Finally got to try this neighborhood Thai place, had a good experience overall. Food: we got the Tom yum soup as well as the papaya salad and pad Thai. The food was lacking a bit of flavor but still good overall. My family and I recently came here for a last minute lunch. Service was great and so was the food. I'm currently on a Gluten Free/Dairy Free diet so I was pleasantly surprised to see majority of their items were gluten free. I did order the Yellow curry which was delicious. My husband got the Pad Thai. Both dishes were delicious. The spice level was just right and they even offer extra price on the table in case you'd like to increase your dishes spice level. Ordered the Pad Thai with shrimps, a cup of Tom yum soup, green curry with tofu, and mango with sweet sticky rice for dessert. The Pad Thai was ok. The shrimps were fresh, and the portion was good. However it was missing the lime commonly seen in Pad Thai dishes. Not a big deal. The Tom Yum soup lacked flavors. No sourness but spice level was there. The green curry lacked some flavors too. The mango sticky rice was good. The sticky rice was just a small portion but the flavor was there. The mango was a little tang but it complemented the sweet sticky rice. This opened up near my house and it's become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of Houston. First off, I only order to go here, have never dined in. And a quick tip, order about 30 minutes before you want to eat it, they are good but are short staffed and very busy. I usually start off with the green papaya salad, here it comes with fried chicken and sticky rice so you basically get two appetizers for the price of one. The Tom yum here is solid, they pack it with a decent amount of shrimp. As far as the curries go they are all good, but my favorite is red curry with roasted duck, not many Thai places offer duck as a protein option. Crab fried rice is my go to here as well. Super flavorful. As far as noodles, pad Thai and pad kee Mao are delicious. Finally, they are one of only a few places in town that offers Khoa soi. This was a dish I fell in love with in Las Vegas at Lotus of Siam and have been searching for it in Houston. So very happy to see it here. Tom Yum Soup was nice and tangy. You get to choose the spice level. Unfortunately this was a disappointing encounter. It does pain me to write this review. While the Thai establishment is a nice addition to the Riverstone area to diversify restaurants nearby; it unfortunately did not meet expectations on the quality of the food. This is a casual casual to visit, and while the staff is kind and helpful in taking your order - the food did not deliver. We got the pad Thai, green curry, and eggplant with tofu. The spring rolls were good! We may have gone on a bad day, but to have all entrees come out lacking was a bit surprising. If you are wanting home cooked Thai food with love-- this is the place. The restaurant is small and warm. The people are great! We met John and Kate and they are awesome. My family and I (4 people) decided to order a few items to share so we could try different things. The Chicken Satay & Moo Ping were very flavorful and juicy. His wife, telling us a bit about the restaurant and how there was this one dish only she could make although she tried to train others so she had to keep our convo short lol. All in all, the food was great, to say the least. The spring rolls were absolutely amazing and so good, even my kids were eating their veggies with joy! The dipping sauces were excellent as well! I had the basil eggplant with chicken and had it prepared spicy! The flavor was excellent and the chicken was very fresh! I forgot what dish my mother ordered but she loved it too! My 4 kids (with the exception of the baby) all had something different from the childrens menu, which they each loved and we finished it off with a dessert! You can choose what kind of protein you want (tofu, chicken, pork, etc.) in the curry, as well as the spice level. We picked the lowest spice and the spice was low to medium. My favorites were the red curry and the green curry. Definitely a must try! The yellow curry was also good, but the red & green were the best. The man goes to tell me "bean sprouts already on the side" ok like how ima know that? This my first time here. I also wanted everything spicy. The service here is friendly and food was ready fairly quickly. We ordered pad Thai with pork, extra spicy. Also ordered cashew chicken extra spicy. Both dishes were surprisingly delicious.
