Be warned, it's very loud in here. We went on a Wednesday night and there was a live band playing a mix of Spanish Rock and Punk plus others from what I remember. A moderate amount of room to dance. The decor is really unique that goes with the rabit theme of the bar with a ton of stuff that looks like it's from Mexico. Even though the bar was full, we were able to peek our head in to order drinks. Service is quick. There is an outdoor patio were you can smoke and order food. We didn't try it, but we saw tacos and other assorted Mexican foods available. There's some street parking but I recommend getting dropped off or taking an Uber or Lyft. My friends and I had so much fun here on a Friday night. The outside is unassuming but the later in the evening you arrive you will begin to notice a line outside. We arrived at 9:30 and it was pretty empty inside. I would say by 10:15/10:30 it was packed. It's a small place with an expansive bar, smaller bar in the corner, a couple of booths, small outdoor patio with a taco stand and a DJ inside spinning Latin and reggaeton jams. They are a tequila and mezcal bar so most drinks feature those spirits and there are plenty of delicious cocktails to try. The restroom is a whole mini Experience they have writing on the walls which is super cute (only on the stalls) and my sister wanted to write something and she knows I never go anywhere without a pen. When we got back outside they were getting ready to play live music and one of the Guitar players asked me if we had any preferences and I told him what I liked. He tried his best to play some good songs. So I give him credits for trying. My sister and I danced for a while and then we decided to leave but we had lots of fun. I've gone to Las Perlas several times and for the most part it is always a great night. Music is great and vibe is always fun. The bartenders there are all really great and friendly. I decided to choose this bar as the spot to celebrate the New Year with a group of friends. But this time for some reason one of the bartenders decided to cut us off pretty early (8PM) and is a first ever. My group of friends had a buzz going but were not blackout drunk or anything. We weren't being rude or disrespectful to anyone. We were all just having a good time chatting with one another. The same bartender then began to progressively ask one of their securities to keep an eye on us and we were basically being babysitted throughout the whole night. Not his fault, he was just following orders. He was very understanding and respectful. Its hard to understand why this particular bartender acted the way he did. None of the other bartenders had a problem with us. People at this bar usually get far more rowdier and far more drunk that we were that night, but he decided to specifically target us. Once the New Year came, about 20 minutes went by and the security came over and told us that the bartender is forcing us to leave. I never thought we'd be treated like shit for no reason. read more

Ordering drinks wasn't too difficult, and we had a lot more space to mix and mingle. The $9 tecate beer + shot combo was all I needed. Reasonably priced, for sure. The ambiance is possibly what I like most about this place. It's an Oaxacan style cantina/bar with great decor and a great energy. Las Perlas is the nation's first mezcal bar, with over 400 premium agave spirits. If you're into Mexican themed bars and cantinas, this is a must try. The aesthetics of the place is amazing, along with the drinks. My night was going great until I realized my phone was stolen right out of my closed purse. Could have happened while I was in line to the bathroom or on the dance floor. Security and workers are aware that this is an ongoing issue, it's even posted on the front door but no procedure seems to be in place once this happens except to shine a flashlight on the floor. When I was outside of the bar, a couple was getting chased by a group because they were caught stealing a girls wallet. The group mentioned the thieves travel in groups and hand off the stolen items to other individuals. From reading reviews here and on google, this has been happening for a while now. There are cameras in the bar too. I would think that staff would be more aware of patterns and individuals that frequent the place. By now there should be more preventative strategies in place to prevent this besides not allowing large bags in, as well as a procedure when items are reported stolen. There is only one way in and out. Individuals get checked at the door to go in, maybe they should get checked when exiting as well.
