My family and I recently came here for a last minute lunch. Service was great and so was the food. I'm currently on a Gluten Free/Dairy Free diet so I was pleasantly surprised to see majority of their items were gluten free. I did order the Yellow curry which was delicious. My husband got the Pad Thai. Both dishes were delicious. The spice level was just right and they even offer extra price on the table in case you'd like to increase your dishes spice level. However it was missing the lime commonly seen in Pad Thai dishes. Not a big deal. The Tom Yum soup lacked flavors. No sourness but spice level was there. The green curry lacked some flavors too. The mango sticky rice was good. The sticky rice was just a small portion but the flavor was there. The mango was a little tang but it complemented the sweet sticky rice. This opened up near my house and it's become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of Houston. First off, I only order to go here, have never dined in. And a quick tip, order about 30 minutes before you want to eat it, they are good but are short staffed and very busy. I usually start off with the green papaya salad, here it comes with fried chicken and sticky rice so you basically get two appetizers for the price of one. The Tom yum here is solid, they pack it with a decent amount of shrimp. As far as the curries go they are all good, but my favorite is red curry with roasted duck, not many Thai places offer duck as a protein option. Crab fried rice is my go to here as well. Super flavorful. As far as noodles, pad Thai and pad kee Mao are delicious. Finally, they are one of only a few places in town that offers Khoa soi. This was a dish I fell in love with in Las Vegas at Lotus of Siam and have been searching for it in Houston. So very happy to see it here. Tom Yum Soup was nice and tangy. You get to choose the spice level. We also got fried rice (I didn't try... but must have been good because they ate it all up), Pad Kee Mao (good flavor and meat was tender... just a little more saucy that I am used to) and Basil Egg Plant (needed more eggplant). Unfortunately this was a disappointing encounter. It does pain me to write this review. While the Thai establishment is a nice addition to the Riverstone area to diversify restaurants nearby; it unfortunately did not meet expectations on the quality of the food. This is a casual casual to visit, and while the staff is kind and helpful in taking your order - the food did not deliver. We got the pad Thai, green curry, and eggplant with tofu. The spring rolls were good! We may have gone on a bad day, but to have all entrees come out lacking was a bit surprising. If you are wanting home cooked Thai food with love-- this is the place. The restaurant is small and warm. The people are great! We met John and Kate and they are awesome. My family and I (4 people) decided to order a few items to share so we could try different things. The Chicken Satay & Moo Ping were very flavorful and juicy. The mild red curry had great flavor, and the medium yellow was spicy, but not toooooo spicy. Hot probably would have been too much, and I like spice. All in all, great food, good value. We got to meet one of the owners, I didn't get her name, but this is her and husbands business and he was also helping! You could see him cooking & ringing out customers while still making time to smile & change the light settings for my children! His wife, telling us a bit about the restaurant and how there was this one dish only she could make although she tried to train others so she had to keep our convo short lol. All in all, the food was great, to say the least. The spring rolls were absolutely amazing and so good, even my kids were eating their veggies with joy! The dipping sauces were excellent as well! I had the basil eggplant with chicken and had it prepared spicy! The flavor was excellent and the chicken was very fresh! I forgot what dish my mother ordered but she loved it too! My 4 kids (with the exception of the baby) all had something different from the childrens menu, which they each loved and we finished it off with a dessert! Their food was soooo good, even the kids food was amazing and full of flavor. This is not your Thai restaurant where a bunch of stuff is sitting in big hot bowls in the back ready to serve. Everything is made fresh from scratch. The Thai fried rice was the best flavored fried rice I've tasted. The kids noodles was something I'd eat, amazing flavor. Came inside to order to -go and the man taking my order was already rude. Ordered chicken yellow curry and shrimp pad Thai bean sprouts on the side please. The man goes to tell me "bean sprouts already on the side" ok like how ima know that? This my first time here. I also wanted everything spicy. Came home to see the yellow curry is filled up with nothing but onions in all cuts and shapes, was not spicy. Pad Thai looked weird bc it came with all different sizes of shrimp, just threw me off.
