start off that the food was great. The service is what was lacking. When spending three digits per person, I have an expectation and it was not met. First out order was messed up. Some of that was miscommunication and in addition one ordered item never showed up. We would have asked our server what was going on with the missing item, but he never returned to our table to check on us after the food was delivered. We had to grab another server and ask them to get our guy to come back. It had probably been 45 minutes. We let them know that this just was not acceptable. Then today I found that they double charged my credit card. That's taken care of. It's just extra irritating on top of the rest. It was like a comedy of errors. I'll likely go back but I'll be asking for any other server than the one we had. I may pay in cash. read more
