Yesterday my co-worker went to pick up an order for us. Since we work nearby, one of the burritos was totally incorrect, it was supposed to be a chili, Colorado burrito with rice cheese and mole sauce upon opening the burrito. It had pico de gallo , extra Pico de gallo it also had sour cream and beans. I called after I noticed the mess up. I was put on hold, no one returned. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay on hold because of my job requires me to be attentive. I decided to call today when I did the manager. Pedro answered the phone I explained to him the incorrect order. He told me that he would not take my word for it. And that I should have called.Yesterday which I did, and I explained to him, I was put on hold, and no one returned before I had to return to my job duties. He basically once again told me that he was not going to do anything about it. Basically, because I could be lying to him and I explained to him that I called, and I was put on hold.He said he was not there yesterday so there was nothing that he could do to help me rectify the situation. I drove down to Pittsburg because I was craving a wet SUPER burrito. Get all the way back home and I received a wet LUCKY burrito. I did not want lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole and all that crap in my wet burrito. It gives it a weird texture and flavor. The menu says that a super burrito comes with rice, beans, and meat. I call to tell them and the lady who answers looks up my receipt number and repeats my order for a wet super burrito. I confirm that's what I ordered but not what I received. I ask her if I order a wet super burrito, shouldn't it come with rice, beans, and meat with the mole on top? She gets defensive and says "We'll remake it but you have to bring the other one back." Okayyyyy no, problem because I don't want this wet soggy ass mess with sauce, sour cream, and all this shit mixing together and looking like vomit. I ask if I'll be discounted or get a credit since they messed up and I have to drive all the way back down there. She pretends to check with someone else and then comes back and says "no, we can just remake it." Okay, cool. Ambiance is great, service is great. But maybe we got the wrong thing. Soft tacos should be soft, not stiff like leather. The carne asada had no flavor and was tough. Carnitas should be juicy, not dry. And are those pinto beans in the dry carne asada tacos? The salsa tasted like watery ketchup. It's been awhile since I wrote a Yelp review but I had to in good conscience for my experience here recently. I've eaten a lot of Mexican food and I'm not overly picky, some place are better than others etc. However I ordered the Chilaquiles and I could not believe the lazy slop I was served. The beans and rice were great however the picture this - A layer of chips, cheese on top, tasteless unsalted beef and all of it sitting in about 1 to 1 1/2in of of broth and juice. I've attached pics and you'll see, it was literally drowning in liquid, chips were soggy and chewy as a result and there wasn't even a sauce served on it, on a Chilaquiles!!!! I hate writing bad reviews but this was a new one for me and I was very disappointed. It wasn't just bad is was REAL bad. Our go-to for Mexican food! Ordered chillaquillas with asada and they are very generous with the asada meat. Very tasty and I like that dish. Ordered the shrimp burrito as well and it got a thumbs up! We've ordered this before at a different Mexican Restaurant and the shrimp tasted old. First time here at Las Panchitas and ordered to go. I like the place, they have lots of parking outside and when you walk in, it looks like a party inside! Very festive and lively. The place is small though probably 8 to 10 tables max. Looks like most people that come in, either pre-ordered or just do walk-in order and then leave, which is what I did. We ordered 2 Carne Asada Plates and a mini burrito. That mini burrito looks like a regular sized burrito (my mom still did not finish it). She said it was too big! But she loved that it was meaty!!! The carne asada was on point! Tender and juicy plus add that Guac and you are in heaven!!! Their chips tasted homemade, it was warm and crunchy, also goes well with Guac! I would have given five stars, but it seems like every time I order from here, I never get the free bean dip because they keep raising the amount required. Last time I had to spend $35 to get the free bean dip. Now I have to spend $40? Including my tip, my bill was $40 and I still didn't get it. Are the beans imported from somewhere? Honestly, the food is superb. This may be the Mexican food place in the area, possible in the East Bay. You will not find better burritos anywhere. Problem is the service. First off, they've got the music so loud, you can't hear anything anyone is saying. Some of the people behind the counter are masked (some are not, some have it pulled down over their chin - why wear a mask?). The young ladies speak so softly but the music is so loud it may take a minute for them to get your order down. If it's during dinner, the place is packed and no one can hear anything they're saying because the damned music is so loud, they're all talking loud so it's really hard to hear in there at that time. Why does the music need to be so loud? Second, do NOT order for pick up. Did this once. Told us the food would be ready in 30 minutes. Got there 30 minutes later. It hadn't even been started. People were literally coming in after and getting their food first. What is the point of ordering for pick up if I can just walk in and literally get it quicker? Couldn't be more pissed. Normally a place with service like this would get one star but the food IS excellent so you have to weigh the pros and cons. read more
